A Queen & You
Part I, Chapter VI - Attempting to Communicate
Previous ChapterPart I, Chapter VIII - The Questioning Of A Love Life
You back away from Chrysalis, as she continues to stare softly into your eyes. Raising your arms out in front of you as if she were dangerous, you back further away from her; trying your hardest to avoid the topic. She merely stood still and watched you with what looked like...amusement.
"Why the hell does she want to hear about me?"
Grasping the door handle as you looked at her in fear, you nearly ran out of The Room, and considered where to go next. The guest bedroom sits to your left, but there's nowhere to go once inside. The bathroom is to your right, but just like the guest room, there's nowhere to go. You could try and run to the front door, making an escape in your car. Taking a step forward, you stop as a thought comes into your head.
"What the fuck does Chrysalis mean she "heard what it beat for"?"
You think it over, and when you realize what it means, you gulp, turning your attention towards the changeling in front of you, a playful smile on her face.
"Son of a—"
Before you can react, you find yourself unable to finish the thought, as a black mass lands itself on top of yourself, pinning you to the ground. She twists herself, allowing her to look down at you with her triumphant smirk while straddling your waist. You try desperately to escape, but find that it's hopeless. Your muscles relax, and you prepare yourself for whatever Chrysalis has for you. However, you weren't prepared for what came first.
She dips her head down, locking her lips with yours, and kissing you deeply. Your eyes open in surprise, a gasp escaping forth as she pushes her tongue past your lips, suckling on it softly before pulling back. This wasn't the longest that the two of you had ever shared, but it was also only the second time you two have done something like it. She looks down at you with a sultry smile as she licks her lips.
"That was for showing me a good time. Thank you." She said with a demure smile.
You're about to reply with "You're welcome", but don't get the chance, as a hoof smacks your face, head lolling to the side. It wasn't enough to hurt, but enough to send a message. Your mouth hangs open as you search for words.
"That was for trying to running away."
Silence falls over both of you, her staring down at you with an unreadable expression as you tried to figure it out. A slight stinging sensation washes over your face, and you wanted ever to try and touch your cheek, but Chrysalis had your arms pinned down with ease. She clears her throat, and you refocus your attention as she begins to talk.
"Now, as I was saying", she begins, a hint of annoyance in her voice at having to repeat herself. "I heard your heartbeat while we were watching Monty Python. Usually, when something like this happens, I have the ability to see into other's lives, mainly to seek out who they are most affectionate for. Your heart withheld some...interesting...information."
She rolls off of you, standing herself back up on all fours. You sit yourself upright, leaning back against the T.V. stand.
"So, would you mind telling me about your love life?"
You open your mouth to speak, but she stops you before any sound comes out.
"I'm not going to take "No" for an answer."
"Fuck."
You inhale deeply, thinking over what you want to tell her. You exhale and begin to talk.
"Well, my first girlfriend, if you could even call her that, was in my Junior Year in high school. Her name was Nadia. She was very pretty, a little bit shorter than me, but when you can tell people that you have a girlfriend, none of that matters. We "dated" for a month, but it was really just constant making out. I can't complain; she was pretty good. The relationship fell through when I caught her with another guy."
You look up, coming out of the first stop on your trip down memory lane. Chrysalis is staring at you attentively, wrapped up in what you're telling her. You look back down at your hands, prepared to continue, but a thump on the ground from your right interrupts. Chrysalis has sat herself down on her haunches, her tail in between her legs. Her wings flitter a little, and after a moment, she becomes still, and you continue to answer her question.
"My next relationship lasted only a week during my Senior Year. Her name was Iris, and she was the one that ended the relationship after her parents found out we were together. After that, I stopped trying to find a girl, allowing myself to get back to work, trying to move out of my parents' house, find a place of my own, make money, stuff like that."
You look up at Chrysalis, who is eyeing you questioningly.
"Are you sure that's all?
You nod your head, while she shakes hers.
"Do I have to do it for you?” she asks. You wish she'd stop, as it was always painful to look back on failed relationships. She didn't notice your despair, and continued anyway.
"Kaiya Doyle: Relationship lasted two months, she ended it. Nicole Lowell: Relationship lasted four days, you ended it after trying to make love, but finding that she enjoyed giving pain. ZDFan83: Relationship lasted two hours, you ended it after finding out "she" was a male. This list goes on and on."
You continue to stare down at your hands, reliving every moment of each of those failed attempts. You don't notice it, but Chrysalis looks at you from her sitting position just in front of you, and a look of sadness washes over her face. She hangs her head, realizing that she is the reason you're feeling down. You hear her wings buzz, and look up to see her slowly float over to you. She lands next to your left arm, and nuzzles it softly. You lift the arm, and she quickly crawls underneath it, snuggling up next to you, resting her head on your chest.
Your hand lands down on her back, and she lets out a sigh.
"You know", she says, looking up at your face. "There was one last relationship on the list. It wasn't one that ended yet, nor has it even begun. Would you like to hear it?"
You already know who it is, as you had known since you first found her in your bed. You want to let her act as if she had found this out for the both of you.
"Sure", you say in nothing more than a whisper.
"It's me. You love me."
Hearing her say it had only cemented the fact. Though you had only met her a few days ago, you grew attached to her. True, things started out rough for the both of you, but as time went on, things got better. The time the two of you had just spent in The Room gave you the perfect excuses to just get to be close to her, and that was all you could ever want. In the show, she'd been portrayed as a vile creature, one designed to strike fear into the hearts of everyone, but your time with her up to this point has shown you otherwise. She continues to look up at you.
"Why me?” she asks. "Nopony has ever loved me, so why do you?"
You lean your head down, giving her a quick peck on her forehead.
"Words cannot explain my feelings for you, my Queen."
Her cheeks grow red as the words leave your mouth. She turns her head away, trying to hide the blush, but fails, as you've already seen it. You smile to yourself, and silence falls over both of you once more. You rub up and down her spine, knowing that that's exactly how she likes it. She coos, and you rub deeper, pushing your palm down just enough to feel each vertebrae. She purrs affectionately, and you continue your ministrations.
You suddenly feel drained, just like shortly after Chrysalis first arrived. You still can't figure out why it happens, but you just roll with it. You look down at Chrysalis, whose eyes are closed, her head still resting on your chest. You watch for a moment as her sleek chest slowly rises and falls with every breath you take. You run a hand through her hair, relishing in the silky feeling running over your fingers. You lean your head back against the television stand.
A smile crosses your face, and you drift off to sleep, holding her tightly in your arms.
