As she woke again she felt cold metal restraining her. Fastening her hooves to the ground, her back to the wall, her wings where pressed apart and her jaw clamped firmly shut. She was also blindfolded. This was what she saw every day, but she heard different, each day they would send in someone to feed her, a different one each time. Sometimes they would try talking to her, making her feel better or convincing her to escape. She never talked during the meal times. She was never allowed to see light, or others or even use a bathroom. She was to live the rest of her life here, or until they said otherwise. She knew that she was meant to die here, but she also knew that she would have to be granted a trial before the full sentence.
I was trained for death, not life. Everything about me revolves around that one state, Death; even now it comes for several others and me. She thought. She had long since made a plan to escape, but it was a silly children’s dream. There was no escape, not unless her sisters and brothers came for her, but she knew that they wouldn’t. She knew the code as well as the next. Don’t try to rescue captives. And now she saw why, clear as day. She had screwed up, and was now paying for it with her life. As she continued to drift in thought, the door opened, no noise was made as the stranger walked across the room. Only when they stood directly in front of her did she realize that they where there. Not from breath, nor shuffle, but a feeling of proximity and personal space. They stood there for what seemed like a lifetime, but in all reality was only a few milliseconds.
“Really fucked up now didn’t you? Jeez, you know the amount of paperwork that had to be done to cover our sorry hides? You knew that this mission was fruitless but noooo, you had to get the money for your precious animal shelter! Well now those animals are living on there own, even that bunny of yours, what’s its name again? Whatever, she is dead now, eaten by griffins. Damn it! Why couldn’t you listen to us?! You were like a true sister to me! You where the only family I had left!” she stayed silent for two reasons. One; because she was too shocked that he was here, now. Two because she still had the steel locking mask on her jaw.
“I want to hear you answer me,” he said angrily as he pulled out the keys to her mask. He proceeded to unlock and pull off her locking mask. He left the blindfold on, luckily.
“I-I-I don’t know why I took the job” her voice was hoarse, due to not having spoken in so long, “I d-didn’t think—“
“That’s it then. You didn’t think. I should have known. You value those dumb animals more than your own kind. Damn it, damn it all.”
She couldn’t help it, she was a merciless killer, but she still had feelings especially for animals. And it was worse when she realized that he wasn’t getting her out of here. She began to cry, like how she had most of her childhood.
“Don’t think that will work on me. I know all your tricks, and even a few of the ones you didn’t even know you used.” That made her cry harder. “Look, when you go to trial, you have to plead guilty, or your sentence will be much more harsh, if you convince Luna to spare and save you for a time of war, well... you know the rest of that story..”
She finally stopped sobbing long enough to comprehend what was being told to her. “So i-i-if-f I c-can convince her t-that m-my life has-s value, I will l-live?” she needed this confirmed.
“Yes, you will live, under constant watch, but still…”
She simply smiled, her blindfold soaked with tears, she asks him to leave, and to find her a lawyer. With the happy thoughts flowing she remembered when she joined the Creed.
