Chapters "Keep looking. Those brats can't be that hard to find," one of the surrounding guards asked. Unbeknownst to him, Apple bloom and the other two fillies were walking right behind him. The three mares were in their guard suits that they "borrowed" from the original users. I know this because I killed one of the guards that dared to threaten one of my friends little sisters and ate him. Yeah,that's right..I ate a pony. Any who, back to the story.
They slowly made their way to the chamber where we were being kept in stasis. Sweetie belle started inching closer to the door. She thought no one noticed but the second guard saw her. "Hey no going in there, rookie. That's off limits to new ponies,okay. Top secret bull you know." Sweetie didn't show it because of her mask but she was angry at the guard who called her sister "Top secret bull". You could just feel the hate the poor thing gave off. But before the guard could investigate why she was angry, they got a report that some local rebel was at the front office posting a sign and they had to take care of it. "Ugh... I hate leaving it to the new ponies. Do you think you three could guard the entrance here for a while?" They responded to the guard with "Yes sir" and took their positions by our door guarding the valuables inside.
Once the guards left, Applebloom spoke up. "Can we take these stupid masks off now? Ah can barely breathe in here."
"Yeah it's really itchy. Sweet Harmonia how can they stand wearing these things?" That response came from none other than Scootaloo, the only Pegasus in the trio.
Sweetie belle replied coldly "They do it by shutting up about it. Now come on girls lets get our families back."
They opened the door with a stolen id badge (courtesy of Sweetie) and walked on in to see which one held their sisters. They started to lose all hope when one of them said "I found one!" The other two ran towards the one who found my tank. "You think it might be one of them?" Scootaloo asked. Applebloom responded "Uh yeah, look at the name tag. 'Twilight' it's her alright! Come on, we came this far... let's wake her." They started the procedure and were one button away from releasing me when the colt from earlier busted in on them and yelled "FREEZE! HOOVES IN THE AIR! NOW!"
They did as they were told, deciding it was in their best interest to listen to the arrogant colt. But not before pressing the button that awakened me from cryo-stasis. My tube opened up slowly. Finally I fell out, tubes ripping bits of flesh off me.They grew back quickly and I woke up to a gun in my fucking face.
The poor stallion was shaking with fear. "S-stay w-w-where you are I-I'm warning y-you."
"You little shit kicker." I snapped."You think that will help you? Honestly? That's pathetic." I swiftly kicked the gun out of his hooves and proceeded to beat him to a bloody pulp. He fell, hitting my horn, dying soon after.
I then consumed the fucker's body, clothes and all. But something happened when I did that. I felt a pain in my head. It swelled and I flashed back to what had just happened. After I got over the shock of what I had just done,I turned around and faced the three mares that had looked up to me and my friends so long ago. "Girls, whats wrong?" I asked.They just stared at me with absolute terror in their faces. I'll be honest.... I was hurt by their expressions. I never meant to scare them. "Girls, I'm sorry if I scared you but that man was going to kill you. I just had to do something." Then I broke down. After being trapped in that wretched tube for so long....and now that I'm free, three of my friends were scared of me, or so I thought.
Applebloom walked over, patted my shoulder and said "It's okay Twi. We were just surprised,that's all. No need to be upset." We were about to wake the others when, all of a sudden, the second canister to my left opened up and revealed my once little assistant Spike, older and much more buff looking.
"Oh my head is killing me! Where am I?" Before I could answer him, our door was kicked open and we were surrounded by guards. I will tell you this much, it sucked to be the guards at that moment.
The first mistake they made was when they shot me. "TWILIGHT!" Spike yelled. After making sure we were okay,Spike turned around with a murderous gleam in his eyes."YOU'RE GOING TO REGRET THAT YOU WORMS!" Spike yelled. He transformed into some...thing I could barely recognize. Spikes started to protrude out of his body and a wicked grin cut across his face. "NOW THEN." the beast said while flicking out one of his claws. "WHO WANTS TO DIE FIRST?!" Quick as lightning, he tore through the remaining guards in the holding cell. After the carnage was over and he was once again the Spike I remembered, he relaxed and fell back heavily on me. "Twilight.... what happened?" Spike asked.
"I'll tell you later. Right now, help me get the others out." I said. It took several hours but eventually we freed everyone. Now the interesting part begins. Breaking in was easy...... getting out is a different story.
Killer, Monster, Terrorist
It took me, the three not so little crusaders, and spike a little while to free the others but in the end it was worth it because here we all were together once more. Of course Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Rarity all got massive hugs from their little sisters, or in Rainbow's case, her biggest fan, but the time to be happy had to come later. According to the little ones' info we had less than a minute before cavalry showed up. "Are you sure we can't just stay and kill everypony in this building twilight?" Pinkie asked, still having a little bit of crazy in her eyes from what I could see, firmly I told her "No for two reasons. One it would draw more attention to all of us. Two it would be a complete waste of our powers so anymore arguments because you should spill them out right now." No surprise the first one to open her mouth to bitch was none other than Rainbow fucking Dash, good friend really competitive though
"Yeah I have one who died and made you my boss huh egghead?" Spike literally was looking as though rainbow had slit my throat and eaten my heart he was so mad and trust me you do not want to be on the business end of a pissed off dragon.
"You will show Twilight some respect you little gnat or so help me Harmonia I will crush your spine!" "Oh scary seriously I could kick your scaly flank in no time flat you reptilian little-" "ENOUGH!" I yelled and to my surprise both of them did just that sometimes you need to show some quality leadership to earn even the toughest pony's respect. "Now would you two stop bitching about who's the better fighter?! we'll figure it out later."
All of us decided to head out together since separating would be a tactical disadvantage especially since any of us barely remember this building at all. We took a left and ran smack dab into a platoon of these sorry fucks who thought they could actually handle us I gave the dance floor to rarity who somehow managed to turn own tail into a bladed whip and her eyes started glowing red, when did that happen?
"Oh darlings this is going to be so much fun for me. you, not so much." With that she leaped into action in what looked like a total dance of death the poor guards only got off a few bullets before they died When she calmed down her eyes returned to normal and her whip reconfigured into a regular purple pony tail she looked at me with a confused look on her face "Um what is it Twilight? Is there something on my tail?" Yeah a whip I almost told her but at that moment I noticed one of the guards was still and Fluttershy was right next to him.
"P-p-please kill me" the colt begged. That wasn't surprising as his front two legs were broken.It was what Fluttershy did that astonished me. She impaled the poor stallion with her right hoof, which had morphed into a claw, and started to calm him down.
"Don't worry your pain will soon be over". I saw what looked like tears streaming down her face and I knew she hated this much more than any of us.
"Twilight, can we go now please." Fluttershy practically sobbed.
"Yeah, we can leave now." We passed by some other labs. There was one that was labeled ZEUS but we didn't bother opening that one up....who knew what monster could be lurking there? Once we reached the main atrium the crusaders stopped in their tracks and told us to get behind cover. Yeah no kidding look at the security of this place I thought to my self and then it happened. Now,I know that this will sound weird, but somehow the others and me, minus Scoots, Bloom, and Sweetie, all became completely different ponies and somehow now had clothes with the Blackhoof insignia on them.
"Twi, how in Tartarus did y'all do that?" Applebloom asked. I shrugged as we all slipped out, one by one, to the last place in Equestria I expected to be...Manehatten.
