Dreamshy
Prologue
Warmth.
Sitting atop a hill, looking in the afternoon sunset. A few autumn colored trees are surrounding you, a stream silently rushing by. Closing your eyes, you breath deep taking the clean, crisp air, filling your lungs until slowly exhaling. Laying down to stare in the afternoon sky, you hear the soft crunch of grass, turning your head to the side while cracking one eye, you see the yellow Pegasus known as Fluttershy slowly making her way to you, her pink mane flowing in the small breeze. She has a picnic basket in her mouth.
You sit up, still looking at her. She tries to smile, you can barely make it out due to the wicker basket's handle in her mouth, sometimes you just wish she was a unicorn, so she didn't have to carry everything with her mouth. Walking towards her, reaching out to grab the basket, she gladly allows you, still smiling at you. Walking in unison back to the spot on the hill, you can't help to noticed she seems happy, a lot more that usually. The shell that she hid in when out in public was gone, she didn't hold anything back, emotions or feelings. Love or hate. Nothing keep secret.
“Cat, can I ask you something?”
Looking down at the pony, her light green eyes staring back at you. Cat, short for Catori meaning spirit. It was a nickname given to you by Fluttershy when you first introduced yourself.
“Sure, anything Flutter.”
She tensed for a moment, her face slightly blushing under her yellow coat. Suddenly her face straighten, with no emotion. Her eyes were blank.
A female voice, not of her own, yelled.
“Wake up, Louis. You missed the class change!”
You shot up, missing the female's head by inches. Class change? Was I dreaming? You mumble to yourself. You are sitting at your desk in your English class.
“Son of a- Sorry Miss Leno. How long this time?”
“About 15 minutes into the warm up, Are you feeling ok? This is the forth time this week.”
“Ye-Yea, everything is ok. Just a bad night.”
Grabbing your notebook and the papers Miss Leno was handing you. Stuffing everything into your backpack. You look back at the desk from the doorway, checking if you left anything. Then dash out of the room, rushing to your next class, Computer Science. Your teachers have become accustom to your sleeping issues lately. In truth, it was bad nights, well more like good nights, that dream wasn't the first, many have happened before, mostly of Fluttershy.
Having no control over yourself in these dreams, you just watch, it was claustrophobic at first, but you coped. From spending your nights watching this dream story unfold, you were visiting from Canterlot. Princess Celestia wanted you to check on Twilight, the local librarian. Not really knowing why the princess wanted tabs on a librarian. You followed the order without argument. After the first report, she ordered you to say in Ponyville, still to keep an eye out for Twilight. She was really taking an interest in this librarian, almost stalker like.
Your mind snapping back to reality, reaching for the door handle to the Computer lab, you see Mr Dick still taking role. Well, at least you aren’t that late. You turn the handle, opening the door, not a single glance was seen. Quickly making your way to your seat at the back of the class.
“And Louis. Well, today we will be starting a class project. Everyone will be pairing up with a---”
Quickly losing interest in what Mr Dick as telling the class, the class was an odd numbered class, so your partner was the computer. It wasn't like you did anything in the class, just played random games and google random words. Anything he assigns is easily completed within minutes.
Thinking back to the dreams, they started early in the week. You have no idea why you are dreaming about ponies, or Pegasus for that matter. But every time you do dream, you are in a blissful state of relaxation, something you can never find in your life. This one pony, Fluttershy, dominated almost every dream. You even started to draw ponies on your off time, granted they looked like shit's ugly sister, but still. The dreams have been becoming longer, harder to tell between real and what is dream-state, except for the talking ponies. They are increasingly becoming the only think on your mind, losing interest in school which was not hard to do in the first place. You wonder what caused this sudden change in your life, why you started to dream about ponies.
“Ahg, I really just need to stop thinking altogether. Meh, I feel like playing Bloxorz.”
“Stage 25”
You stare at the computer screen, you have completed this stage many times before but it is getting close dismissal. Closing the window, you see your bus pull up, the way the classroom is set up so does Mr Dick, he types something on his computer and waves goodbye to you as you walk out of the classroom. As you are walking to your locker the intercom system barks out.
“Any Students riding bus 106, you are now dismissed”
You open your locker, quickly shoving your English text book in, then grab a green binder. Locking the locker, you put the binder carefully in your backpack and start to walk to the lobby. Pushing the door open, your English teacher stops you.
“I'm going to have to call home, the headmaster wants to set up a meeting with you. You understand, right?”
“Yes Miss Leno.”
