As the giant retreated a few steps back, the boy fell to the ground, writhing in pain."See you later Roberts." yelled the bulky neanderthalic individual."Next time, try not to be so emo, you little faggot!" Just as the last word of that sentence left his mouth, the halls filled with the laughter of the many students.
"Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrng!" The bell had sounded to signify that first hour was about to start. With students walking in every direction to their regular routine, the small boy picked himself up and noticed that his back pack was missing.
"Your probably asking yourself, who is this Roberts kid who was just treated like an human sized rag doll. Well, that kid is me. My name is Tyler Roberts. The genetic defect that just tried to crush all of my internal organs is Seth, the school's star quarterback. The dude is always looking for ways to make my life a living hell and so far, he's succeeding."
Let me tell you a little about myself. I was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The town was quiet, the town was quiet, the people were friendly, and NO!!! We did not live in a swamp or have alligators as pets. My parents were big time doctors and were widely known as the best doctors in town. They actually come from a long line of doctors on both sides of my family. That line might have continued had I had any interest in becoming a doctor or had my parents had another child before their unfortunate and untimely demise. They were both on their way home from work late at night for Christmas, a few days before then to be exact. I was about seven years old, waiting at home with my grandparents. When the doorbell rings, I rush to the door as fast as i could only to find that there was an officer standing in the door way baring horrible news. They were killed in a car accident. A drunken idiot got behind the wheel to get more beer for a Christmas party they were having. They got broadsided. The impact killed them both instantly. When I heard the news it was like my entire being was shattered. This happy kid who didn't have a care in the world with parents that gave him the brightest of smiles was gone. All that was left was a shadow of that person with a heart that was shattered beyond repair. What a Christmas that was, right? With my parents death, all the money they had saved up over the years, their stocks, the trust funds they had for me, I had inherited it all. I was set for life, but what good was any of it to a kid that just lost his parents.
After a few months, my Grandparents on my mother's side assumed guardianship and Everything my parents were, they were ten times more. I had moved in with them in their big house in Connecticut. They put me in a new school where most of the kids were just stuck up little punks that came from rich families. Still traumatized, I kept to my self. Didn't interact with any other kids, just sat alone in the corner, under a tree when it was recess. Recess, absolutely the worst. That's when the kids would start to gang up on me. Hitting me, calling me names, just as little kids would do. and this went on from third grade onto middle school, from middle school onto my high school. The only thing that changed were the people. And that's the story of little Tyler.
As the students are making their way to their class rooms, I frantically looked for my school bag. Knowing Seth, he probably took it while i was down and threw it into a trash can one his way to class. Fortunately, i know what class he has first hour. Unfortunately, he sits in the desk behind me in first hour. The guy was a real muscle head but wasn't the smartest guy around. All brawn, no brain. The exact opposite of me.
I consider myself a technical genius. Not like Bill Gates or Steve Jobs mind you, but i was pretty knowledgeable. I've built my own computer, I can identify a problem and fix it in no time. I was a member of the computer club and I've helped fix the school computers numerous times. I never have to worry about a lack of cables and wires because I know who to make my own. I am the schools computer guru. And why do i get beat up? Because people don't change. That's what sucks. You could have all the money in the world and fix everyone's computer problems, but none of that matters to assholes.
"Hey Tyler, wait up!" I knew instantly who it was that was calling out to me by the sound of his voice. It was my one and only friend, Coby Alexander, captain of the basketball team. Coby and I have been friends since i had moved to Connecticut. When He saw how the other kids would ridicule me with their name calling and mocking laughter. I never forgot that first act of kindness that someone had done for me. To this day, we have been the best of friends."Hey man. What's up?" he asked as he caught up with me.
"Jock, thrashed, stolen belongings, late for class. The usual." I answered back to my annoyed pal.
"Why do you put up with him?"
"Dont worry dude, I might not have to deal with him much longer. Have you seen the Neurotically Yours episode about bullies?"
"You mean that web series with the realist squirrel that goes on rants about the state of the world?"
"Yep. There were some really good ideas about how to deal with a bully that insured that he wouldn't mess with me again."
"Like what?" Coby said with a worried look on his face.
"Like throwing him down a flight of stairs, throwing a chair or a desk or anything that isnt nailed down to the floor. Punching him in the balls."
"Dude, what the hell?" he yelled in disbelief.
"What? You asked?"
"Are you looking for a one way ticket to jail?"
"If i do any of that, the first thing that will happen is that I'll be brought to the principal's office because i beat up a fellow "student" and when he starts the whole question and answer deal. I'll just immediately say 'I was merely defending myself against continuous attacks perpetrated daily by this neanderthalic individual and had to resort to drastic measures because the learning institution I attend sat idle without intervention, allowing routine beatings i received to continue. I should sue you.' Just like Foamy had put it."
