Chapter 1
"The Gift"

A little over a month has passed since you recovered from your shoulder injury. It’s now December and fall continues to grow colder as Equestria prepares for another winter. But, winter is the last thing on your mind. Hearth’s Warming Day is quickly approaching, and you are really looking forward to spending your first one with Nurse Redheart.
Today is a less than typical Wednesday. Since you got all of your normal work done early, your boss let you go home early, which is just fine by you. Now, you can focus on your holiday preparations. If only you knew what to get for Redheart. You want to get her something really special, but what?
Now that you’re back home, you take a load off on the couch and glancing up at the clock, you see it’s only two. There’s a little over an hour and a half till Redheart will be home from the hospital. You cast out a sigh, as your eye spots the nicely decorated spruce tree, residing in your den.
It was quite a thrill, when you found out Equestria has a similar holiday to that of Christmas on Earth. What made this even better was finding out the ponies also like to have and decorate trees.
For the moment, the tree is only reminding you that you still need to buy a nice gift for your mare. Placing your arms under your head, you lay back on the couch and ponder that very idea. Just what can you get for the most wonderful lady in all of Equestria?
Your thoughts are quickly derailed by a swift elegant knock at your front door. A puzzled look morphs onto your face as you sit up. “Who could that be?” you wonder. It’s too early to be Redheart, and besides, she wouldn’t need to knock, after all, she lives here.
Rising to your feet, you make your way to the front door. After looking through the peephole, you do a double take. There is no way the pony you think you see is actually standing on the other side!
Gripping the knob, you slowly open the door, and to your amazement, you’re eyes weren’t deceiving you. There, standing on the other side is the regally elegant and beautiful, Princess Celestia. It’s been nearly a year since you last looked upon her. You owe your life in Ponyville to her. For it was she that brought you to Equestria in the first place.
Placing your hand across your waist, you very respectfully bow before the co-ruler of Equestria. “Your highness,” you gesture politely.
A soft giggle meets your ears, “Come now, there’s no need to be so formal with me.” Celestia speaks your name and lightly taps her hoof on your shoulder. You slowly look up, making eye contact with her. The princess’s radiant visage once again leaves you nearly speechless. Her wings are fully splayed, her flowing mane and tail flutter gently in the chilly breeze, all while she seems to almost be giving off her own magnificent glow. Your eyes peer at her magenta orbs. They convey a sincere kindness, which is accented by the heartwarming smile on her lips.
Shaking your head, you realize it’s too cold to just stand here on your porch. You stammer a little and gesture, “Won’t you please come inside?”
Celestia’s smile grows. “Thank you, but I cannot stay long.”
The princess lightly trots inside, and you follow closely behind her. Shutting the door, you once again meet her gaze. “Why are you here?”
She places a hoof over her mouth and clears her throat. “With the holiday season coming, I wanted to visit the humans I’ve brought to this world. From the monthly letters I’ve had many of you send me, I know that all of you seem to be really enjoying your lives in Equestria,” Celestia replies, giving you a delighted look.
You nod your head and agree, “Oh yes, I love it here. But I thought your royal duties would keep you too busy to do something like this.”
Celestia shakes her head, and chuckles, “I have royal aids and trusted advisors that help see to my affairs. Besides, I’m the one who spearheaded the movement to bring your kind back to Equestria. It seems only fitting that I personally check up on each and every one of you.”
“You are very kind princess. And, I can assure you, I am very happy here. In fact, I’m in a wonderful relationship, with a very special pony. We’ve been together for a little over nine months now,” you sigh with delight.
She smiles your way. “Yes, you mentioned that in one of your recent letters. Nurse Redheart, right?”
You nod, returning her smile. “Yeah, we’re looking forward to spending our very first Hearth’s Warming Day, together,” you muse.
Celestia’s face lights up. “Oh, that’s right. Speaking of Hearth’s Warming, I have a special gift for you and Redheart. Is she here at the moment?”
You shake your head. “No, she’s still at work. What kind of gift?” you ask with due interest.
The princess’s smile grows. “Here,” she utters, using her magic to present you with a sealed golden trim envelope.
You clutch it gently in your hands. “What’s in here?”
“Two tickets to the Grand Galloping Gala. This year I want the humans I’ve brought to Equestria to attend. It’s my way of officially welcoming all of you. As you may know, many of you have been here for almost a year and in some cases over a year.” she explains jubilantly. Then she remembers another detail. “Oh, I almost forgot, it might interest you to know that this year I’m holding the gala on February 14th, on Hearts and Hooves Day!”
Your eyes widen and you gasp, “The Grand Galloping Gala…on Hearts and Hooves Day?!” You’ve heard about this special event from Redheart and a number of other ponies. It’s one of the most elegant and formal social gatherings in Equestria, hosted once a year in Canterlot, plus this year it’s going to be on a very special holiday! Now, you have two tickets in your hand. Just think how happy this will make Redheart. “Oh my gosh! You’re giving me these tickets?”
She nods. “Why yes, for you and your special somepony. I hope you will both be attending,” Celestia beams.
A big smile forms on your face and you all but cheer, “Yes, we’ll be there!”
“Great! Now if you’ll pardon me, I must be going. I still have quite a few other humans to visit…and that’s just in Ponyville alone.”
You open the door, and bow before the princess. “Of course, thank you…so much!” Your face continues beaming with delight.
Celestia closes her eyes, and replies, “You are quite welcome! I hope you have a joyous holiday season!”
With her peace said, Celestia departs your home. You wave farewell to her and she waves a hoof back, before departing.
Once she is out of sight, you step back inside, and close the door. You flop back onto the sofa, feeling half shocked. Again the words “Grand Galloping Gala” go through your head. This is perfect! You’ve wanted to take Redheart some place really special, to share an evening of fine dining and romantic dancing. What better place to share such a night, then at the gala?
Slowly, you open the envelope. Carefully you reach in and withdrawal the two fancy golden tickets. You grin as you see them shine in the ambient sunlight. Tucking them back into their holder, you set the envelope on the coffee table. It’s quite exciting. While formal gatherings aren’t your true idea of a good time, you’ve often wondered what it’d be like to experience one with the right girl, or in this case mare.
You close your eyes for a moment and imagine what it would be like to take Redheart to such an occasion. You’d be there, dressed in a fancy getup, and she would be dolled up in a very elegant dress. Then the two of you would step onto the dance floor, and share slow dance after slow dance, losing yourselves in each other’s eyes. A warm caress falls across your cheeks, as you momentarily feel lost in your fantasy. Then you quickly break out of it.
A somewhat harsh reality forces you to your feet. It dawns on you, while Redheart has pined about going to the gala, you know she claims to lack a dress fancy enough to attend such a social event.
Then your eyes light up as you are hit with a great idea! You know just the present to get her – a new dress! Plus, you know just the mare to make it for you, Rarity!
Checking the time, you see there is still a little over an hour till Redheart is due home. The perfect time to go see Rarity. You just hope she hasn’t been inundated with a ton of last minute outfit commissions.
Placing your hand on your chin, you figure there is only one way to find out, plus you have another thought. After stopping by Carousel Boutique, you can stop by the hospital and walk Redheart home. It would certainly be a pleasant surprise for her. Besides, like always, you’re really looking forward to seeing her.
Then you get another great idea. Why not save the gala tickets as another Hearth’s Warming gift? You can give them to her and then the dress. Now, if only everything can go as planned.
You quickly hide the tickets, someplace you know she won’t look for them. Then you put on your boots and don your winter coat, knowing that it’s quite cold outside. Once you are all set, you depart the house, securing the door behind you. A big smile remains on your face as you head out.

The soles of your boots crunch on the random patches of snow, still clinging to the roads. Looking around, there is a very festive feel to the air in Ponyville. You see snow covering the grass and buildings throughout the town, and everything seems to be colorfully decorated for the approaching holiday. Looking to the sky, you see only a sparse covering of clouds. It’s quite amazing that the pegasi tend to the weather, and thanks to them, you’re learned every Hearth’s Warming Day is white.
Shaking your head, you refocus on your goal. Your destination is quickly approaching, and there it stands, the elegant and rounded Carousel Boutique.
You walk up and open the door. A bell jingles as you enter. “I’ll be right there,” Rarity’s voice rings, like a beautiful chime.
For a moment you glance around, taking in the décor. It certainly looks like a dressmaker’s shop. Tables and shelves with material, various crafting tools and shears are just some of the items to catch your eye.
Rarity gets up from her sewing machine and daintily trots over to you. Her white body seems to nearly sparkle, while her fancy indigo mane and tail bounce with every step she takes. “Now then, how can I…oh, hello there!” she faintly gasps, seeing that it’s you.
Yes, you know Rarity quite well, of all the tailors in Ponyville she is by far the best and the nicest. You’ve bought plenty of clothes from her, seeing as you only brought a limited number with you, when you left Earth. You’ve also been here with Redheart during the times she’d stop by to admire Rarity’s dresses and purchase the odd accessory or two.
“What can I do for you? Are you here for some new jeans or maybe you’d like something more causal, like some sweat pants,” Rarity chimes, hoping to anticipate your needs.
You smile at her. “Thank you for the offer, but actually Rarity, I’m here looking to get a gift for my special lady,” you grin.
“Oh, you want to get a present for Redheart. Well then, what did you have in mind?” she asks.
You gather your thoughts and clear your throat, “Well, I want to get Redheart a very elegant dress, one she can wear when we go to formal events.”
“Hmmm…does that mean, you’d like one specially made for her?” Rarity inquires, leaning her head toward you.
You nod, and smile, “That’s it exactly. But I want it in time for Hearth’s Warming Day. Would you be able to have it ready in time?”
Rarity smiles grandly. “It won’t be a problem. You just happen to be in luck. Most of my customers placed their special orders last month. Now, there is still about two weeks till Hearth’s Warming Day, so I suppose everypony else is waiting till the last minute, to place any orders.”
You sigh and wipe your forehead. “That’s a relief.”
“Yes but, oh, I’ll need Redheart’s measurements, if I’m to make this especially for her!” Rarity gasps, sounding mildly concerned.
You promptly facepalm, “Rat’s! That’s the one thing I didn’t think about.”
Rarity giggles and smiles your way, “Not to worry, you can always have her stop by later, and I can measure her then.”
A smile reforms on your face. “That’s good. But wait, how can I bring her here without making her suspicious. The only reason you’d need to measure her is if you were making something for her.” You groan for a moment, pondering your options.
“Well, you could always…hmmm,” ponders Rarity. Your face lights up with a clever idea. “What is it?”
“With winter coming, I can tell her I heard that you’re having a special on winter coats. That can be the reason you need her measurements,” you beam, feeling confident your plan will work.
Rarity smiles at you and nods, “That’s a perfect idea, darling. I can back up your story…and well, say the sale is to encourage ponies to get their coats before the brutal cold or winter arrives.”
“That’s brilliant, Rarity!”
“Well, like you, I know how to be clever,” she winks.
You nod, and realize there’s one last detail. “Oh yeah, we need to discuss payment. How much will this dress cost?”
The white unicorn places a hoof to her chin. “Hmmm…let me see…200 bits should cover it, and I ask that my customers pay a 10% deposit, to show they are serious,” she concludes.
Turning to your money pouch, you reach in and fish out coins totaling 20 bits. “Here you are,” you express, handing her the coins.
Rarity clutches them with her magic, and sets them on a nearby table. “Okay then, I’ll get started on the sketches right away. I’ll come up with three possible designs, and you can chose the one you like best. Okay?” She looks at you beaming you a happy smile.
After giving her a nod, you respond, “That sounds great. Well, if you’ll excuse me, I’d better be going. Thank you, Rarity!”
“Anytime!” she chirps gleefully. “Wait, are you going to bring her by this evening? The sooner I get her measurements, the sooner I can get started.”
“Redheart wanted to do some shopping tonight, and I was planning on taking her out to dinner, so we could stop here on the way,” you answer.
“That’ll be fine. Just remember, my shop closes at seven,” Rarity reminds you.
You shake your head, “Not a problem, we’ll stop here first.”
“Sounds great! Well, I’m going to get started on those sketches, I’ve already got some ideas brewing!” Rarity heads to her designing table, and sets up a fresh sheet of paper. You smile at her as you head for the door.

After departing the boutique, you make your way to Ponyville Heart. Arriving at the hospital, you stroll casually through the halls, heading for the nurse’s station. You can hardly wait to see Redheart, though you are grateful that you both are apart for roughly ten hours each day, during the week. The time you spent apart just makes you cherish the time you have with her all the more, especially when the weekends arrive.
You make it to your destination, but a cursory glance of the area shows no sign of your mare. Glancing at a nearby clock, you notice that there are a few minutes till three. Perhaps your nurse is just checking on a patient, before calling it a day.
A loud clattering noise breaks your concentration, before you can slip into thought. “Dog gone it!” you hear a familiar voice shout.
Turning around, you confirm your suspicions, it’s Nurse Heath Care. She appears to have banged her supply cart into a cabinet, knocking several items onto the floor.
You walk over to the clumsy but caring mare. Stooping down, you pick up some of the supplies and place them back on her cart. “Need some help?” you inquire, offering her a kind smile.
She sets a few other items back onto her cart, and smiles at you. “Thank you.” A second look at you causes her to nearly do a double take. “Oh, it’s you,” she notes.
“Yeah, is Redheart around? I came to walk her home,” you smile, placing another item on Heath Care’s cart.
She carefully straightens the items on her cart. “I believe she’s finishing up with a patient. You may wait by her desk until she’s done.”
You nod, and walk over to your mare’s work area. Her desk is full of neatly organized papers, trays, bins filled with assorted file folders, and some miscellaneous hospital things, along with a few personal items – one of which immediately catches your attention. You notice a small picture frame sitting on her desk. Inside is a picture of you with Redheart. It’s one you’re all too familiar with.
You reach down and pick up the picture. The image is of you holding Redheart – your head is resting against hers and she’s nuzzling her cheek against you. Both of you are smiling, and anypony that were to look at it could easily tell the two of you are very much in love.
“Oh, you found her picture,” calls Heath Care. You turn back, unaware that she was still close-by. “You want to know something?”
You look back at her expressive blue eyes. “And what’s that?”
She walks over to you, lightly flipping her light blue and dark blue meshed tail. “She keeps that picture of you two on her desk, to help her through those rough days, and to make you seem less distant when she misses you. In fact, Redheart told me it reminds her that you’ll always be waiting at home for her.”
A warming sensation flows from your heart, causing you to smile. It really touches you, knowing how much you mean to Redheart.
Heath Care smiles warmly at you, and muses, “You know, she’s going to be really thrilled that you stopped by to walk her home. She’s had a pretty tough day.”
“Thank you Heath Care,” you utter, continuing to lose yourself in thought.
“Sure,” she replies, then she returns to her cart and heads down the adjacent hall.
You set the picture down, and glance toward a nearby corridor. To your delight, Redheart is just walking out through. The smile on your face grows as your eyes take in the sight of your beloved pony. You step out from behind her desk and move to meet her.
Her gait is rather listless, suggesting she’s more than a little tired. Redheart cranes her head up, in time to meet your gaze. Feeling like she’s seeing things, she gasps, “Sweetheart! It’s you!” You nod silently. Redheart quickly trots over to you and throws her hooves around you. She chuckles warmly, “I don’t believe it, what are you doing here?”
Sighing contently, you place your arms around her. “I got out of work early, so after stopping by the house, I thought I’d come here and walk you home.”
Your mare lightly butts her forehead against yours. “That’s so sweet of you,” she chimes, though you hear a note of fatigue in her voice.
Running your hand along the fur of her back, you ask, “Are you all right?”
She nods. “I’m fine, now that you’re here. It was a rather rough day. Now I just need to take care of one piece of paperwork, and we can go.”
“No problem. Take your time, honey,” you reply, slowly removing your arms from around her.
Redheart quickly trots over to her desk and checks a few files, and makes a few notes, before setting the folders in a tray on the counter above her desk. “All set, now we can leave!” she thrills, putting on her heavy coat. Then together, you depart the hospital and head for home.

