The Reality of a Dream
On hiatus while rewrites of both submitted and non-submitted chapters are under way, and while other projects are currently receiving more focus than this.
Saving the life of a severely injured stallion found at the edge of the Everfree Forest had not been a part of Fluttershy’s plan for the weekend. But it seems her schedule will have to make some adjustments if she truly wishes to help this pony, who calls himself Andy, get back his memories and recover his place in Equestria. But underneath his extreme case of amnesia there is something very unusual about this particular pony. Every time he sleeps he has increasingly convincing dreams that he is a creature called a human living in a world called “the United States.” These dreams provide the only memories he can find—memories of a dark world filled with a history of war and barbarism. But the world of these dreams must be fantasy because—compared to the peacefulness of Equestria—the very idea of such a place is ridiculous…right?
Andrew Thompson has always lived a very simple life, nothing that would not happen to a normal human being ever occurring to change his life in some spectacular way. It’s not that he was ever afraid of some excitement in his life; he had never held any desire to pursue any course of action that may lead down an unknown path. Then the dreams started coming. Every time Andrew falls asleep his world of earth becomes a fantasy, and a beautiful new world full of magic and peace becomes his reality. Now Andrew’s life has been filled with more excitement than he would have ever thought to ask for as he slowly loses his grasp on reality, and begins to forget just what is real, and what is a dream.