".....dude, that's messed up."
"Do explain. because the way i see it, I've had to deal with this jackass every day since middle school and now its continued on to my sophomore year in high school. That's five years Seth has made my life a hell that i had to deal with. and you're saying I'm messed up?"
"I'm just worried. You could get expelled for that."
"So what, they expel me and lose a lawsuit. In the end, i win."
"Whatever, i know you aren't serious." he said in an irritated tone
"Then why were you worried?"
"HEY COBY!" yelled a voice. Coby turned around to see who it was that called out to him, but i didn't have to i knew that it was another friend of Coby's that was on the basketball team by the sound of his voice. It's a special gift of mine. "Coach needs us in the gym for a meeting."
"Alright, give me a second!", he yelled back and turned to me. "Tyler, promise me you wont do anything stupid."
"Fine." I said. "But i cant make any promises." He turned and shook his head at my comment and ran toward that same direction as his team member.
As i approached the class room, i looked in the nearest trash can to see if the idiot had thrown my bag in it and lo and behold there it was. but as i pulled it out i saw and felt that someone had poured coke all over it.
"Great!" I sighed to myself. "That's how it's going to go today."
"SPIKE! SPIIIIKE!!" yelled a purple pony "SPIKE!! WAKE YOUR SCALY HIDE UP!!
"I'm up. I'm up. What's got you're tail in a bunch? I was having a really great dream Twilight." answered the purple dragon
"Sorry Spike. It's just that we have a lot to do today and i also have an assignment from Princess Celestia and i want to get to it at least by the afternoon."
"What kind of assignment is it?" Spike asked with curiosity in his eyes as Twilight pulled a book out of her bag.
"The Princess wants me to learn about opening inter-dimensional windows and that's why we have to hurry and finish our errands today so i can get started."
"Wait a second, isn't that advanced magic?" asked the surprised dragon. "Yes, Spike. After I had passed the test at the Crystal Empire, Princess Celestia thought that i was ready to further my studies."
"Wow Twilight, that's amazing!"
"Oh, stop it Spike. Come on. We have a lot to do today. We were asked by Applejack to help with repairs to her barn, Pinkie Pie asked that we help her with a party she's throwing for Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake's birthday. Rarity needs us to make some adjustments on our outfits for the Gala coming up and Rainbow Dash needs us to help her with a new trick she's trying out."
"Um, Twi, do you think we'll have time to do all that today and still have time to start the assignment." Spike asked
"Yes, Spike, I do. I made a schedule for everything and if we follow it, we should have plenty of time for me to begin by this evening." Twilight said with enthusiasm in her voice. "Here, you can hold on to the list. Are you ready?"
"Yeah. Where do we go first?"
"Why don't you check the list? You ARE holding it."
"Oh, right. We need to go to Applejack's first. Makes since, she would be the person to want to start working early."
As the two made their way to Applejack's farm, they saw a young filly they know on her way to the school house. "Hi Twilight. Hi Spike," said the small yellow pony
"Good morning, Applebloom." Twilight responded."Is Applejack ready down at the farm?"
"Yup. Her an' Big Mac are waitin' for ya right now." said the young filly as she skipped along to school.
"Good to know, that's where we're heading now. Have a good day at school."
"Thanks Twilight, good luck."
It wasn't long before Twilight and Spike where walking up to the barn on the Apple families land.
"Mornin' Twilight, Spike." greeted an orange pony with a stetson hat on with a red stallion standing next to her.
"Good morning Applejack, Big Macintosh. Are you both ready to get started with the repairs." Twilight responded
"Eeyep." said the red stallion
"What repairs need to be made? Everything looks fine." Spike asked as he looked at the outside of the barn.
"That's because we need to fix what's on the inside, little buddy. Not the outside." Applejack said
"Oh" Spike said as he and the three ponies walked in the barn.
When Applejack said that they needed to make repairs, she meant it in every way. The top deck and the support beams were all rotted through and by the looks and the sounds of the creaking wood, there couldn't be anymore waiting.
"So what is it that you need us to do?" Twilight asked while looking around.
"Well, we really need tah replace the support beams and 'ahm afraid that if we try to do it our selves, the whole barn will fall on us. That's where you come in. We just need you to use your magic to hold the building up until we can take down these old beams and put new ones up. You think you kin do that sugarcube?"
"Of course Applejack. You can count on me."
"Thank you kindly, Twi. Ah don;t know what Ah'd do without ya."
"It's no problem at all AJ. Glad to help."
