Rarity's Secret
World Shattered
Previous ChapterChapter 2 – World Shattered
Their eyes locked with molten passion before he nuzzled into his lovers neck, the sensation sending shivers of anticipation through the stallion’s body all the way down to his colthood. Moments of total privacy like this, no prying or hateful eyes watching.
Where the two could be alone to enjoy one another were the most precious of all to both of them.
Social standards would never even let them speak a kind word to one another, with one being the next in line for the crown his royal highness and the other to many a nameless servant to the crown. But there was so much more between the two, as a child the prince had not been allowed to leave the castle grounds for his own protection from the outside. He was a sheltered and lonely colt who in his loneliness turned to the only constant companion in his life. A colt slightly younger than he who was charged with keeping the prince’s quarters clean and tidy and to be at his beck and call always.
The minutes quickly turned to hours as I sat there in my tiny sanctuary under the shop, lost in a world of a charming prince and his loyal lover. There had been many tales within the pages of that first volume of Pon/Y/Boy I had stumbled across all those months ago…
A tale of a young Pegasus stallion falling for his noble minded and handsome flight instructor at the academy, one of what could only be compared to Royal Guards doing naughty things on those lonely quiet nights at the castle they guard. There was even a slightly disturbing story of two twin brothers experimenting with each other while their parents were away.
But the story that drew me in the most, it was defiantly the one with the handsome prince and his loyal servant. I had a sent a letter a couple of months ago anonymously to the magazine on how much I adored this story and how much I wished real prince’s we so charming, I suppose I still find myself feeling bitter and disheartened by the whole Blueblood controversy at the Grand Galloping Gala.
It would seem a few ponies on staff felt the same way about the real his royal highness and my letter ended up being printed in last month’s issue. With this issue of the magazine however I had also received another little gift which had me very excited when I first opened my package.
Inside had been the magazine which this month had a handsome black Pegasus on the cover with red bedroom eyes, and a special gift to me was a small figurine of the prince from the story I loved so much. The little pastel blue unicorn figurine now sat upon one of the shelves in the room. The craftsmanship on the figure was truly amazing and as a fellow creative soul I most defiantly could see the level of effort that had been hand painted into every minute detail.
“Oh why couldn’t that real life prince be as charming as I once thought he was handsome?” I thought to myself out loud to no one in particular as I finished reading the latest chapter before using my magic to place the magazine on the shelf next to last month’s issue.
I took one last look around my little sanctuary before I left for bed and I have to say I have become quite proud of my collection of magazines, books and posters. Now my collection had its own crowning gem in the figure of the prince sitting atop the shelf seemingly watching over my own personal kingdom of paradise and yaoi love.
I awoke the next morning to the sound of Opal’s purrs in my ear, as her paws seem to march in place right in my ear. It was her own subtle way of telling me it was time to get up; it seems pets don’t understand the meaning of a Saturday sleep in all she knew was that she got fed every morning at the same time.
“Ok darling I get the point I’m up I’m up” I grumble at her as I walk over to my on suite bathroom and wash my face as well as brush my mane to make myself somewhat decent.
As I make my way down stairs I hear the papercolt drop off the morning paper and collect my copies of the Ponyville Express as well as The Canterlot Times, something I also have delivered to my home because it’s a good way to up with what’s on trend in Canterlot and has the juiciest of gossip columns.
As I float the two newspapers from my doorstep I notice two ‘friends’ from Canterlot on the front page of the times, Uppercrust and Jetset obviously posing for the camera. An annoyed meow behind me however stops me from reading as two why the two snobs are on the front cover.
I prepare Opal’s breakfast after placing the papers on the kitchen table. Her breakfast always consists of the finest cat food and a small saucer of milk as I begin to make my own breakfast. I don’t feel like anything too heavy this morning so I fix myself a warm cup of Canterlot Breakfast tea with lemon and some multigrain toast with my favourite berry jam on it.
As I sat down at the table to eat my toast and drink my tea I hovered the Canterlot Times into my view, wondering why in Celestia those two were on the cover. The picture showed the two of them not looking too happy, with what looked to be a petition; the title of the article was ‘Equestrian Morality Fading’
I had to scoff at the thought of those two talking about morals, after the way they had treated both me and my friends at their Garden Party I just found it hard to believe they had any kind of moral standing other than staying within the good books of others within high class pony society.
I slowly began to read the article as I drank my tea, the article spoke of ‘dangerous reading material that put the morals and ethics of young colts and fillies down a slippery slope of lust and other carnal sins’. This line in particular reminded me of the love potion spell SweetieBelle and her friends had found and used on their teacher and Applejack’s brother BigMac on Hearts and Hooves Day, truth be told I had to agree that such a dangerous delusion of love and lust could never end well for those involve, false love just seemed from the outside extremely unsatisfying and downright depressing.
“I certainly would not want such spells or potions falling into my sister or other foals hooves again” I mutter to myself causing Opal to look up from her milk before wandering out of the room, no doubt for her first of many morning naps.
As I continued reading however I soon discovered the issue at hand was not dangerous spells or mind altering potions, it was something much closer to home for myself, this partition to save the morality of ponies was against the sale of yaoi and other kind of adult magazines, books, stories and other media.
In the sheer shock of reading this I lost control of my magic and my cup of tea smashed on the ground below me and my innocent thoughts of my hobby with it.
Was like Yaoi a bad thing?
I mean I knew that there were things in those stories that I would never want my sister to see, or my family and friends to know I read and enjoyed, and there was also a moral issues with the subject matter of some stories. The whole brother incest thing I’ll admit was not my thing and of course as moral issue I knew incest was wrong, and if I thought about it was it really ethical for a flight instructor with many years of seniority…realistically it wasn’t exactly right for them to have a relationship with a student.
Then I thought back to my favourite story with the prince and the only thing I could really think wrong with that story was the whole him having to lie to others of who he really was. The whole not loving his fiancé thing didn’t exactly bother me, but her character was obviously written to be hated by the reader so it was supposed to be that way right?
“Am I a bad pony for liking this?” I look up and stare at Opal who is sitting on the table nibbling at my forgotten toast and I then stare down at the mess on the floor, I need to clean up.
