//-------------------------------------------------------// A Queen & You -by Lord of Nothing- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Part I, Chapter II - Rolling Over //-------------------------------------------------------// Part I, Chapter III - The Queen's Questions You sit yourself down on the red loveseat in your living room. You hear the springs creak underneath you as you adjust to get comfortable. "God, this thing is old." You lean your head back and look up at the ceiling, staring into the eternal white. Silence. It's kind of unnerving, and you squirm a little in your seat. Your ears start to ring, and you shake your head to get them to stop, but, unfortunately, it doesn't work. You reach for your iPhone, open the "Music" app, and hit shuffle (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojasq626CgQ). You continue staring at the ceiling, the ringing gone, and the silence now replaced with the sound of Claudio Sanchez's voice. You close your eyes as the music continues to play. You feel yourself drifting off, and you shake your head to keep yourself awake. "What the hell? I haven't been doing anything and I'm tired!" After making the mental note to see what that's all about later, you look down at your iPhone's clock. 7:50 A.M.. Well, shit. You yawn, wiping your face with your left hand, your right one expertly typing your friend's number into the phone's dialpad. The music stops as the phone begins to dial. One ring....two rings....three rings.... "Hello?", Tim's voice breaks in. "Hey Tim, listen, I-" "Dude! Why aren't you here? Boss is flippin' out!" Tim says, the panic in his voice clear as he tries not to get caught talking on the phone during work hours, as per your work's rules. Great, just great. You inhale deeply, weighing your options: Stay home with a creature from a cartoon show, or get yelled at, possibly even fired. You exhale. "Well, he's your problem. I'm not coming in today", you say, tiredly rubbing the sandman's work from your eyes. "What the fuck, dude?! You know you can't just not come in! You've already got two strikes!", he says, trying his hardest to convince you to come to work. You sigh, remembering that fact, now certain that your decision will lead to your firing. "Oh well." You hang up, tossing the phone to the other side of the seat, run your hands through your hair, and lean your head back once again. "Fuck!", you yell, the sound echoing slightly through the small apartment. A knocking is heard from underneath you, and the muffled sound of someone saying, "Watch it!" You hunch yourself over, resting your head in your hands, now contemplating what you'll do to keep a steady flow of income. Your mind flashes back to that show you saw the other night, but you don't particularily like the idea of standing on the sidewalk at night. "Fast food is always an option", you think, noting the fact that there's a McDonalds not too far up the street, but dismiss the thought, realizing that working a grill for eight hours a day wouldn't nearly cover the cost of stuff like gas and amenities. You shake your head, trying to forget about the fact that you now have to go find a job, and let the next song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pn4xWywmFTs) in your iPhone's Library wash over you. You smile as the first few notes of the song hit you, despite the predicament you were in. "Why can't I find magic in a cup of noodles?" The song bursts into its chorus, and you swear you hear a noise coming from the bedroom. You could go back and see if Chrysalis needs anything, but the way she treated you earlier makes you think otherwise. Another question found its way into your head: What would you do with Chrysalis? You know that you would't just kick her out, but with you almost-certainly unemployed now, but should she choose to stay, you would have to find a way to make even more money than you would have with just you on your own. "Why would she want to stay?" The way she treated you earlier was terrible, and she looks capable enough of taking care of herself out in the wild. You begin to wonder if what you heard just a moment ago was the sound of the window opening... You hear a door creak open. You know that she is still indeed inside the room with you, but you choose to ignore her, thinking it better to let her decide when she is ready to be talked to. Out of the corner of your eye, you see her fully upright figure, and realize just how tall she really is. She's almost as big as you for God's sake! An earlier suspicion of her possibly having enough power to overtake you is quickly confirmed. You make a mental note not to get on her bad side in the future, as it looks like she wouldn't even have to use her long, gnarled horn or her holey wings to do so. You eye the odd holes near the base of each of her legs, wondering what purpose they serve, if any at all. You brush it off, then continue to ignore her. She clears her throat, but the silence resumes shortly after. "God, she's really taking her time." The iPhone continues to play. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gudEttJlw3s) Finally, from beside you, Chrysalis' voice breaks the silence. "Well?" You choose not to speak, still wanting her to initiate conversation. You continue to stare forward, eyes locked on the space where the carpeting meets the tile in the kitchen. She growls. "How ungrateful. I grace this world with my presence, and you choose to ignore me!" You turn to look at her, blank expression still plastered on your face. She looks back in disgust. "What a stupid race, you are! You don't even know royalty when it's standing right infront of you!" Your expression changes to a quizical one, and the first question that pops into your head is, "Who are you?" She lets out a small laugh, saying, "I am Chrysalis, Queen of the Changelings!" "Why the hell is she yelling everything?!" The knocking from your downstairs neighbor comes once again, this time with the muffled yells of, "I swear to God! If you keep this up, I'm calling the cops!" Chrysalis is take aback at your neighbors statement, and she quickly scans the room for him, not realizing he's down below. "What? Who dare threatens the Queen!" You can hold your tounge no longer. "SHUT UP!", you yell at the top of your lungs. She raises a hoof to what you can only assume to be her chest, letting out a gasp as she does so, shocked at your outburst. "Shit.....sorry....", you quickly let out, this time no louder than a whisper, praying that she would brush it off. You would much rather take insults over whatever she's about to do. "You...you..." She takes a few steps closer to you, and you try to curl up into a ball and disappear. She continues to mutter "You", and your breathing intensifies. You close your eyes for a moment, and when you look again, you find Chrysalis' right ear obscuring your vision in your left eye. You don't dare say anything as you listen to the sound of her breathing next to your ear. Finally, she inhales, then begins speaking in nothing more than a whisper, as if to allow only the two of you to hear the conversation. "I should kill you where you stand. Right now. It'd be quick." Your eyes widen as fear as you contemplate whether she means what she says or not, and your breathing stops entirely, not wanting to even try and disturb her while she's talking. "But I wont." You let out a sigh, but keep quiet as she continues. "You have some questions to answer." She pulls away, her hair brushing the side of her face as she did so. *** Minutes later, you find yourself sitting on the floor while Chrysalis rested comfortably on the loveseat. You have stayed mute ever since she pulled away from you. Chrysalis clears her throat and begins to talk. "So...", she prods a holed hoof in your direction, almost twirling it around while she held out the word. Your eyes widen in realization, and you quickly burst out your name, then resume being silent. She rubs her front right hoof on her chin in thought. "I see. What a strange name." You fight back the strong urge to yell out, "Yeah, but Chrysalis is stupider!". She clears her throat quietly, then continues. "As I was saying, I have some questions that need I need answered." You nod, finally deciding to speak. "Fire away." "Your Queen did not give permission to speak." You shut up instantly, mentally slapping yourself. "First, where am I? This place doesn't look like anywhere I've seen before." She looks at you, visibly growing impatient as you stare back at her. Finally, she says, "Oh. Um...yes, permission granted," A faint blush of embaressment washed over her cheeks, or, at least what you assumed were her cheeks. "Earth. Big, blue and green, six billion people. Ever heard of it?" She shakes her head. "Nay. We do not have such a place where I am from." You open your mouth to agree, but quickly remind yourself that she is still a character from a cartoon, even if she is sitting right infront of you. You play along. "And where exactly are you from?" "Why do you continue to speak without per-", she stops midsentence. She opens her mouth again a moment later, saying, "I am from the land of Equestria." You nod your head, making your eyes go wide with faux disbelief as if this was the first time you were hearing all of this. "We do not have any of...you...in our world. It is just my Changelings and I, and those wretched ponies." The last word came out as if it were dripping with poison. "What exactly is a "Changeling"?" A light emits from her body, and you shield your eyes. When you look back up, however, Chrysalis is gone, and the loveseat now supports the yellow body of the pegasus, Fluttershy. She looks at you, eyes wide with curiousity; her pink mane flowing over her left eye. You feel yourself slipping into a diabeetus-induced coma, but Fluttershy's body is quickly engulfed in what looks like green flame, and seconds later, Chrysalis is once again on the couch. "A Changeling has the ability to take another being's shape, whether they want them to or not. While in the other beings body, we can mimick them in every way." You nod your head slowly. "So, how did you get here? I'm sure that a world full of ponies and the like wouldn't just have portals open to come to us whenever they feel like it." "Right you are. However, sometimes, a portal can be opened." You let out a soft "Oh" and continue to listen. "I had amassed my army, and our strike on Canterlot was going according to plan, until that oaf, Shining Armor, and his wife were brought back together. They banished my soldiers and I across the land." "Uh-huh." "When I awoke, I found myself in a bed. I did not know how I got there, or where "there" even was." You nod once more. She sighs, then continues. "The last thing I remember, I was asleep. A figure approached me in a dream. It said to me, "Do you want another chance?" I nodded, and then everyhting went black. The memories resume when I awoke in your bed." You sat there and let the information sink in. "That's it?" "Of course", she snaps, an agressive tone returning to her voice. "Are you accusing your Queen of something?" "No, no, no, no", you say, waving your hands out infront of yourself. "I was just asking." "I see", she says, eyeing you suspiciously. "Is that all you wanted to know?" "Actually, yes. As a Changeling, I have the ability to adapth rather quickly. I have one one final question, though. Not about this world, but about you." You gulp, not knowing what she could ask. "Are you at all suprised by my appearance? If this "Earth" is like how you described it, I am certain there are not Changeling Queens just walking around." You sit there and try to think of an answer, not wanting to tell her she's a cartoon character. Finally, an answer pops into your head. "No." "No?" You nod, wishing you had said something better. "Well then, one final question. I promise this time." You prepare answers in your head. "Do you mind if I stay here? I may be able to adapt quickly, but if everypony out there looks like you, it may not be the best idea to leave." Everypony? You are about to to answer, but you realize she insulted you once more. You re-think your decision. Let her stay and be insulted, or let her fend for herself out in the cold? You do have a soul, so insults aside, you open your mouth, nodding as you say, "Yes, you can stay here." She smiles, leaning her head down over her two crossed front legs, and closes her eyes. "Good. Now leave." You stand up quietly, realizing that she's trying to settle into a nap, and head back to your room. You lay on the bed and look up at the ceiling. "Well, maybe this'll turn out for the better." You let your eyes drift shut, and silence takes over the apartment once more. //-------------------------------------------------------// Part I, Chapter III - Unanswered Questions //-------------------------------------------------------// Part I, Chapter IV - Showing the Ropes Your eyes slowly open. The sun's rays that shone through your window before you fell asleep have now been replaced with the eternal blackness of the night, the only light shining through now coming from the moon's beams. You look down to find yourself fully-clothed. "What the hell?" You roll your head to the left, squinting your eyes to read the small, red text on your digital clock. 