The Nightmare She Cannot Quell
Ready... Set... INTERVIEW!
I was running like a madman, my saddle bags stuffed the the brim with ink, paper, and quills. One hoof was on my hat as I galloped through the busy Canterlot town square. My destination? The castle of the royal pony sisters. I was to be in attendance of princess Luna herself! Amazing right?! Ooooh, that job was going to be mine! Wait... let me start from the beginning.
My name is Inkblot, I am a pegasus stallion of twenty-five. Ever since I was a colt, I wanted to be a reporter. Well, it just so happens Canterlot Daily was looking for just that. One catch, the applicants were required to interview a very famous pony. Guess who I got stuck with? That's right, the protecter of the night herself, princess Luna.
"Kid, you're different from the other applicants." Fancy Words said when my name was called. "You care so much, you want the whole story, no dramatics. You take everything to heart."
Speaking of my heart, it sunk to my stomach. I hung my head in defeat, ready to walk away.
"Never said it was a bad thing." She smiled, making my heart soar high above the clouds and Celestia's sun. "In fact, I think you can interview a very, very special pony."
"Who?!" I asked, fluttering up a foot.
Fancy giggled. "Oh, if you're happy now, just wait..." She smirked at me. "Princess Luna."
My wings seized as I fell to the ground. "LUNA?! As is... THE princess Luna! Who was banished for a thousand years on the moon?"
Fancy nodded, her eyes showing she was excited, too. "The princess agreed that she would allow somepony to interview her, but not somepony who would warp it for drama. Somepony who'd get the real story of Nightmare Moon out, who'd care... essentially you."
"M-me interview princess L-luna?" I repeated, my chest rising and falling faster.
"You got it, sugarcube. And, if the princess thinks you did good, we'll hire you. Deal?"
"Yes! Yesyesyesyesyesyes!" I cried, nearly kissing Fancy Words in my fit of excitement.
"Well, go get ready!" She said, shooing me with her hoof.
"Thank you, again!" I yelled as I stumbled out the door. "I won't disappoint you!"