“How the buck did we get into Manehatten?” Pinkie asked but at the moment I didn’t care nor was my immediate focus on said reasons. We started moving away from the building we broke out of so that we could avoid detection better. Finding my way around Manehattan, I decide for the group to find less conspicuous clothing. Looking through the market area of the city, I managed to find the best shop for our needs. “In here.” Motioning for them to follow me. Breaking into the store and then setting off the alarm, everyone took off in different directions as I went straight ahead.
“Oh my! I can’t believe they would leave these clothes in such a condition!”Rarity exclaimed “They really need to get some more athletic wear in here” Dash points out. “This place has an extremely boring selection, but i guess it will have to do.” Pinkie says blatantly. “Well, anything that can cover my back is good enough.” Applejack chimes in. On my way up one aisle I notice an outfit that a parkour pony would wear, quickly grabbing the outfit before the police show up. Once I finished looking for my outfit, I see that the others are prepared as well I lead them into the back alley behind the shop and quickly engulf the clothing and allow the clothing to appear so as to make ourselves as inconspicuous as possible while trying to maintain a normal pony like composure.
Just as the clothing was on, the police show up looking for us with a large force of SWAT and some Blackhoof soldiers. “Buck, we have to get the hell out of here.” I told them. Once the coast was clear, I took the first step, sneaking out of the alley, rounding the corner so as not to get caught, due to the fact that they had a short range virus detector, quickly slipping out of range. That is when I realized that we just made the biggest mistake and set off a virus detector hidden atop the building “What the buck are we going to do now?”, being that we were too exposed at the moment, there was nothing we could do at the time but run, knowing that the helicopters would be on us in no time, we look for a heavily crowded area.
With luck, I find an open supermarket store crowded with people and lead them into it, but before we reach it, Rainbow Dash stopped
“Why are we going in there, when we know we can handle these guys?”She asked, her hot headed persona getting the better of her again.
“I’m certain that you would rather avoid a conflict with them, as I know Twilight wouldn’t want to have to fight them.”Spike responded. Reluctantly, Rainbow Dash gives up and follows. In an attempt to blend in while going towards the back, the police begin to pour in through all doors, with this being the case I decided it was best to split up. No sooner than we had made our move, we were compromised and the building was cleared as the cops surrounded us, each in an individual area of the store, waiting for us to make our move. I used my superhuman strength provided by the virus, and began throwing the shelves carefully as not to hit my friends, while still giving me room to help the others, kicking left and right from time to time to kick officers that were right on my tail knocking back large groups at a time.
Picking up the weapon that one of them dropped and began firing on the officers that were surrounding my friends, each round successfully connecting with an officer. Then, as I realize that the weapon had run out, no sooner than I had I was brought to the floor in a pile as were the others, and that is when the officers made their mistake, with an almost explosive amount of force, I exploded from beneath the pile. This was enough to knock the rest of the officers off of my friends and into the walls of the store, killing all of them instantly. All but one. Fluttershy proceeds to consume the officer, collecting information on a mare called ‘The Queen’. This new information surprised and confused me. Just who was this ‘Queen’ and why does Blackhoof want her?
Before reinforcements could arrive we took off out the back door. Running, I hear the heli’s coming in “damn it.” I noticed a tanker truck that could be thrown at the first, with this I went over and lifted the truck and heaved it at the first pursuing helicopter destroying it instantly, then I noticed the second, “Wait here.” they nodded in response. I ran to the top of a building, once on the roof I charged in the direction of the helicopter leaping off the roof landing on the helicopter right at the door of the cockpit.
Ripping the door off, I grab the pilot, consuming him to learn how to fly the helicopter, then assuming control of the helicopter, fly over and land to pick up my friends, once we escaped and the cops were no longer a problem, “That was a little close for comfort.” Applejack said, “I still say we could’ve taken those fuckers.” Rainbow said. We headed to where that blackhoof official’s memories said that The Queen is held. I was the first to enter, consuming one of the guards posted at the entrance to get the directions to where The Queen is held, then Rarity strangling the other until he was no longer breathing, Spike and the others following behind.
As another large group of guards quickly responded to the incident, Dash’s arm turns into a blade engaging a small section. Fluttershy, nervously brandishing the tendril whip, quickly lashing out at another small group, feeling a little sorry for killing them. Pinkie, wielding the hammer fists,happily crushing yet another small group, Applejack, using only her superhuman strength, begins crushing the skulls of another group of guards, Spike, while remaining unseen in the fray, proceeds to drag the guards off one by one killing them in the shadows.
“Finally got to kill some of those Blackhoof assholes.” Rainbow exclaimed. After an hour of searching and sneaking about in disguise, we find where the queen is held and open the door to the chamber to notice that it was empty, then as we turn to leave I, along with my friends, are thrown against the wall as a figure saying “I-I’m so sorry, please f-forgive me,” comes into the light to reveal a pale white pony with a horn and wings.The pony in question took me by surprise not just because of the fact she looked so young but that her wings and horn looked just like our own claws and blade. She launches several tendrils at us and I can feel what it’s doing to us. The figure loses her sad expression and instead has an emotionless expression. The pony walked forward saying as she strips all of us, that contain the virus, of the skills and abilities we had “I am the Queen, and you… will… not… stop… me. ”
Old Friends... New Enemies
The Queens tendrils, still latched on to us, were starting to really drain major parts of us now. The first was our abilities to morph our limbs into weapons and soon, I feared, she would take away the virus altogether. Before my worst fear came true, however, the pale white mare let us go with what could pass as an evil smile.
Upon release from the grip of The Queens tendrils, we righted ourselves as best we could leaning against the walls for support, as being drained had left us exhausted. Suddenly I turn to see Dash and Spike charging at me like raging bulls.
“GUYS SNAP OUT OF IT THIS ISN’T YOU!” I tried to shout at them, hoping that it would break whatever control this nag had on them, but my cries fell on deaf ears. I notice The Queen was using some sort of mind control ability to control my friends, then try to move as quickly as possible but find that I couldn’t move. “What the hell?”I say as I notice the tendrils grip around my legs preventing my movement then feeling the impact from my two friends, all goes black.
I woke up a few moments later with the two stooges laying on top of me and the others trying to get them off of me. We eventually got Rainbow and Spike off of me but when I turned to try and see where The Queen was standing a few moments ago, she was gone. In her place was a giant hole in the wall. “DAMN IT!” I shouted seeing that our only chance to interrogate her had slipped through our grasp. We were about to leave when I noticed several large… boils. That is honestly the only way I can describe what I saw, in front of us were large, pulsating, boils on the walls and floor. What really seemed gross though was that the things were glowing.
“What are those, horrid, disgusting things?” Rarity asked.
“I don’t know and I certainly don’t want to find out.” I say to her.
“Well if Ah didn’t know any better I could almost say… land sakes alive there are ponies inside those things!” Applejack practically yelled. I gave her a skeptical look before I saw one of those things glow real bright revealing the creature inside of it.
“Um, I don’t think we should stay very much longer.” Spike nervously says. looking at him, I nod in agreement.
“Well, with that said, maybe we should get the hell out of here before those… things…”
just before Rainbow finishes, the boils bust open releasing the creatures within.
The creatures that burst forth from the cocoons were huge, muscular enough to give Spike a run for his bits, and not to mention their size was three times the size of any other creature I’ve ever seen or studied about. The first one that hatched leaped towards me, launching me out of the nearest window. As I fell, the one thing I least expect to happen was me landing on two soldiers, literally popping their heads off on impact with the ground. The rest of the group came crashing down as well, each dealing with their own monster trying to eat their faces off. They eventually pushed the creatures off, all of them except for Fluttershy who was scratching the side of her beasts head.