The two of you don’t speak much on the walk home, but you know Redheart is more than thrilled to see you. She is walking very closely beside you, and frequently rubs up against you. You place your arm affectionately around her and she lightly coos, turning to give you a glimpse of her endearing sapphire eyes.
You know why she isn’t saying much. There are some days when you two are walking that she saves her words until you get home. It’s mostly because she knows if she says too much, your response will most likely make her want to start kissing you. While she’s perfectly comfortable sharing kisses in public, Redheart doesn’t want her passions to get too enflamed, unless you’re at home and have the sofa or the bedroom close by. For some reason, you suspect that this may be one of those days. Even when she’s too tired to have sex or make love, she can always find the energy to make out.
Now that you both step onto the porch of your modest Ponyville home, the day feels like it’s only going to get better.
The two of you step inside, closing the door behind you. After taking off your coats, you both can feel the warmth of the furnace, keeping the cold of outdoors at bay. You finish hanging up your coats, but you just barely finish removing your boots, before you feel a familiar pair of hooves wrap tenderly around your waist. A loving coo meets you ears, followed by an equally affectionate sigh.
“Redheart,” you whisper.
She sighs, “My very special somepony…I have you in my hooves.”
You turn around, while remaining in her loving embrace. Quickly, your arms encircle her. For a moment, you savor a loving look into her eyes. Without needing to say a word, you both make your way to the couch, and nestle down together. After renewing your embrace, Redheart moves to nuzzle her velvety cheek against yours. The sweep of her fur combined with the delicate floral scent of her perfume leaves you feeling calmed and relaxed. No longer holding back, she joins her lips to yours, sharing her unrelenting love for you. Her kiss, like always, is firm yet gentle, and causes you to respond in kind, squeezing her tighter in your arms.
A few moments pass and your blissful kiss ends. The two of you remain on the sofa, enjoying each other’s company. The smile on Redheart’s lips makes you eager to share your evening plans with her, hoping she’s still up for going out.
“Are you feeling better, now that you’re home?” you ask, removing her nurse’s hat and setting it softly on the coffee table.
She cuddles closer to you, and replies, “Yeah. The tiring day seems to be fading, now that we’re together.”
You sigh from her thoughtful words. “Did you still want to go shopping, tonight?”
“Oh yes, I wanted to check out a few stores. I’m still getting some ideas of what to get you for Hearth’s Warming Day,” she muses.
You feel a sense of relief. Now, to execute the next part of your plan. “I was at Rarity’s shop earlier today…I wanted to see if she had any new casual wear, plus I checked on something I heard at work.”
“Oh?”
“Yeah, she’s running a special on winter coats. So if you don’t mind, I told her we’d stop by this evening. She wants to get our measurements, so she can custom sew them,” you explain, stroking the fur along her neck.
Redheart nuzzles your cheek again. “That sounds great! I was thinking of stopping by her shop anyway – I just love looking at her dresses!”
“Good, and while we’re out, how about I take you to dinner at I don’t know…your favorite restaurant and we could stop by Sugar Cube Corner for dessert, what do you say?” you propose.
Your suggestions sound simply wonderful to her and she happily answers, “That all sounds great. But, for now, do you mind if we go rest on the bed and cuddle…I think I could use a little catnap.”
“All right, that sounds relaxing. I’m feeling a little bushed myself. Must be this colder weather,” you remark with a chuckle.
Together, you make your way to the bedroom. Redheart removes her hair tie, and shakes her mane free of its bun. She flops onto her side of the bed and waits for you to join her.
“Well, are you coming slowpoke?” she questions impatiently.
You quickly dig in your closet, and pull down a warm blanket. Turning back, you snicker, “Of course I’m coming! I just thought we’d like to have a blanket to cover with. We are just napping, right?” She nods. “Then this will allow us to keep the bed sheets and blankets neat, for later tonight.”
She giggles softly, as you finally walk over to the bed. Redheart pats her hoof on your side of the bed. You prepare to enter, but then she holds up her foreleg, blocking you. “What?” you blink.
“You really want to nap in those jeans?” she questions giving you a stern look.
“Ooh, good point.” You promptly loosen your belt, unzip and unbutton your pants. Then you let them drop to the floor, before picking them up and setting them over on your dresser. “There we go,” you smile, laying down beside your lovely white mare.
Redheart moves close to you, batting her eyes at you. Once again, you both embrace, and start tenderly caressing each other. Her hooves glide across your back and shoulders, while you start with her mane and then tenderly run your hands along her back and thighs.
You continue touching each other for a few minutes, before locking into a deeply passionate kiss. Redheart places her hooves along your chest, while you gingerly sweep your fingers through her heavenly pink mane. You share a series of loving sighs and quiet contented moans. As your lips break, she lets out an adorable little yawn. “Oh my, I think I could use that nap, now,” she murmurs.
Nodding in agreement, you chuckle, “Okay. Just let me set the alarm for…does 4:45 sound good to you?”
“Yes,” she sighs with a nod. “That’ll do…nicely.”
Redheart lays down beside you, while you pull the comfy blanket over you, making sure she has a decent portion. She snuggles close to you, resting her hind legs against your own. The feeling of her fur against your bare skin feels extremely delightful, plus you know she loves the sensation of your skin against her body.
She places a hoof under her pillow, and rests the other along your side. Smiling contently, you slip an arm under your pillow and carefully place your other arm around her, securing her in your loving embrace. Your mare yawns softly, resting her head close to yours. The delicate flow of her breath falls against your neck and soothes you deeply. The lovely scent of her perfume once again wafts into your nose, causing you to sigh, before yawning.
Feeling totally at peace, you quickly join her in slumber, happy to be by her side, and knowing you have an enjoyable evening waiting on you.

You awaken to find that you’re spooning your beloved nurse. Her back is pressed firmly against your front side, clearly she wants to enjoy your warmth and stay very close to you. In addition, you can feel the gentle warmth radiating from her body, which remains in the loving embrace of your arms. You take a deep breath, relishing this calm and peaceful moment with Redheart, while the blanket you covered with continues to keep you both warm.
The nagging thought of checking the time enters your mind. Turning your head back over your shoulder, you spy your alarm clock. You both laid down around twenty after three, and now, you see its twenty of five – five minutes till your alarm was set to sound. Making sure not to disturb your mare, you flail your right arm over and carefully endeavor to switch-off your alarm. At least you can both be spared its shrill and bracing tone.
You bring your arm back, replacing it around your lover, relishing the fact that you can share five more minutes of blissful calm with her, before you need to wake her. Leaning your head forward, you rest it gently against her soft mane. The texture always feels so wonderful when it brushes against your cheek. The sensation makes you smile and sigh quietly, while savoring the continuing serenity.
Redheart’s forelegs move to embrace your hands. She moans contently, causing you to look over at her. Her eyes open, and she glances back at you. She sighs, “Is it that time already?”
“Yeah,” you utter with a faint nod.
She carefully turns around, under the warm blanket, and makes sure to remain in your loving arms. Facing you, she places her hooves against your chest. A rosy glow falls across her cheeks as she rests her gaze on you. Slowly, you move your lips toward her, seeing that she is drawing closer to you. In moments you meet for a tender kiss. She moans softly with you as the kiss continues for several seconds.
Redheart runs her right hoof along your cheek, in a very affectionate manner. “That was lovely as always, my darling,” she whispers.
“Thank you, my love,” you respond, gently caressing her mane. “Your hair is a little mussed.”
She giggles softly, “Yeah, I should brush it, before we head out.”
A thought springs to your mind, as you continue running your fingers through her silky locks. “May I brush it for you?”
Her eyes seem to glisten, as she eagerly responds, “That’d be wonderful.”
You turn back the blanket, and you both get up, heading for the vanity. Redheart stands in front of the mirror and offers you her hairbrush. Gently, you clasp it in your hand and begin running it across her pink mane. You begin along the ends and gradually work your way up the length of her hair. After giving it several strokes, you ask, “Is that too rough?”
“Uh-Uh,” she utters, “It’s fine…and I love that you enjoy brushing my hair.” Redheart sighs heavenly, “It’s so relaxing.”
You smile thoughtfully and grin, “It is very relaxing, and besides, you know I enjoy doing nice things for you.”
Redheart leans her head back and blinks her sapphire orbs at you. “I know.” The warmest smile forms on her lips, filling you with endless joy.
She returns her head forward, so you can finish. Happily, you continue working the brush through her lovely tresses. Upon completion, you set her brush back on the vanity. You deftly run your fingers across her mane. “Well what do you think?”
A smile forms on her lips. “I think it looks lovely,” she answers, glancing in the mirror.
“So, do you want to put it up or leave it long?” you check, while staring at her lovely reflection.
Redheart giggles playfully at you, before replying, “I think I’ll leave it down. Besides, you prefer it that way, don’t you?”
You grin at her, “I do.” Leaning down, you gently nuzzle your cheek against her hair, emphasizing your joy at her wearing it down.
“Hey, hey, you’re going to mess it up, again,” she warns.
Quickly, you back off. “My bad.”
She’s unable to resist laughing at you. “Oh come on, you know I was just teasing you.” The lighthearted smile on her face causes you to join her in laughing.
“So, shall we head out?” you ask, placing your arms around her.
Redheart leans back and looks at you winsomely. “Yes, I’m ready. We just need to put on our coats…oh and you need to put your pants back on,” she giggles.
“Whoops,” you snicker, realizing you left your jeans on the dresser.
After pulling your pants back on, you put on your snow boots, and join Redheart in putting on a heavy coat. It’s most likely going to be cold one, tonight.

The two of you step outside and start your trek to Rarity’s boutique. It’s just a little after five and the sun is quickly setting. Twilight is upon Ponyville, painting the sky a lovely shade of fiery orange and red, and being met up with dark shades of deep blue and bold purple as night begins making its presence known.
Studying your surroundings, you notice the snow looks to have melted even more than it had yesterday. This leaves you feeling just a tad puzzled. Redheart notices your somewhat baffled expression. “What is it?” she inquires.
“You told me that there’s usually a healthy snow cover for Hearth’s Warming, yet I’m starting to see patches of grass emerge as the snow continues to melt,” you note, raising a confused eyebrow.
Redheart smiles and replies, “Don’t worry. The pegasi most likely have a snowfall scheduled for sometime next week. The Cloudsdale Weather Center always provides us with a white Hearth’s Warming Day.”
You walk closer to her and place your arm around her. “That’s good to know,” you beam happily. Slowly your first stop begins to grow near. “Ah, there it is,” you point toward Rarity’s shop.
Redheart nods. “That’s a relief. I think this cold air is starting to get to me,” she remarks.
“Oh, how come?”
She sighs, “Do you remember the other day, I told you that my bladder isn’t fond of the cold? Well, I already have to pee, even though I went before we left.”
You pull her close and tenderly squeeze her. “I remember, but it’ll be fine. I’m sure Rarity will let you use her bathroom. After all, she is very generous.”
“That’s true,” chimes Redheart, giving you a joyful smile. She giggles softly, staying close to you. “You know, I’d ask you to join me, but I don’t think Rarity would understand, if she saw you following me into her bathroom.”
You chuckle back at her, running your hand along her side. “It’s all right, my dear. I don’t have to go right now anyway, so it’s no big deal. Who knows, since we’ll be out in the cold again, I could always join you next time, say when we get back home.”
Redheart leans her head against you, and sighs, “I’d really like that.”
The two of you arrive at Carousel Boutique. The door chimes as you both enter. The white unicorn hears the bell and lightly trots toward you. “Welcome to…oh, it’s you two!” she calls happily. “I was wondering when you’d show up.”
“Hi Rarity,” you wave, giving her a smile.
“Hello Rarity,” chirps Redheart. The discomfort building in her haunches quickly causes her to cut the pleasantries short. “Uh, Rarity, may I use your bathroom?”
Rarity smiles. “Of course you may, darling, it’s just across the kitchen,” she notes, waving her hoof.
“Thank you!” nods Redheart as she swiftly makes her way through the kitchen and over to the bathroom. You faintly hear the door click shut.
The seamstress turns to you, giving you a curious look. “What was her hurry?”
You wave a dismissing hand. “Oh, don’t worry about her. The cold weather and her bladder don’t get along. In fact, I’ve had that problem myself, on occasion,” you muse, trying to divert the focus from Redheart.
Rarity nods. “I can completely relate to that myself. Anyway, since she’s occupied for the moment, I have those sketches for you!” she expresses in a singsong voice.
Your eyes widen with delight. “Really, you’ve got them already?!”
She nods, “But of course I do, come now darling, I told you I didn’t have any commissions at the moment. Besides, I was struck with a wave of inspiration and came up with these.” Your host leads you over to her drawing table. There, she presents you with the three options.
You study each carefully and immediately fall in love with the second option. The dress has an elegant, yet sexy and very ladylike quality to it. You try to imagine it on Redheart. Then you’re struck with a creative thought. “Rarity, could you do the second one in a red and pink combination?”
She joins you in glancing at the second sketch. A joyful smile curls up on her lips as she fluffs her elegant mane. “Why of course I can.”
“Good! I think those colors would look great on Redheart, and I just know her eyes would set the whole thing off!” you bubble with excitement.
“Okay then, now I just need her measurements, and we’ll be all set,” Rarity explains, setting the other sketches aside, and making a few notes on the one you want. Then she sets it on her project desk, before returning to you.
The distant sound of the toilet flushing meets your ears. You know Redheart will be out in moments. “Uh, Rarity, pretend to take my measurements, then you can get hers.”
She nods, without saying a word. After you remove your coat, Rarity uses her magic and holds up her measuring tape, carefully running it across your body.
You turn back, hearing the sound of approaching hooves. Redheart returns from the bathroom and greets you with a smile. “That’s better,” she remarks, looking at both of you. “So, what were you two talking about?”
Rarity stammers, “Oh, uh, we were just…”
“I was asking Rarity if she’s ready for Hearth’s Warming Day. I told her I’m almost done with my shopping,” you cleverly reply.
Rarity grins, “Why yes, we were. And I was just noting how I’ve finished nearly all of my shopping.” After moving the tape over you a few more times, the unicorn announces, “There, I’ve finished with you.” She pretends to scratch down some numbers, then she looks to your nurse, “Now, Redheart, if you would be a dear and remove your coat, I’ll collect your measurements.”
“Sure,” responds Redheart, carefully slipping off her coat.
Rarity steps over to your mare and holds up her tape measure. After checking each size, the unicorn walks back over to her table and makes some notes. “Okay, then, I’m all finished.”
“Thank you Rarity. I just know these coats will be splendid, “you note with a wink.
She giggles at you. “Why of course they will, darling, I always put my best hoof forward!”
Redheart smiles, “That’s good to know. I didn’t think we need new coats, but the word is that this winter poses to be a real doozie.”
“Then, you’ll be glad you have these when the time comes,” laughs Rarity.
The three of you chat for a little while longer and Redheart checks out the latest dresses Rarity has in her show room, continuing to long for one of her own. This makes you even happier about the surprise you have planned for her.
Before long, you say your farewells to the fashionista and depart the boutique, heading for a few more shops and then to dinner.