8:00 P.M. "Shit. Was I really out of it for that long?" You turn your head back into it's resting position, then carefully move your right leg so that it is hanging off of the side of the bed, careful not to move to fast and pull something. You  slowly move your body so that it alligns with the leg, knowing that this will make the process of standing up easier when the time comes. You mentally prep yourself, moving your arms behind you and propping yourself up on your elbows. With the added bit of leverage, you are able to lift your upper body up off the bed without exerting to much force, and as your momentum causes you to hunch over, you hear and feel several 'pops' from your spine. You let out a groan as you straighten yourself, trying to move onto the next step of getting out of bed. "What the hell? Why is this so difficult?" The thought stays in the front of your mind as you lift your arms up over your head, extending them as far as they would go, making sure they got stretched and ready for future use. You move onto your legs next, stretching them one at a time, but extending them out like your arms. You use your hands to push yourself off the matress, and now stand upon the carpeted floor of your bedroom. You lean back slightly and give yourself one final, full-body stretch, hearing two more 'pops' come from your spine. You sigh heavily as your arms return to the prone position. You walk towards the door, trying to remember a dream you had. "It was something to do with My Little Pony, I'm sure. And one of them came to my house, then yelled at me, but who was it?" You twist the cold, gold-colored doorknob, pushing the door outwards and walking forward, rubbing your eyes as you did so. You continued to try and remember who the character in your dream was as you close the door to your bathroom behind you. Minutes later, you flush the toilet, pull your pants back on, quickly run your hands underneath the faucet, then walk out into your living room. "Holy shit!", you whisper-shout, remembering who the figure in your dream was. On your lovesat sits Chrysalis, Queen of the Changelings, eyes closed, and back left leg twitching as if she were chasing creatures in her dreams. You freeze where you stand, unsure of what to do now that you know what happened wasn't a dream. "Wait. She was a bitch to me earlier...but I let her stay. What the fuck is wrong with me?" You try to remember your reasoning behind doing so, praying to God that this wasn't some sort of kink that you weren't aware of until now, but dismissed the though almost as quickly as it popped up. You come to a final conclusion, knowing that following through could lead to the possibility of her harming you, but you don't care, because it has to be done. And, you're just cool like that. You take a step forward, but stop once more as you hear her coo in her sleep. The sound doesn't last long, but it was almost enough to make you change your mind about showing her who's boss. Almost. She has to learn to respect you if she wants to continue living with you, and you're prepared to use any means necessary. You still take the time to just stand and watch as her chest, or what you assumed was her chest, slowly raised and lowered itself as she slept. A small smile works its way onto your face. You change your mind about waking her up, instead walking into the kitchen, flicking on the lights as you opened the fridge. Your eyes grazed over the small stock you had, making a mental list of what you needed to get the next time you went out. "What to do, what to do..." You spot the half-empty carton of eggs, the nearly-full gallon of milk, and the butter, and decide on just making eggs and a glass of milk. You know it's lame, but you've gotta get used to bland meals like this until you find a source of income. You grab a small, rounded pan out of one of the cabinets under where the microwave sat, put it down onto the front left burner of the stove, place a small amount of butter down onto the center, turn up the heat, and begin the cooking process. You tilt the pan around after moment, making sure that you spread the butter across the entire surface. You place the pan back down, moving onto the eggs. You grab two out of the carton, bringing your total down to four, and crack them on the edge of the counter. You split both of them, breaking the yolk on the first one, and lthe second one splashes just a little bit out of the pan. Mentally scolding yourself for your sloppiness, you continue the process. You turn your attention towards Chrysalis as the eggs begin to crackle in the pan, and you watch her ear twitch. Your attention turns back to the eggs, and you expertly flip both of them over, revealing one side to be cooked, as evidenced by the hints of brown mixed in with the regular white and yellow. A minute later, you flip the eggs back over, seeing that the other side is now cooked, and allowing the first side to cook for just a bit longer. Moments later, finally satisfied with your work, you turn off the burner and walk towards the pantry, grabbing yourself a paper plate and a plastic fork. You slide the eggs out of the pan, then place it into your sink, giving it a quick rinse before walking away. You pull out a glass and pour yourself some milk. You stand at the edge of the island in the kitchen, cutting your eggs up with the fork before eating. You take a swig of the milk, then look back over at Chrysalis. She has the same steady breathing pattern as before, but you notice her nose begin to twitch. Not knowing much about animals, or whatever she wanted to be called, you payed no mind to it, but watched as her eyes slowly opened themselves, stopping when theywere half-lidded. She opened her mouth and let out what you assumed to be a yawn, but came out more as a short, high-pitched squeak. She smacked her lips, running over them both with her tounge, and then focused her eyes on you. You stared back, not sure what she was planning on doing. Her horn suddenly became encased in a dark-green glow, and you saw your eggs float off the plate towards her. You remembered your plan, and smacked the eggs to the ground. The green glow instantly left from around her horn, and her eyes opened all the way, though she didn't get up from her spot on the small couch. She glared at you, and you stared back, intending on standing your ground if she tried anything. "You're going to ask for things if you want them. You will not just take them. Understood?", you say. She turns her head from you and heaves a sigh, laying her head back down on her front legs. She goes back to staring at you as you stand up, preparing to make yourself two more eggs, not being able to take more than a bite of your first two. As you turn the burner back on, you look over at her, holding two eggs next to your head, and ask, "Would you like some eggs?" She doesn't say anything, and just continues to stare at you with a mixture of anger and boredom. You turn back to the stove and repeat the process of cooking, then sit back down at the edge of the island. You begin to eat, keeping an eye on Chrysalis, making sure she doesn't do anything. You finish your eggs and take a seat on the floor infront of Chrysalis. "So, not talking now?" She turns her face away from you. "Uh-huh. No insults?" She remains silent, face still turned away, and you hear a grumble come from her abdomen. You look up at her face, but she continues to look away from you. You feel something inside you, and you stand up, walking back into the kitchen. You grab out the things you need for eggs for the third time and ask once more, "Would you like some eggs, Chrysalis?" All you get is a grumble. You begin to cook your last two eggs. Minutes later, the job is done, and you set out the eggs on a plate and a glass of milk on the island. "Whether you ask me for them or not, you're getting them." She finally looks at you, eyes half-lidded, a small smile on her face. Her lips move slightly, and you swear you hear a "Thank you", but you can't be sure, so you brush it off. You get back on to the ground, and watch as the dark-green glow encompases her horn again, and the eggs and milk levitate towards her. She extends her neck a bit, leaning down and giving the eggs a sniff before lightly nibbling on one. Her eyes grow wide, and she goes back in for more. She eats rather sloppily, bits of egg flying both on to the loveseat and the floor. You watch in wonder as she eats, eyeing the fangs that sit at the front of her mouth. You don't know why you find it so interesting, but you find yourself unable to do anything else but watch. She finishes, moving on to the milk, tipping the glass up against her lips, and as the liquid drains, you catch a glimpse of her forked tounge trying to remove all the liquid from the cup. You stand up as she finishes up, placing the cup on the floor next to the plate. You pick the two items up, putting the glass in the sink and the plate in the small, white trashcan. You grab a paper towel from the roll and walk over to pick up the egg from the floor. A burp escapes her mouth as you clean, and you look over to see her cover her mouth and blush as she notices you staring. You smile and finish the job at hand. You place the eggs in the trash, and, once again, sit back down on the ground, hopefully for the last time for a while. You open your mouth to say something, but before you can, you hear Chrysalis faintly say, "Thank you." Almost instantly, you say, "What?" She looks back, and, just a bit louder, repeats herself. You nod, deciding not to question her further. You say what you were planning on saying earlier. "Now, Chrysalis, I need to talk to you about something serious. Are you listening?" She nods slowly, then returns to looking directly at you. "Good. Chrysalis, I want you to know that what you did earlier was unacceptable. I don't know if that's how you acted to people back in Equestria, but that is not how we treat people here. Understood?" She nods, remaining silent as you continue. "Alright. Now, if you want to continue living here, there can be no more of that. I'm also gonna be showing you the proper way to do other things in this world. Understand?" She nods for a third time. "Good. Now, do you have anything to say for yourself?" She doesn't do anything, and just stares at you. You shrug your shoulders, assuming that Chrysalis will just understand apologizing later on. The two of you sit in silence, staring at each other. Though the lights in the kitchen are on, you can still see a faint glow coming from Chrysalis' eyes. You try to keep your eyes trained on hers, while, at the same time, trying to observe her other features. Granted, it would be much easier to just ask to look at her, but you figure that she'd take the question the wrong way and accuse you of being a pervert. You try to trace up her long, jagged horn without having her notice, and it appears to have worked. You move on to her front legs next, looking at the holes, able to see the red fabric of the couch through them. Chrysalis clears her throat, and you, startled, lose your balance for a second. "Observing the Queen, are we?", she says, hints of suprise and mockery in her voice. You feel heat flood your cheeks and your pulse quicken as you stutter out your response. "Uh....n-no, I was-wasn't....checking you....out...." You want to curl up into a ball and disappear as you feel her gaze still locked on you. Finally, after a very long and awkward minute of silence, she says, "You could have just asked." You give yourself a mental facepalm at her response, and you hear her chuckle a bit as you turn back to her. The awkwardness is still heavy in the air as the room fall silent once more. After a moment, you manage to squeak out, "So, wanna learn stuff?" She giggles softly, saying, "Sure". You watch as she slinks off of the couch, arching her back as she stretched. She then continues to stretch, first pushing herself forward, supporting her weight on her front legs, then throwing her rump in the air and supporting her weight with her hind legs. "Like a dog...", you think to yourself. She turns towards you and says, "Alright, what first?"                                                                   *** Minutes later, you are squeezed next to Chrysalis on the loveseat, a copy of the novelization of "Indiana Jones & The Raiders of the Lost Ark" firmly held inbetween your hands. "You know, I thought this was a good idea." Chrysalis turns her head slightly, looking at you out of the corner of her eye. She says, "Yes, and?" "And I was dead wrong. I'll sit on the floor." You begin to stand up, but Chrysalis reaches a hoof across your chest and stops you. You look up at her, then almost immedeatly look down as you hear a faint 'squelch'. You find that it's coming from the holes in Chrysalis' hoof, each one contracting slightly, as if they were trying to grip something that wasn't there. "No, please. I'll sit on the floor", she says. "Are you sure? I could just-" She lightly taps the holey hoof on your chest, and you look over to see her smiling. "I insist." "Alright, I guess." Seeing that there's no point in arguing with her, you scooch over just a little to allow her enough space to squeeze out from between you and the armrest, and she situates herself on the ground, her back legs curled up next to her, and her front legs sticking straight out. You look over her form, wondering if it hurts to sit like that, but remember that dogs do it all the time, so if it doesn't hurt them, it probably wouldn't hurt her. You quickly think of something to say to lead in to the book in your hand. "Mention Daring Do, they love her in their world, and she's just like Indy! Wait...she doesn't know that she's a character in a cartoon about her world. Damnit." Your mind blurts out the next thing that pops into your head. "Do you know how to read?" She stares at you. "Yes?", she says, unsure of how to interpret the question. "Wait! I mean, not that you couldn't read, it's just...you know, this is a book, and...books..." Chrysalis stares at you more. You hold out the book infront of yourself, head hanging low, not even looking her in the eyes and say, "Here. Just take this." The green glow around her horn appears again, and the book floats towards her. It hovers infront of face for a moment, and you see here eyes moving from left to right as she reads. The glow disappears and the book drops. "Interesting. This "Indiana Jones" character sounds alot like Daring Do." You look at her, faking interest in her observation, asking, "Daring Do? Who's that?" Chrysalis clears her throat, and begins. "Daring Do is a fictional character from my world, and she goes on adventures, much like your "Indiana Jones"." "Oh." Silence falls over the room once more as you two sit there. You lean over and pick up the book, your hand lightly grazing over her hoof. It was unlike anything you've ever felt before. It looked almost like latex, but when touched, it was incredibly soft and smooth. You wonder how something like this could be possible, but remind yourself that she's from a cartoon. "Well, you've seen a book. Now what do you wanna see?", you ask half-assedly. "I'm not certain", she replies, rubbing her chin with a hoof, eyes pointed down at the floor. You sit and wait for an answer. After a minute, she doesn't reply, and you look up down to see her still in thought. Suprised that it would take someone this long to think of anything, you try to find another way to entertain yourself while you wait. Your eyes drift over to her form once again. You sit and stare for a moment, then mentally slap yourself for what you're about to do. You told yourself that you'd stop staring affer she caught you the first time just a few minutes ago, but you find that wenever she's not looking, you try to see more of her. You don't know what it is about her, but you just find her figure...appealing. It could be the little crown-like thing next to her horn, it could be the holes in her legs, but you just don't know. You begin at the top of her body. You've already eyed her horn more than enough times to know what it looks like, and her hair is nothing special, other than its color, but her being from a show, you'd expect that. You move down to her wings, which are joined to the body either at the shoulder blade, or are fused to the shoulder blade itself. You decide you'll just ask her later. Thinking back, you realize you havn't really seen her wings extended, but you think that that's because there would be no use for them here. First, there wouldn't be anywhere to go, since all the rooms were right next to each other. Second, if she did get off the ground, there'd only be about an extra foot or so before she hit the roof. Next, you spy a green thing around her abdomen. You have no idea what it is, nor what purpose it serves. You brush it off and move lower. You have your eyes on her flank when you hear "Ahem". Your eyes snap back to Chrysalis, who looks less than amused. "My eyes are over here", she says, clearly frustrateed that you were eyeballing her. "What do you mean? I can't look at my own apartment?", you try to argue. She caught you red-handed though, saying, "I've been watching you for the past minute. You know what you were doing, I know what you were doing. Your Queen is not amused." You think of retalliating, but she's giving you a look, so you just stare at your folded-up hands. She takes a deep breath, closing her eyes as she does so, then exhales, opening them back up shortly after. Having calmed herself down a bit, she says, "I would like to learn about this...thing." She motions behind herself with her head, pointing at the television set with her horn. You get up and walk over to it, pushing the "Power" switch on the side. You snatch the remote up off the T.V. stand as Chrysalis rotates her body to face you and the screen. "So, Chrysalis, do you know what this is?" She shakes her head. "Right. From what little I've heard about Equestria from you, I'd assume you guys don't have T.V's." She cocks her head slightly to the left, and repeats, "Tee...vee?" "Correct. "T.V." stands for "television", which is what this is", you motion to the screen beside you. You look down at the remote, thinking about what to do next. "What can this "television" do?", she asks. "Well, I'll show you." You walk back over to the loveseat, remote in hand. You sit down, and Chrysalis' eyes remain locked on the screen, a re-run of an old "Spongebob Squarepants" cartoon playing. You watch as The Krusty Krab is filled with anchovies, then Spongebob flies in with his spatula, and begins making Krabby Patties at incredible speeds. You hear Chrysalis let out a laugh as the montage of the yellow sponge preparing the burgers continues. A few minutes later, the episode ends, and Chrysalis turns to look back at you, a tear in her eye. "That was one of the funniest things I have ever seen! Nothing in Equestria could ever compare to that!" She wipes the tear from her eye, and you smirk, saying, "Well, this is just the tip of the iceberg." She smiles and turns right back around to watch the screen flicker between shows. "Adventure Time", "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives", Project Runway", and "Tosh.O" all flash by as you get higher and higher on the channels list. You reach the HUB Network, then the unthinkable happens. My Little Pony, My Little Pony, Ahahahahahh~ You watch as Chrysalis tilts her head to the side as the opening credits roll on. She turns back to you. "What...what is this?" You gulp, body shaking, and say, "A...a show." You watch her bare her teeth, her cheerful attitude from moments ago replaced with that of anger. "Do not lie to your Queen. How are you able to see that wretched Twilight Sparkle and her friends on this "television"?" Your eyes dart back and forth, looking around the room for something, anything that could give you an answer. "Uh...it's a...it's a portal." "A portal?" "Yes, she's buying it." "Yes. It allows you to, uh...see what your enemies are doing." She contemplates this for a moment, before saying, "I see..." She turns back to the screen in time to see Rainbow Dash giving a speech about having enough wingpower to get water to Cloudsdale. Finally, after minutes of making sure she didn't suspect anything, the commercials start, and she turns back to you. "This may prove useful in the future. Thank you for showing me." She turns back to the T.V. as you change the channel, wiping your forehead. "Holy shit, that was close. Too close..." You pull your iPhone out of your pocket and check the time. 10:13 P.M. You lean back, stretching your arms and legs to their fullest, letting out a yawn as you do so. You stand up, but Chrysalis doesn't seem to notice, as she is currently transfixed on an episode of "Friends". You walk over to the closet in the guest bedroom, opening it up and grabbing two blankets and a pillow. You walk back out to the living room. "Alright. Where do you want to sleep?" She pays you no mind as she continues to stare at the screen infront of her. You try again, but with the same results. Finally, you grab the remote off of the loveseat's armrest, turning the television off. "Hey!", she yells. "I just want to ask you one question. Then, you're free to watch as much T.V. as you like. Deal?" She contemplates her choices, and finally nods. You don't like that you had to bargain with her for simple stuff like that, but you had to do what you had to do. "Alright. Where would you like to sleep? We've got a guest room, which has a bed, the couch, the floor, just pick one." "Does the guest room have a T.V.?" You shake your head. "Oh, I'll just sleep here then." You nod, turning the television back on and placing the remote next to her, making sure she saw where it was. You place the pillow down on one side of the couch, and place the blankets over her body. She looks back at you suspiciously. "Hey, it's supposed to be cold tonight. Just trying to help." She stares at you for a few more seconds, then turns back to the television screen. You shrug it off and turn towards your room. You're just about to close the door when you hear Chrysalis call out your name. You poke your head back outside. "Yes?" "I just wanted to say..." You listen, no idea what she's about to say. Insults? Thanks? Does she need help? What she actually says suprises you. "I'm sorry." You stand there, shocked. Instantly, your mind jumps to, "Don't worry about it." You see her turn back to the screen, and you close the door behind you, now unsure of what she could possibly do next. Just this morning, she was being a total bitch, and now, she just apologized. You strip down to your boxers, slipping yourself underneath the covers on your bed, listening to the faint sounds of Matthew Perry, Jennifer Aniston, and Chrysalis' laughter. "Why the sudden change in attitude?", you wonder. You think about it for a moment, then your eyes close, and a final thought passes through your head. "Who cares?" You drift asleep as Chrysalis laughs from out in living room. //-------------------------------------------------------// Part I, Chapter IV - New Day, New Beginnings //-------------------------------------------------------// Part I, Chapter V - Loving and Losing Your slumber ended abruptly the next morning, your alarm going off at 7AM. You reach your hand over, slamming down on the "off" button, and roll back over in your bed. You make a mental note never to set it again as you try to fall back asleep. You almost succeed in your endeavor. A hot breath hits you in the face, and you open your eyes to find Chrysalis next to you. Since her arrival yesterday, you had never found yourself this close to her, and took time in observing her facial features. You start at the top of her head and work your way down. Her jagged horn still hadn't changed, so you let your eyes drift