“It’s okay there no one’s going to hurt you now okay?” She cooed to it. I, to this day, will have no answer as to how Fluttershy managed to tame her first monster. We all just kind of stared at her in astonishment but the creatures had other plans. As one they all rushed forward, the soldiers and Blackhoof personnel firing at them, and tried to rip apart our friend. Then the creature she actually stopped them by pouncing one the one that tried to hurt me. The fight was short lived as both monsters collided in mid air and fell to the ground.
The first to get up however wasn’t the creature that saved Fluttershy sadly. As far as I could tell that particular beast was now dead. The creature that killed him, however, made his biggest mistake when he tried to charge my yellow friend again without so much as paying attention to her eyes. “YOU HURT MY ANGEL!” She yelled and that’s when a thought came through my head, she viewed the beasts as nothing more than wild animals that needed help maybe this could work to our advantage. Before I could continue my thoughts however I heard the sound of something being slammed into the ground followed by a sickening CRACK! .
I look to see that Fluttershy had grabbed the creature and threw it against the ground as hard as she could “THAT WAS FOR ANGEL, YOU SORRY SON OF A BITCH!.” she yelled viciously. I just looked at her in shock as to what had just happened. The rest of the beasts just backed away slowly and then another amazing feat happened. Half of the group actually bowed to Fluttershy. The others didn’t comply however and just ran off into the night. Through out this whole thing what amazed me was also that the soldiers in the area barely fired a single shot except when those creatures attacked Fluttershy.
That part confused me for awhile before I turned my attention back to the monster that Flutters just smashed into the ground. It was writhing in pain and wasn’t going to last long after tonight. I went over and tried to see if I could absorb it the same way I did a regular pony, or if the occasion arises griffon, and was met with some success. I ripped the monsters arm off and then smashed it into it’s head causing it to be nothing more than a puddle of blood and brains. I then felt a strange sensation in my hooves and suddenly I saw four claws protruding from them. As I marveled at how I got my power back my friends also started to go through the same process as I did. Rainbow was the first to voice what was on all of our minds right then.
“HELL YEAH MOTHER FUCKERS!” She shouted as she leaped into the air before doing a little twist and slicing the air in front of her.
“Oh, I’ve been wondering when I’d get to use these beauties again.” Rarity said in an almost sadistic tone, which I awkwardly enjoyed hearing her use.
“I’m sorry angel.” Fluttershy said as she patted the dead beast, which I have decided to dub brawlers due to their fighting nature, and then sliced her claws across the head of the brawler who killed her pet. “That bitch will pay for what she made me do.”
“WHOA NELLY NOW WE’RE TALKING!” Applejack said as she cut across a dead brawlers body.
“With this, I could slice those bastards to bits.” Spike gladly exclaims.
“This will certainly add a new decoration to every party we have with those meanies.” Pinkie chortles.
“This is all nice and everything.” I said, though I couldn’t help but feel a little pleasure in having my claws back, “But right now we need to… wheres Applebloom and the others?!” I suddenly realized that when I woke up the little mares were nowhere in sight.
“Oh, where is my sweet little sister? Was she not with us a moment ago?” Rarity asked worriedly.
“THOSE FUCKERS ARE REALLY GOING TO GET IT NOW! WHEN I GET MY CLAWS ON THEM , I WILL MAKE THEM PAY!” Rainbow yelled fiercely.
“Where’s Applebloom? I thought she’d have been knocked out of there like the rest of us.” Applejack asks with a very concerned look. I turned towards one of the soldiers ahead of us and grabbed him in my claws.
“WHERE ARE THEY YOU FUCKING WORM?!” I demanded from this sorry excuse for a creature. He only stammered before I decided to rip his head off and eat him. Suddenly a pang of pure pain shot straight into my head as a flashback suddenly happened.
There were two individuals, one looking like the white mare called The Queen, the other a brute with three young mares in his grasp. Suddenly a mysterious stallion steps in demanding that the brute release the young mares. He quickly hands them over to the white mare, the mare wrapping them in her tendrils, sealing them away in some sort of prison. The brute then throwing the stallion across the room. but before the brute gets to him he zips out before any further harm could be done, realizing that he had failed to rescue them he leaves, the brute begins to pursue.
“Where are they?” asked Applejack inquisitively.
“The… The Queen took them after some huge infected gave them over to her.” I told her. I left out the part about the stallion trying to save them because I didn’t know how she would react.
“WELL THAT’S JUST FUCKING GREAT!” Dash yells, still extremely pissed.
“Well if you would let me finish Rainbow I was about to say that I know where the other hunter is as well.” I scolded my old friend, like I said hot headed.
“Sorry about that, its just I got so angry with Scootaloo’s disappearance.” Rainbow said with a hint of anger still in her voice.
“It’s fine, we’re all a little upset right now.” I told her as I placed a hoof on her shoulder. “Lets just focus on finding that nag and bringing her down.” The group nodded in approval. I racked through the memory to try and pinpoint where the beast started to chase the mystery stallion. “He’s going towards the warehouse district. It may be trying to make a hive.” I told them, this was a partial idea that I had but not the real one that I had in my mind. This seemed to please the group as we started to run towards the warehouse district.
Once we arrived in the warehouse district we notice that it was already a warzone. We notice the mysterious stallion run right past us, with that we stopped the pursuing beast Fluttershy quickly bringing it’s face to hers then impaling it’s face with the claw on the other hoof consuming it to gather the information as to how they could get to The Queen.
After a painful flashback, fluttershy explains that the hive that The Queen is in is back in the market district. But before going to the market district we quickly tracked down the stallion that had passed us.and found him hiding in an alley hoping that he’d lost the beast.
“Midnight Star?!” I nearly shout, “What were you doing in that hive?” I ask him.
“I was trying to rescue those mares when I got a call saying that there were three mares being carried off to the hive, so I went in. I also heard about seven runners being in the area. You must be the runners I am suspecting?” Midnight explained.
“Well, there are seven of us here and we were the only ones running over this way when we saw you pass us by brute in tow. Which, by the way, Fluttershy here took care of him. so now to answer your question, yes” I told him flatly. He sighed as though he wasn’t right which is not like him.
“Then I’m sorry Twi but.” As he said this he whipped out an electrical rod. “I’m afraid I have to kill you and your friends. Nothing personal.”
I stared at my old friend with a look of utter shock and disgust as he circled me and the others. As me and him finally finished our little dance Midnight was the first to react as he leaped forward at the same time I did, claws extended, and our weapons were locked.
As our weapons became locked, I pull one of my claws away , swinging low, scraping his leg. he drops the electric weapon to grasp his leg in pain but stands right away and charges to tackle me missing as I sidestep, he stands again this time pulling a firearm, quickly I rush to knock the weapon away then throw him against the wall, seeing that he wasn’t able to stand after the impact with the wall, I stand him up.
“WHY, MIDNIGHT?! WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU DO THIS TO US?!” I yell at him furiously.
“I was just following orders.” he says. As he falls to the ground, he says “You win this one, but next time, you won’t be so lucky.” with a defeated tone as we walk away.