After browsing through several shops in town, you and Redheart enjoy a pleasant dinner at her favorite restaurant, then you share a tasty milkshake at Sugar Cube Corner, before heading back home.
The night air is still very brisk and just downright cold. Redheart continues to walk closely by your side, hoping to share your warmth. It turns out she didn’t really want to buy anything, she was just getting some better ideas of what present she could get you.
You place your right arm around her as she rubs up against you. She sighs contently, “Mmm, dinner was wonderful…and then, sharing a milkshake at the sweet shop!” Redheart smiles happily. “It was so romantic sharing it with two straws.”
Gently, you pull her closer, lightly squeezing her. “I’m glad you had a good time. And you’re right, it was romantic,” you joyfully respond.
“A wonderful night. Oh, and thanks to stopping by those shops, I think I know just what to get you now,” she muses.
Running your hand along her side, you note, “Well, of all the places we stopped, I have no idea what you’ll be choosing, so I’m sure I’ll be surprised.” She then smiles and closes her eyes.
Judging from the familiar surroundings, you know the two of you are just about home. Redheart rests her head against you again and giggles softly. “It’s a good thing we’re almost home. This cold air is really starting to get to me,” she remarks, as you notice her wiggle her rump.
“Are you trying to tell me you have to pee again?” you inquire.
Another giggle slips past her lips. “Mm-hmm. Last time you weren’t able to join me, due to the circumstances…but, we’re just about home…you wouldn’t like to join me in the bathroom, would you?” She looks at you endearingly, with those penetrating sapphire blue eyes.
You feel a delightful rush of adrenaline serge across your body. Her suggestion and timing are perfect, as you finally notice that you really need to take a leak. “Yes, I’d love to! I was just realizing how much I need a trip to the bathroom, anyway,” you answer, giving her an enthusiastic smile.
“Great! I was just thinking that it’s been several days since we last peed together,” she giggles playfully.
You pull her closer and rub your hand along her neck. “You’re right. Oh and look, there’s our place, now!”
Your pace quickens as you both step up onto the porch and enter your house. Then, you both take off your coats, hanging them on the nearby coat rack. You look over at her, while removing your boots, and ask, “Which bathroom did you want to use?”
“The master bath in our bedroom, it’s the roomiest,” she replies giving you a sultry gaze.
The two of you enter your room and quickly make your way to the bathroom. Out of habit, you close the door behind you. Redheart walks over to the toilet, swishing her tail contently. You grin as you watch her lift the lid and seat, remembering that she prefers to pee standing.
You join her beside the large ceramic bowl. She looks at you and winks, “Are you ready?” You nod, loosening your belt. “Good, I don’t think I can hold this much longer.” There is a distinct note of discomfort in her voice. Knowing she really has to go only seems to be adding to your excitement.
You’re thankful you’re already in position, as you undo the button on your jeans and lower your zipper. Then you shift your underwear, revealing your firming member. Redheart turns around and lifts her long pink tail to the side. She backs up closer to the bowl, and lightly spreads her hind legs.
“Ready?” you ask. She nods, giving you a calming smile. You take a deep breath and slowly begin to pee into the toilet. Your stream splashes into the water, while you see that you’re on target. Your focus quickly shifts to Redheart’s backside. Before you even get up to speed, a forceful jet of pale yellow urine sails out from between her haunches, flowing beside yours. Redheart makes sure she isn’t accidentally hitting the seat, before she fully relaxes her muscles, allowing her stream to join yours in getting up to speed.
“Ahhh,” she sighs, feeling a strong sense of relief fall across her body. “I didn’t think I had to go this badly.”
You join her in sighing, noticing that same sense of relief as you continue to pee beside the mare you love. “I agree with you. I didn’t think I had to go this bad, myself,” you muse. Your eyes follow the sparkling arch of her stream, admiring how it reminds you of a flowing fountain. While you don’t want to miss a drop of her show, you glance over to look into her eyes. Redheart looks over at you, blushing and smiling. Then her eyes move to study your yellow torrent as it continues splashing into the bowl. Like always, this is so amazingly fun and naughty.
Several seconds pass and you begin to notice the familiar and somewhat bracing scent of urine. It’s hardly a pleasant smell, but since the smell is coming from you and her, it doesn’t bother you that much. Besides, the scent always reminds you of that very exciting first time you and Redheart peed together, in the woods.
You smile continuing to savor this shared intimate act. A few more seconds pass and you feel you’re just about empty. You also discover Redheart’s stream is beginning to rapidly lose power as she slows to a halt, ending with a few lingering spurts. Barely a moment later your stream comes to an end, with a few straggling drips falling from you.
“That’s so much better,” Redheart declares in a soothing voice.
“Oh my goodness, I think we both needed that. Heh-heh,” you chuckle warmly at her.
“I’m really glad we did,” she replies, giggling at you playfully.
Reaching over she places her hoof along your manhood and gently shakes the last few drops out of you. Her touch sends waves of pleasure coursing up your spine. Then your eyes widen as you feel her hoof gingerly grace the underside of your shaft. “Uh, Redheart, I think…” you stammer feeling your focus shatter from her enticing touch.
“What? Do you want me to stop?” she asks softly, still slowly caressing you.
“Heavens, no,” you gasp.
Redheart grins at you and suggests, “Maybe we should save this for the bedroom. Besides…I still need tended to, if you don’t mind.” She lightly wiggles her flank.
You chuckle at her, reaching from some toilet paper. “Of course not,” you reply. Folding the sheets of toilet tissue, you tenderly begin to wipe across the dampened delicate petals of her marehood.
You quickly elicit a pleasant moan from her. “That feels so…Mmm,” she sighs, taking a deep breath.
After a few more ginger wipes, you toss the used tissue into the toilet. “That should do it, sweetheart.”
“Thank you,” she giggles.
“Anytime.”
You lower the seat and close the lid, just before she flushes. She joins you by the sink, where you allow her to step up first. Redheart turns on the water, and adjusts the temperature as you walk up from behind her and reach over to the soap dispenser. You depress the pump a few times, and give her a smile. Wetting your other hand, you begin washing her hooves. A strong blush returns to her cheeks as you tenderly work the soap with your fingers. She smiles at you, and without a word, she proceeds to help you clean your hands.
After you’ve both finished rinsing off, you grab the drying towel and run it across her hooves and your hands. The two of you move away from the sink, and head for the door. Before you can open it, Redheart intercepts you. She places her hooves on your chest, and quickly leans up to join her lips to yours. You wrap your arms around her neck, returning her kiss as deeply as possible.
A few seconds pass and your lips part. She blinks her eyes at you, while the rosy glow remains on her cheeks. You give her a loving expression, even though you are a little curious as to what made her kiss you, not that you could ever bore of kissing her.
Redheart runs her hoof along your cheek, seeing the wonderment in your eyes. “That was for always finding a way to add a little romance to things like this,” she whispers.
“Aww, Redheart, you’re welcome,” you utter softly.
“Come on, let’s get ready for bed. I’m a feeling a bit tired, but I’d certainly enjoy messing around for a little,” she winks, offering you a winsome gaze.
You nod silently. Then, the two of you secure the house and brush your teeth. You dress down to your underwear, and walk over to the bed. Turning back the covers, you both crawl under them. Placing your arms around Redheart, you gaze deeply into her eyes. She places her hooves along your shoulders and indulges a thoughtful look into your eyes.
“I had a rough day at work, but thanks to you, I’ve had a wonderful evening,” Redheart speaks softly.
You smile at her, and run your fingers through her mane. “I always enjoy our time together,” you reply.
Redheart places a hoof along your cheek and rubs it against you gently. “And to think, in less than two weeks, we’ll be enjoying our first Hearth’s Warming Day, together. I can hardly wait. And I’m sure you’ll enjoy your presents,” she smiles.
You chuckle at her, continuing to caress her silky smooth mane. “I’m sure I will, but I don’t need any presents…for what it’s worth, I have the greatest present, right here,” you whisper, leaning over to kiss her softly on the lips.
She blushes from your loving gesture and kind words. “You’re so sweet. And you know something…I never get tired of telling you that.” A snicker falls over your lips as you try not to blush. Redheart leans over and nuzzles her velvety cheek to against you. “Would you like to have a little fun?”
“I would, if you’re feeling up to it,” you respond.
Redheart smiles and nods, “Of course I am. You know, whenever we pee together, it leaves me feeling…rather turned on. Though, I’m not quite sure why. It’s delightfully fun and naughty, but I think it’s because we’re sharing such an intimate act, together. You know, it’s kind of romantic, when you think about it that way.”
A grin forms on your face, as you fail to ward off the blushing. Besides, you know she’s right. You move your hand, gliding your fingers along the fur of her neck. “I think I know what you mean. It turns me on whenever we do that, too. I doubt it’s something many even think of sharing, but it does seem sort of romantic. But I think I know what makes it so special,” you muse.
“Oh?”
You slide your hand down her foreleg and lovingly grasp her hoof. Bringing it close to your mouth, you gently kiss it. “I think we enjoy sharing it…because of what we mean to each other,” you conclude with an affectionate smile.
Her cheeks continue glowing a rosy red. She looks at you half-lidded, running her right hoof along the hair of your chest. “You’re right. I know everything we do is always magical, because of how much I love you,” she sighs, moving even closer to you.
“My love, my lady,” you whisper seductively.
Redheart’s blush deepens as she whispers, “My very special somepony.” She begins running her left hoof across your hair, while her other beings encircling your chest.
Her touch is quite soothing, and begins filling you with a strong sense of serenity. Your start caressing the velvety fur of her right shoulder with your left hand, while delicately petting her left side with your right, slowly teasing your way to her thigh. Redheart wraps her right hoof around you, drawing you closer. After sharing a devoted glance, you meet for a very deep and passionate kiss, while your touching begins to escalate.
Your mare’s left hoof leaves your chest, slowly trailing down toward your waist. Gently, she digs against your skin, driving the elastic of your underwear down, freeing your already excited manhood. She quickly begins running her furry appendage across your shaft. The tenderness in her touch quickly fills you with heightening levels of bliss. Your right hand ceases its teasing and moves to gently fonder the cheeks of her rump.
The kiss breaks momentarily, as her gaze meets your eye. Redheart moans softly as she takes in a few needed breaths. You softly caress her tail, before pushing your hand under it, to her waiting curves. She gasps softly as she feels your fingers trace her crescent. You renew your kiss, and signal for her to open her mouth, so your tongues might share an affectionate dance. She lets out a muffled moan of sheer bliss, feeling a few of your fingers gently enter her marehood. Then, very slowly, you begin caressing her from within. The kiss concludes as she lets out another moan, followed by a series of heavenly sighs. You join her in letting out a few gentle moans, accompanied with a few gasps and sighs of your own. Rather than feeling the normal fiery heat from touching each other, you both start to feel incredibly relaxed and completely at ease.
A few minutes pass as you continue making out, then Redheart lets out an adorable yawn. “Oh my,” she pardons herself, “I’m starting to feel very sleepy.”
You begin to notice the feeling of fatigue fall over you as well. Leaning your head back, you yawn, “Whoa, I’m feeling a bit tired myself.”
Redheart covers her mouth with her free hoof as she yawns again. “I’m sorry sweetheart. This is very relaxing, but it’s putting me to sleep.”
“That’s okay, why don’t we call it a night, then,” you suggest, stifling another yawn.
She nods in agreement and softly kisses your lips. “I think that’d be best. But are you sure you don’t mind?” Redheart asks.
You shake your head, “Of course not. We don’t have to go all the way every time. Besides, I don’t think I can stay awake much longer.”
She giggles at you happily, placing her hooves on your chest. You pull the covers up over you and place your arms around her. Redheart drapes one of her hind legs over your leg, and curls her tail along your ankles.
“Good night, my love,” you speak in a hushed voice.
Redheart nuzzles against you, and whispers, “Good night, my darling.”
You briefly say each other’s name, then cuddle for just a few more moments, before you each become the victims of slumber's lulling hand. The room grows silent, aside from your collective breaths and the occasional hum of the furnace.

