What Came Before
A few hundred years after my return, during the age of grand technological developments, our neighbors, the zebra and gryphons, attacked. Their goal: to wipe us out or enslave us and take out land. What they didn't expect was our own develpments, which we call magitech, and the cunning abilities of our fellow bison.
The conflict was rough, lasting many years as we defeated many of them and they killed many of us. They didn't hold back with their deadly weaponry. We used non-lethal magic in order to destroy their tech and knock them unconsious. We won nonetheless.
Seeing how hateful they were when we had overrun everything they had, which had all been diverted to military purposes, we knew they would seek vengeance. So we put them on the ships we had built and sent them away to start anew.
Despite knowing it would be nearly impossible to find us again, we also knew that they would hunt for us. In case they ever found us again, we developed the orbital defense stations and massive ships, and better ground military, all still non-lethal.
Many hundreds of years have passed since the war, and we have expanded all over the planet in a grand trade empire known as the Global Equestrian Empire. Peace and harmony rule with me an my sister, Princess Celestia. But I had the vision... that it will all end soon... that they will return with their own massive fleet...