On the bus, you pull out your phone and plug in the earphones, then tap play. Soft guitar music fills your ears, drowning out the loud engine and kids yelling to each other. You close your eyes, counting the stops, 14, 15, 16. You open your eyes and stand up, your stop was always the sixteenth. Checking by looking out the window, you see a two level house with a garage. Home.
After almost tripping over the legs of many children who don't care to move them, you walk to the mailbox, opening the flap and grabbing any mail, checking over for junk.
“Bill, Bill, Newsletter, junk, junk, and more junk.”
Walking up the pathway to the front door, you see a package, looking at the label, you see it for you. The return address is scratched out.
“Hm, I don't remember ordering anything, I wonder who sent it.”
You walking the house, closing the door behind you. Putting the mail down on the small table next to the shoe basket, you walk into the kitchen, throwing the junk mail into the trash. Your focus now turns to the package. Grabbing a butter knife, you cut the tape holding the flaps. Opening the box, you see packing peanuts and a small note on top of the pile. Picking the letter up, it reads.
Dear Louis,
Your dreams are not unusual. Judging by the amount of times you have visited me, it shouldn't be long before you arrive. You are needed to fulfill an assignment. I'm unable to explain in detail what this assignment is due to the situation at hand. You may ask any questions, once you arrive that is. If you wish to not take part in the assignment, then when you arrive I can send you back.
P.L.
You stare blankly at the letter in your hand.
“Someone knows about my dreams? I never told anyone about them. Did I talk in my sleep, is this someone's sad way of poking fun at me?”
Rereading the letter, this time looking for name.
“P.L. Who do I know with those initials?”
You dig around the packing peanuts, nothing. Grabbing a trash bag, dumping out the peanuts to see if anything was under it, still nothing.
“Why send a package if it's just a letter?”
You take the box and now full trash bag to the garage, breaking down the box once you toss the bag in the garbage can. You are still surprisingly calm. Normally you would freak the fuck out, its not everyday your dreams ship you a letter, but the was real not fake or imagination, this was calming somehow. Obviously this letter was about the strange pony filled dreams, but it was a physical letter, something you can hold. Dreams are just that, dreams. They shouldn’t be able to send you letters. What worried you the most was who ever is sent you this letter was apart of that world and needed you.
The sound of a doorbell and two knocks distract you from your thinking. Opening the door you see a man with a package in hand, dressed in a UPS uniform.
“Package for Samantha Cox.”
“My mother, Do I need to sign?”
The man is tapping a small device in his hand “No need, have a nice day”
“You too”
Closing the door, you place the package on top of the mail. Walking back into the kitchen, you grab a glass from the cabinet and shakily pour yourself some orange juice. You start walking up stairs to your bedroom, glass in hand.
Closing your bedroom door, you take a seat behind your computer screen. You worked during the summer to pay for this computer, custom build from the ground up, took you 4 days once the parts arrived. Every time you see it, it brings a smirk to your face, not everyday you see a tri-montor gaming rig that your build yourself. Quickly tapping the spacebar, the screens come alive, asking for a passcode, typing it in the screens go black then a beautifully painted sunset fills them. A background you dug for on google images, it was relaxing, and now reminded you of the dream.
You start to play the same soft guitar music from the bus, then you dim the screens. To spite the fact you build this computer to play games, the only thing you really do is play music and experiment with Illustrator. The recent drawing of ponies had gotten you interested in computer graphics, you still play TF2 here and there but today you just want to sit back and relax.
“Just relax, you can think about this in the morning. Deep breaths.”

Without even trying, you fall fast asleep. You awake in the dream world, a large hotel room with a desk and fully stocked mini-fridge. Your job was to keep an eye on twilight and being a human in a pony world that wouldn't be too hard. The moment you entered ponyville, a pink earth pony named Pinkie Pie threw a welcoming party. You met Twilight at that party, being the curious pony she is, she wanted to learn about your species. Your job wasn't that hard, just don't let twilight find out your reporting back to Celestia, again really stalker like. You heard the rumors that almost every mare was, at one point, a fillyfooler. This is due to the surprising lack of stallions, but to think of all the ponies in Equestria, that the Princess was interested in mares, you are not against it, but being the Princess you would think she would have many options.
You sit down at the small desk in the corner and start to write a letter to the Princess.