Midnight 3rd person POV
As he laid there against the wall he begins to get a strange feeling and looks down to see that the wound on his leg had healed almost instantly and any broken or fractured bones easily healed “What the hell?” he said to himself, he suddenly picks up a dumpster nearby throwing it across the alley angrily because he had failed.
“FUCK!” he yelled knowing exactly what had just happened. During his fight with his former marefriend, he apparently gained some of her powers. So now on top of him failing to stop the group from spreading the virus, he was now one of them.
Heading back to HQ, Midnight tries to keep the virus in him a secret, the others gathering around him, Big Macintosh comes up to him “Hey, yah okay? Yah don’t look so good.” he asked with a concerned tone.
“Yeah, I’ll be fine, I just need to rest.” he said to Big Mac.
Twilight 1st person POV
“THAT DAMNED TRAITOR!” I yelled to the heavens. The rest of the group either looking at me with pity or just grunting in agreement. “What was I thinking telling him I was a, what did he call me? A runner ? What does that even mean?!”
“Next time I say we gut the mother fucker.” Spike said with utter contempt in his voice. I looked at him with murder in my eyes as I pin him up against a wall with my claws.
“YOU HURT HIM AND I WILL CUT YOUR HEAD OFF MY SELF!” I yelled at him. It took me a few seconds to calm down.
Spike looks at me with Frightened eyes, “Jeez Twilight, I didn’t know you loved him that much. I happened to notice you catching his leg and then something happened but it probably didn’t take effect until after we left.” he said with a curious tone of voice.
I stood there, hanging my head to the ground with despair “We were going to get married in the future, but now I don’t know if I could ever face him again.” I said with a glum tone. Rarity walked up to me and patted my shoulder and gave me a brave smile.
“It’ll be fine darling. Maybe they’ll fix whatever made us… this way and you can still marry him.” That’s Rarity for you, always sure love has a way to survive.
Fluttershy walked towards me and sat in front of me, placing her arm around me to give what comfort she could.“If it would help any, we could look for a place to go to for shelter, since it looks like it’s about to rain, and then we could talk more about it.” she told me with a caring tone that helped to ease the emotional pain of what had happened.
“Yeah Twilight. Don’t worry we’ll get him back even if we do have to knock some sense into him.” Rainbow told me in her own comforting way.
“Why, if I had to, I would go right up to him and tell him exactly what’s going on, and how it happened.” Pinkie said in a solid but comforting tone.
“Shucks Twi don’t get too emotional on me now girl, the best thing we can do is hope that he will realize that he loves you just as much, you know, ever since this whole Blackhoof business started, I saw them snatch him up. before all of… this happened and I know they brainwashed them. Maybe the brainwashin’ didn’t completely wipe his memory.” Applejack told me with an encouraging tone.
Midnight 3rd person POV
Back at Blackhoof Headquarters. In the barracks Midnight lies silently on his bed. “What did she do to me? I can feel it getting stronger like it’s trying to bring something back.” Then, everything that he could still remember, before he was forced to join Blackhoof, slammed into his mind, that very day that he left the house, the day he was abducted.
He could see her running to save him, but being brought to the ground as the rest of the Blackhoof officials tackle her, he began to fight against the ones that had a hold on him, calling out her name before everything went black.
“I know what I must do. I have to escape, I have to go rogue, I have to find them.” As he said that, Midnight noticed that in place of his arms were claws instead, and the Virus detectors went off, alerting everyone. Before the rest of the specialists could arrive, he took off into the night.
Big Mac 3rd person POV
As they entered the room where Midnight was. Big Mac suddenly had an epiphany. “Why, if he had that darned virus in ‘im, didn’t the virus detectors go off like they was supposed to when he came in?” Big Mac said angrily.
“I don’t know sir. Technical issues, maybe?” replied Trixie.
“I WANT ALL OF YOU OUT THERE, LOOKING FOR HIM, NOW!” Mac Orders loudly, forcing the most formal accent.
The rest of the group scattered about exiting the barracks to begin the search as he walked to his room just falling back on his bed “What in tarnation happened to him, I know he got into a fight with them, did they somehow spread it to him while fighting?” he asked himself aloud.
“You guessed right,” Midnight said from the shadows, walking into the light.
“How did you get passed the…”
“Virus detectors, yeah I know how to disable those. Learned about those before you even grabbed me days later.” Midnight said to his former commander.
“YOU SON OF A BITCH! WHY THE HELL DIDN’T YOU REPORT THIS TO ME RIGHT AWAY!” Mac yelled.
“Oh, I didn’t want to take the chances of getting killed or have to endure the most painful process that the last guy went through. Besides, I kinda like it, and you tried to turn me against the one I think I love the most, you sick bastard.” he said to Mac in a more mellow but angry tone. Mac looks at him confused.
“What are you talking about? Your mind was completely wiped.” Big Mac said with an annoyed tone.
“Oh really, well some memories can never be lost. They may be distant at times, but they will stay. I placed the most current memories, before being mind wiped or whatever you call it, in the furthest recesses of my mind, which your brainwashing device failed to reach,” Midnight retorted, chuckling in a tone that gave Mac some level of discomfort.
Midnight then vanishes and runs to find the one he’d fought earlier that day.
Twilight 1st Person POV
We found an empty garage to an empty house and decided it would work for now. “I wonder what Midnight is doing right now?” I asked myself worriedly.
“Ah don’t know sugarcube, he’s probably on the way to report to them Blackhoof folks,” Applejack said in a tone almost the same as my own.
As soon as she finished speaking, I heard someone running down the road in the rain to notice that it was Midnight. I ran out into the rain noticing that he had no weapons and as I got closer he stopped, his arms turned into claws.
“Midnight, it’s me Twilight. What are you doing out here?” I called out to him.
Midnight turned around slowly, “Thank you,” Midnight stated with an unexpectedly happy tone.
“Why are you thanking me?” I ask with a confused look.
“When you slashed my leg and injected the virus, I gained the same abilities you now have. You saved me and got back my most recent memories before they swiped me up off the street against my will,” he told me, placing an arm over my shoulders comforting me as he noticed the others in the abandoned garage and led me back to the others and said, “I’m sorry about the other day.”
“I did that when I struck at your legs? I thought I just hit your leg without injecting anything at all, I had no idea I could do that,” I told Midnight.
“Yeah, I had no idea either,” he said, the eight of us laughing.
I began to sense something coming our way, we had no choice but to run as it was the brawlers that began chasing us. We used our claws to slash and hack through the ones that got in our way.
We stopped to see that we were chased right to the hive that was there, seeing that the military and Blackhoof officials were also there attacking the hive. “What the fuck are we going to do now?” Midnight asked.
“We go through those fuckers. They took the crusaders, were going in to get them out,” Rainbow said, her hot headed persona once again kicking in.
Queen 3rd Person POV
The equines were more persistent than she ever thought. Her reign had just started when the pathetic creatures already started to break into one of her glorious hives. The Queen began pacing back and forth, trying to figure out what drives them to find her and free the three fillies that she had captured, her anticipation building as the ponies get closer to breaking in. While normally this would be a time for panic, she was calm and contained. Because she was never in this particular hive no she was seeing this one through the eyes of one of her many subjects. Her anticipation soon climaxed when she saw several armor clad ponies appear in front of her.
