The Extra Paint Cans

Previous Chapter

My goal wasn’t a big one. Just use the extra paint and paint cans to pain houses and objects pink to advertise the shop, nothing big. That was at least what I thought.

“Let’s see, I have about four cans left… that should be able to cover a few buildings.” I said to myself why Fluttershy just looked at me. I then turned to her.

“Oh, and thank you for your help Fluttershy. I really appreciate it.” I told her. She gave a small smile and walked away. I then trotted back to the store to pick up my remaining paint. I got back quickly, probably because Fluttershy and I aren’t falling over each other. I grabbed the paint cans with my magic and set out on the town.

“That building looks good, but it needs more pink” I said to myself. I used my magic to dip a paint brush into the paint and started to paint the wall. When I finished, I stepped back to aw in my work. Sadly, it just didn’t look right with only one of the walls being pink so I got to work on the next one. After about twenty minutes I finally completed all four walls and it looked okay.

“It’s still missing… something…” I said to myself as I pondered what could I have forgotten to do. I looked up and saw the roof, as brown as it could be. It totally contrasted with the rest of the house. So, I grabbed the brush and set to work again. The roof took a lot less time than the walls, only about eight minutes. Then out from the building came two purple ponies and both had very light blue mane and tail. Bree recognised one of them as Flitter, a regular at the Littlest Candy Shop, one of the only regulars.

“Hi Flitter!” I shouted towards them. Both of them turned to me and saw me with the paint brush. Then they saw their house and they both became shocked.

“How do you like it? Did it myself!” I said in my naive. Both of them said nothing and just looked at me with their mouths open wide.

“Okay… You can thank me later” I said to them as I trotted away. While both of them still in shock about what happened to their house. I moved onto the next house. It was a dull grey one so I knew it needed improvements. Mainly, pink. So I grabbed the paint and grab the brush and got to work. I finished this house in sixteen minutes which was a new record for me. I wanted to see the happy face that saw his new house, but I had work to do so I couldn’t stop.

I painted for hours that day, when I finally made it back to the shop it was nightfall. When I walked in their were a crowd of ponies in the shop. Mr.Bakenswit was over worked and needed help. I got behind the counter.

“I don’t know how you did it Bree… but it worked. You are getting a raise, dearie!” said Mr.Bakenswit after he caught his breath. I smiled and happily did my work, thinking about all the happy ponies with their new pink houses. I realised that I forgot to paint my house…

“At least I still have one paint can left…”