Dear Princess Celestia,
Unfortunately Twilight is still ill. The strange sickness that is affecting Twilight appears to be an advanced case of poison joke, giving her red sores and disables her magic and a nasty fever. According to Nurse Redheart, Twilight should break the fever sometime tomorrow. I will send note when when Twilight's fever does break, Zecora should have the remedy ready then. Twilight also wanted me to write to you, she is sorry she can't send you anything. Spike was busy helping Applejack most of the week, something about a 'Dragon Code'. Honestly, she was completely losing it, stuck in a hospital, sure her friends were there to comfort her, but she was worried sick, thinking you would send her back to 'Magic Kindergarden'. I personally think once the fever breaks you should met her. Just a suggestion, she would greatly appreciate her closest friend and mentor to stop by.

You roll the letter up after checking you any spelling errors, no spellcheck for letters. Letting out a chuckle, you grab a glass bottle and place the letter inside it. Then you place your right hand on the bottle and with a small puff of pinkish-purple smoke, the letter vanishes.
Princess Celestia enchanted your right hand to allow you to send her letters, she didn't have any spare green and purple dragons laying around. The downside is you lost feeling in your entire hand, which made writing surprisingly easier, writing with a big feather wasn't fun when your hand was extremely ticklish. The Princess had told you before the spell this is reversible, but you had had no other way to send her letters. She wouldn't even trust the mail system, really stalker like.
Laying back down on the bed in the corner of the room, the feeling of soft silk surrounding you. Starting to doze off, no dreaming, just guitar music. You know you are back in your own world but you don't want to open your eyes, the darkness felt comfortable, the feeling of silk still present You sit like this for what seems like hours, thankfully you put the song on repeat, so even the song won't end.
Finally, you officially fall asleep, no dream this time. Just pure silence.

Chapter 2
BEEPBEEPBEEP-BEEPBEEPBEEP
Your hand slaps the alarm clock on your desk until it stops beeping, about three times, maybe one extra for good luck. Stretching your arms, a couple of pops heard, you start to stand up. Falling asleep on an office chair was not the most comfortable in the world but you didn't mind it. You remember what happened yesterday, checking your phone.
“Shit, 4:30? I forgot to turn off the alarm, again.”
Both mentally and physically facepalming, you snatch up the clock from your desk and rip out the batteries. You had quit your weekend job two weeks ago but due to your extreme laziness, the alarm was still set, waking you up at 4:30 for the past two weekends. Not really needing the money only because you still lived with your parents and just started your high school senior year. You only took the job because of the gaming computer, they (as in your manager) pulled some strings to get you a job throughout the school year, you took it but soon the stress of home, school, and work got to you. Quitting early in the morning, you sleep for three days straight, missing school one day.
Thinking back, you realize these dreams started not to long afterwards.
“Maybe the stress did something, am I going crazy?”
Chucking, at least is was a bearable craziness. Pascal colored ponies is much better that dark, lovecraften monsters hiding in every shadow.
Shivering at the thought, “Damn my imagination.”
Placing the now dead clock back on the desk while throwing the batteries in the trash can next to your desk, you notice the strange letter. Grabbing it to read it over again, blank. Wait, what?
Flipping over the paper to check the back, it too is blank.
“The fuck? This was a letter earlier. I was NOT dreaming that.”
Looking away from the now blank letter, you spy the half full glass of orange juice, reassuring your thoughts.
“Maybe I am going crazy. Well, fuck.”
The song you left playing last night was now off, you had set your computer to never shutdown, only dim the screen after about an hour. Someone had turned it off, and possibly read the letter too, or at least tried.
“Maybe mother saw it or something. Speaking of which, she is possibly still sleeping.”
You sit back down and grab a T.V. Remote next to your keyboard. Pressing the power button, your left most monitor flashes to life, the monitors also doubled as T.V. Screens, switching from input to input. You hear a small tick and your sound system kicks into life. Discovery channel was on, and your favorite show was on too, How its Made. This episode was about rubber erasers, already seeing this almost 12 times. You start pressing the next channel button.
About half an hour later, you decide nothing is on at 5 in the morning. The only thing that really got your attention were ads for 'Girls Gone Wild' but that channel was, sadly, ending its infomercial time period the minuet you got to it. Pressing the off button, the screen again dims to a low power state.
“Ffffffffuuuuuuucccccckkkk. What the hell to do now?”
Now having some time, and nothing distracting you, you start thinking about what the blank letter once said.
“Judging by the amount of times you have visited me, it shouldn't be long before you arrive.”
You wished who ever did write this letter would at least tell you how long you had before meeting them. Lately the dreams have been getting longer and harder to not have. You use to be able to stop the dream at anytime you wanted, but now you had to watch until the dream you falls asleep. Luckily, the dream you was always minuets away from sleeping. Of corse sleeping in class was not new, but dreaming in class was. You didn't know much about what you did when you are asleep, for all you know, you could have been talking.