lower. You notice three little blue bulbs attached to three black stalks. It takes you a moment to figure out what it's supposed to be, but you assume it to be a little tiara. "Cute..." You move lower, tracing her jawline with your eyes, ending down at her mouth. You stare for a moment, watching her nose twitch randomly. You smile to yourself, but your moment of peace ends when you realize that this was not right of her. "If she wants to get in bed, she has to ask me. She can not just get in whenever she likes, especially if I'm still in it." You hate yourself for having to wake her up, but you know that you have to teach her manners. You poke her cheek once, and her head shook. You poke her cheek again, and are met with the same response. You continue to poke her for a few more seconds, and her eyes slowly open. She stares at you. You stare back at her. She smiles weakly and says, "I was cold." You continue to stare her down, and she laughs, gently prodding you with a holed hoof. "Relax. I wasn't trying to do anything." You shrug and sit yourself up on the mattress, pushing the covers off your chest, and unintentionally lift the covers up off of Chrysalis. You twist yourself out of bed, stretching when your feet hit the ground. You scratch your back, turning back towards Chrysalis. She gets up on all fours, arching her back to stretch. Her wings shoot out from the side ofher body, and she hovers over the bed before moving herself to touch down on the floor. As soon as she hits, however, her legs buckle underneath her, and you rush over to her side. "Chrysalis! Are you alright?", you ask, panic in your voice. "Alright? T'was just a fall! It'll take more than that to keep the Queen down!" She picks herself back up, beginning the walk towards the door. Although she said she was fine, you can't help but notice how every step she takes looks like a challenge, but you brush it off. Besides, if anybody knew about what was going on with her body, it'd be her. You look inside your drawer, pulling out a shurt, a pair of pants, and a pair of boxers, exiting the door right after she did, the two of you parting when she takes a left to the loveseat, and you take a right to the bathroom. You drop your clothes in the sink, and walk the short distance to the shower. You pull the white curtain aside, twisting the knob inside, staring up the water, then fine-tuning the temperature of the water. While you wait for it to warm up, you strip naked, and by the time you're done, the water is just right, and you step in. You grab the small blue bottle of shampoo, squirting some into the palm of your hand, giving your hands a quick rub together, and begin to run your fingers through your hair. You almost seem to lose yourself in the feeling, massaging your scalp slowly as the warm water cascaded down onto your body. Your moment of peace didn't last long, however. You hear the door creak open, and then Chrysalis' voice softly saying your name. "I'm kinda busy right now", you reply, now trying to finish the shower as quickly as possible. You hear the door close, and go back to trying to finish. Chrysalis' pops her head through the curtain. "What are you doing?" "Holy shit!", you yell out, hands scrambling to cover up your private parts from her view. "Get the fuck outta here!" Her head quickly pulls away from the curtain, and you hear a soft mixture of 'clop' and 'squish' as she runs away, and then you hear the door slam. You release your hands from over your crotch, letting them go prone at your side, and exhale loudly. You rinse out the rest of the shampoo from your hair slowly as you try to calm down after the shock from just a moment ago. Finally, you finish, and you turn the water off before stepping out into the steamy room. You hit the exhaust switch as you grab your towel and begin drying off. You thoroughly rustle your hair, making it friz out at all angles. After deeming yourself dry enough, you drop the towel to the floor and begin to put on your new set of clothes. You look at yourself in the mirror, and reach out to grab the black hairbrush next to the rim of the sink. You start to forcibly undo the knots in your hair. After a minute of rigorous brushing, you put the brush down and look at yourself in the mirror. You raise your eyebrows, giving the mirror a suprised look. You smirk, checking how it looks in the mirror, then turn and walk outside to the living room. You see Chrysalis look over at you, but she quickly looks away. You hope that she's learned her lesson, but what she says next shows you she hasn't. "It looked like a stallions, just....smaller." You are both suprised that she brought the incident back up, and hurt about the comment on your "size". You angrily stare her down for a moment, and she quickly returns to doing anything but looking at you. You smile to yourself at having won that confrontation, but it fades as the comment on your size brings itself back into the front of your mind. You try your best to shrug it off, almost succeding, and walk over to the fridge, opening it up and beginning a list in your head of what you need from the store. "Milk, eggs, plates, plastic utensils, cups, and...." Your mind drifts off as you look up from the fridge and over at Chrysalis, who is curretly busying herself with a show on the television. You call out her name, and she lets out a startled squeal, her cheeks showing off a subtle shade of red, then looks over at you, trying her best not to look at you a wrong way. "Y-yes?", she answers, stuttering. You try your best not to sound like you're trying anything, not wanting to add to the fact that she looks as if she's about to be beaten, so you very calmly say, "Relax. It's gonna be alright. I just wanted to know if you wanted anything from the store. Do you?" She doesn't take her eyes off of you, and says, "Meat. We need meat." You nod, adding yet another thing to your list. You close the fridge and begin to walk towards the door, grabbing your coat off the rack, and your keys off the small desk near the doorway. You look back to her as you pull your coat over your arms and onto your body, watching as she slowly slinks off the couch. She looks over at you, eyes half open. "Do you mind if I grab something to eat?" You shake your head, saying, "Be my guest." She puts a small smile on her face and continues to walk towards the pantry. Her front legs cross each other, and she stumbles, falling to the floor. You hear a shriek, and you run over to her side. You lift her up, making sure she can stand on all fours before backing off, checking her body for any other injuries. You come across her face to see a tear rolling down her cheek, and an inch-long gash underneath her right eye. The tear mixes with a drop of blood, and you watch the substance fall and hit the carpeted floor. You guide Chrysalis back to the couch, her legs acting as if they were purposely trying to trip her. She settles back down onto the seat. "Are you alright? Can I get you anything?" The Queen weakly smiles, saying, "Nay, I am fine. Nothing is required. Just hurry back; I was thinking of something we could do." You continue to look down upon her, smiling at how she wont even admit a fall hurt her. You turn and walk back to the door. You look back one last time to see her nestling her head down on to her front legs, a look of contempt on her face. You chuckle and walk out the door, closing and locking it before you began the walk downstairs. You finally reach ground level, and walk to your car. You unlock the door, sitting down and starting up the engine, pulling out of your space, and beginning the trip to the store. ***** You pull into the parking lot for Target some time later. You sit in the car for a minute, mentally prepping yourself. This wasn't just any Target, this was your Target. You kill the engine and step out and into the cold. You shove your hands down in your pockets, continue to look down at the ground, and walk in. The automatic door slides itself open, and you enter the store itself shortly after. You look around, not expecting anyhting to have changed since yesterday, but still intrigued by all of the colorful graphics hanging from the ceiling. "Maybe it's because I don't work here anymore." You continue walking, and have to stop yourself from running into somebody, mentally reprimanding yourself for getting distracted by posters. You look back at the man, one of the shoulders on his brown coat hanging off of his body. "Sorry about that, man", you say, freezing in place as the man turns around. It's your boss. Or, the guy that used to be your boss. He sees you, and his eyes go wide, seeming to turn into little black beads as his face turns a dark shade of red. "Who the fuck do you think you are?!", he yells, forcing you to step back. "You think you can just not show up for your job, and then just assume you can waltz back into my store?! I got something for you, buddy; you're fired! How does that make you feel? Try finding another job within one-hundred miles that'll accept a klutz like you! One more thing..." His words slowly fade away as you ball your fists, thinking of the perfect way to retalliate. Your ex-boss continues to yell, and you change your mind entirely, suiting for something much more appropriate. Your former employer is still yelling at you, causing other shoppers, and some oher employees, to stare, and you decide you've had enough. "Fuck you, you stupid cunt!", you yell, causing him to stop and look at you, looking as if his head is about to explode. You turn your attention to the employees, the ones that had messed with you since you first took the job. You fingers at them as you scream, "Fuck you! Fuck you! Especially you! Fuck all of you!" You turn away from the shocked faces of the store's patrons, the mothers with their children's ears covered, the dudes with the shaggy hair cheering you on, all of them, and walk out of the store, holding up both of your middle-fingers in the air as you do so. You reach your car back out in the parking lot, and as you pull out of the space, you mutter under your breath, "I'm the best." ***** You pull back into your designated space infront of the section of building that houses your apartment. You make sure it's locked, and moments later, begin to ascend the three flights of stairs. You huff as you hop over the final step at the very top, and then take a right to your door, smiling at how childish the stair-jumping was, and how much you enjoyed it. You fumble around with the key for a moment, straining to hear what's going on on the other side of the door, but your heart stops when your ears are greeted with the sickening sound of silence. Not just silence, though; absolute silence. You keep calm as you slide the key into the slot, twisting the knob slowly, praying for reality to be nothing like what you're mind is thinking. You swing the door wide, and find that you were as far from wrong as one could ever possibly get. Chrysalis is laying down on the carpet, all four of her holey legs tucked underneath her. She's just staring at you. You sniff once, and your nose is met with an unfamiliar yet odlly alluring odor. You return Chrysalis' stare, and the two of you just stand there, seemingly staring into one another's souls. Chrysalis calls out your name, moaning slightly after letting the last part roll off her tounge. You are transfixed as you watch her re-positions herself, now laying on her side. You take a step forward. She moans ou your name again, dragging out the last half, and you take another step forward. Moments later, you stand above Chrysalis, staring down at her as she looks up you, giving you puppy-dog eyes and a pouty lip, as if she were silently asking for something. You lean down and give her your un-spoken answer, giving her a peck on the cheek. While your body may seem to enjoy the event, your mind does not. "What the hell am I doing?! Why the hell is this happening!" Your lips trace a line down to the corner of Chrysalis' mouth, and she forms a smile. You trace down along the rest of her lips, allowing yourself to stop at the front of her jaw, where she uses a thin, forked tongue to slowly part your lips. The feeling of something of that size inside your mouth, working around all on its own is strange, but you quickly settle into it as you try to push your tounge into her moth. The feeling isn't that far off from kissing