Equestria's Eclipse

Celestia's Name

Previous Chapter

I clear my throat as I begin the chapter.

"A long time ago, Equestria was a mere village, small but proud. These ponies are suspected to be the ancestors of Equestria. Everypony was working hard to survive, but soon, a drought came, instantly slowing down the process. Ponies were hungry, tired, and famished. Soon they forfeit and sheltered in homes until the drought slowed down."

"Measly little ponies." Discord retorts, and yawns.

"The drought lasted on for ages, but finally, it ended. Only a few ponies remained, but still, happy as ever to be alive. They started building an even greater community, which first started as Canterlot. They began moving to other cities and soon, Princesses were elected, battles unfolded, and the history of Equestria remained silent, until now."

"Until now?" I ask particularly no one, and read on.

"For years now, nopony has heard the true story. Rumors run around, tales and chapters are whispered around, but nopony knows the truth. The ruler before Princess Celestia would be me, her long-lost brother. I am much like her, as a twin, you could say. My name? I am Solaris, the holder of the sun. The PROPER holder, that is."

"What?" Discord says, and sighs. "Whatever, go on." He snaps his fingers and puts on his glasses. I look at him and read the next paragraph.

"If you are reading this book, find my sister and bring her to the highest mountain in Canterlot. I will be waiting there."

I smile at the same time as Discord does. We know what we're going to do, already.

We make such a good team.

I arrive at the highest mountain, Mount. Celestia. Figures. I look around until I spot a grand-looking pony, sitting down on a rock, gazing down at the horrible city.

"How could you do this?"

A slight smile plays on my lips, and I decide what I should respond. "Well, of course, Celestia ordered me to do so." I say with a melancholy tone, and frown at him like he's wrong. Solaris looks at me, trying to decode my face.  I look at him back innocently, staring into his eyes.

"Why?" His questioning is just what I want. I clear my throat just as I began that chapter and start to invent  a story.

"Princess Celestia has turned bad, I'm afraid. She destroyed Equestria to her greater will and hired me to work for her as her new loyal advisor. Of course we cannot prevent this mess, my dear Solaris. But I can, in exchange, bring you to her if you can stop her foolish ways, that is." I love explaining things. I'm so trustworthy as a god and everyone can count on me.

"But...well...may I tell you a story first?" A frown plays on my lips this time, but I prevent it from showing. I nod and wait for the story.

"My sister and I were very close...how could she have become so corrupted? We were too close and inseparable even though we spent a large amount of time without each other. Unless... my sister is controlled by..it."

I look at him interestingly. "It?"

"It...an all-powerful amulet that my sister had worn when she...when she.." I decide I should trust this man, and lean in forward to hear the story. "What happened?"

"She is no royal blood. She is not the true ruler of Equestria. She wore an amulet that granted her princess powers. It is called the Alicorn Amulet. A while ago, a pony named Trixie used it, causing herself to become corrupted and strict. My sister can control the amulet very well, and has learned to hide it so she can have unlimited power. The truth is...we are both normal ponyfolk, like the rest of Equestria."

I gasp. Really? Is this the truth?

Solaris looks at me now, and nods as if he too can read my mind. Perfect.

"Solaris, I will now lead you to Princess Celestia's castle. I promise to show you the right way." I slyly lead him down the mountain and stop. "Hold on tight!" I say, and we teleport to the castle right away. He is in locks and chains, and I am now sitting in a little chair next to him.

"B-b-b-ut...what?!"  He's in a rough state, I can see now. The chain around his body tightens with every step he takes towards me. He uses his magic, but it is powerless against mine. He stops taking steps and looks at me angrily.

"I thought you promised." He says, and I laugh evilly. "You think I would really promised the brother of Princess Celestia?" I smirk and snap my fingers, imitating Discord. Discord appears and sits on top of Solaris. "Hello my dear friend." He exclaims in surprise, and smiles smugly. "Looks like someone's got himself in a hoof." I remark, and Discord laughs.

"Excellent joke, my Prince." Solaris squints his eyes, trying to figure out who I am. "You're the prince...aren't you." He asks, and shakes his head angrily. 'Why didn't I see this before..." Discord sighs and ignores him.

"The point is, we're going to destroy Equestria. Let us go tell Celestia of her news." I suggest, and we leave Solaris boiling with fury.

"Hello, Celestia." I sneer at her as we enter the chamber. 'Princess' Celestia looks at me oddly, like she doesn't know what I'm talking about. "We know your secret." Discord says.

"What secret?" Rainbow Dash asks curiously, and the Mane Six all look at Celestia suspiciously. "I don't know what you are talking about." Celestia retorts. "You know what I'm talking 'bout. The Alicorn Amulet. You have it, and you're wielding it right now!" I snap, and Discord takes off Celestia's golden necklace to reveal the Alicorn Amulet, sitting there. The Mane Six gasp in horror as Celestia's cheeks turn red with guilt.

"What's your real name?" I smirk, and I know I've got her caught now.  The Mane Six sit up. Celestia looks at me angrily, but she can't do anything, because her powers have been taken away. She is about to speak.
