When Twilight first considered the thought of being alone for a week while all her friends went across Equestria to enjoy themselves she didn't think much of it. When she lived in Equestria she didn't care about being alone so she could manage just fine on her own now...right?. But when the time came she found herself realizing that things have changed and she now had friends she truly cared about. When the time came and she was standing on the train platform watching her friends drift off into the horizon she couldn't help but feel a slight mixture of jealousy and sadness. "Come on Twilight!, they are only gone for a week" Spike began to attempt to pull Twilight away from the train station and towards the comfort of home. "I guess your right...let's go home" Twilight sighed as she gave in to Spike and began to head in the direction of home. But she wasn't in a rush to get there since she knew the week that followed would not be one full of laughter or fun, rather one filled with boredom and the occasional trip to the shops to get food.
She arrived at home and glared up at the large pile of books she had left for herself to keep her occupied while her friends were away. "See Twilight you have tonnes of stuff to do...like read that book...or that book...maybe even that book!" by the time Spike finished his sentence he knew that this wasn't very convincing. "I'm going to bed" Twilight sighed. Spike wasn't going to question the fact that it was 10am since this gave him a chance to have extra sleep as well, so he just nodded his head in agreement. Twilight spent the rest of day wondering in her mind what her friends were up to and if they were missing her quite as much as she was missing them...
" Oh my Gosh this train journeys going to be so much fun! first we can play a game of eye spy then we can look up at the clouds and say what we see in them ooo and then we can play a game of eye spy again!" Pinkie was bouncing all around the train carriage as she continued to list all the cool things she will get to do with her friend. "uh pinkie, this is where you get off" Rainbow replied in a ever so slightly less enthusiastic tone of voice that showed slight relief. "oh darn! well we can still do all those fun things when we get back to Ponyville, right?" the enthusiasm was drained out of Pinkies voice and was replaced with a slight tone of disappointment. "oh yeah...i look forward to it, have fun doing...whatever you do on a rock farm" at this point rainbow would do anything to get Pinkie to finally leave the carriage and have some peace and quiet. "I will do Dashie! I hope you have fun with whatever you do at a Wonderbolt Performance, are you gonna ask them for their autographs! or maybe ask to join them for the 101st time or maybe you wi-" Pinkies tangent was cut short as she was pushed out of the carriage just as the doors closed. Rainbow gave a large sigh of relief as She fell to the floor ready to have a relaxing journey to Los Pegasus "Thank go that's over..." she uttered as she began to doze off feeling as if she had forgotten about somepony who she left behind
Two days Later...
Twilight had a plan for today, nothing, keeping in mind this was her plan for the last two days she was eager for anything that would give her something to pass the time and today was apparently her lucky day since as she was lying there thinking about all the nothing she was going to get up to there was a knock on the door. Twilight jumped into action instantaneously and bolted for the door hoping that it was something, ANYTHING to keep her occupied for a few minutes maybe even more.
As she opened the door she was confronted by young fillies. "Howdy Twilight! we was wonderin' if yawl could help us get our cutie marks in book readin'" Twilight let out a slight cheer of excitement, she finally had something to do "OK first things first go pick a book of your choice from my library" Twilight was confident this could keep her occupied for at least half an hour if she played her cards right but what she did not take into consideration was the Cutie Mark Crusaders history with making a mess. Within 2 minutes every book was on the floor and the Cutie Mark Crusaders were already fed up with reading. "Come on Crusaders! i'm sure we can find our cutie marks some other way. Next stop, THE CLUBHOUSE" Scootaloo Yelled as the three fillies ran out of Twilight's tree house leaving behind a massive mess of books for Twilight to clean. Twilight gave out a large sigh and began to tidy her house, she once again wondered how her friends were doing and if they would write to her soon. She was surprised that they hadn't written already, especially Pinkie Pie, at first she thought they might be in trouble but she put that idea aside as just being desperate for something to do. What she didn't know at that point was just how right she was, something was wrong and she would soon realize just how bad things had gotten...