another person, and that's just fine with you. It feels as if you aren't in control of your own body, as your hand begins to travel down Chrysalis' underbelly, sending shivers throughout her body as your fingers lightly tickle her. You look down, noticing a small mound near her hind legs, and how close your hand is to it. "No! I don't want to ruin this!" Your hand jerks back towards your own body, and you pull away from Chrysalis' lips, suddenly feeling in control again. She looks at you pleadingly, but before you can say anything about what just happened between you two, her eyes almost entirely roll into the back of her head, and her body goes limp, making her head fall the short distance back down to the ground. You quickly panic, cupping your hands underneath her head, and lifting it back up, allowing blood to flow back down to her body. Remembering the lesson from "Health" all those years ago, you gently put her head down and move to lift up her lower body, now trying to allow blood to flow back to her brain. You continue this for several minutes, and you finally start to notice her coming back, so you drop her lower body, now trying to pick up her entire figure. You strain for a moment, but you finally succed in getting her on to your back. You take a terrible form as you walk the few feet to your bedroom, where you lay her down on your bed, making sure she has a pillow underneath her head, and a blanket over her body. ***** You look up from the wall as Chrysalis lets out an lmost ghostly moan. She slowly opens her eyes, but almost immediately closes them again. "Could you....could you turn off the...the light?", she says weakly. You nod, quickly getting up, flicking the switch, and shrouding the room in darkness. You notice a faint green glow coming from where Chrysalis was, so you assume her eyes are now open. "Thank you..." "Don't worry about it." The room goes quiet for a moment, and you contemplate what to say next. "Should I bring up us almost...." She interrupts your thought, and says, "About earlier, and how we-" You lift a finger, trying to find her lips so that you can shush her, but instead poke your finger through a leg hole. It lightly closes around your finger, and you quickly pull out. "Listen, we don't have to-" This time it is she who interrupts you. "No. We need to talk about this. As you know, I am a Changeling." She stops, presumably waiting for you to nod, but seeing as to how that's pointless in the dark, you say, "Yes, and?" "And as a Changeling, I can assume another beings form. Do you know why?" You ask, "Why?", Chrysalis now having your full attention. "We consume love. We take the form of somepony, then go back to their loved ones, and we begin feeding off of their feelings for those that we have asumed the role of." You find yourself extremely intrigued at the idea of this, and have many questions to ask, but only one comes to your mind. "Why'd you try that out there with me?" "Since I have arrived, I have been growing weaker and weaker. It was only a matter of time before my instincts kicked in, and I'd have to find something to feed off of." You seem hurt that you were mentioned only as a "something", but brush it off and aske her to continue. "Having just met you, I had no time to figure out what you loved, so I went to my back-up plan: Seduction." "So, what was that smell?" "A pheromone that a Changeing can produce, rendering the being unfortunate enough to catch a whiff of it the equilavent of the user's puppet. Although the one under the effects of the pheremone has the ability to think for itself, it cannot control it's body." The realization that Chrysalis practically tried to rape you disgusts you, but you continue to ask and listen. "Why me?" "You are the only one that knows of my existence in this world." You want to ask more, but think of something instead. "So, wait. You were going to rape me, consume my love, then just continue with that routine every day?" "Yes, exactly." Rage swells up inside of you at her admittance of her plan, but it quickly subsides when you realize she can't finish it now. You think about what you were told of the pheromone, and then ask, "So, if this pheremone controls one's mind, then why was I able to beat it?" "That is something that I don't have an answer to. Perhaps I was just so weak that I couldn't produce enough." You nod in the dark, knowing that she couldn't see you, and you stand up. "Alright, I've heard enough. I'm not saying what you did was good, but it was survival, and I understand. Did...the kisses...from earlier help at all?" You hear rustling, and then an affirming, "Yes, very much. I couldn't figure out who all that love was intended for, but it was strong, that's for sure." You nod your head, once again knowing she still couldn't see you. You walk over to the other side of the bed, feeling along the edge of the mattress as a guide, and stop when you reach your side. You slide your pants off, letting them drop to the floor, and step out of them, then taking your shirt off, leaving yourself in just boxers. You climb into bed and pull the covers up over yourself. You still don't have the light on, so you roll over to face where Chrysalis' body was, and you say, "Alright. I'm going to bed. Since you hurt yourself today, you can sleep in my bed. Tonight only, though. Understand?" "Yes, I understand." You smile to yourself. "Goodnight." You rest your head back on to the pillows, and hear a soft rustling, most likely Chrysalis making herself comfortable. You close your eyes, and prepare yourself for sleep, when there's a light peck on your cheek. Heat floods your face, and you look over to see two faint green orbs staring back at you. "Thank you for understanding." She turns away, and you just lay there, staring at where her eyes just were, suprised by what just happened. The heat slowly drains from your face, and you close your eyes, once again ready to drift off, the sensation of Chrysalis' lips lingering on your cheek. You fall asleep, Chrysalis at your side, and a smile on your face. //-------------------------------------------------------// Part I, Chapter V - Regrouping //-------------------------------------------------------// Part I, Chapter VI - The Room You awoke early the next morning. Opening your bleary eyes, you notice the sky was still dark, with hints of the sun’s rays just beginning to shine through the sunrise. Sitting up, you pinch the bridge of your nose tiredly before taking a look at the clock on your nightstand. 6:30 A.M. "Damn..." You turn your attention to the creature to your left. Chrysalis is sleeping peacefully, her chest rising and lowering steadily as she dreams. Noticing her ear flop, you find yourself intrigued watching the small, black appendage repeat this two more times before looking back out the window. Although you can't see the sunrise because of where your apartment was located, you could still see the way it affected everything around you. Scratching your back lazily, you continue to watch as the sun begins to reflect its warm rays over the large glass buildings downtown, spreading its warm, orange glow everywhere as it continued its ascension. You consider waking Chrysalis so that she can bask in the beauty of this everyday occurrence, but are stopped mid-thought by a hoof touching your left thigh. Glancing at holed-hoof, your eyes trace upwards until you look directly into Chrysalis’ half-lidded green eyes. Your mind flashes back to last night, and how Chrysalis needs love in order to survive. Looking away from her, you glance back towards the sunrise, just barely feeling its warm rays on your face before focusing on her again. You've made up your mind on how you want to handle the situation. It's not like you'd actually get attached to a cartoon character, right? Inwardly, you laugh at your own joke, and prepare yourself for the first part on your multi-phase plan. "Well, now's as good a time as any." You turn around to face her, leaning against the backboard of your bed, gazing softly at her; watching with a small smile as she slowly crawls up your torso. Her hooves brush along you softly, so softly you have to focus to be sure that she’s feeling you up. She whips her head lightly to one side, allowing her silky mane to glide gracefully over her withers and let it settle on her left side. Subconsciously, you lick your lips, your heart beating just a bit faster as she gets ever so closer to you. Resting her lithe frame against your chest and torso, she breathes out a cute sigh, almost cooing from the warm of your skin and pajamas. Reaching out, you caress her neck with one hand, feeling the soft dark skin; sometimes running your fingers through her mane. A purr reaches your ears and your smile becomes just a tinge wider as you softly rub her cheek, watching as she leans into your touch like a kitten. Slowly, the distance between you two is eliminated as your lips meet together in a soft embrace. Her eyes close gently and you can’t help but look at her as you two kiss gently, watching her features soften up as the bliss of your passion seems to flow through her. Chrysalis sighs in contentment, her body further relaxing against you as she gave herself to you in the heat you two are sharing. Pushing your lips against her with more pressure, you feel the purring in her chest vibrate lightly against yours, relaxing you further if such a feat were possible. Opening your eyes again, you find yourself staring into deep green eyes, feeling her push back against your kissing, trying to match you and make even ground. Her hooves wrap around your neck a bit tighter as she slowly licks your lips, begging for entrance. You concede with a light groan, feeling her tongue gently caress your teeth and molars with a delicacy you had never before seen in her. Chrysalis presses herself onto you with a bit more force, leaving you breathless as you try to push your tongue into her mouth. She smirks and playfully wraps her longer tongue around yours, suckling on it gently; causing you to moan softly. Your hand stops rubbing her neck, dipping lower and squeezing her thigh firmly. Chrysalis moans loudly from your touch, her cheeks flushing and giving you the perfect opportunity for revenge as you force your tongue into her mouth, her body shivering slightly; back arching in pleasure. Carefully, you run your tongue along her fangs, feeling her squirm slightly and moan. “Never thought that her licking her fangs would be a turn on for her." Slowly, you brush your tongue along the inside of her mouth, quivering in ecstasy from the way her sharp teeth felt against your tender muscle. She squeaks cutely as she slowly rubs her body against yours, making you gasp and groan at the tightness in your pants. Pulling back, a thin bridge of saliva forms between your lips. Panting, you lean back on the backboard, your hair sticking to your forehead. She leans in and kisses you one final time on the lips, licking them slowly as she took care of the saliva. You blush as she licks her lips, panting just as much as you are. You gaze at her softly, rubbing her neck softly as your body tingles from the pleasure. “Was…that…good enough?” She grins goofily. “That was…so…good!