“FREEZE YOU FREAK!” The leader shouted. The Queen then turned in mock surrender. Then after the ponies had gotten closer, she turned back to them using several tendrils, throwing them against the wall. “You fools, you think you can stop me? How adorable the thought is.” She laughed as she said this. The group was soon absorbed by The Queen’s host, and thereby The Queen herself. She soon looked through their memories she saw the stallion that demanded the fillies from earlier has broken away from her former sister’s organization. She chuckled silently to herself as the host soon became useless and she soon left for one of her many other hives. Your turn she thought silently.
Twilight 1st person POV
We cut through the monsters in the red zone that tried to stand in our way. It felt amazing. Fluttershy, still enraged by the thought of Angel, was slashing through the beasts faster than any of us could have imagined, clearing a path for the rest of us while we kept the rest at bay in the back.
“NOW THIS IS MY KIND OF FUN TWILIGHT!” Rainbow called out as she sliced a brawler’s head clean off his body with her claws.
“Is this all they got? Ah swear they were tougher earlier. What happened to them that made them so weak?!” Applejack exclaimed shredding another brawler to bits using her claws.
“OH! Do any of you think we can play with their bodies after we’re done with them?!” Pinkie asked, a little too enthusiastically for my tastes, as she opened up a brawler and ate it’s insides with her tendrils.
“Oh my, just look what you beast are doing to my coat. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Oh wait, you can’t feel shame because you are all dying.” Rarity said sarcastically slicing another brawler in half.
“And to think you once gave us so much trouble,” Spike said as he tore through several Brawlers at once.
“Hell, I never thought tearing through these fuckers would be so much fun,” Midnight said, allowing Rainbow’s hot headed persona to wear off on him as he hacked into another group. We were so occupied I almost didn’t notice a giant blob of muscle falling towards us.
“LOOK OUT!” I yelled as I pushed them out of the way. The beast landed on me, but I pushed his fists away and got a full look at him. The beast was about twice the size of a brawler, and much stronger. He was very angry from the looks of it. His strength showed when he plowed into a building, leveling nearly half of it.
“WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING?!” Midnight yelled.
“I DON’T KNOW BUT IT’S TOUGHER THAN THE OTHERS!” I shouted as it started to charge at us.
“WHAT EVER IT IS I SURE DON’T WANT TO STAND AROUND AND FIND OUT!” Spike yelled out.
“LET’S JUST GET TO THE DAMNED HIVE AND GET THOSE FILLIES OUT OF THERE, WE CAN WORRY ABOUT CRANKY LATER!” Rainbow shouted.
AH’M GOIN’ WITH DASH ON THIS ONE, LETS JUST GET IN THERE AND GET MINE AND RARITY’S SISTER OUTTA THERE, LETS NOT FORGET SCOOTALOO!” Applejack shouted in response.
Before we knew it we were already face to face with the hive, and knowing our abilities we ran up the wall to the roof of the infested building, once we were on top of the building there was a brawler that had charged us as we closed our eyes bracing for impact we suddenly hear a sickening ‘CRACK!’.
we open our eyes to see that Midnight had thrown the brawler through the roof and left a hole for us to be able to enter, as soon as we were in I heard another brawler charging and devoured it to see where the fillies were in the hive.
I notice that once the flashback was finished I look at my tail to see that it had turned into a whip, and I gave it a good swing and at the length of its reach was a loud ‘CRACK!’ then began slinging brawlers to the side easily clearing a path to the fillies.
Once we made it to where the fillies were imprisoned Applejack tore through the wall of their slimy cell, opening the way for the fillies to escape.
“Now lets get out of here, Midnight you still got that grapple gun of yours?” I asked.
“Yeah, why?” Midnight responded.
“The fillies are going to need it to escape” I tell him “we can use the tendril whip to get out.”
With that he hands off the grapple gun to the fillies and they aim directly for the ledge that was created upon the entry created by a brawler being smashed through it and zip together out of the hole and peer over the edge watching us.
The rest of us used the tendril whip to pull ourselves out of the hive, and on top of the building we were in.
Once outside there were eight brawlers at the least, one for each of us to kill.
Applejack uses her claws to shred hers to bits and hollers “THEY CALL THIS A RODEO, HAH, MORE LIKE A CIRCUS!”
Pinkie just rips her opponent in two as she smiles sadistically.
Dash used her tendril whip to slice through her opponent with ease and just laughed.
I threw mine to Pinkie and she, of course, used her strength to split it in two with a single punch.
Spike tortured his foe, tearing it limb from limb, laughing as it died slowly and painfully.
Fluttershy used ‘THE STARE’ to pierce into the very soul of the beast, causing it to back down and run away.
Rarity just sliced hers to bits and pieces near perfect for a puzzle.
Midnight Devoured his to gather information in the huge beast they’d encountered earlier.
After a minute of pain and suffering he said “That huge fucker we saw today is a Juggernaut, speaking of which… HERE HE COMES!”
We all dive out of the way causing the juggernaut to miss and we all hit him with our tendril whips each grabbing a limb, pulling with all we’ve got we rip him in half.
“Well, now we know we can kill those bastards.” Rainbow said, hugging scootaloo close “I’m just happy that these little fillies are okay”
Applebloom went running up to Applejack hugging her and said “I knew you’d come for us.”
All Applejack could say is “And that we did.” as she returned her sisters embrace.
“SWEETIE BELLE!” was all Rarity could let out as she embraced her sister.
All Sweetie belle did was return her embrace sharing her sisters emotion
“Well Midnight, I really did a number on ya back there so I guess were together forever now.” I said as I pulled him into a loving embrace which he gracefully returned.
“Forever and always.” Midnight answered.
After a moment of happy reunions, “ Okay we need to get out of here before we attract any unwanted attention.” I said to the rest of the group, and we were gone.
Big Mac, 3rd person POV
“Okay all I know is that one of the hives were destroyed, but I want to know what attacked on the inside.” Mac said solidly “Bring in the new guy.”
“Yes sir.” replied Trixie
Trixie takes off to the barracks to fetch the new specialist among their ranks.
Mist Shaker, 3rd person POV
“Hey Mist.” Trixie called out peering into Mist's room “Commander want’s a word with you.”
“M-me, he wants to talk to me.” Mist said nervously as he stood from his cot “I hope this is good.”
“Yeah you, who else would he call new guy, huh?” Trixie stated “so you’d best get to him A.S.A.P.”
Being given his orders he heads out of his room and heads towards the command center.
As Mist walks he thinks to himself Why did I ever get involved?, what is it that brought me here and why does the commander want to talk to me now? , just as he finishes his though he finds himself at the commanders side.
“You wished to speak with me sir?” Mist said to Mac.
“Did you know that we lost our best agent just two weeks ago?” Mac asked inquisitively.
“No sir, I didn’t’ Mist replied “what are you trying to say?”
“What Ah am saying is that you are his replacement, as we know you're his brother even though he may not remember, you obtain the same skill he had. I hate to tell you this kid, but Midnight has turned against us, he was infected by the very beings we are after just the same as the horde is perusing about trying to eliminate them.” Mac said solidly.
“But sir, I can’t kill my own brother, I swore that I would follow him wherever he went, I just can’t do it.” Mist said, rebelling against his commanding officer being his only way to show his loyalty to his family.
“Then we have no need of you any longer, get out of my sight before I chose to kill you myself, you traitorous basta...”Mac said before he felt a hoof land hard across his muzzle, that hoof being Mists
“You tried to get me to kill my brother against my will, you sick fuck.” Mist said angrily.
With that Mist walked out of the room with nothing to say.
