It was a beautiful day in Ponyville. Twilight Sparkle was at Fluttershy’s cottage. It was going to be a special day in Ponyville, as they were going to have a great celebration. This celebration would be like the 4th of July, with fireworks. Twilight Sparkle was working with Fluttershy’s animals.
Suddenly, there was a big thud, and Twilight Sparkle found herself on the ground with Rainbow Dash on top of her. Rainbow Dash said, “Twilight, we have a big problem down at Town Hall.”
Rainbow Dash flew off, leaving a rainbow trail behind her, while Twilight Sparkle followed, going as fast as she could. When they arrived, there was a hooded figure standing there. The hooded figure said, “Today will be a great day. Do you want to know why, Ponyville? . . . Because the great and powerful Trixie has come back.” She took the hood off, and everyone gasped.
Rainbow Dash flew over with Spike and started laughing at this pathetic sight. “Why are you back?” Rainbow Dash asked, remembering how the not-so-great and not-so-powerful Trixie had failed in her earlier attempt to defeat Ursa Major.
Trixie answered, “I have a special magic trick for you.” Her horn glowed and zapped Rainbow Dash and Spike with magic. Rainbow Dash’s mane turned a light gray, while the rest of her body turned black. Spike’s normal purple and green turned to a dark blue and silver. At first, they were stunned, but then they woke up from what had happened, and everyone gasped …… once again. Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, and Fluttershy and others in the crowd that had gathered looked at what just happened. Their friends, Rainbow Dash and Spike, had now changed into a pony and dragon of different colors.
Trixie said, “Ponyville, bow down to Trixie, or my slaves will kill you.”
A pony in the crowd said, “Why should we listen to you:” Trixie was mad hearing this and yelled, “Slate kill her!” Rainbow Dash—now apparently known as Slate--did what he was told. He grabbed the pony and ripped her head off. Pony blood and flesh went everywhere. Twilight was scared. She said, “Who is Slate, and what happened to Rainbow Dash and Spike?”
Trixie answered, “Rainbow Dash and Spike are gone. Slate and Dark Mist have taken their place.” Applejack was mad, and Trixie saw this. Trixie thought, “Maybe Slate could kill Twilight.” Trixie whispered to Slate, and Slate nodded. Slate jumped and shapeshifted into to a diamond dog and attacked Twilight. Slate jumped, grabbing Twilight. At this point, Spike, now Dark Mist, was standing in front of Apple Jack, Rarity, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy, and Twilight was on the ground.
Twilight said, “Please . . . stop.” Slate was about to punch Twilight, but Twilight’s horn glowed and shot Slate’s paw, which suddenly blew up. Slate cried in pain. Slate, Trixie and Dark Mist got scared and ran out of Ponyville.