~” she moans out, nuzzling your neck. You chuckle and rub her back. “Good….I’m glad you…enjoyed it.” She merely breathes softly onto your neck, kissing and nibbling on the tender flesh as her breathing eventually evens out. “Mmmmm~” She moans against your neck, pulling back and settling into your hold. Shaking your head, you chuckle at her antics, breathing slowly as you relax, the room bathed in a soft orange glow; a comfortable silence filling the room. "So", Chrysalis' voice cuts through the silence like a knife. "What time is it?" You glance at the clock and your eyes almost widen. "Almost seven in the morning." "Cool." She stretches out underneath the covers, simply extending her legs out from her body, and she gently brushes against you as she does this. She doesn't seem to notice, but you perk up almost instantly. A question pops into your head. "So, now that I have no job, what do you wanna do?" She pauses, rubbing a hoof underneath her chin, clenching her eyelids shut. After a moment, they slowly open, stopping halfway. She turns and looks at you, twisting her body, and supporting her head with a hoof. "I have a few ideas...” she says seductively, a devious smile crossing her lips. Your mouth hangs open as you realize what she's talking about, but it quickly closes, and you watch as she brings up her other hoof to cover her muzzle as she giggles. Seeing that it was just a joke, you feel your cheeks heat up ever so slightly. "Not funny", you grumble as her laughter comes to a stop. "Fine! Maybe it was, but the look on your face was just priceless!” she almost laughs out, smiling at you, but stops, noticing your grumpy expression. You glare at her for a moment, and then smile yourself, thinking that you had maybe overdone it. "You know", she says, looking down at the mattress. "Most stallions would kill to bed the Queen." You think about what to say, your mouth instantly spewing out, "Well, I'm not 'most stallions'." "No shit, Sherlock!" She looks up at you pleadingly, and you know what she wants, but you just can't bring yourself to give it to her. She's a cartoon character, dammit. You change the subject, trying your best not to give in to her puppy-dog eyes. Or, her...insect...bug-thing eyes. You snap your attention back to the task of changing the subject. "How about I show you some more human stuff?” you suggest, praying for a change in the way she looked now. It worked. Her ears perk up, now standing proudly at attention, and she shook her head vigorously, showing that she accepted your offer. You smile, twisting yourself out of bed, pulling on the pair of jeans from last night. Deciding that you're already wearing half of a dirty outfit, you might as well go all the way, and you pick up the shirt from last night too. Quickly pulling it over your body as you hear Chrysalis touch down on the ground. You turn to see her stretching out, and allow yourself to do the same. The both of you, now fully stretched, stand in silence for a moment, waiting for you to give the go-sign. "Alright, come on", you say, walking out the door, waving your hand, motioning for her to follow. *** The scene flashes forward about thirty minutes, and you open up the lid of the trash can, letting the plate slide out of your hand, watching as it hits the bottom of the bag. "You finished?” you ask, looking up to see Chrysalis' plate, surrounded by a green glow, floating towards you. You snatch it out of the air, slamming it down into the can as if you were a football player that scored the final touchdown of the game. You pump your fist, closing the lid, and begin walking back towards Chrysalis, who is in her usual spot up on the loveseat. You take your spot on the floor and look up at her. "Alright...what do you wanna see?" She looks around the room for a moment, squinting her eyes at random objects, then finally locking her sights on a door to the left of the bathroom door. You follow her gaze, and gulp when you reach its final destination. "T-there?" She nods, and you look back at the door. You slowly stand up, regretting giving her permission to see anything she wanted. "What's the matter? Dark secret?” she says jokingly. You remain silent. "Well, there's only one thing to do now." You look at her, and quickly begin to panic as she floats up off the couch, her insect-like wings buzzing as she hovered over to the door. You consider tackling her as she buzzed by, but thought better of it, instead allowing her to get closer and closer to opening the door. She reached it, and with a nervous look on her own face, her horn and the doorknob both began to glow a shade of green. You hear the doorknob twisting, and clench your eyes shut as the door swings open, expecting a shocked reaction to come from her. However, after minutes of waiting, nothing happened. You open your eyes and look at where she was standing just a moment ago, the door now wide open. You stand up and walk yourself slowly towards the room, worried about what she may be doing, about what she may have found. You step through the doorway to find her inspecting an acoustic guitar with a cracked face and a broken string. Her ear twists slightly in your direction, and she looks up at you, pure joy all over her face. "This is very cool! Why would you be worried about someone finding all this stuff?!" She floats over to a pile of CDs, and you look down at your feet. "This was all my college stuff. I used to be way big on all of it; playing guitar, rocking out, all of it. After I moved here, I felt more responsible, what with having to take care of myself and what not, I just moved on. All this stuff just kinda sits in here now, collecting dust, waiting for me to do something with." Chrysalis tried her best to pay attention to you, but found it extremely hard to as she looked at all the Cd cases around her. There had to be more than fifty there, but she was inspecting each one as if it were the only one. You eye the cover of the album levitating in front of her. http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mcwp12xvtP1qc87wwo1_500.jpg You chuckle to yourself, reminiscing. "That used to be one of my favorites. The lead singer's voice was a bit high-pitched at first, but I got over it as time went on." She places it down on the top of a small stack that she had started for the previously viewed CD cases. "It does look interesting, and perhaps we can listen to it later." You smile at the proposition, and make a mental note to remember that for later, thinking of the day when you can crank up the radio and take a trip down memory lane. Your mind continues to wander as you watch Chrysalis finish examining each of the CDs, and then move on to a stack of DVDs. She looks at the case of the first one at the top of the stack. You look at it, and see that it's the sixth Star Wars film, "Return of the Jedi". She sticks out her tongue at the DVD, and slides it off and on to the floor, beginning her examination of the next film. You wonder if you should try and initiate more conversation while she looks through everything, but decide against it, instead watching her as she places DVD after DVD down on top of each other. You look to your left, the acoustic guitar staring at you, almost as if it were begging to be played after such a long time. You reach out slowly, wrapping your left hand around the neck, and then pulling the stringed instrument off of its stand, bringing it closer to yourself. You reposition yourself so that you're sitting with your legs folded, and let the guitar rest in your lap. You look down at it, remembering the reason why you wanted to learn to play in the first place; the girls. Of course, by the time you were good enough to woo anyone, all the ladies had moved on to only being impressed by assholes that wore mascara and dressed like idiots. At least, that's how you saw it. You pluck the Low E string with your thumb, not just listening, but feeling as the deep hum vibrated throughout the instrument and your ears. You close your eyes and pluck it a few more times, allowing the deep vibration to almost calm you. You open your eyes, snapping out of your trance-like state, and see Chrysalis, legs folded underneath her body, and eyes focused on you and your instrument. You pluck the Low E one more time, watching as the note causes a small shiver to run down her spine. You don't know how or why she reacted that way, but you don't particularly care enough to question it, let alone give it anymore though at all. You move on to the next string. You pluck the A string, listening as the slightly higher note rings out, and create a small beat, alternating between Low E and A. You want to play the fourth string ever so badly, just to let Chrysalis hear each string, but find yourself unable to, as it is the broken string. You move up to G string, then quickly move up to B string, and finally to High E, accepting the change from high to low. Chrysalis is still fixated with you and the guitar, and you begin to play her a little tune. "Ode to Joy", or, a simplified version. She can't tell the difference though, and is still enthralled with the performance. She changes position, allowing the front half of her body to point forward, and the back half to twist to the side. You hit the final note in the song, and she claps her two hooves together. "Clopping?", you question yourself as she slowly comes to a stop. "That was absolutely wonderful. Can you play anything else?" Chrysalis asks, genuine curiosity present in both her voice and the way she stares at you. You simply nod, positioning your hands to play her another piece. You begin "When the Saints Go Marching In", and make a mistake early on, but she doesn't seem to notice. You play the rest of the song with no mistakes, and you are once again given a round of applause from Chrysalis. "Again, wonderful. I must ask you to stop though, as I have something I'd like to discuss." You simply nod, placing the guitar back on its stand, and then propping your head up on your arm, ready for Chrysalis' questions. "Thank you." "Don't mention it." You wonder why she'd thank you for doing something she'd asked you to do, but brush it off as she begins to talk. "So", she begins, a copy of the movie "Jaws" floating up next to her head. "Is this any good?" You nod, saying, "Yes, yes it is. Very good, actually." It's her turn to nod. For the next few minutes, the two of you sit down and discuss which movies were worthwhile and which ones weren't. Your conversation finally ends, and the two of you sit in silence, two stacks of DVDs on either side of Chrysalis' body, categorized ad "Watch" and "Don't Watch". You look over, realizing that there's no television, let alone a DVD player, in the room, and you think you'd have to move this stuff out of the room, but you get an idea just before almost dismissing the thought. You stand up and walk out of the room, leaving Chrysalis alone, but return minutes later with cables in one hand, and a DVD player in the other. You set the electronic equipment down, and face Chrysalis. "I'm gonna need your help with this last part. You up for it?" She smiles and stands up, following you out of the room. You walk over to one side of the television, and Chrysalis walks over to the other. "Alright. When I say 'go', could you use some of your magic, or whatever you call it, to help me take this into there?" She nods, aiming her head down at the television set. "Go!” you practically yell out, lifting the T.V. and walking a few inches, before having the set suddenly enveloped in a green glow. You release your grip, and watch as Chrysalis turns enough o get the T.V. through the door, and then follows after it, barely using any effort. You walk in as she sets the television on the ground, and you begin to set up the wires and cables. Minutes later, you finish, and the copy of "Jaws" levitates in front of you. You open it up, popping the disk out of the holder, and then sitting it on the tray of the DVD player. You rush back over to Chrysalis, who somehow found beanbags, and you plop yourself down on the red one as the film begins. //-------------------------------------------------------// Part I, Chapter ? - Awakening (April Fool's Day) //-------------------------------------------------------// Part I, Chapter VII - Buds You lean back in your red beanbag as the film progresses. You watch with limited interest as Hooper leaps out if the boat and down into the ocean to search for evidence of the shark being around Amity. "Why the hell are we even watching "Jaws" when we could be doing something else?" you wonder to yourself as Hooper searches along the sunken ship's hull for evidence. Turning your attention towards Chrysalis, who is sitting on the edge of her seat, or at least as far as you can get to an edge on a beanbag, causes you to chuckle quietly to yourself. You keep switch your attention back and forth between the creature to your right and the television, but paying more attention to one over the other, and it definitely wasn't the movie. You manage to catch part of a scene where Hooper finds Ben Gardener's decapitated head floating freely, causing him to drop the shark tooth he found to the ocean floor. Chrysalis lets out a shriek, and before you can react, she's clutching your body tightly with her holed hooves, her jagged horn dangerously close to your face. She's shaking with fear, which is something you couldn't really understand, as that scene never seemed to affect you. You accept the fact that the Queen of an entire race of creatures that feed off of emotions was scared by a cheesy effect, and do the most calming thing you can think of as Hooper swims back up to the surface: rub Chrysalis back gently. At first it the idea felt weird to you, but the more you thought about it, the more reasonable it seemed as you ran you hand and forearm up and down her smooth back a couple of times, just assuring her that everything would be alright. You stop as she slowly relaxed in your hold, paying attention to the film again. After a few minutes, you realize that Chrysalis hasn't moved her resting head from your chest. Looking down at her, you realize that she's not paying you any mind as she is focused on the film. Clearing your throat proves fruitless as she continues to stare at the screen. "Uh...Chrysalis? You know you're still on me, right?" Without missing a beat, she replies, "You're still on me." Confused, you look to down at her, noticing that she’s clearly sitting on top of your torso.  