Family Reunion.... Harsh Circumstances
Mist Shaker 3rd POV
Mist was walking alone, he had been silently escorted out of Blackhoof headquarters and he kept walking, searching for his brother, Midnight Star, hoping that he would find him soon.
'Fucking Blackhoof bastards, trying to get me to kill my own brother.' Mist thought to himself. 'I'll kill them all just to prove my loyalty to my family, but I need to find Midnight and make sure he's still alive.'
Upon Mist's removal from Blackhoof, he was forced to turn in his uniform, weapons and all, leaving no trace of him being a Blackhoof official, therefore, also leaving him unarmed.
For days he searched without success, he was starving, nearly collapsing with every step. He wouldn't last much longer unless he found his brother. One day, he collapsed, not knowing that his brother was nearby.
"M-Midnight… help… me." Mist called out weakly before passing out.
Twilight 1st POV
It had been several days since Midnight had joined our ranks, no doubt thanks to me, but I guess it was meant to happen.
"You know, it's been hard just to survive now that this has happened to us, being prototypes of the virus." I said to Midnight. "It's been hard for all seven of us since before you joined us."
Midnight was about to answer when his ears perked. "Did you hear that?" He said. "Sounded like somepony was calling to me for help but the call was weak, but we should still investigate."
I turned immediately and looked down the street behind me and saw nopony, so I walked down the street a ways, but not out of earshot, to see if I could find anypony.
I was heading back when I heard "Over here!" I bolted in the direction of the call and found Rainbow carrying a pony on her back, unconscious.
"Who's that?" I asked curiously.
"Dunno, let's just get him to safety though, looks like he's been starving himself for some reason." She replied.
Midnight looked at the stallions face before he had a look of disbelief on his face. "No… it can't be."
"What can't be?" I asked.
"Th-this is… my little brother." Midnight said as a tear ran down his cheek. "T-to think… I'd see him in such a miserable condition. We need to get him back to good health." I was nervous about welcoming a new pony into our little group but this pony looked like he’d been through the meat grinder of some sick weather facility.
“Where would we be safe until he has recovered?” Spike asked with the same concern for this pony as I have, maybe even more concern than I.
“I don’t know.” I replied, for the first time since this had happened, I truly had no idea where we could go to remain safe so that we could get the pony we found back in good health. I considered the hospital for a while but then I remembered that Blackhoof was probably watching those like a hawk. I then thought about some of the shelters the city had but once again Blackhoof would’ve had watches around those as well. It just seemed hopeless until Rainbow poked me.
“You know we could always hide him out in my old place here. It’s not that far actually.” She told us as she pointed out a hotel not that far from where we were. I smiled and thanked her before she picked him up and placed him over her shoulders. She flew off to the hotel before I turned back to Midnight.
Mist Shaker 3rd POV
Mist began to wake, noticing that he was no longer on the ground but in a bed. “Wh-Where am I? Where’s Midnight?”
“You are safe and in good hooves, Midnight, your brother, will be here soon, he’s on his way with the others.” A cyan mare replied. “What’s your name.”
“Mist… just call me Mist.” he replied weakly due to his starved condition.
“I’m Rainbow Dash, you’re in my old hotel room. You’ll be safe here while you are recovering.” Dash stated, looking at Mist with gentle magneta colored eyes.
“Thanks for the help Rainbow.” Mist said as he tried to stand up only to be greeted by a sharp pain in his gut.
“Um dude... I wouldn’t move until that scar in your gut is looked at. It really looked nasty.”
“Gee thanks.”
It wasn’t long until the rest of the group had arrived, Midnight immediately rushing to his brother’s side. “Mist, thank Faust you’re alive. What happened to you?” Midnight asked, nearly breaking down as he asked.
“M-Midnight… It was Blackhoof, they fired me because they wanted me to kill you and your friends… and I refused.”
“Y-You refused to follow orders… for me… for all of us?” Midnight asked, his voice wavering as tears welled in his eyes again.
“Yeah… I even said I’d kill all of Blackhoof just to protect you after being escorted from the building, but nopony heard me, I hope.” He said. What none of them noticed however was that, outside Rainbow’s apartment, a hunter was listening. The moment they finished talking it took a giant leap and landed on the ground. It then jumped from the building and arrived at a huge hive. It looked around before finding an opening and squeezed in through it.
“Mist, right now, you just need to rest and we’ll find something for you to eat.” Midnight said. “Just lay back down and rest.”
Mist nodded and laid back down. “M-Midnight?”
“Mhm?”
“Will somepony be staying to keep watch over me?”
It wasn’t Midnight who answered but I. “Of course one of us will be keeping watch over you, we all will, while we go out one of us will stay behind to keep an eye on you.”
“Thank you for the help by the way .” Mist said as he smiled a little.
"Any time." I replied then looked at Dash. "Hey, you wouldn't mind staying here with Mist a while longer while we go and get him something to eat, would you?"
"I wouldn't mind." Dash replied.
"I'm staying as well, to keep my little brother company, be there for him when he needs me." Midnight said stepping up beside the bed where his brother lay.
"Very well Midnight, I respect your need to accompany your brother and your need to see him through to his recovery." I replied. "Just stay out of trouble."
“We will Twilight, trust me.” Midnight replied from his place beside Mist.
After that was said, all but Rainbow Dash and Midnight left, the two remaining behind to stay with Mist. Dash looked at Midnight with a pained expression in her eyes. “L-Listen, I’m sorry that you had to see your brother like this, I know I had nothing to do with the cause of it, but I still feel so sorry for him since I found him, but if I hadn’t then he would have…” She stopped before saying anything else, fearing that she might upset Midnight.
“You saved his life when you found him and I appreciate your sympathy and concern, thank you.” Midnight replied. Rainbow smiled a little at this before she heard something outside. She looked and saw that there were some infected outside the building.
“Yeah that’s great um we gotta go… like now.”
Mist Shaker 3rd P.O.V.
“W-wait… what’s going on? Is something wrong?” Mist asked, slightly panicking as he haphazardly attempted to sit up again only to fall back writhing in pain.
“Just a few unwanted ‘visitors’, that’s all. We’ll be back real soon.” Rainbow replied as she headed out the door.
“Don’t worry, Mist. It’s nothing we can’t handle.” Midnight assured as he followed.
Outside the hotel were at least four to six hunters which, within a matter of minutes, were dispatched quickly. What both Dash and Midnight didn’t expect is the sound of shattering glass and a few shotgun blasts followed by the roar of a dying hunter that had somehow slipped past them during the confrontation. “Mist!” The two cried as they ran back into the room to find Mist unconscious with a SPAS-12 semi-automatic shotgun in his hooves and a dead hunter on the floor.
Midnight rushed over to Mist, followed by Rainbow, the two silently praying that the hunter hadn’t harmed him.
The first thing that broke the silence, which made the two gasp, was. “M-Midnight… Rainbow… I-is that… you?” Mist asked weakly from encounter and the consequences he suffered.
“We’re here, Mist. We’re here.” Midnight replied sounding on the verge of tears. “D-did you… kill that hunter, with this?” he asked as he held up the shotgun.
“I… I think so.” Mist replied before his face screwed tight as a sharp pain resonated from his stomach and shoulder, causing him to take notice that his shoulder was out of it’s socket and his leg was broken. “OH FAUST IT HURTS! MY BUCKING LEG! MAKE IT STOP!” He cried.
Twilight Sparkle 1st P.O.V.