Entering your home, you remove your coat and boots, then deposit your lunch bag in the kitchen. After quickly cleaning it out, you shuffle into the living room. Flopping onto the couch, you cast out a heavy sigh, tossing some papers onto the coffee table.
“What a day!” you bellow to an empty house.
It’s roughly 3:30, Thursday afternoon, so Redheart will soon be home. And while you are missing her, it’s a good thing she isn’t home just yet. The news you have for her from work, well, it’s not going to be overly cheery.
Now, it wasn’t that your day at work was bad or even tiring. In fact, for the most part, it was a typical day at the office. The results of your meeting with the mayor, however, are what continue lingering heavily in your mind.
The meeting itself went just fine. The mayor was glad to have you back, and made sure to note how it was rough during your absence, while you were in the hospital. She then went on to note how pleased she’s been with your work at the office. So pleased in fact, that she said your work was “exemplary”. Hardly something you expected her to say, especially since you didn’t think your work is really worthy of that level of praise. Sure you feel accomplished at the end of each day, but “adequate” would seem a more fitting word for your performance.
Nevertheless, she made sure to convey her approval for your methods of doing things around the office. She also shared how pleased the mayor of Manehatten was with your work habits. You were all too familiar with the visit Mayor Lampwick paid your office a few weeks ago. Apparently, she was so pleased with your results that she asked Mayor Mare if you could visit her office and share your techniques with her staff. Before you knew it, the mayor told you that you’d be heading to Manehatten next week, for the entire week, to work along side her staff. She then gave you train tickets to and from the city of lights, and a voucher for a paid room at the Harringhoof Hotel – one of the finest lodges in the city.
This immediately sent up a red flag, and prompted you to ask how this would effect your holiday. The mayor assured you that you’ll be home nearly three days before Hearth’s Warming, so that you can still enjoy whatever plans you have made, along with the time off you put in for. That was quite a relief.
Now, as you glance over at the papers the mayor gave you, there is still the dilemma of breaking the news to Redheart. This is going to be the first time you two will be apart for so long.
You sink your head into one of the plush throw pillows. Why did this have to happen now, and so close to the holidays?
Before you can fully ponder this, the front door opens, and gently closes. The familiar sound of Redheart’s hoof beats meets your ears. She removes her hat and sets it on the coffee table. Your mare drops down beside you on the sofa, and sighs, “Oooh, what a day.”
You look at her with a smile. “So, how were things at the hospital?”
“Not too bad, just tiring. I spent nearly five hours in surgery, helping with a patient. Thankfully, I had just enough time afterwards, to see my regular patients and finish some paperwork,” she answers. Then, she leans against you, and lets out a happy sigh, “But coming home to you, always makes my day better.” You place your arm around her, and pull her close. She nuzzles you closely, running a hoof along your shoulder. “So, how was your day?”
You tilt your head back and sigh.
Redheart sits up, and seems to break out of her relaxed state. “Is everything okay?”
You sit there, feeling a nervous heat race out across your body. How are you going to properly break the news to her? Giving it some quick thought, you figure the only way is to just say it.
You shake your head and look over at her. “Work itself went all right, it was a meeting I had with the mayor. Now don’t worry, it was a good meeting,” you explain.
“Then what’s wrong?”
“Well, she is pleased with my work, and a few weeks ago, we were visited by Mayor Lampwick, from Manehatten. She too was pleased with my work methods,” you pause, casting out a heavy sigh, “And here’s where the problem starts. Seems she was so pleased that Mayor Mare is sending me away on a business trip next week, to Manehatten. Their mayor wants me to share my techniques with her staff,” you ramble, flopping your arm on the side of the sofa.
Redheart blinks at you. “But what about Hearth’s Warming Day?”
Now, at least you do have some good news. A smile forms on your lips as you answer, “According to the Mayor, I’ll be there just for next week. She assures me I’ll be home in time for the holiday.”
“Thank goodness, because I’m afraid I can’t go with you, the hospital is way too busy to spare me right now.” Redheart feels better that you’ll be home for the holiday, but begins to fill with more questions. “When do you leave, and what time will you return?”
You reach out and nab your tickets and hotel voucher. “Well,” you begin, “I leave Sunday afternoon at 1:00. Then my train back leaves Saturday morning at 7:30. The mayor said I should be home in time for an early lunch,” you reply, setting the items back on the table.
Redheart wipes a hoof over her forehead. “That’s a relief. I didn’t want to miss our first Hearth’s Warming, together. Oh, but that means we won’t see each other for an entire week,” she droops, feeling a sudden onset of sadness.
You reach over and hold her close, in your arms. “I know. We’ve never been apart for so long. The most we’ve been apart is a day or two,” you recall.
Redheart nods, in agreement. “Yeah, even that week I had to stay on-call at the hospital, we weren’t apart that much. You joined me there, and we slept on one of the beds in the on-call room, together,” she remarks happily reminiscing.
“I remember,” you utter, “I guess…this is just something we’ll have to face, together.”
“Yeah.”
“We’ve been together for over nine months now. I’m sure we’ll handle this. Besides, every relationship has it’s challenges,” you remark, wishing you felt more confident in your words.
Your mare leans against you, resting her head along your bosom. “You’re right. This won’t be easy for either of us. We’ll definitely have to make the most of the time we have, till you depart,” she concludes, sounding rather disheartened.
Tenderly, you place your hand along her mane, and softly kiss the side of her head. “Just remember, they always say, “Absences makes the heart grow fonder.””
“You’re right. Hey, I have an idea,” she chirps.
“And what’s that?”
“Well, why don’t we plan a really special day for Saturday, and make some new fun memories. That way we’ll have something to help us through this tough time,” she proposes.
“Okay, that’ll be great! Oh, and while we’re apart, we can both always keep a picture of us together, to remind each other what’s waiting for us at the end of this week,” you note, sounding a bit happier.
A joyful smile forms on her face as she moves to snuggle closer to you. “That’s wonderful! And you know, I think I’ll give you one of your presents, a little early! Trust me, you’ll really like it!” she asserts with glee.
Your share a brief but very loving kiss. Then you whisper, “I’m sure I will, my love.”

Once again, you return home. Your week is now over, but since it’s Friday, you still have a few hours till Redheart will be home. Normally she works till roughly five or six on days like this. You’re really looking forward to the fun you’ll be having tomorrow, but right now you start to ponder your dinner options. Given everything she’s done for you, you think Redheart would be touched if you cook dinner this evening. This way, you can both stay home and maximize your time together.
Before you decide what to make, there’s a swift knocking at your door. A strong feeling of puzzlement takes hold of you. Who in the hoof could this be? Redheart isn’t due home for quite while yet.
Rising to your somewhat tired feet, you make your way over to the door. The knocking resumes. You twist the knob, and pull back, revealing the pony standing on the other side. It’s Rarity.
“Rarity, hello! What are you doing here?” you inquire with due surprise.
She smiles excitedly at you. “Darling, I’m so glad you’re home. Redheart isn’t here is she?” Rarity wonders, scanning the area, immediately behind you.
You shake your head, “No, she’s still at work.”
“That’s good. I just had to let you know I finished your order! Please tell me you can spare a few minutes to come see it and let me know what you think of it?” she requests politely.
“Oh my gosh! You’ve got it done already?!” you exclaim with a big grin.
Rarity nods. “I do, so can you come?”
You nod, stepping inside to put on your boots and grab your coat. Locking the house, you quickly follow Rarity to her shop. Following a short walk, you arrive at Carousel Boutique. The fashion enthusiast directs you into her place, and leads you to her project area.
She has you stand before the fashion form donning the dress, and points her hoof. “Well, tell me what you think…of this!” she beams with boundless energy.
You feel your mouth drop open as you study the fancy gown resting on the fashion form. The reds, the pinks, the silver and gold accents, the lace, and the dress itself is just perfect! You take a moment to imagine what it would be like on Redheart. A heavy, but contented sigh leaves on your breath, making your smile joyfully.
Rarity looks at you, her eyes pleading for your opinion, be it good or bad. You turn to the dress designer. “It’s perfect! Rarity…I simply love it! You even added some fancy jewelry to accent it!”
She closes her eyes and smiles grandly. “Oh darling, I’m so glad you’re pleased with it. And yes, I thought the tiara and necklace would add just the right touch,” she chuckles softly, “Now, if you have the money, I’ll get it packed right up for you.”
You look at her, continuing to smile. “Go ahead, let me fish out what I owe you.” The unicorn quickly prepares the outfit for packing as she fetches a fancy outfit box to place it in, while you turn to your coin pouch. Reaching in, you remove several coins.
“It’s all set,” announces Rarity, setting the packaged dress on a nearby table.
You hand her the bits. “Here you are.”
She takes the coins with her magic and taps the dress. “It’s all yours…I,” her words drop off as she double-checks the money you just gave her. Rarity counts it and her azure eyes widen. “Um, darling, I think you gave me a few bits too many, plus you did give me a 10% deposit.”
“Huh,” you mutter. “I gave you what I owed you.”
She shuffles through the coins and uses her magic to lift them over to you. “But there’s coins totaling 250 bits here! I was only charging you 200 and you already paid 20,” Rarity gasps, conveying her desire not to swindle you.
You turn to her, holding your gift for Redheart. “I know that’s what you were charging, but I just know she’s going to love this, and you did such fast and beautiful work. Why 250 bits seems more than fair, for such fine work!” you declare with swift nod of your head.
“I…uh, t-thank you, darling!” Rarity lightly stammers with glee.
You turn and head for the door. “No Rarity, thank you, for this wonderful dress. I’ll be sure to keep in mind, the next time I need a fancy outfit for Redheart,” you muse.
Rarity giggles like a filly, and waves to you. “Anytime, darling, oh and should it need any altering, you can bring it back and I’ll take care of it, free of charge! Have a very happy Hearth’s Warming Day!” she calls out to you.
Turning back, you nod politely, “And you too, Rarity!” Then, you depart her shop, feeling overjoyed that you have Redheart’s presents taken care of! And since there’s still time till you need to start dinner, you can wrap her gifts and put them back in your hiding place. Even though you have that lonely week staring you down, you know things are going to be great for your holiday!

It’s after 5:30, and you’ve already finished wrapping and hiding Redheart’s presents. Now all that’s left to do is put the final touches on dinner. You thought of a great meal to prepare for her and have done everything you can to make this a romantic night, focused on her. True, you may not be a gourmet chef, but you can cook rather well. This fact strolls about your mind as you finish setting the table and placing the freshly completed entrée and side items in their places of honor. Taking a cursory glance of the spread, you are quite pleased.
It’s then that you hear the front door open and quickly close. The sound of gentle hoof steps meets your ears. Turning to the dining room doorway, you see Redheart slowly enter. You beam her a loving smile, placing your hands behind your back. Her mouth silently drops open as she gazes at the site you’ve prepared.
“What is all of this?” she gasps in awe.
You walk over to your beloved pony, and give her a tender hug. “It’s just a little something I whipped up. Since your Friday’s are often tiring, I thought, why don’t I cook us dinner. This way we can stay home and relax together, and enjoy the time we have, alone,” you declare, softly caressing her furry cheek.
For the moment, words fail her. Redheart simply places her hooves around you and squeezes you tightly, cooing softly into your ears.
“Oh,” you mutter. “I almost forgot.” Walking over to the candles, you pick up a small box of matches and strike one on the side. You proceed to light the two decorative candles, adding their soft glow to the low light of the room. “Yes, that’s what was missing,” you muse with a nod.
Redheart places her hooves around you again and kisses you deeply on the lips. You place your left arm around her and gently caress her neck with your right hand, returning her loving kiss. Her embrace tightens as her lips press harder against your own. She doesn’t hesitate to offer you a gentle moan, while she savors your company.
A few moments pass and your kiss concludes. Redheart’s cheeks bear a strong rosy glow as her loving eyes gaze deeply into your own. You don’t even fight it, rather you indulge the urge to stare right back into her captivating orbs, feeling like you can see on forever, into the soul of the mare you love so much.
She turns to the spread and then looks back at you. “This all looks wonderful! What did I do to deserve someone as amazing as you?” she asks, resting her head on your shoulder.
You place your hand along her mane and gingerly pull her close. “Simple…you gave me your love, and have made my life in Ponyville…grander than I ever could have dreamed,” you profess, seeing the joy sparkle in her eyes.
She chuckles softly, and takes your hand with her hoof, “Shall we?”
“Of course,” you nod.
“So, what did you make?” She takes a deep breath. “It smells delightful?”
You walk her over to the table. “Well, I’m still working on perfecting some of my Equestrian recipes, but I know quite a few from Earth. The best part, I was able to modify some from both our worlds, and well, voila!” you chime, removing the cover on the main dish. “I made four-cheese quesadillas, accompanied with mild salsa and sour cream. There is some Spanish rice to go with them, and I also took the liberty of making some lightly sweetened glazed carrots, so we’d have a vegetable to go with everything.” Redheart looks over the assorted items and leers at the food hungrily, trying not to drool in anticipation.
She looks at you gleefully and says, “You outdid yourself this time!”
“I just hope you like it,” you reply. “Oh, and I picked up a chocolate cream pie from Sugar Cube Corner, for dessert, while I was out getting a few odds and ends.”
“Wow, you thought of everything. I just hope pie isn’t the only thing you’ll be wanting for dessert,” she giggles, winking playfully at you.
A grin forms on your lips as you use the tongs to place a quesadilla on her plate. “Oh don’t worry, I’ve always got plenty of room for the sweetest desserts!” you wink back at her, kissing her cheek.
The two of you enjoy the romantic dinner you prepared and share an evening of endless joy together. You can only wonder how Redheart’s plans for tomorrow will be able to top this! But somehow, you suspect they will.