“Ah, that would be embarrassing as hell.”
With nothing better to do, you close your eyes. Waiting a couple of minutes, you then open them, but this time you are looking at what looks like hardwood flooring. Turning your head you soon release you are laying down in a bed. Covered with a large light red blanket with white squares in a patten. You feel an itch on your nose, waiting for your dream self to notice the itch.
“Well?”
Wait, what? Did my dream self just say that?
You try to move your arm, with your surprise it moves to your command. You scratch the itch, then try to move out of the bed. You freeze when you hear a moan. The sheets behind you tug lightly, then a fur covered arm falls over your stomach, no wait, a wing. Turning your head to your right, you are met with a yellow face covered partly with light pink hair. Two hoofs lightly pressed on your arm.
You instantly remember the face.
Fluttershy.
“What. The. Actual. Fuck.”
Yelling in your head. The first thing you could think of was to return to real life. Closing your eyes. You wait for what felt like hours, you open your eyes. And, again, met with that same yellow face. You have seen this face many times before but the inability to control the dream you was like a wall, protecting you, but now you can control yourself, you feel exposed. Truthfully, you shouldn't be freaking out, but awaking in the bed with Fluttershy was shocking. The last time you watched your dream self, he fell asleep in a hotel, why did you awake in her bed now?
You are now pinned, her wing is holding you, well mostly just laying on you, but you know if you tried to move, she could awake. Thinking over what you can do, she starts to move again, pulling the wing back. Then her eyes slowly open, greenish-teal colored irises staring back at you. You freeze yet again as she blushes, moving closer then kisses you, on the lips. Giggling, she gets up starts to get out of bed.
What?
Looking back at you, she grows a worrying look on her face.
“Ar-are you ok? Louis?”
You couldn't speak, just stare. It felt like a lump was stuck in your throat, stoping you from even breathing. Nearly passing out due to suffocation, you are able to finally squeeze a sentence.
“Yea, just tired.”
She giggles again, walking out of the door in front of the bed, her room was somewhat large, with a dresser to the left of the bed and doors to a closet. The only thing that looks new was the bed, which still begs the question; When did you get here? Turning to get out of the bed, you soon realize you have nothing on under the blanket. Ok, if anytime was good to start freaking out, it was now. You, or your dream self, was in bed with Fluttershy with nothing on, both cursing and thanking yourself for not remembering what happened the night before. At the moment, you didn't think you could even handle if you were told what happened, probably just start rocking in the nearest corner.
Looking around for the clothing, you half expected them to be on the ground but they were nowhere to be seen. You get up, using the blanket to cover yourself, walking to the dresser. When Fluttershy left, she didn't grab anything to wear, well she was a pony, they didn't wear much anyway, this made the dresser look out of place. Opening the dresser, you see clothing, human clothing.
“Christ, almost had a heart attach there.”
Now fully clothed, you walk out of the room, to your left another door, possibly a linen closet, and to the right a stairway. Walking down the stairs you are soon greeted by Fluttershy, but your eyes weren’t looking at her. Another pony, this one with a long horn and wings, was standing next to Fluttershy. Well, more like towering over Fluttershy, she nearly double the size of Fluttershy. Her midnight blue and black colored mane was flowing in the air, almost like a fan was on her, but you couldn't see a fan anywhere, in fact not even a lamp or any kind of light source. Did Fluttershy even have electricity, did this dream world even have it?
The dark colored pony spoke, breaking your thinking.
“I understand you are the one they call Louis.”
That lump was back, making it hard to breath yet again.
“Yes.”
“I'm glade I can finally meet you. My name is Princess Luna.”
Princess Luna, that name didn't sound familiar. If this is the same dream world as before, then these lands should be ruled by Princess Celestia. Wait, Princess Luna, P.L.
“Was it you who sent me the letter?” You blurt out without thinking.
Fluttershy's face dropped to a frown. Her eyes were starting to water. Princess Luna's expression was completely different, a big grin grew on her face. She looked at Fluttershy, then that grin died.
“Don't worry, he will still be the same. Just a little shaken.”
She looked up from Fluttershy. “Louis, I understand you are a little confused, just calm down. You are in no harm. I would like to talk to you in private, when you are ready. Just do that trick Celestia showed you when you are ready.”
She started to walk out of the what you guessed is the front door. Stoping half-way out of the door, she looked back with a small smirk on her face.
“Welcome to Equestria”
