Academy Disaster

Rainbow flew through the course. Cloud Chaser right behind her, her new wing pony after the disaster with her ‘lead pony.’
“Come on Cloud Chaser keep up!” Rainbow yelled as she turned her head back to face Cloud Chaser who was barely able to keep up.
“R-rainbow D-dash! S-slow down!” She yelled back in response.
“Alright, Alright” Rainbow responded as she slowed down to a pace Cloud Chaser could keep up to.
“Cloud, we need to work on your speed, we’ll never get anything done if we keep having to slow down.” Rainbow said as a wind gust started to blow past them.
“I know, I’ve been practicing like you said but I-” Cloud Chaser was cut off as the wind gust started to push both of them off course. They tumbled in the air for a few moments before Rainbow recovered. She looked around to find Cloud Chaser still tumbling. She raced to Cloud Chaser as fast as she could catching her and pulling her out of the gust.
“Thanks.” Cloud Chaser said.
“No problem, now come on, we have to hurry back before Spitfire starts to wonder were we are.” Rainbow said as the two of them hurried back to the platform Spitfire was standing on.
Rainbow and Cloud Chaser landed, they were surrounded by their fellow academy flight students. Some of them started to snicker, but neither Rainbow nor Cloud Chaser payed any attention to it.
“Cloud Chaser and Rainbow Dash, last.” Spitfire said as she wrote something on her clipboard.
By this point one of the cadets spoke up. “Hey Rainbow Dash, why is the back of your flight suit all wet?”
“Huh, its not-” Her eyes grew wide as she turned her head seeing the large wet spot on the back of her Flight suit.
‘Oh no, no! no! no! no! I forgot to fly through a cloud... They’re all looking at me, what do I do, what do I do!?’ Rainbow thought to herself as she could now feel that her eyes were not lying to her.
“I, uh, flew through a cloud, yup, and, I uh, yeah, the cloud was wet.” Rainbow stuttered.
“Uh, Rainbow, we didn’t fly through any clouds.” Cloud Chaser said.
‘Thanks a lot Cloud Chaser!’ Rainbow thought as she mentally yelled at her wingpony.
“Way to watch your leaders flank!” Rainbow lashed out at Cloud Chaser.
“Rainbow, did you... wet yourself?” Cloud asked as she now started to catch a smell in the air.
“N-no!” Rainbow said as her face turned a crimson red color.
At this point the snickering had started to turn into full out laughter, some of the cadets even started to call her names.
“Flight lead Rainbow Dash? More like Lead Foal Rainbow Splash.”
“How did she even get into the academy, she needs to go back to flight kindergarten.”
The crowd of ponies seemed to start to spin around Rainbow Dash as she could feel her eyes watering up.
“Aww, is little foal Dashie upset? Does wittle Dashie need a change?”
Rainbow dropped to the ground as she sobbed. ‘Why did this have to happen to me!? My life is ruined!’ She thought to herself.
“Everypony compose yourselves.” Spitfire said in a harsh voice. “The next pony that makes a comment about Cadet Rainbow Dash will have to clean the runway with their tooth brush! And they won’t be getting a new one for a month.”
Spitfire and several other Wonderbolt instructors broke the crowd up. Spitfire then returned, Cloud Chaser was still standing next to her flight captain.
“Rainbow Dash? It’s ok, you need to calm down. All of the other ponies are gone now.” Cloud said as she reached a hoof out and tried to place it on Rainbow’s shoulder.
“Cadet Cloud Chaser, leave us.” Spitfire said.
Cloud Chaser nodded and walked off, she turned back once, feeling almost responsible for what happened to Rainbow Dash.
“Rainbow Dash, you don’t have any more flight training for today, go back to your room and clean up. Somepony will come check on you later.” Spitfire said as she helped Rainbow Dash up. Rainbow simply spread her wings and took off as fast as she could back to her room. Tears streaked out of her eyes as she flew. Making her way into the barracks and to her room, closing the door and locking it behind her.

“Rainbow Dash, I’ve told you time and time again not to perform such dangerous stunts, and this one came around and bit your behind, literally.” The unicorn doctor said as he levitated several x rays in front of him.
“Well Doc, what’s the prognosis? Can I go home yet?” Rainbow asked.
“Well, you will be able to go home soon, however your little crash into that tree while you were performing a sonic rainboom caused some, damage.” The doctor said as he lowered the x rays down on the table at the end of the bed Rainbow was laying in.
“Damage?” Rainbow asked.
“Yes, you um, when you crashed, the tree damaged some nerves, specifically the ones that control your bladder and bowels, the damage isn’t severe but its damage all the same.” The doctor explained. “When you perform advanced flight maneuvers, you might ‘lose control’ of your bladder and possibly even your bowls, we aren’t sure and won’t know until the test results come in.” The doctor said.
Rainbow’s eyes went wide. “Y-you, you can fix this, r-right?” Rainbow asked.
“Even with medicines and magic having progressed as far as they have, there is currently no way to fix this kind of damage.” The doctor said.
Rainbow’s eyes grew large. Her world was very much crashing down around her. Doing the very thing she loved would cause humiliation to an extreme.
“You are free to go home now, howev-” The doctor was cut off by the prismatic trail of Rainbow’s mane and tail flying past, the colors reflected by the trail of streaming tears falling behind Rainbow Dash.