Before you can form any sort of rebuttal, you feel something soft pressed against your right hand; only to realize that her back was resting against your hand. "See?" she says with a sly smirk. You move to pull it off, but she stops you. "You can leave it there if you'd like, I don't mind." You think for a moment, and then shrug, realizing that having your arm around someone isn’t really a big issue. The two of you sit in silence as the Orca IV begins its journey out into the blue. Chrysalis speaks again during a silent part in the film. "You can do that rubbing thing if you'd like as well. It does not bother your Queen." Your arm begins to ever so slowly work it's way up to the back if Chrysalis' neck, and then down to the green sash around her middle. You still didn't know what it was, but you continued to rub despite it. She practically melts under your touch as you continued to stroke her back, at one point feeling each of her vertebrae in one pass. You try to readjust, Chrysalis' body slowly crushing your legs, but the combined efforts of her weight and the beanbag below yourself didn't allow for any movement whatsoever. Accepting the situation, you continue to rub the Changeling Queen’s back as you slowly lose any feeling below your waist. Looking up at the screen, you watch as Quint shoots his rifle at the shark, and the near immediate explosion of flesh that followed. Chrysalis lets out a purr, but you couldn't tell if it was in response to your continued efforts to comfort her, or that the shark had finally been defeated. You think about asking her, but change your mind. She twists her head to look at you. "What next?" she asks, rubbing her eyes gently, a cute yawn pushing past her lips. "Whatever you want." You say with a relaxed smile. "I see..." She trails off, and five DVDs float over to where the two of you sit. The choices that levitated in front of you were "The Little Rascals", "Monty Python & The Holy Grail", "Napoleon Dynamite", "The Running Man, and "The Matrix". You personally wanted to see "The Matrix", as it was your favorite, but this was about her experiencing these things, not your personal preference. She inspected each one, taking a moment to stare at the cover, and then flipping it over to read the description. It was at least ten minutes of sitting in silence before Chrysalis made her decision. You saw four cases float back to the stack with the others, and looked to see that she selected "Monty Python". "Done", she announced, the DVD floating into your hand. You sat and waited for her to move off of you, but she didn't, and you had to nudge her with your arm. "Hey! What is wrong...with...you...” she trails off, following your gaze down to your trapped legs. She blushes, most likely embarrassed after her outburst, and rolls off onto her own bag. You stretch out your legs, extending your arms above your head, hoping to get some blood flowing back before standing up. Feeling confident, you walk forward only to nearly fall flat on your face, bracing your arms forwards to keep from hurting yourself. With a sigh, you try again and slowly limp your away over. You take the previous DVD out, switching it out for the new one. The new film starts up, and you crawl back to your red seat. Chrysalis settles back into her original position across your chest, and you reach your right arm back across her body, the two of you getting comfortable as the film's opening credits begin rolling. *** You feel a nudge in your side. Your eyes open, and you look down to see Chrysalis staring back up at you. You look over at the screen, which is displaying the main menu of the film. "Shit" "I wanted to change the movie myself, but I didn't know how. You were the only one that could, but you were asleep. Sorry." You run your fingers through her hair, softly saying, "Hey, don't worry. I would've done the same if I were in your position." She continues to just stare, so you smile to show her you're alright, and a smile slowly works itself on to her own face. You get up, standing still, using the wall behind yourself as a support while the blood rushes back to your legs. While you wait, you ask, "So, what do you wanna do next?" Chrysalis looks over at the DVDs and CDs, levitating two of each over to herself. You see that she's picked "The Thing", "Shaun of the Dead", "Hi-Five Soup" by The Aquabats, and "Hybrid Theory" by Linkin Park. She looks over each choice, finally smiling and stating her decision. "This one", she says, floating "Hybrid Theory" towards you. You look at her, shrug, then place the CD in the DVD tray, letting both slide into the player. The first track, "Papercut", begins, and you sit back down as Mike Shinoda begins his rap portion of the song. Chrysalis stands completely still for a moment, probably from hearing such new sounds. You remind yourself for the umpteenth time that Equestria doesn't have the same technology as Earth. The chorus kicks in, and Chrysalis lays down on the ground, curling herself up into a ball. You stop the music. "You alright?" She takes a second to respond, but you finally hear, "My ears..." You get out of your seat and down on to all fours, crawling over to her form on the ground. "My ears...", she moans out again. You place your hand on her side, not rubbing, just sitting still. "It's gonna be alright. If you still don't like it, just tell me and we'll stop. Understand?" She nods, and you get back up to resume the album. "Papercut" finishes, and the second track begins. Chrysalis gets up, walking back over to her beanbag next to you, allowing you to rub up and down her back once again. Track Two quickly becomes Track Three, which quickly turns into Track 5, which then becomes Track Twelve. Time flew by while you were listening, allowing your eyes to close and take in all the sounds coming from the television. "Pushing Me Away" fades out, and you look down at Chrysalis, whose eyes could not possibly get any wider. She wasn't blinking, and you knew that you should feel worried, but you want her to bring herself out of whatever she's doing. She blinks rapidly, and then looks up at you. "That...that was absolutely...", she begins, trailing off and looking at you. "Yes?" "Absolutely amazing! We don't have anything like that in Equestria!" She gushed, a wide smile on her face. You smile, enjoying how happy she was to find something she liked. She looked at you, the smile still on her face. "Can I ask you something?" You don't even think about what the questions could be, just saying, "How can I help you?" "Well", she begins. "It's about you." You gulp nervously, but allow her to continue. "Yes. While we were watching the movies, and I had my head on your chest, I was close enough to your heart to hear what it beat for. What I heard was...interesting." "Fuckfuckfuckfuck" "Oh, really? What did you hear?" "That's what I want to talk to you about." You chuckle nervously, your shirt suddenly feeling tighter around your neck "Could you tell me about your love life?” She asks curiously with a cute tilt of her head. //-------------------------------------------------------// Part I, Chapter VI - Attempting to Communicate //-------------------------------------------------------// Part I, Chapter VIII - The Questioning Of A Love Life You back away from Chrysalis, as she continues to stare softly into your eyes. Raising your arms out in front of you as if she were dangerous, you back further away from her; trying your hardest to avoid the topic. She merely stood still and watched you with what looked like...amusement. "Why the hell does she want to hear about me?" Grasping the door handle as you looked at her in fear, you nearly ran out of The Room, and considered where to go next. The guest bedroom sits to your left, but there's nowhere to go once inside. The bathroom is to your right, but just like the guest room, there's nowhere to go. You could try and run to the front door, making an escape in your car. Taking a step forward, you stop as a thought comes into your head. "What the fuck does Chrysalis mean she "heard what it beat for"?" You think it over, and when you realize what it means, you gulp, turning your attention towards the changeling in front of you, a playful smile on her face. "Son of a—" Before you can react, you find yourself unable to finish the thought, as a black mass lands itself on top of yourself, pinning you to the ground. She twists herself, allowing her to look down at you with her triumphant smirk while straddling your waist. You try desperately to escape, but find that it's hopeless. Your muscles relax, and you prepare yourself for whatever Chrysalis has for you. However, you weren't prepared for what came first. She dips her head down, locking her lips with yours, and kissing you deeply. Your eyes open in surprise, a gasp escaping forth as she pushes her tongue past your lips, suckling on it softly before pulling back. This wasn't the longest that the two of you had ever shared, but it was also only the second time you two have done something like it. She looks down at you with a sultry smile as she licks her lips. "That was for showing me a good time. Thank you." She said with a demure smile. You're about to reply with "You're welcome", but don't get the chance, as a hoof smacks your face, head lolling to the side. It wasn't enough to hurt, but enough to send a message. Your mouth hangs open as you search for words. "That was for trying to running away." Silence falls over both of you, her staring down at you with an unreadable expression as you tried to figure it out. A slight stinging sensation washes over your face, and you wanted ever to try and touch your cheek, but Chrysalis had your arms pinned down with ease. She clears her throat, and you refocus your attention as she begins to talk. "Now, as I was saying", she begins, a hint of annoyance in her voice at having to repeat herself. "I heard your heartbeat while we were watching Monty Python. Usually, when something like this happens, I have the ability to see into other's lives, mainly to seek out who they are most affectionate for. Your heart withheld some...interesting...information." She rolls off of you, standing herself back up on all fours. You sit yourself upright, leaning back against the T.V. stand. "So, would you mind telling me about your love life?" You open your mouth to speak, but she stops you before any sound comes out. "I'm not going to take "No" for an answer." "Fuck." You inhale deeply, thinking over what you want to tell her. You exhale and begin to talk. "Well, my first girlfriend, if you could even call her that, was in my Junior Year in high school. Her name was Nadia. She was very pretty, a little bit shorter than me, but when you can tell people that you have a girlfriend, none of that matters. We "dated" for a month, but it was really just constant making out. I can't complain; she was pretty good. The relationship fell through when I caught her with another guy." You look up, coming out of the first stop on your trip down memory lane. Chrysalis is staring at you attentively, wrapped up in what you're telling her. You look back down at your hands, prepared to continue, but a thump on the ground from your right interrupts. Chrysalis has sat herself down on her haunches, her tail in between her legs. Her wings flitter a little, and after a moment, she becomes still, and you continue to answer her question. "My next relationship lasted only a week during my Senior Year. Her name was Iris, and she was the one that ended the relationship after her parents found out we were together. After that, I stopped trying to find a girl, allowing myself to get back to work, trying to move out of my parents' house, find a place of my own, make money, stuff like that." You look up at Chrysalis, who is eyeing you questioningly. "Are you sure that's all? You nod your head, while she shakes hers. "Do I have to do it for you?” she asks. You wish she'd stop, as it was always painful to look back on failed relationships. She didn't notice your despair, and continued anyway. "Kaiya Doyle: Relationship lasted two months, she ended it. Nicole Lowell: Relationship lasted four days, you ended it after trying to make love, but finding that she enjoyed giving pain. ZDFan83: Relationship lasted two hours, you ended it after finding out "she" was a male. This list goes on and on." You continue to stare down at your hands, reliving every moment of each of those failed attempts. You don't notice it, but Chrysalis looks at you from her sitting position just in front of you, and a look of sadness washes over her face. She hangs her head, realizing that she is the reason you're feeling down. You hear her wings buzz, and look up to see her slowly float over to you. She lands next to your left arm, and nuzzles it softly. You lift the arm, and she quickly crawls underneath it, snuggling up next to you, resting her head on your chest. Your hand lands down on her back, and she lets out a sigh. "You know", she says, looking up at your face. "There was one last relationship on the list. It wasn't one that ended yet, nor has it even begun.  