Following Friday night, you and Redheart enjoy every moment you have together, on the last Saturday before you leave for Manehatten. The day goes by, allowing you both to share a joyful and somewhat playful morning together, and then a quiet relaxing afternoon. Now, following one of her delicious dinners, the two of you are cuddling on the couch, while you wait for the oven timer to ring. She wanted you to have some goodies to take with you, so in the spirit of the holidays, you two are baking chocolate chip cookies. Though Redheart assures you, the best dessert is yet to come. That and she keeps telling you she’s going to give you one of your presents early.
Sitting there, with her secure in your arms, you can only wonder what this present may be. Before you can continue pondering, the buzzing ring of the over timer breaks your train of thought.
“Do you want me to go get them, darling?” Redheart asks with a sigh.
“No,” you shake your head. “Let me, honey.” You release her, reluctantly, and trek out to the kitchen. Putting on an oven mitt, you open the oven. The rolling heat blankets against your face as you reach in and remove the tray of freshly baked cookies. Setting them on the stove, you grip the other sheet, which has another batch ready to go, and place it inside. After closing the oven door, you wipe the sweat from your brow. With the mitt still on your hand, you move the hot sheet over to the cooling area you and Redheart have prepared. You set the baking timer, and look at the tantalizing cookies, which are staring at you as the sound of their sizzling on the tray, begins to fade.
For a moment, you contemplate indulging in just one more cookie, but then again, you’ve had five already. Turning away from the sheet, you see Redheart has joined you in the kitchen. A warm smile forms on your face. “I just put the last batch in,” you note.
“Oh, good, so we’re just about done then,” she replies.
You nod a few times, “Yep. Say, you wouldn’t care for another? Nothing like a fresh warm and gooey chocolate chip cookie.”
She giggles at you softly. “Tempting, but like you, I’ve head at least five already. Now that it’s going on eight, we don’t want to feel too full, do we?”
“No, I suppose not,” you answer, scooping the hot cookies off the sheet and onto the carefully spread wax paper.
“Besides, now that our dinner has settled, I think it’s time I gave you your present,” she winks.
You move closer to her, and she leans up, resting her hooves against you. Placing your arms around her neck, you smile at her. “So, just what could this present be?” you wonder.
“Well, why don’t to finish up with these cookies, and then meet me in the living room. I need to go into the bedroom for a little bit…to get your gift,” she replies in sly voice, being less than subtle about it.
You chuckle warmly, “Okay, I’ll see to things here, then meet you by the sofa.”
She kisses your lips briefly, then returns to all fours, trotting out of the kitchen. You place a hand on your chin, trying to figure out what she’s up to. Snickering, you figure it has to be something good. All you know is that you are really longing to make love to her, more than anything else right now.
With the cooled cookie sheet empty, you walk it over to the sink, and place it in the still very warm sudsy water. After wiping it with a damp sponge, you rinse it and place it in the draining rack. You grin, feeling like, well, a kid at Christmas! Your eyes clench shut. “Okay, they’re closed,” you call over to her.
“Good, now keep them shut for just a moment,” she replies. You hear her hooves patter gently on the hardwood floor, coming to rest from what you can only conclude is directly in front of you. “Okay, go ahead and open them.”
Your eyes open and quickly meet the sight before them. To your amazement, Redheart is standing before you in a red Santa Girl outfit, consisting of: a one-piece short skirt with a cottony liner, and the classic Santa hat, with a white pompom and is accented by a holly berry leaf, along its white liner. “Oh my…goodness!” you gasp.
Redheart lightly walks in place showing off her outfit. “Well, what do you think? Is it me…do you like it?” she asks, blinking her sparkling eyes at you.
You slowly stroll up to her, and lean down to press your lips to hers. Pulling back, you smile grandly and answer, “I love it! You look cute and sexy at the same time! But, how…where did you get this?”
She giggles at you. “Well, you remember we talked about Earth holidays in bed a few weeks ago,” she reminds you. Recalling that fun round of pillow talk, you nod. “I remembered you telling me how girls on Earth dress up like this for their guy friends. So, I asked Rarity if she could make me an outfit like this…that way I could dress up and be naughty for you,” she gleams with joy.
Your smile grows from her explanation. Placing a hand on her shoulder, you remark, “This is quite a present.” You reach down, and caress the length of her silky pink mane, which is sticking out from under her hat.
“I’m glad you like it. There’s plenty of fun we can have, with me dressed like this,” she winks.
A silly grin forms on your face. “We can indeed,” you snicker. “But hey, aside form that little holly leaf, you aren’t wearing any green. You do have plenty of red, but a little green in your outfit would be nice.”
Redheart walks in front of you and rubs up against you. Turning to look back at you, she remarks, “Oh, but my outfit does have some green to it.” You glance at her questioningly, making her giggle at you. “Here, just take a look at these,” she chirps, flipping her tail to the side and reaching back a hoof to lightly tug up her skirt.

Your lips break after a few more blissful seconds pass. Redheart smiles at you, giving you an affectionate look, “I’m ready.”
Returning her look, you share her smile, and respond, “So am I.”
Your mare moves even closer to you, and gently, she sweeps her crescent along the tip of your shaft. The encounter fills you both with even more pleasure. You place your hand on her flanks and slide your hands up to her skirt, pushing it up just a little more. Then tenderly, you move your hands back to her cutie marks, savoring the velvety texture of her fur. She places her hooves along your shoulders as you slowly push up, parting the way. Redheart allows herself to slide down, while you join her in moaning softly as she feels your length enter her.
She leans down and plants a series of kisses on your neck and cheeks, before she finishes with one on your lips. Slowly, Redheart pulls back and begins bucking her hips on you. A few moments pass, and you reach up and place your arms around her back, pulling her down on top of you. You sigh contently, and rub your cheek against her silky pink mane. Placing your left hand on her hat, you slowly remove it and send it to join your shirt, on the floor. Now, you can run your fingers through even more of her beautiful locks. She quickly nuzzles you back, then she prepares to pull away. You lash your arm across her back and bring your lips to her ear. Softly you whisper, “Please, can we do it like this?”
She moans softly, “Mmm, of course we can.” Redheart pulls her head back slightly, so she can give you a smile of approval, while she adjusts her hind legs.
You place your hand on her cheek, “I love you.”
She giggles softly, “I love you.”
Your hands return to her flanks, softly massage them for a moment as she resumes the heavenly movement between you. Securing your grip, you promptly add your strength to her bucking hips, making sure she’s not doing all of the work.
Time begins to go by and Redheart’s pace begins to quicken along with her breathing. The pleasure building along your groin causes your breathing to become shallow and labored. Redheart continues to sigh and moan from the pleasure you’re sharing with her. The passion is just as wondrous as always, because you can feel it with every motion she makes. The enrapturing scent of her perfume makes its way into your nose, adding to your arousal, like never before.
Periodically, you move your hands from her cutie marks and place them around her back, rubbing her tenderly, before moving them back to aid her in your symphony of lovemaking.
As the pleasure begins to mount within her, Redheart presses her lips firmly to your own, stoking the flames of your love and desire. You return her kiss for a few moments, before a need for breath tears your mouths apart.
The feeling and emotion continues to surge within both of you. Knowing this may be your last time for a while, she seems to be sharing your desire to savor every loving moment you are bound together, for as long as possible. Despite the feverish throes of passion, together, you manage to share a loving gaze into each other’s eyes, while the rapturous motion continues between you. You’re thrusting in time with her gentle bucking, drives your senses to the brink of overload. Another gaze into her griping sapphire eyes, reveals a pair of tears, trailing down her perfect cheeks, moving you deeply. You feel your eyes begin to water, while your heart continues to beat with your ever-growing love for her.
A series of adorable squeaks and moans fly from her mouth as you feel her body begin to tremble from the ravages of ecstasy. Your own body begins to burn in time with the crackling flames of the fireplace, feeling the mounting pressure in your manhood. Then, when you feel as though you are just about beyond your own limit, Redheart’s body freezes for a moment. She lightly arches her back, and casts out a heavenly loud moan of intense pleasure. You feel the familiar moisture fall along you as you join her in letting out several loving moans, casting your gift repeatedly into her.
You place your arms tightly around her, feeling her hooves dig into your shoulders as you both gasp heavily for air.
Several minutes pass and your breathing begins to return to normal. You place a hand along her velvety cheek, feeling your love for her pour out with every thump of your heart. A few more tears fall from her eyes as she nuzzles against you, making you squeeze her again. Unable to hold them back, you feel a few of your own tears break free, slipping out from the corners of your eyes. The pleasure and serenity of the moment have taken you captive, driving you beyond the brink of tears.
Staring deeply into her orbs, you and Redheart close your eyes, allowing your lips to seek each other out. You share the most loving of kisses with her. Then, after your kiss ends, and even though you said it only minutes ago…you whisper, “I love you, Redheart.”
She coos softly, “I love you.” Your mare speaks your name in a whimper and repeats, “I love you.”
You continue to cuddle on the sofa, enjoying the warming embers of the fire, while it continues to crackle away.
Then after a few more minutes pass, you both decide to secure the house, and call it a night, now that the hour passes ten.

The night presses on peacefully. You and Redheart are nestled close together, under the comfort of your warm covers.
A quiet but familiar sound rouses you from your slumber. It’s the sound of Redheart, sobbing softly. Opening your eyes, you turn to see her, still by your side, her eyes glistening with tears, in the dim glow of night.
Reaching out for her, you pull her close, “Honey, what’s wrong?” She places her head in the crook of your neck, and continues to sob. You secure your arms around her, and keep her close, running your hand along her soft furry back. “Shh, it’s all right, I’m here.”
She takes in a deep breath and pulls back from you. Her eyes continue to sparkle from the glaze of fresh tears. You reach out and gently wipe them away.
Redheart takes another deep breath. “I’m sorry. I woke up and was watching you sleep, but then it dawned on me, tomorrow you leave for Manehatten,” she sighs, “I promised myself I wouldn’t waste any of our time together crying, before you left…but, I couldn’t.”
You squeeze her again, and kiss her forehead. “There’s nothing wrong with that.”
“Yes there is,” she sniffles, “I’m stronger than this, so why can’t I keep it together? It’s only for a week, but still…I can’t seem to keep from crying.”
You rock her gently in your arms. Firmly but gently, you respond, “Your tears are not a sign of weakness. They are…an expression…o-of your f-feelings.”
Redheart looks at you closely, noticing the faltering of your words. “Aww, sweetheart…how could I not think it’s bothering you, too.” Her hooves move to encircle you, pulling you closer. “I know we’ll get through this.”
You nuzzle against her softly, “Yes, we will.”
“Hold me close.”
Running your fingers through her lightly mussed mane, you whisper, “Always.” You share a tender kiss. Then she lays back down, while your arms embrace her, in the calm of night. You sigh quietly, recalling something you’ve been meaning to tell her. “Redheart, you want to know something?”
“What’s that?”
“Back on Earth, I use to spend a lot of time wondering why I could never find anyone special. Now that I’m here, on your world, I’m glad I never did. Otherwise, I might not have taken Celestia’s offer, and then I never would have met you. All I’ve ever wanted was someone like you, to hold in my arms,” you muse, feeling tears silently creep into your eyes.
She places her hooves along your bare chest, and snuggles close to you. “Thank you, for being you.”
“Anytime,” you smile thoughtfully, “My very special somepony.” You chuckle warmly as you rest your chin along the top of her mane.
She giggles at your thoughtful remark, and then she lets out a quiet yawn. “I’m feeling sleepy, shall we get some more rest?”
“I’d love to,” you whisper, kissing her head softly.
You adjust the covers over you, and hold her close, sighing contently. Redheart rubs her nose against yours, before you both fall back to sleep.