‘It’s Jr. Flight Camp all over again!’ Rainbow thought to herself as she cried into her pillow. She was laying on her bed in her room at the Academy, crying to herself.
‘The names are even the same!’ She thought as she continued to cry. Outwardly, Rainbow Dash would act as if she didn’t have a problem. She’d make a point of it to fly through clouds to hide the fact of course, but nopony would ever be able to tell. Inwardly she was a wreck, her entire flying career might have been ruined by the stupid injury, an unintentional self inflicted injury.
There was a knock at the door.
“Go Away!” Rainbow yelled.
There was another knock on the door followed by the click of the door being unlocked. A figure stepped through the door only to just miss being hit by a pillow being thrown blindly at the door.
“Rainbow Dash?”
Rainbow Dash was sitting facing away from the door, her ears perked up, she knew that voice.
“S-Spitfire?” Rainbow said turning her head.
Spitfire closed the door behind her and walked into the room.
“How did you-” Rainbow stopped when she saw the key Spitfire had dangling down from a chain around her neck.
“Rainbow Dash, is there something you want to talk about?” Spitfire asked as she sat down on the edge of Rainbow’s bed.
Rainbow remained silent.
“The ponies in the laundry room told me you had been bringing in your sheets every day, and now that little, ‘accident’ out in the field has me concerned for you.” Spitfire said.
Rainbow closed her eyes as she tried to compose herself. “I don’t have any problems, I’m fine.” She said denying everything Spitfire implied.
“Rainbow, you know you can’t fool me. That, and the base doctor has your medical records on file, I know you have nerve damage, I know it causes you to have bed wetting issues and loss of control during flight.” Spitfire paused. “And I know how hard this must be for you, considering your record also shows your Jr. Flight Camp experiences.” Spitfire said.
“At least at Jr. Flight Camp it was only bed wetting.” Rainbow said flatly.
“We both know it could be worse, you could have two problems instead of just the one and you know it.” Spitfire said.
“I might as well have the other problem! My life in flying is over! Who wants to go see a Wonderbolt show and get rained on? Better, why would the Wonderbolts even let me in.” She said as she started to let more tears escape her eyes.
Spitfire remained silent for a few moments.
“You aren’t the only pegasi with this problem.” Spitfire said softly as she reached a hoof over to Rainbow and resting it on her back. “Many pegasi have the same problem and have fulfilling careers in flight, they all overcame their problem.” Spitfire said.
“Yeah, by that you mean they all got better, well, I can’t be fixed!” Rainbow lashed out. “You probably think this is just going to fix itself for me, but it won’t!”
“They didn’t get better, they used methods to hide their problem. I brought one of those methods with me, I thought it might help.” Spitfire said as she reached into her saddlebags and pulled out several objects.
“Foal Powder and Diapers!?” Rainbow exclaimed. “You can’t be serious! What pony fixes their problem with something even more degrading!?”
“Well, Cloud Chaser’s sister, Soarin...” Spitfire paused. “Me...” She said softly.
Rainbow turned her head back to Spitfire. “You?”
Spitfire nodded.
“Look Rainbow Dash, you're not the only pony who has issues with their bladder when you fly, and you most certainly aren’t the only pony who has bed wetting issues.”
“B-but diapers, they would make it worse, everypony would start calling me more names, I can’t...” Rainbow said.
“Let me let you in on a little secret, these can’t be seen under your flight suit, they are designed to be discreet under your Wonderbolts flight suit.” Spitfire leaned closer to Rainbow’s ear. “In fact you didn’t even care to notice I’m wearing one right now.” She leaned away.
Rainbow gave her a look, almost questioning what Spitfire just said.
Spitfire nodded in response. “Rainbow, all I’m asking is that you give it a try, they save your sheets at night, and save your flight suit and dignity during the day, speaking of flight suits, I thought I told you to change out of that wet one you’re still wearing.”
“Heh, I, um...” She went silent blushing as she rubbed a hoof behind her head in embarrassment.
Spitfire stood up from the bed and walked over to the door, she stopped halfway to the door. “I expect to see you in the lineup at six hundred hours.”
“Yes Ma’am” Rainbow replied.
Spitfire gave a slight smile before proceeding to the door, closing it shut behind her.
Rainbow got up and stripped her wet flight suit off and put it in her clothing hamper. She went back to her bed and laid down on it. She picked up her latest Daring Do novel and opened it to the bookmarked page. She started reading until her eyes wandered over to the foal powder and diapers that were still resting on her bed.
“I guess, trying one can’t hurt, to um, get used to it.” Rainbow thought out loud letting her curiosity get the better of her.
She opened one of the diapers and laid it out on her bed before lowering herself onto it. She then lifted the foal powder and applied it before bringing the diaper up around her waist before fastening it in place. She stood up and looked at herself in the mirror next to her bed. She blushed.
“I don’t look that foalish...” She thought out loud. She started to walk, aware of every little movement because of the object now strapped around her rear. She then sat down on her bed and opened her Daring Do book up again. She started reading her book as she felt an urge. ‘Well if I’m going to be using these at night and during flight practice, I might as well get used to wearing a used one, I don’t think Spitfire would let me change in the middle of flight practice.’ Rainbow thought to herself.
She concentrated as she tried to relieve herself with no success, she tried again only to feel a blockage. Just as soon as she gave up, she remembered that all she had to do was fly. She stood up and spread her wings lifting off into the air, her room was small, so she would have to do some pretty advanced flying to get anything done in such a small space. She flew in several small loops before she felt the diaper start to get warmer and heavier. She then proceeded to land and lay back down in her bed, picking up her book and continuing to read eventually falling asleep.