Not moments after Mist Shaker’s cry of pain did the others and I walk in. “We heard the shots, what happened?!” I asked. “What happened to Mist?!”
“We were attacked by a few hunters, we killed them quickly but one managed to slip past us and break in.” Midnight replied, pointing at the dead hunter.
I then looked at dead hunter on the floor. “Did he… kill it?” I gestured to Mist, who was still crying in pain.
“Apparently, now we need to get his injuries taken care of.” Rainbow replied. “His shoulder is out of socket and his stomach has a nasty scar in it.”
“Right, let me see how bad things really are.” I said as I made my way up to the bedside. While there was a scar on Mist’s stomach and his shoulder was out of place, what Rainbow missed was that the limb was actually broken. “You missed something Dash, not only is it out of place, but his dislocated limb is also broken.”
“What do you me-... Oh.” Dash replied as a brought her around to look closely at where the foreleg was broken.
“Alright, Mist. This is gonna hurt, probably a lot, but it will be necessary. I’m gonna put your shoulder back in. Everypony else, I’m gonna need you to hold him down so I can ensure that this works.” I said as I took hold of the broken foreleg in my magic.
“C’mon, you heard her.” Applejack stated, pinning Mist to the bed with her hooves, followed by Pinkie, Midnight, Rarity, Spike, Rainbow, then Fluttershy. “Alright Twi, do your thing.”
I nodded, hoping it would work, placing the limb in it’s proper position before pulling it until it slid into place with a loud pop, causing Mist to jolt and howl loudly with pain, but the others kept him pinned. Then I immediately set to work on setting the bone back in place. “Dash, I need you to find something to wrap his foreleg with so we can keep the bone from slipping out while it’s healing.”
Right as I said this, Dash bolted into the bathroom and came out with a few thick rolls of gauze and ace bandages, which I took and began wrapping the limb.
A few hours later, Mist’s foreleg was back in place and wrapped to keep the bone from slipping out, I looked at the scar but couldn’t tell what had caused it. I then turned to Midnight with a sorrowful look. “We’ll have to turn him and take our chances, if we don’t he could very well die from whatever caused the scar.”
“I understand. Do what you must.” Midnight replied. “Though turning him won’t repair a broken limb immediately, it should take a few days rather than a month or so.”
I nodded and used my claw, hollowed out to allow the virus to be injected slowly, and pressed the tip into Mist’s flesh and began injecting him with the same strain of the virus we had.
Suddenly, the scar had vanished, whatever caused it had been purged and Mist had shown signs of inheriting our abilities.
“D-did it work?” Midnight asked.
“Yes… it did.” I replied. “But he’ll need his rest, so let’s go ahead and do the same ourselves.”
“Good idea.” Applejack replied, finding a comfortable spot on a nearby couch, her example followed by the rest of us except Midnight, who laid on the floor next to Mist. I wanted to be next to Midnight but I knew that his brother needed him more right now so I decided to sleep on the cold ground myself.
Mist Shaker 3rd P.O.V.
While the others slept peacefully, Mist slept with nightmares plaguing his mind.
Mist Shaker 1st P.O.V.
It started out as a wonderful day in Manehattan for us all, we were just visiting friends and family. Little did I expect to be kidnapped along with my brother that day, but as I was saying, me, My brother Midnight, Twilight and her friends were all having a great time.
That was until some ponies in black SUVs showed up and nabbed both me and my brother. “What in hell is going on here?!” I yelled, but the only response I got was an explosion of pain and sudden unconsciousness. I woke up a moment later but not in a clean room or anything pony made but instead I woke up what could only be described as the inside of a giant creature. I at first thought I WAS inside something but then I heard a small chuckle and turned around. I was face to face with none other than the mad queen herself.
In a desperate attempt to get away, I ran for what I thought would have been the nearest exit before it slammed shut in my face. I then spotted another exit on the opposite end of the room but I knew I would never make it in time before she caught me so I, no matter how foolish it seemed, prepared to attack before I found myself bound by multiple slimy tendrils that, slowly but surely, began crawling under my skin as she began tearing me apart.
Twilight 1st P.O.V.
I awoke to hear Mist moaning in his sleep before his moans elevated to what sounded like screams of pain. I quickly awoke Midnight and the two of us shook Mist until he awoke. Mist bolted upright, breathing heavily as a heavy sheen of sweat covered his fur.
“Mist what’s wrong?” I asked him as he wiped the sweat from his brow.
“N-nothing. Nothing’s wrong.” He told me, but the way he said it sounded like he went through Tartarus and back.
“Mist, you know I can tell when you aren’t telling the truth. Out with it.” Midnight said sternly.
“I-It was just a bad dream, that’s all, nothing to worry about.” Mist replied.
“Must’ve been quite a nightmare if you were screaming in your sleep like something was killing you.” Midnight said in turn to Mist’s response.
“You’ll have to talk about it sometime, Mist. If you don’t it could continue happening.” I said to Mist, who just laid back down and closed his eyes.
“Give him some time Twilight. He’s just been through a lot.” Midnight told me as he also fell back to sleep. I sighed and wondered when this whole insanity was going to end as I headed back to my own bed.
Broken, Beaten, and Scarred
Twilight 1st P.O.V.
I don’t know what Mist had dreamed, but I knew it wasn’t good. I would get him to talk about it one way, or another, but I can’t just sit idly by and let things get out of hand. Tomorrow… Tomorrow I would ask him about it again, I would force it out of him if I could. I might have even considered taking him to Luna if it hadn’t been for us being prototypes of the virus, they’d attack us on sight. Unless… yes… that’s it. We will disguise ourselves as Blackhoof soldiers just to get the truth from Luna.
As I thought this over, I closed my eyes and fell silently into a deep sleep, contemplating how to procure the disguises without raising an alarm.
Early the next morning I awoke before everypony else, so I stepped outside to get some fresh air and wait until the others woke up.
Luna 3rd P.O.V. Blackhoof Headquarters
Luna; CEO, senior representative and owner of Blackhoof, was beginning to get frustrated with the lack of ability to find out why the newest member of their ranks had betrayed her for the prototypes.
Just as she was about to shout in frustration, Big Mac entered. “Princess, I apologize for my informant’s lack of giving full detail. I came to ease your stress with a more detailed report.”
“Enlighten me.” Luna replied.
Mac started explaining the aforementioned report, telling of the exact reason that Mist had betrayed them and pointed to his still bruised jaw. “That is where he struck me before he was escorted out of the building. I have no further information on his current whereabouts at this time but we will continue searching.”
“Good, have your men bring them in when you find them. I want to know more about them before we kill them.” Luna ordered.
Mac nodded and left immediately to relay the given orders.
Later that day, Twilight 1st P.O.V.
All of us but Mist was awake, seeing as Mist had been put through hell yesterday with having been found starving and near dead on the street and then having to deal with a hunter attack that caused him a broken and dislocated foreleg. We figured we would let him rest for now.
Once I was ready to explain my plan as far as where we were going, I began where I knew would be best, the beginning. As I explained, I had a few of my friends look at me like I was up to something strange, but didn’t question it until they heard about going back to Blackhoof.
“What?!” Dash screeched. “You expect us to go back to that hell hole?! Are you out of your mind Twi?! They’ll kill us!”
“No, I’m not out of my mind, I have a plan that will keep us safe. All we have to do is make sure we don’t blow our cover.” I retorted, giving Rainbow a warning glare. “And next time you tell me I’m out of my mind, I’ll show you out of my mind.”