Sunday morning arrives all too quickly, and before you both know it, you have to gather your belongings and head for Ponyville station. You arrive around 12:15, and the train has already pulled in to be refueled with fresh coal and water, for its journey.
After checking your bags, you present your ticket and are instructed to wait until the boarding call has been announced.
The following minutes seem to fly by, much quicker than either of you wanted them to. Now, only a few minutes remain.
Redheart stays close beside you as you both walk along the platform. She hasn’t said a word since the two of you stepped onto the boarding zone. You turn to her and sigh softly. “Well, I guess this is it,” you swallow hard, trying to maintain your composure. You know you’ll only be gone for a mere week, yet for some unfathomable reason, you are finding facing it to be harder that you expected.
Redheart finally looks up at you. You see why she wasn’t saying much. Her sapphire eyes are glistening with tears, tears you can see she’s fighting back with every fiber of her being. The expression on her face tells you she’s feeling the same as you, which makes it all the harder for you to leave. But you have to, duty calls, and you don’t want to disappoint the mayor. It’s thanks to your job at town hall that you and Redheart can easily afford your home. On her own, she doesn’t earn near the money she should, given all the tireless work she puts in at the hospital.
“Thank goodness, it’s only for one week,” she mutters, taking in a staggered breath.
“Yeah. I’m sure it’ll go by before we know it,” you remark confidently, trying to lighten the mood. “Sure it’ll…go by…”
Redheart throws her hooves around you, and holds you tightly. “Just stop it, you don’t have to pretend everything’s okay…for me,” she responds. As she looks up at you, you can see the tears are already flowing freely, despite her endless efforts to fight them back.
“I…” you stammer.
She pats your side and glances at your eyes, and can see how they twinkle with tears you are refusing to acknowledge, but you know are ever present. “I know it’s hurting you, because it’s hurting me, too. You don’t have to fight the tears for me,” she sniffles, “You said it yourself, our tears aren’t a sign of weakness…so just stop fighting them…I can’t bear it.”
“But I…” you ramble.
“Please…don’t.”
“I didn’t want to cry…until I was alone…in m-my h-hotel…room,” you mumble, your words breaking down, syllable by syllable, until finally, you can bear no more. You drop to your knees and throw your arms around Redheart, and crack out a sob you were unable to hold back. “R-R-Redheart…sniff…I’m going to miss you…so much…e-even during this short time…we’ll be a-apart,” you cry, resting your head on her shoulder, feeling the tears run from your eyes.
Her forelegs hold you tighter as she lightly pats your back with one of her hooves. “I know, I know,” she utters, speaking your name. “I’m going to miss you…t-too. But a-as you s-said, we’ll…make it through t-t-this.”
Then the conductor bellows, “All passengers bound for Manehatten, may now board at this time! We’ll be pulling out in five minutes, say your good-byes and board now! Thank you!”
The other ponies on the platform say their farewells and make their way on board the train.
You and Redheart have calmed yourselves and dried your eyes. Now all that’s left to do is say your farewell to each other.
“I’ll think about you constantly, Redheart. And even if my mind should wonder, it won’t be long till my thoughts return to you,” you squeeze her in your arms, saying your piece.
“And you’ll never be far from my thoughts. I’ll be right here, in Ponyville, waiting for you! Never forget how much I love you!” she declares, giving you one last gaze into her heavenly eyes.
“And always know, just how much I love you!” you assert, sharing her loving gaze, managing a smile for her.
You both lean in close and join your lips for a tender and passionate farewell kiss. There is no hesitation as you share a loving open-mouth kiss. Knowing time to be short, your mouths break apart, and for the first time, you really notice that string of saliva as it fights a losing battle, trying to keep you both together.
“All aboard!” calls the conductor, making one last boarding call.
“That’s me,” you start, giving Redheart one last hug. Gripping your carryon bag, you head toward the conductor stallion, and present your ticket. He checks it over and nods, directing you to the appropriate car. You head for the door and take one last look back at Redheart. She walks over with you, giving you a loving smile. You return her affectionate look. “I love you!”
“I love you, too!”
You share one final hug, before you turn and board the car, making your way to your seat, which thankfully is one you have all to yourself. Its window faces the platform, and as you look out it, you can still see your mare. Redheart quickly discovers where you’re seated and waves her hoof at you. You smile at her and wave back.
The train begins its slow departure, sounding its whistle, slowly picking up steam. The station and your mare begin to move away as the train clatters down the tracks. She continues to wave at you as she starts to grow smaller and smaller from your vantage-point. Across the distance, you can make out a sparkle in her eye, and quickly realize it must be another tear. Thankfully, you are able to keep your composure this time, but your heart still feels deeply touched by how much you mean to her.
Placing your hand over your heart, you know when next you both meet, your love will have strengthened more than ten fold. Quickly, you turn to your carryon bag. Unzipping the front compartment, you remove the picture you brought, of your and her. In it, you are both standing close together, your arm is draped around her and you both have jubilant smiles on your faces. It eases your anxiety as you take one finally look back, but the platform has become so distant. You can only guess she is still standing there, waving good-bye to you. Even if she can’t see you, you decide to wave once more. Then you turn forward in your seat and take a deep breath. You’re on your way, to the city of lights.

Your arrival in Manehatten goes pretty well. After checking into your room at the Harringhoof Hotel, you spend the rest of your Sunday getting settled. You waste no time in placing your picture of Redheart on the nightstand, by your bed. Even though you’ve only been apart for a matter of hours, you miss her already.
Walking over to the window, beside the small sliding door, which leads to a small balcony, you pull over the curtain and gaze out at the thriving metropolis. You sigh, and hope this week will go by quickly. Though despite being parted from your lover, you will prevail. The mayor has sent you here with an important task, and you will certainly do your best.

The main attraction begins Monday morning. You walk into Mayor Lampwick’s office, in Manehatten town hall. After being given a brief introduction to her staff, she explains what she expects you to accomplish over the next five days.
Once the formalities are out of the way, her staff shares their warm greetings and gratitude at you for making the journey to their office. They are really looking forward to adding your impressive techniques to their normal day to day procedures. For some reason, “impressive” hardly seems to spring to mind, when you think about your normal tasks, back in Ponyville.
The first two days seem to go quite well. The clerks share with you the normal way they go about handling most of their office tasks, including an even bigger mountain of paperwork, and then you see just how your system will vastly improve things for them. Who’d have guessed? You grin at the idea of being able to help make such a difference for them.
Before long, the second day comes to an end, and you find yourself back in your room. Since your stay is all expenses paid, courtesy of Mayor Mare, you order room service for dinner. Even in the city of lights, it’s ridiculously cold outside. Rather than venture away from your warm room, you figure staying here and ordering in makes more sense.
Following your meal, not that your appetite was quite as healthy as it normally is, you walk back to the window, and stare out into the sprawling structures of the city, listening to the clamoring of the ponies as they go about their normal evening rituals.
Stepping away, you walk over and flop onto your bed. Looking over, you spy the picture of you and Redheart. You pick it up and stare at it for a while, feeling grateful that you have the most wonderful mare in Equestria to go home to. Three more days remain, before the eve of your trip home. Hopefully they won’t drag on too much.

Wednesday evening rolls around, Redheart returns home from another day at the hospital. After stepping in out of the cold, she walks to the sofa, only to be reminded that you are still away on your trip.
She flops down on the sofa, and lets out a dejected sigh. Nearly three and a half days have gone by since you left. Your mare lays down, resting her weary head along the throw pillows. She places a hoof over her heart, and feels the pain of missing you continue to ache strongly within her.
It makes her smile to think back to the events of Saturday night. You two certainly made some wonderful memories together. She smiles, recalling how happy you were when she put on the Santa girl outfit and those naughty satiny panties. Following the memory of your playful antics, she walks to the bedroom, and retrieves the picture of the two of you together. The smiles on your faces bring a feeling of warmth to her soul as she returns to the sofa. Laying back down, she holds the image close to her heart. Then she recalls how you both made passionate love in front of the comforting fireplace.
Setting the picture on the small coffee table, she resumes resting on her side. She sighs softly, shedding a lone tear. The pain of missing you becomes all too real. Before another tear can fall, she’s able to calm herself, knowing that you will be home in a few days. She continues to count her blessings that you aren’t going to be apart longer, like if your trip had been for a month or more.
Looking to your picture, she begins to think of all the things that she wants to do with you, upon your return. Holding you in her hooves, seems to top the list. Well, that and making love with you is also up there. The lack of your presence only seems to increase her desire for you even more, and knowing you, she suspects you’d be more than happy to wait and simply hold her close. Your patience and restraint often drive her wild with even more lust for you.
She sighs contently, and smiles, knowing how wonderful it will be once you are home again.

The week in Manehatten continues on smoothly for you. The mayor’s staff seems to have picked up your techniques quite easily and already they have begun seeing some changes as the result. You feel the normal sense of accomplishment that you do back in Ponyville.
Now that Friday has arrived, you complete your work and are given a happy farewell by Mayor Lampwick and her gracious staff. She assures you that your efforts won’t go unappreciated.
With your work done for the day, you once again return to your hotel room. This will be your last night in Manehatten, the city of lights, and you couldn’t be happier.
This time tomorrow, you will be back with Redheart and getting ready to crawl under the covers, together. You smile and lightly grin from the idea of being with her again. The first thing you want to do is hold her in your arms and give her a tender kiss. Then, you marvel at the thought of taking her into the bedroom and sharing a night of heated passion with her.
Gazing out your window, you notice the increased cloud cover. You saw it roll in as Celestia began setting the sun. A few stray objects float past your window. Rubbing your eyes, you look again, hoping you aren’t seeing things. Then, you see more of these things drift through the air. Could it be snowing?
Zipping over to the sliding glass door, you open it and step out onto the small balcony. Looking over the side, you can see that it is snowing. The flakes are illuminated by the glow of Manehatten’s building lights and streetlights.
The cold quickly nips at your body, forcing you to retreat back inside. Shutting the sliding door, you return to the other window and watch the snow. You remember what Redheart said last week, that the Cloudsdale Weather Patrol would have a snowfall scheduled in time to ensure a white Hearth’s Warming. With only three days remaining till the big day, you are glad they didn’t waste any time.
Dressing down, you turn back the covers of your bed and lay down. For a time, the excitement of heading home tomorrow makes sleep seem to elude you. Before you know it however, you drift off, and begin sleeping deeply.
The sound of your alarm wakes you. You slap the snooze bar, and contemplate tossing the timepiece across the room. Then it hits you…morning has arrived! You finally get to go home!
After getting dressed, you prepare to walk over to the window, eager to see the fresh coat of white on the city. But as you near the window, you hear the sounds of gusts whipping against the side of the hotel. Swallowing nervously, you draw back the curtain. Peering out the window, you see there is more than a mere coat of snow on the city. In fact, the snow is still falling, only to your alarm, it seems to be squalling down over the city, much in the same fashion as a blizzard.
With haste, you make your way downstairs, heading for the lobby. The hotel manager is standing there at the bottom. A grim expression consumes his face.
You walk up to the gray stallion and see his green eyes look right over to you. Setting down your bags, you look at him curiously.
“What’s going on?” you clamor.
He lowers his head and turns toward the front entrance. “I’m afraid we’re caught in a blizzard, my friend,” he replies in a solemn voice.
“What, blizzard? But I thought the pegasi control the weather. So why would they give us a blizzard?” you wonder eagerly awaiting an answer.
He sighs, “Well, it was supposed to be a simple snow shower, one that would drop about two to four inches of snow on this part of Equestria. But, the storm cell was far stronger than the Cloudsdale Weather Patrol expected. Sometime overnight, it grew in power and rapidly turned into a blizzard. Last we heard from the Cloudsdale Weather Center, their patrol teams were trying their best to regain control of the storm, but so far…”
“Oh, no!” You feel a rush of panic. “What about my train home?” you spy the clock in the lobby. “It leaves in an hour.”
He walks over and places a hoof on your shoulder. “I’m sorry, son, but I’m afraid all trains have been cancelled. There is over a foot of snow out there already. And with the wind blowing and drifting it, I’m not sure if the plow teams can clear the roads before this ends,” he reluctantly answers.
“Then…what am I going to do?”
Trying to offer you a positive face, he says, “You can stay here in your room. The mayor has issued a snow emergency and is urging all citizens and visitors to remain indoors. Until things clear up, you can remain here, free of change, like the rest of our guests.”
Well that solves one problem, but wait, you’d best let Redheart know. For that matter is Ponyville affected?
“Sir, is there anyway I can use a phone to call home?” you inquire.
He shakes his head dejectedly. “I’m afraid not. The storm has crippled our communication lines. And from what I hear, this storm is dumping snow on most of the tri-city area and even some places beyond. We're lucky to still have power.”
“Oh, okay. Thank you for telling me. Uh, I guess I’ll go to my room,” you utter, failing to conceal your disappointment.
As you walk up the stairs, heading for your room, you hear him call after. “We’ll keep you and our other patrons posted, should anything change. For now remain in your room, like I suggested our other guests do.”
You nod back and leave the lobby. Returning to your room, you flop on the bed and remain there, feeling helpless. Not only are you stuck in Manehatten, you have no way to let Redheart know that you’re okay, and that you won’t be home till the storm clears.
You can only hope she is keeping up with the weather reports, assuming Ponyville is fairing better than the city of lights.

Ponyville isn’t being hit with the worst of the blizzard. So far, only a little over four inches of snow have fallen. Nevertheless, Redheart makes her way to the train station, eagerly awaiting the arrival of your train. To her dismay however, she finds out that the snowfall in Manehatten is far worse and your train has been delayed, at least until the weather eases and they can clear the tracks.
She returns home, still carrying a heavy heart. It’s been nearly seven days, now, since you’ve last seen each other. Her love for you has indeed grown stronger, but right now, she would give almost anything, just to see your face and hear your voice again.
Despite this alarming setback, she remains hopeful that you may still make it home, today.
Night falls, and there isn’t so much as even a peep out of you on the phone. No pony from the mayor’s office called either, to explain the situation. The local paper reported that the Cloudsdale Weather Center is trying its best to regain control of the storm cell, which blew up into this harrowing disaster.
Several hours go by, until finally, Redheart falls asleep. Her concern for your wellbeing kept her up, but her body began to grow weary, and without even realizing it, she dozed off.
A sudden racket rouses your mare from her slumber. Redheart doesn’t think much of it at first. Then she wonders if perhaps you are finally home, and are just trying to quietly slip into bed, without waking her. A rush of excitement falls over her. She reaches out her hoof for you, but to her dismay, you aren’t there.
Flipping back the covers, she confirms that she is alone. She crawls out of bed and walks over to the dresser, where your picture sits. Carefully, Redheart picks it up in her hooves, and stands in your room, waiting in the dark. Casting out a sigh, she lowers he head, feeling the pain in her breaking heart. She doesn’t blame you, but the fact that you aren’t back, begins to overwhelm her.
Redheart holds your picture close to her heart and begins to cry. Tears rain down from her eyes as the pain of your absence causes her body to tremble with each muffled sob. Finally, she breaks down and begins crying louder wishing you’d walk into the room, and hold her in your arms.

Back in Manehatten, a day has passed, since you were due back in Ponyville, and little seems to be changing. It’s nighttime, once again. Walking over to the window, you draw back the curtain. Gazing out into the city of lights, you notice that even more snow litters the streets, and is even beginning to obscure the lights of the more distant buildings.
You made several trips to the lobby throughout the day, but sadly, all communications are still down. While, you’re confident that Redheart has learned about the situation from weather reports and her friends, you still wish you could speak to her. You know how she tends to worry at times. If you could at least tell her that you’re safe and sound in your hotel…it would mean the world to you.
Standing there by the window, you continue to watch the snowflakes fall. Each passing second that you are stuck here feels like a dagger being thrust into your heart. You know she must be hurting, because you certainly are.
Walking over to the nightstand, you retrieve your picture of her, and hold it close to your eyes. You miss her greatly. Beyond all hope, you pray that the weather clears. Then when you return to her, perhaps your loving touch…will be enough to take away the pain you never meant to cause her.
Standing there, holding her picture, you begin to think about all the times you’ve spent together. Some of the more recent events spring to mind. The time when you cared for her during that nasty head cold she came down with. Even though it was under trying circumstances, you would gladly go through it again. Nothing means more to you than her wellbeing. Even as you recall the time you recovered from your injured shoulder, you still kept her health as your top priority.
You manage a smile for her picture as you think back to Saturday night, a week ago. That was quite an early present Redheart gave you. Dressing up like that, then sharing a trip to the bathroom, and making love on the couch in front of the warming fire...it was all so…wonderful.
The more you stare at her picture, the more you being to miss everything about her. That’s when you being to realize, after searching for so long, everything seems clear. Redheart is the one that completes you and makes you feel happiest. Anytime you are sad, she cheers you up. Whenever you’re angry, she finds a way to calm you. She seems to always be there for you, and now, when she needs you most, you can’t be there. This thought weighs heavily on your mind, now that you’ve come to this realization.
You sit down on the edge of the bed and hold her picture close. Your chest begins to heave as you hear a few staggered sobs sneak past your mouth. “Redheart…I-I’m so s-sorry!” Tears begin to fall from your eyes, framing your face, while you cradle her picture in your arms.

