The Teller of Tales-Chapter 3

Previous Chapter

After a while of hiding, Wolfheart sensed a presence nearby, and opened her golden eyes to see a great white wolf with odd-colored eyes, one blue and one amber, standing over her.

"The Tale-Teller!" cried the dark horse. "What brings you here from the Blue Lake Pack?"

"Simple," said the white wolf, "I heard you call. I see you met the bird-colored ponies, yes?"

"I-I have... they scared me so! Wh-why are they so crazy? One kept bouncing; she would not keep still! Another dived at

me! Why? What are they? Why do they act like this? And are they the Six in the Prophecy?"

"I can reassure you they are not the ones in the Prophecy, In the Prophecy's tale, the Six are foals, 3 males and 3 females, and one of each gender for each race of horses. Or in this case, brightly colored ponies..."

"Oh. I understand now. But how will I find the Six?"

"They will find you. But not until a danger is awakened."

"A danger?! What danger?"

"Well, more an annoyance, actually..."

"An annoyance? Then how will I know what it is?"

"This creature bears the Dragon-Curse that the Dragon-Lord put upon the Dark One's slaves. So it should not be hard to spot. And besides," (Here the wolf smiled.) , "This annoyance will talk so much you want to put a muzzle on him to shut him up!"

"Okay, i should know then! But how do you know this creature?"

"I met him once long ago. He wound up with a rope holding his mouth shut. Need i say more?"

"Ha ha! I understand now, Tale-Teller! But how will the said annoyance be awakened?"

"Therein lies the problem. You will have to go back to that town of the bird-colored ponies, and start a fight near a certain statue... You will know it when you see it."

"That will be easy!"

"Not really, Wolfheart. The ponies in that town refuse to fight, even if challenged. You will have to strike first."

"I understand, and i obey. Thank you, Teller."

The wolf touched the young hurrok's forehead with her muzzle.

"Go now, Wolfheart. You  know what you have to do." Then the Teller vanished in a puff of smoke.

Wolfheart watched the wolf vanish and then she went back toward the east, nerves steeled to handle the strange ponies.