Would you like to hear it?" You already know who it is, as you had known since you first found her in your bed. You want to let her act as if she had found this out for the both of you. "Sure", you say in nothing more than a whisper. "It's me. You love me." Hearing her say it had only cemented the fact. Though you had only met her a few days ago, you grew attached to her. True, things started out rough for the both of you, but as time went on, things got better. The time the two of you had just spent in The Room gave you the perfect excuses to just get to be close to her, and that was all you could ever want. In the show, she'd been portrayed as a vile creature, one designed to strike fear into the hearts of everyone, but your time with her up to this point has shown you otherwise. She continues to look up at you. "Why me?” she asks. "Nopony has ever loved me, so why do you?" You lean your head down, giving her a quick peck on her forehead. "Words cannot explain my feelings for you, my Queen." Her cheeks grow red as the words leave your mouth. She turns her head away, trying to hide the blush, but fails, as you've already seen it. You smile to yourself, and silence falls over both of you once more. You rub up and down her spine, knowing that that's exactly how she likes it. She coos, and you rub deeper, pushing your palm down just enough to feel each vertebrae. She purrs affectionately, and you continue your ministrations. You suddenly feel drained, just like shortly after Chrysalis first arrived. You still can't figure out why it happens, but you just roll with it. You look down at Chrysalis, whose eyes are closed, her head still resting on your chest. You watch for a moment as her sleek chest slowly rises and falls with every breath you take. You run a hand through her hair, relishing in the silky feeling running over your fingers. You lean your head back against the television stand. A smile crosses your face, and you drift off to sleep, holding her tightly in your arms. //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Part I, Chapter I - First Encounter You slam the front door of your small, two bedroom apartment behind you as you storm over to the small desk that houses your computer, carelessly dropping your things on the floor as you go. You hit the startup button, then plop yourself down onto the black rolly chair and wait for it to finish booting. The screen flashes for a moment, then displays the familiar "Bliss" wallpaper, and a smile forms on your face. No matter how many times you saw that picture, it always brought a smile to your face, although you don't exactly know why. You move your hand slightly, and two clicks later, you see the Windows window open. Let the fun begin. First, you check Facebook. The white and blue page opens itself. You're already logged in, so you check you wall, only to find one new post. You disregard it, seeing as to how it looks like a drunk post from a friend, and move onto the next tab. Reddit is opened, and after browsing through r/funny for awhile, you move onto the final few things. You check your email, skim the latest breaking news, and check a Youtube link from earlier. Now comes the final, best part. You log on to "fimfiction.net" and begin to browse through your new, unread chapters from some of your favorite stories. Much time passes before you finally finish them all, and by the time you stand up from the chair, it's dark outside. You stretch out, releasing a groan, wiping your left hand over your face as your back arches. A low grumbling noise filled the room. It stops, and after a few more minutes, it happens again. You need some food. You walk over to the black fridge and open it up to see the limited items held within. Pizza or chicken? You shrug, closing your eyes and reaching out, trying to feel for what you'll eat. You open your eyes as they land on the black box of pizza. You smile to yourself while you walk over to preheat the small, matching oven, knowing that even if your hand had landed on chicken, you still would've picked the pizza. While the oven does its thing and heats up, you walk over to your bag that you had let fall off of yourself earlier, reaching inside of it and pulling out your iPhone. You turn the volume up to max and begin the Aquabats song "Chemical Bomb". You listen and nod your head a few times before the oven beeps, indicating it's ready for the frozen pizza. You slide it in, go to sit in the loveseat sitting in the corner, and begin waiting once more. Fourteen to fifteen minutes later, the oven dings again, signaling that the pizza is done. You pull it out, cut yourself two slices, then try to bite into the insanely hot piece, but instantly regret, mentally reprimanding yourself. You finish dinner later on. You've brushed your teeth and changed into your boxers to sleep in, and you curl up under the covers of your bed, slowly letting yourself drift off into Slumberland. The alarm clock blares at promptly 7:00 am, the sound echoing throughout the rest of the apartment. Your hand reaches over and slams down onto the "off" button. The sound in the room stops, but the alarm continues to sound off in your mind. You slowly sit up on the edge of the bed and stretch, arms and legs slightly shaking as you do so. You get up and head to the bathroom, grabbing youselfr a new pair of boxers, a shirt, and some pants before closing the door behind you. Minutes later, you leave the bathroom, exhaust fan left running to help clear out the steam inside the small, white room. You head back to your own room, and see a form lying underneath the sheets in your bed. You turn away, thinking it's just the way the light is shining into the room, but it's not. When you turn back, the form is still there, and a part of it seems to be rising, almost as if it were...breathing... You shudder at the thought of having a something just next to you while you slept without even realizing that it was there, but you brush it off and walk towards where the figure lay, wrapping your fingers around the edge of the comforter, and pull back. There, laying in your bed, is Chrysalis, Queen of the Changelings herself, living and breathing. Wait. You run that thought through your mind once more, shaking your head and smiling at your own stupidity for believing that the thing on your bed was a character from a TV show. You reach your hand downwards, telling yourself that whatever it is is not there. You brush your fingertips against her flank, and to your great suprise, you felt something. The feeling was not what you had expected from a pony, but then again, Chrysalis isn't exactly a pony. In place of small bristles of fur, her entire body was covered of her what felt like a latex of some sort. Your hand recoils as a moan escapes the lips of the creature on your bed, and you admire it as it spreads its wings, which, you notice, have holes in them, and then the rest of her body, which also has holes in it. Another moan escapes the lips of the creature, but it slowly devolves into a groan. You see its eyes shoot open, and are instantly struck by the color; blue and green. They widen greatly before the creature on the bed recoils away from you. You watch, equally terrified as your are intrigued, as the black creature zips from surface to surface. You raise your hands above your head, trying to show the creature that you mean it no harm, but when you get close to it, it bares its teeth at you. "What are you?! Where am I?!", the creature says, voice sounding oddly layered, as if one part of it was speaking in a different octave as the other.. "Easy", you say in as soothing a tone as you can manage. "It's gonna be alright." As afraid as you were of this new creature, whom you were now almost certain to be Chrysalis, the Queen of the Changelings, you couldn't help but also feel curious, watching it as it curled up into a ball on top of your dresser, her blue-green eyes darting around, looking for escapes. "Please. Just come down, and I'll tell you everything you want to know." //-------------------------------------------------------// Part I, Chapter I - The Unconscious Changeling //-------------------------------------------------------// Part I, Chapter II - The Cold Shoulder You look over at your digital clock. 7:35. You sigh and turn your attention back to the creature that you are now one-hundred percent certain is Chrysalis from "My Little Pony". She hasn't moved a muscle for the past five minutes, but her eyes stopped long before that. You don't know if you should take that as a sign that she's calming down, or she's waiting to pounce on you. A sudden noise, the excess water finally coming out of the faucet in your tub, startles you, and you momentarily break your concentration on the changeling infront of you. When you re-focus yourself, you find that her gaze is locked on to you. You tilt your head to the left, she tilts her head to the left. You tilt your head to the right, she tilts her head to the right. You wonder how long she'd continue to mimick you before getting frustrated, but the jagged horn jutting out of her head made you think otherwise. You stop toying with her and finally take a step forward. She raises an eyebrow at you as you complete your first step, then the other as you complete your second step. Congratulations, you made it about three inches. You begin taking the third step, but Chrysalis lets out a low growl. You continue, planting your foot firmly on the ground, now beginning your fourth. The growl is much louder now, and you contemplate continuation, and the uncertainty of getting stabbed by her horn, or turning away, leaving unharmed. You inhale deeply, then begin what could lead to the biggest mistake of your life. You succesfully complete the fifth step, and are halfway through the sixth when you hear Chrysalis say, "What the buck do you think you're doing?" Buck? Doesn't she mean....oh. You stop all other activity and try to find a good answer to her question. You think of a great one almost immeadeatly. "Trying....to, uh.....touch you?" Damnit. "Touch? Me? You're nothing but a lumbering ape! Why would I ever let something as filthy as you touch royalty like me?" She glares at you, waiting for another response. You think of yet another great answer. "Because..." You close your mouth again almost instantly as Chrysalis begins to chuckle. She raises her head, still glaring at you. "I've heard enough." She moves as if she's about to get off your dresser, but she instead repositions herself. "Leave", she says, a more commanding tone in her voice. You look back at her for a moment, smiling to yourself, but you realize she's serious. You hang your head in defeat. "I'll be outside if you need anything." You turn and walk out into the living room.