Later that night, back in Ponyville, Redheart startles awake. Just like last night, she could swear she hears you sneaking in, but sadly, she is still alone.
Unable to ignore the remotest possibility that you are back, she checks around the house, but sadly you aren’t here. Redheart sighs heavily, knowing that like you, she’s searched her heart over, many, many times. The thought of the two of you not being together, is like there being no stars to light the sky at night.
Stepping into the living room, she gazes up above the slowly dying fire. A large picture of the two of you hangs up in a simple frame, and reminds her of the days…you promised each other you’d always be together, through the good times and the bad. That’s why right now, she’d happily give up all of her presents…just to have you safely back home. For what good would any presents be, if you weren’t there to share in her joy?
Redheart gets back into bed. She sighs heavily knowing the pain in her heart will cause her to cry herself to sleep, again. Regardless of her tears, she refuses to give up all hope, and prays you’ll still be home…in time for Hearth’s Warming.

Finally, Hearth’s Warming Eve arrives. You stand in your room at the Harringhoof Hotel, and are feeling like a prisoner, now. Just how long will this cursed blizzard last? Snow continues to fall, adding to the already bloating streets. Nearly two feet of frozen rain have fallen! It’s beauty now lost in the sheer excess that suffocates the streets of the once sleepless city.
You feel like banging your head against the wall. Once again the sun has dropped below the horizon, like a lead brick, bringing another night all too quickly to Manehatten.
Despite your stubbornness, even you are starting to become uncertain if you’ll make it home before the next dawn. There is just no let up! But you can’t simply give up, can you? No, of course you can’t! For Redheart’s sake, you mustn’t lose heart.

The hour continues to grow late, back in Ponyville. Redheart lays in bed, lightly dozing. She startles awake, when she realizes she had almost fallen asleep. Looking over by the candle she kept burning, she sees the alarm read 11:30. Soon, Hearth’s Warming Eve will be over and the day will officially arrive.
The idea of you still not being home begins eating at her again. Reaching over to your side of the bed, she nabs your pillow in her forelegs, and holds it close. Redheart buries her nose in your pillow, while gripping it tightly in her hooves. It carries the scent of your shampoo, your cologne, and far more importantly…the smell of your sweat and thus the scent of you ! The aroma always tickles her nose whenever the two of you are intimate.
While your musk brings a sense of easement to her, Redheart still continues to miss you. She begins to realize it's futile to hope you’d simply walk through the door any minute, causing her heart sink into the pit of her stomach. Once again, she begins to cry, wondering when the horrid snow will ever end, and allow you to come back to her.
Gazing up from your pillow, bearing tear soaked cheeks, your mare spies the picture of you both, together. She placed it back on her nightstand so it would be close to her as she slept. The soft glow of the flickering candle illuminates the image. Wiping a few tears form her eyes, she glimpses the words you wrote below, which reads: Redheart and Me together forever!
Again, she clutches your pillow tightly and continues to cry for you, until she notices a knock at the front door.
She pauses for a moment, but figures it’s just the wind. Then the knocking sounds again. Gradually, she steps out of bed and places her cold hooves on the equally cold floor, slowly trotting toward the door, and still carrying your pillow in one of her forelegs.
The knocking fills her with dread, because you have a key, why would you need to knock?
Arriving at the door, she checks the peephole, but all she can see is darkness beyond the porch. Maybe it really is just the wind. Cautiously, Redheart opens the door. She had left the porch light on hoping it would light your way, should you make it home. Your mare looks outside and can’t really make anything out, her eyes are still wet with tears and a dark outline seems to block her view.
The figure steps closer into the light, and Redheart’s mouth falls open, almost like she’s seen a ghost. Could it really be you? Taking a close look at you, she notices your chest is heaving and you seem breathless. That, and your eyes…they appear to be red from crying.
Redheart begins to think she must be dreaming again. After wiping her eyes, she calls your name, to which you promptly nod in response. Her eyes light up as she slowly drops your pillow onto the floor. She begins crying loudly as she rushes out to you, throwing her hooves around you, saying your name over and over again!
“It really is you!” she wails.
You place your arms around her tightly, and don’t even fight back your emotions. You join her in crying loudly, feeling tear after tear trickle down your face. Resting your cheek along her head, you chuckle between sobs, “Yes. I’m home, Redheart. I’m home, my darling.” You begin running your hand along her head, saying her name repeatedly, never happier to be able to speak it to her.
Feeling the cold of night nip at you, you place your arms around her waist and lift her in your arms, taking both of you back inside, closing the door with a swift jab of your foot.
The two of you nestle down on the couch, in front of the fading embers of the fire. She rests her hooves against you, and slowly unzips your coat, so she can better share your warmth. You in turn, secure your arms around her, never happier to have her back in your embrace.
Redheart nuzzles her cheek against you. “How, did you make it back? I thought you’d be snowed in for days?”
“Several hours ago, the Cloudsdale Weather Patrol managed to regain control of the blizzard, with the help and leadership of Rainbow Dash! Thanks to her, the storm was ended and the city could begin clearing away the two feet of snow,” you reply, rubbing your cheek against hers, and working your fingers lovingly through her heavenly mane. Redheart wraps her hooves around you and squeezes you tenderly. You sigh happily. “I caught the very first train back to Ponyville. When I arrived, I ran the whole way back here as quickly as I could, making my way through the snow.” You snicker, “I didn’t even bother to get my luggage.”
You pause for a moment and drink in another needed gaze at your mare. Caressing her lengthy pink locks, you smile at her and feel yourself getting choked up. “I didn’t worry about my bags, because I just wanted to see you…I didn’t care about anything else,” you profess, holding her tightly. “I’m…I’m so sorry I wasn’t able to get a hold of you.”
Redheart reaches up and wipes a few stray tears from your face. “It’s fine, my love. I’m just so glad to have you back home,” she sighs, feeling her eyes tear up once again. She holds you in her loving embrace, and continues to cry with you.
You hold her close, letting her head rest on the crook of your shoulder. “I’ll never let you go again,” you whisper.
“Neither will I,” she utters softly.
Redheart blinks her eyes at you and shares a loving gaze with you. A familiar blush encompasses her face as you both move in for a tender kiss. Your lips break apart after several seconds, but you both quickly go back for another and another. Then, she smiles at you and hugs you tightly, feeling so very happy to have you back.
She looks up and can just make out the nearby clock. “Looks like you’re home in time for Hearth’s Warming,” she muses, sniffing back a straggling tear.
Running your hands along her velvety white back, you partially laugh and cry, “I am, I really am!”
Redheart rubs her hoof along your covered chest. “You must be tired after running all the way back home. Why don’t we head to bed? After all, there’s always tomorrow…and we can enjoy some well-deserved time off. Besides, as long as I have you, I have the best possible present!”
“Aww, Redheart.” You chuckle warmly at her. “Okay,” you yawn, “I am feeling a bit sleepy. I didn’t sleep well at all this week.”
She joins you in casting out a quiet yawn. “Oh my. I didn’t sleep well either. Oh, your pillow,” she starts. But before she leaves your side, she leans in and kisses you even deeper than she did before. Redheart slowly pulls back, giving you the most loving of faces.
After she fetches your pillow, you place your arm around her and join her in walking to the bedroom. You dress down to your underclothes, and after taking care of a few details in the bathroom, you crawl under the covers with her.
Redheart slides closer to you than ever, placing her hooves tenderly against your chest. After adjusting the blankets, you enfold her with your loving arms, holding her securely yet gently. You reach up and enjoy stroking a lock of her silky mane.
“I’m so glad to see you again. I missed you…so much.” You sigh, feeling at ease with her by your side.
“And I missed you…more than words could ever say,” she responds, nuzzling you affectionately.
You chuckle contently, “Well, I can think of three words, that might.” Pausing to take a breath, you whisper, “I love you.”
Redheart giggles happily, and quietly utters, “I love you, so very much.”
“I know, Redheart, and I’m so glad to hear you say it.”
You both cuddle for a few more moments, and each yawn softly. Then you both drift off, with smiles on your faces, delighted beyond words that you’re together again.

You slowly awaken and discover that it’s a little after 5AM. Redheart is still in your loving embrace. Feeling a powerful joy in your heart, you squeeze her softly, continuing to feel thankful that you’re home again.
Laying there beside her, you enjoy gazing upon her beautiful face. You revel at feeling her gentle breath fall against your neck, filling you with happiness. Studying her face, you notice a stray lock of her hair hanging lazily over her eyes. Gently, you reach out and rejoin it to her mane, caressing her gingerly as you do so, making sure not to wake her.
You suddenly discover that you need a trip to the bathroom. If the circumstances were different, you’d consider waking her and asking her to join you, but she looks so peaceful – you haven’t the heart to awaken her. Carefully, you pull away from Redheart and slip out of bed, doing your best not to disturb her.
Silently, you creep over to the bathroom, partially closing the door behind you. After lifting the seat and lid, you tug your underwear to the side and start whizzing into the toilet. Your urine splashes into the bowl as you let out a soothing sigh. To your surprise, you notice Redheart saunter up beside you. You’re not sure if she’s really there at first, seeing as you still feel half-asleep. Her tail flips to the side and she lightly spreads her hind legs. Redheart starts peeing beside you into the toilet, and sighs softly as she joins you in getting up to speed. Glancing over at her, you see her smile through sleepy eyes.
She giggles softly at you. “So, thought you were going to go without me, huh?”
You snicker at her, smiling happily. Shaking your head, you reply, “No, I just didn’t want to wake you. You seemed to be resting so peacefully.”
Redheart sighs lovingly as she continues peeing with you. “You’re as thoughtful as ever. Well, I’m just glad I was able to join you in time,” she muses.
“Me too,” you reply, still smiling. The scent of your streams greets your nose, reminding you of the many times you’ve shared this with her, and it also makes you realize this is one of the many things you’ve missed about her.
After enjoying each other’s show for a few more moments, you both begin to empty, coming to an end. Even in her groggy state, Redheart leans over to affectionately shake the lingering drops from you. You feel the heavenly sensation of her loving touch, despite the fact that you’re still waking up.
Thankfully, you’re with it enough to reach over and secure some toilet paper for her. She leans her flanks your way, offering you a charming smile. Gingerly, you wipe the tissue along her folds. Your tender motions cause her to sigh blissfully, “Mmm, this always feels so good.”
“I’m glad.” You feel a warm caress befall your cheeks as you finish drying her. Tossing the toilet paper, you close the lid and smile, placing your hand along her hoof, so you can flush the toilet together. You cover yourself, and notice the tail of your T-shirt needs fixing. After adjusting it, you walk over to the sink with her. She washes your hands, while you clean her hooves and together you both dry each other.
Placing your arm around her, you slowly walk back to the bedroom. “That was a lovely surprise,” you utter affectionately.
“Well, when I realized you left the bed and discovered what you were doing…I thought you might like some company,” she replies, resting her head against you.
“I did,” you chuckle, “Say, do you want to cuddle?”
“Uh-huh, I’d love to.”
The two of you crawl back into bed, folding down the covers. The air in the bedroom is a little brisk, but the hum of the furnace suggests it will soon add its warmth to your room.
Redheart sprawls beside you, resting her eyes on your face. You reach over and gently take her left hoof in your right hand, stroking its fur softly with your left. “I’m so glad we’re together again.”
“So am I.” She places her other hoof along your face, continuing to stare deep into your mesmerizing eyes.
You place your arms around her and hold her close, then you lean toward her, joining your lips to hers. Redheart wraps her hooves around your neck and happily returns your loving kiss, moaning softly as your lips gently wrestle against each other.
You moan tenderly, savoring the kiss for just a few more moments. Both of you pull back a bit, and she gazes at you half-eyed. “I can’t tell you how much I’ve missed your kiss.”
Giving her a loving expression, you smile at her. “I’ve miss yours as well. In fact, holding you in my arms and kissing you was one of the things I wanted to do most, once I returned.”
Redheart gives you a playful look and softly giggles, “Well, you have, and now that you’re back…what else would you like to do with me? Hmm?” Her sapphire eyes bat at you in the dim glow of her nightstand lamp.
A grin forms on your face. “Well, we just did one of the things I missed a few minutes ago…but the other thing…” Your expression shifts to a far more tender and loving one. Looking at her from head to tail, you marvel at her beauty and unmistakable cuteness. You sigh lovingly, reaching your hand out, affectionately petting her side, thrilling from the velvety texture of her fur. Your fingers glide down, until they arrive at her cutie mark. Very slowly, you begin tracing the red cross and four pink hearts with your loving digits. She closes her eyes and gasps softly from your delicate touch. “…I’ve been wanting you so badly…for days now. I want to feel your weight against me as we make love,” you yearn, a strong note of lust in your quiet voice.