Rainbow huffed,, but seemed to back off a bit at the warning.
“Ya know Twi, that does seem a bit… absurd, but I’m not gonna argue.” Applejack interred.
“I know you all are uncomfortable with going back, but there are things that I need to know, what it is I cannot yet divulge to you.” I stated. “I myself am uncomfortable with it, but I need to get the information I need for specific reasons.”
“I’ve trusted you before Twilight, I’ll trust you again.” Midnight said, knowing exactly what she was meaning, though not voicing it.
The rest of the group said nothing.
“We move in four hours so get ready.” I said, then looked at Midnight. “You’ll have to help Mist get ready, he can’t do it with a broken leg.”
“Alright.” Midnight replied as he then headed over to the bed and woke Mist and helped him out of bed. “Somepony will have to carry him, so it might as well be me.” he added as he lifted Mist onto his back.
“Wh-what’s going on? Is every…” Mist started groggily but was hushed.
“Shhh… not now, everything is going to be alright.” Midnight quickly replied.
“Midnight you got Mi-... hold up, something is wrong.” I said as I noticed Pinkie’s Pinkie Senses acting up and looked out the window to see a canister of gas specially made to knock out prototypes such as ourselves had been launched at the windows. “Gas! Get some cover!”
By the time I had shouted this, it was already too late. Blackhoof had found us and we were already being affected by multiple canisters of the gas and unfortunately, Fluttershy was the first to fall unconscious, followed by Rarity, Spike, Mist, Applejack, Pinkie, Rainbow, Midnight, and then myself.
I awoke several hours later, hell, maybe even a day later, to see that I was held in a very odd looking cell, one that looked like it could withstand any of my attacks. I soon found out that it was electrified as I struck the wall and was electrocuted for a moment, I began to fear that there would be no way out of the mess we were now in, ready to accept whatever fate awaited us.
It was until Dash awoke and felt the same before thinking of the crusaders that she felt a sliver of hope. “Hey, don’t give up just yet, we may still have a way out. The crusaders are still out there, remember. We got them to safety back at Ponyville by putting them on a train as soon as we got out of the hive with them.”
It suddenly hit me that Dash was right, Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle and Applebloom had been sent back to Ponyville on an anonymous train, unable to be tracked by a spell that Sweetie had learned. “That’s it. Spike, You can still send letters right?”
“I don’t know, Twilight. I haven’t done that in a long time, I can still try though.” Spike replied.
I nodded then pulled a roll of parchment out of a slip space that I had learned of and began writing a letter to Sweetie. Once I had finished, I handed the letter to Spike and he let of a purple flame, I don’t know how he learned to change the color of his flames, but the letter was sent.
All we could do was hope that Sweetie and her friends would get the letter and take the very next train to Manehattan, in Blackhoof uniforms. They will have to do a lot of work just to get to us this time.
My thoughts were interrupted as I heard the cell door open and close and the very distinct sound of hoof steps.
“So… Twilight… How does it feel to be seen as a monster?” The pony’s voice said in a very familiar accent.
“Oh… I think the abilities that come with it are what make up for it though. So, Luna...” I said with disregard for formalites. “How does it feel to have the elements turned against you, to have your sister turned against you?”
“My sister died a long time ago Twilight Sparkle. You and the other elements are nothing more than beasts who need to be put down… like we did your brother.” Luna said as she smirked against me. This caused my heart to stop for a moment. This… this bitch she… she took my… my own bucking brother from me…. Shining was…. no she was lying. She was just trying to get under my skin.
“No! That’s not true!” I screamed, lashing out but finding myself restrained. “I will find him!” Luna just kept her smirk.
“Oh? Don’t believe me? I understand so I’m going to do you a favor… I’m going to show you his remains.” Luna said
“Liar! You lying bitch! You couldn’t have killed him!” I continued to scream, my voice getting hoarse as tears began rolling down my cheeks. “I swear to any ethereal beings out there, if you killed him I will rip you to shreds!” I roared at her. Luna only snapped her fingers and dragged in a struggling Blackhoof officer. Then she did something that puzzled me for a few seconds…. she released me from my clamps.
“I do believe Sergeant Broken Glass has something to share with you…. after all he was the one who killed Shining Armor.”
I said nothing as I boiled with rage, ready to strike at a moments notice. “Please I-I was only under-” whatever else he was going to say was drowned out as I tore open his chest cavity. I tore at him with my claws absorbing his memory…. no…. no no no. I-I feel the cold trigger that was pressed in order to… to… THIS MOTHER BUCKER!
Luna only laughed as I stood there, unmoving. I soon turned to her to make my move against her, but found myself once again locked in the clamps. “YOU BITCH, I’M GOING TO BUCKING KILL YOU AND FEED YOU TO THE RATS!” I screeched at the top of my lungs before collapsing in tears as Luna left.
“Twilight are you…. are you okay?” Spike asked although he knew the answer to it… I was far from alright.
“Do I look like I’m okay?” I growled, since raising my voice would only cause me to lose it.
Spike shrunk back, ushering the others away, knowing how I would react at the moment. This wasn’t just my emotions washing over me, this was the spark of an unending blood-lust.
“Best leave her be right now guys.” Spike warned. “Last time she got like this is when she found out about her parents. chewed me up and spit me out every time I got near her.”
“I know, Spike. I was there when she found out, she clung to me like a life tether no matter how she acted though.” Midnight replied. “But I don’t know if…” I heard Midnight start to say, but I interrupted.
“I did that because... you were t-the... only one there that... I could go to for support... w-when I found out.” I whimpered. “A-and I need... you now, a-all of... you... I’m not going... t-to lash out... at you.”
“We’ll make them pay for what they did to Shining Armor, Twi.” Rainbow said as she moved closer to me.
The others followed suit… except one. Dash noticed the same problem. “Umm, guys… where’s Mist?”
“What do you me…” Midnight said as he looked around to see that Mist was, in fact missing. Until we all heard shouting from down the hall, or rather, screams of agonizing pain.
Mist Shaker 3rd P.O.V.
All that could be heard from Mist’s solitary cell was the sound of him screaming bloody murder as Luna stood by, watching her highest ranking officers beating him like an animal, re-breaking his foreleg and causing several broken ribs and one of his hind legs, making it painful just to breathe when they stopped their onslaught.
“So… you thought you could betray me without paying for it, did you?” Luna questioned the severely injured stallion.
Mist tried to reply, but was in too much pain, whimpering loudly before letting off another scream as Luna stepped on his broken leg, crushing the bone even more than what it was.
“Worthless…” Luna scoffed as she walked out. “Take him to the group cell and put him there with the others.”
Twilight 1st P.O.V.
We soon found out what the cause of the screams of agony had been from when we saw Mist get tossed into the cell, the young stallion had had the hell beaten out of him, I saw where his ribs were broken and saw that the bastards had rebroken his leg. Mist was a bloody mess . Fluttershy had immediately fainted at the sight of his injuries and Midnight had flown into a flurry of rage, shouting incoherently, as he saw his brother’s condition. Midnight suddenly charged at the electrified wall, electrocuting himself to the point of unconsciousness.
“Well, anypony else gonna act out?” I asked, though I already knew the answer, I couldn’t heal Mist this time because of a magic disabling field in the cell, so I did the next best thing I could. I lay beside the stallion, watching protectively over him.