Redheart sighs, and enjoys feeling your chest rise and fall as you continue to breathe. “This is always so relaxing.”
Again you stroke her mane, and nuzzle against her. “It is. So my dear, shall we,” you yawn, “get some more rest?”
She giggles softly at you before yawning herself, “Yes…I’d love that…resting closely, by your side. Besides, it feels a little nippy in here.”
Gently, you scratch behind her ear. “It does. Well, I’d be more than happy to keep you warm,” you muse.
“I know you would,” she sighs lovingly.
You both crawl under the covers, and reaching down, you pull the sheets and blankets up over you. Then, you lay on your side as she moves close to you. You place your arms around her and she in turn rests her hooves on your chest.
Redheart rubs her cheek against you, and coos softly. “What a great way to start our Hearth’s Warming.”
Affectionately, you run your hand along her silky mane, gently rubbing your leg against hers. “I know, and it will be a wonderful day, especially since we’ll spend it together,” you reply.
She smiles at you and gently flexes her hind leg back against yours. “It’ll be so nice not having to be alone this year,” she remarks, patting her hoof against your chest.
“That’s right, I remember. You said you were really looking forward to today, because of how many Hearth’s Warming days you spent by yourself.” You squeeze her lovingly and rest your chin against her forehead. “I’m so glad I can be with you, so you don’t have to be alone.”
“Me too. I’ve always dreamed about spending this day with my very own special somepony,” she sighs as her cheeks turn rosy.
“Now you can. Oh yeah, that reminds me. Before I left on my trip, I did manage to get your presents. I hope you’ll like them,” you speak in earnest.
Redheart raises her left hoof and begins brushing it along your hair. “I’m sure I will,” she giggles, “But either way, you’re the greatest present I could ever ask for.”
You feel your cheeks become flush as you feel a surge of happiness pour out from your heart. “Aww, Redheart. That’s so sweet of you to say,” you utter softly.
“I mean it. I just hope…that you like what I got you,” she notes, resting her gaze on you.
You return her caring look and gingerly run the back of your hand along her cheek. “They’ll be fine, whatever they may be. Though, you know something?”
“And what’s that?” she asks, batting her eyes in a flirtatious manner.
“I don’t really need any presents…not as long as I have you.” A strong smile curls up on your lips and you gently sweep your fingers through her hair.
She softly coos your name, gazing at you half-lidded. Redheart leans toward you, while you move to intercept her, suspecting what’s coming. Your lips meet for a deeply passionate kiss. Her hooves surround your neck, while you grip her tightly in your arms. She moans softly along with you, savoring the kiss just as much as you are.
A few moments pass and your kiss ends. Redheart remains in your embrace, starring at you with devoted eyes. You move your hand and scratch behind her ears, again. She gives you a loving smile as she curls her tail up over your legs. You notice its silky texture sweep against your bare skin, adding to your smile.
Looking in each other’s eyes, you share a short goodnight kiss. “I love you, Redheart,” you whisper affectionately.
She softly utters your name, and sighs, “I love you.”
“Are you warm enough?”
“Yes, thanks to you,” Redheart replies, snuggling against you. “Till morning, my love.” She reaches over and darkens her lamp.
“Till morning…” you softly utter, squeezing her affectionately.
You let out a final sigh, as sleep slowly lulls you back under its welcoming veil. The room remains calm, now that you both have gone back to sleep.

The two of you awaken to a sunny morning. The sun’s golden rays beam in around the curtains, basking the room in it’s warming light. Together, you walk to the window and greet the day, beholding the snow capped Ponyville.
After taking care of your morning routine, the two of you share a tasty breakfast, one that you prepared together.
Now, the two of you have moved to the living room. Redheart is waiting on the sofa, while you are placing fresh wood into the fireplace. After loading the final log, you scatter some kindling around the timber. Reaching to the side, you grab one of the long matches and strike it. You hold the flame against the kindling and in moments it ignites. Carefully, you blow out the match and place the guard in front of the hearth. As the logs begin to burn, a splendid fire begins crackling, adding its warmth to the room.
You happily join Redheart on the couch. She immediately leans against you and quickly the two of you lay on your side, with her resting partially on top of you. She nuzzles her cheek against yours, letting out a contented moan. “I hope we can share plenty of moments like this, while we both enjoy our time off work,” she muses.
You reach up and run your fingers through a few locks of her beautiful pink mane. “So do I,” you utter softly. “It’s going to be a wonderful day.”
She giggles at you, “It is. And later on, I’m going to make you my extra cheesy lasagna for Hearth’s Warming dinner. I hope you’ll like it.”
You chuckle warmly at her, “Well, I love your cooking, so I’m sure it will be great! By the way…you wouldn’t want me to lend you a hand now, would you?” You raise an eyebrow at her, trying not to grin.
Redheart can’t help but giggle at you. “I’d love to prepare dinner with you. It’s always fun when we do things together,” she winks.
Your fingers continue to dance around her mane. “You’re so right. Oh yeah, would you like to exchange gifts now?” you ask.
She nods affirmatively. “Yes. I’ll go gather yours, and you can go get mine.”
“Okay.”
The two of you leave the couch and head to where you’ve hidden the other’s presents. A few minutes pass and the two of you meet in front of the brightly decorated tree.
You carefully place her gifts under its lowest branches, and Redheart in turn places your presents right beside hers. The two of you stand together, enjoying the sight of the twinkling lights as they continue sharing their cheerful glow for you both.
Tenderly, you place an arm around your mare. She leans close to you, while you both gaze at the colorfully wrapped items as they add that finishing touch to your tree.
Redheart softly coos your name. “I’m so happy,” she sighs, her words overflowing with joy.
You run your arm along her velvety side. “Just wait, my love…it’s about to get better,” you muse.
“Yeah,” she whispers.
“Come on,” you urge as you both sit down in front of the tree.
You smile gleefully, handing Redheart her two presents. An equally jubilant expression presides over her face, while she slides your two gifts beside you.
“So, ladies first?” you check, looking at her.
Redheart shakes her head. “Mm-mm, you open one of yours first,” she responds, the gleefulness in her eyes making her seem like an excited filly.
“Okay,” you smile, picking up the cube-shaped package. Your eyes glance over at her and back at the item. “Hmm, I wonder what this might be?” You lightly shake the box, there is no sound and the item is curiously light for its size. Slowly, you begin pealing the wrapping paper, savoring the sensation of opening your first present. As your fingers slide along the smooth texture of the paper, you give in to your inner child and savagely tear the rest of the it off. Setting the removed wrappings aside, you look at what appears to be an old kettle box. Giving her a funny look, you ask, “You got me a kettle?”
She places a hoof over her grinning mouth. “Oh come on, do you know any kettles that are that light?”
You join her in chuckling as you remove the tape from the box flap. “You’re right. So let’s see what I’m working for…hmm,” you mutter. Opening the box, you discover a small white envelope inside. Removing it, you study the writing on it. The face reads: To my lover . Slipping your finger under the flap, you open the envelope and remove the fancy textured paper from within. Holding it up, your eyes widen as you discover what it is. Looking at her, you gasp, “A certificate for the two of us to the Ponyville Day Spa!”
She nods at you with a grin. “Yep. You said you wanted to know if what you heard about that place is true. Aloe and Lotus are known for their skillful techniques. And just imagine you and me, resting side by side getting a massage, then taking a dip in the mineral bath or the hot tub, and ending things with a relaxing trip to the sauna. Mmm, wouldn’t that be lovely?”
You set the certificate down, and throw your arms around her. “Oh yes, spending an afternoon with you in a spa, I bet it would be very relaxing. And I’ve always wanted to see how those two ponies give a massage. I hear their hooves are like magic. And who knows, maybe I could learn a thing of two from them, so I can give you private massages, here at home,” you grin.
She returns your hug and chuckles, “Yeah, that would be fun.”
“Thank you, honey.”
“You’re welcome!”
Moving apart from her, you smile. “Okay now, open one of yours, the small one,” you suggest.
“Hmm, the small one. Okay,” she grins. Redheart takes the item in her hooves and notices the box is rather light. “Are you pulling a fast one on me, too?”
“I don’t know, maybe?” you snicker.
“Well at least I got you,” she notes with a smirk.
“You won’t let me live down putting that picture pendant in that large box for your birthday, will you?”
“Oh, I will, but you know what they say…turn about is fair play,” she giggles, “Now what could this be?” Redheart carefully tears the end of the wrapping paper, and like you, she quickly removes the rest of the coverings. Looking at the box, she remarks, “A box of chocolates?” Throwing you a less than convinced look, she notes the lack of weight, “Hmm, an empty box of chocolates.” Opening it, she discovers a very fancy envelope with gold trim inside. The envelope reads: (Your Name) and Nurse Redheart . She turns it over and opens it. She removes the contents and immediately notices the fancy gold color on the items. Her eyes widen as she reads what’s written on the two tickets. “These are…tickets to the Grand Galloping Gala?!” she gasps in awe. You smile grandly and nod your head. Redheart blinks in disbelief, “How did you get these?”
“Princess Celestia gave them to me about two weeks ago. She was checking on the humans she brought to Equestria and wanted to see how we’re doing. She also said she was giving all of us invitations to the gala, to properly welcome us,” you explain. “Oh yeah, did you see when the gala is being held?”
A big smile remains on Redheart’s face as she eyes the tickets again. Glancing over them she suddenly notices the date displayed on them. “F-F-February…14th?! Heart’s and Hooves Day!” she squeals with delight. “Oh my gosh! You’re taking me to the fanciest gathering in all of Equestria…on the most romantic day of the year?!”
You continue to smile and nod, “I am. Just imagine it.”
Redheart giggles, “Oh I can. Wait! I don’t have anything I can wear. Well at least I have time to get a dress made.”
“Hold that thought,” you reply. “Go on, open your other present.”
She looks at you suspiciously. “Why?”
“Just open it, and you’ll see,” you say in a singsong voice.
Your mare grabs her other gift. It’s in a fairly large, somewhat flat, rectangular box, and there is some weight to it. Rubbing a hoof along her chin, she feels a bit stymied. “I don’t know what this has to do with the gala, but I guess we’ll soon find out,” she notes.
Redheart removes the fancy ribbon from around the package and then slowly begins to tear open the wrapping paper. After getting the one end started, her patience evaporates, leading her to vigorously rip off the remainder of the paper. She blinks excitedly, recognizing her gift to be in one of Rarity’s outfit boxes. “Could this really be?” she wonders, fettering her excitement. Placing her hooves on either end of the box, she fidgets with the lid, before it slides free of the bottom half. Pulling it away, she closes her eyes, and slowly opens them. Her sapphire orbs meet the sight of the dress you had made for her. Redheart’s mouth drops open as she realizes what you got her. “This is…” she stammers. Reaching in, she removes the dress and carefully unfurls it. “Oh my…it really is…you got me a fancy dress!”
“Now you have something you can wear to the gala,” you remark, still wondering if she likes it.
Redheart starts to hum happily as she dances around holding up her dress. “Oh wow, this is simply gorgeous. I’ll have to try it on. The color looks perfect,” then she gasps, “And what’s this?” Checking the box, she discovers a few accessories. “A silver tiara, matching pink stockings, shoes and a necklace!”
“So then, I take it you like it?” you ask.
Redheart deftly sets the dress back in its box. She leans over to you and kisses you deeply on the lips. “Like it…no, I LOVE IT!” she beams with a joyful grin. “How did you manage to get this?”
You laugh at her. “Well, you know those winter coats we got measured for at Rarity’s?”
“Yeah.”
“This is what you were being measured for. There are no coats. Rarity and I just needed a cover story so we could get your measurements without making you curious.”
Redheart giggles at you, “Why you sneaky devil.”
“After Celestia brought those tickets, I remembered you saying you lacked a nice enough gown to go to the gala. I wanted to get something nice for you, and a dress seemed perfect,” you explain gleefully, smiling at her.
She rubs her cheek against yours. “It was more than perfect, it was wonderful, sweetheart. Oh, open your other present. I hope you like it,” she chirps.
“Well, let’s see,” you utter. Picking up your other gift, you note its curiously small size. Just what could this be? Eagerly, you tear off the paper, after briefly savoring the nice job your mare did wrapping it. You study the item closely; it appears to be a sort of jewelry box. “What is this?” you wonder.
“You’ll see,” she replies biting her lower lip.
Carefully, you open the box and study the contents. A joyful smile forms on your face as you remove the item. “A gold pocket-watch?” you ask with intrigue.
Seeing the fascination in your eyes puts her at ease. “Look inside,” she beams, giving you a warm smile.
You pop open the cover and open it up. The watch is beautifully crated and features time in fancy black Roman Numerals, with golden hands. “It’s incredible…and what’s this,” you gasp, “It’s a picture of you, smiling.”
“I thought that would be a nice touch. You said you wanted a keepsake that would always make you think of me. Well, I couldn’t think of anything more fitting, and I thought you’d enjoy having a picture of me with it,” she explains, beaming you a loving gaze.
You close the cover and slip the watch into your pocket. “Thank you Redheart…I’ll keep it with me, always,” you profess.
She leans against you, softly nuzzling your cheek. “No, thank you, for the presents…but most importantly, for being with me. You’ve already made this day unbelievably special.”
For a moment you hardly know what to say. You nuzzle her back and sigh, “You’re very welcome, my love. I know my life has already been vastly improved…thanks to you,” you declared.
“Come on, let’s go over to the couch and cuddle,” she suggests.
“Sure,” you chuckle. The two of you curl up on the couch and nestle close together. Redheart just rubs against you and tenderly caresses your chest, while you return the favor, running your hands along her sides and rubbing your cheek against her silky mane.
She sighs softly, enjoying having you so close to her. “The day isn’t even half over and this is the best Hearth’s Warming Day I’ve had in years,” she notes with a thankful heart.
“I’m glad I could be part of it. And you know something, Redheart?”
“What’s that?” she asks.
“While I was away, I realized just how lucky I am to have you. You complete me, and I hope we’ll be together always,” you muse.
Redheart leans against you, resting her head on your chest. “Me too, my very special somepony,” she sighs, placing her hooves around you. “I missed you so much, while you were gone. You’re still the greatest present of all!”
“Happy Hearth’s Warming my love,” you declare, lightly stroking her mane.
“Happy Hearth’s Warming, my darling,” she sighs, placing her hoof over your hand. Then, Redheart giggles playfully. “You know, I just may have to put that Santa girl dress and those panties back on, this evening,” she muses.
“Oh yeah, my other present,” you recall, “I certainly wouldn’t mind an encore performance.”
“I was hoping you might say that,” she remarks, running her hoof along your cheek.
“But for now, why don’t we just stay here in front of the fire…and cuddle some more. We have some time to make up for,” you note.
She sighs dreamily, while you squeeze her in your arms. “You’re right, sweetheart. And after I try on my dress, we can go start dinner…together.”
“I wouldn’t have it any other way,” you smile, resting your head against hers.
The two of you continue to cuddle on the couch, happily looking forward to the remainder of your first Hearth’s Warming Day, which is already becoming more memorable than either of you could have ever hoped!
