Chapter one - Wounds that never heal
Running... Away from everything. Everyone I loved, Everyone I cared... now haunting me. Where is a place for me? A place where I can stay. But I deserve this. I betrayed them. All of them. I was trying to protect HER. But I couldn’t. It’s my fault. All my fault.
These thought were running endlessly on Dark Chords head as he was walking away from his home. Hoping that somepony would stop him, but at the same time he wanted to go. He thought that he was meant to leave. He walked towards an edge of a forest. Everfree forest. Thought of going in there made him scared, but also happy. Scared to let go, but happy to be free. The forest was getting closer, but he wasn’t going to stop. He thought he could escape of what he did in there. How wrong was he. Memories never let go.
He was now standing still in the rain and looking at the forest that started just a few feet in front of him. He took a final glance behind him and then he walked into the forest. He kept moving forward. He didn’t want to stop. Timberwolves howled in the night. Dark Chord could hear creatures walking in the surrounding forest. Noises in the dark. But he didn’t look around him. He had decided to move forwards. He could just fly away, but he didn’t. He only flew with her. Now he’ll never fly again. Suddenly, he could see a light in the distance. It was from a lantern nor it was the moon. The light source wasn’t big, but the light still made the whole forest around it glow. Chord walked closer to it. When he got to it, he still couldn’t tell what it was. It looked like a butterfly, but he had never seen a glowing butterfly. He sat down and leaned against a tree. He stared at the butterfly.
“What are you doing here? Why aren’t you flying free outside the forest” He asked silently as the raindrops fell from his hooves. The butterfly flew to Chord and landed on his hoof. He stared at the butterfly confused. ‘So beautiful and so innocent’ this thought flew past like a breeze, but hit him like a brick. He accidentally waved his hoof and the butterfly flew away. When he saw the butterfly flying away, he pressed his against his hooves. ‘Why?’ this silent question was repeating inside his head. He cried. ‘WHY?!’ He yelled in his head. Then suddenly, he heard a voice. He raised his head and looked up. She was in front of him, trying to reach him with her hoof. He reached his hoof towards her and when he was about to touch her, she faded away. He lowered his head again. ‘I am going crazy. I know she can’t be here. No one can. I’m all alone here’
“WHY?!” This time he yelled it out loud. He couldn’t hold it anymore. There was a moment of silence, but that ended soon. Timberwolves started howling louder and he heard them approach, but he didn’t do anything. He took a final look at the moon in the sky and then he closed his eyes. Just when he was ready for impact, all the sounds stopped and he could only smell a horrible smell. He opened his eyes and was then looking directly in the eyes of a timberwolf. Then suddenly he got a thought ‘I have no reason to die. I AM NOT GOING TO DIE!’ he slammed his hoof as hard as he could on the timberwolves face and started running. He could hear the timberwolf running behind him, but he didn’t turn to look. He ran so fast that he could already see the edge of the forest. He ran out of the woods, but didn’t realize that timberwolf hadn’t given up yet. He turned around and he couldn’t even do anything, when suddenly a claw hit his face. He yelled, because the pain was unbearable. There he was now, laying on the ground. Unable to do anything. The timberwolf was walking slowly towards him. He could see a butterfly flying behind the timberwolf. It was the same one he saw in the forest. The timberwolf was ready for another strike. But then, Chord heard voices. He turned his head to look at the direction of the voices. He saw that there were ponies approaching him. He panicked. He forced himself to get up and he tried to run past the timberwolf back in the forest, but he was stopped by another strike from the timberwolfs claw. He fell back on the ground and the voices were really close now. H couldn’t figure out what they were saying but the timberwolf ran away. Someponys hoof grabbed him and turned him around. He could now see worried magenta eyes looking straight in his eyes. Then, the pony ran to say something to the lavender coated one. Now, he had his chance, when the others were chasing the timberwolf. He slowly stood up and tried to not make a noise. The wounds hurt bad. He slowly started walking toward the forest, but stopped when he saw a lavender unicorn in front of him. ‘This is my defeat. Ha. What a life did I have.’ He thought and didn’t want to continue. He fell on the ground and closed his eyes.

‘Am I still alive?’ Chord asked from himself as he opened his eyes. He didn’t know if he should be happy or sad. He wasn’t in a hospital room. This place looked more like a library. He scanned the room around him and he couldn’t see anyone so he stood up. ‘What is this place?’ He started to walk around the building that he had identified as a library. First he walked to kitchen and that was where his journey ended when he saw a lavender mare reading there. The lavender mare raised her head and smiled at Chord.
“It looks like you woke up finally. Are you hungry?” The mare asked and wasn’t even offended about him sneaking around.
“What do you mean ‘finally’?” He asked and didn’t even try to sound nice. He didn’t want her to think that he was thankful.
“You’ve been asleep for three days now.” The mare responded and grabbed a bag from the shelf. “Bread?” She looked at him and waved the bag. Chord still didn’t respond to mares question.
“Where am I?”
“Calm down. Everything is fine.” The mare started making sandwiches even without your answer.
“Where am I?!” Chord raised his volume. The mare kept making the sandwiches.
“You’re in Ponyville library which is also my home. I will answer to all of your questions when we are eating. Dandelions?” She asked without even turning to look at him.
Chord sighed loudly.

Now the two ponies are sitting on the library table. Other one is enjoying the sandwich, the other one is just looking at it.
“Why?” Chord asked and poked his sandwich.
“What why?” The mare asks confused.
“Why did you save me?” This question made the mare smile a little.
“We? We saved you because we didn’t want you to be that timberwolfs meal.” The mare responded and seems to be kind of amused by the question.
“But you don’t even know me.”
“True. What is your name?” The mare asks in pure interest. Chord thought a couple seconds if he should respond.
“Dark Chord. And you are?” The mare smiled.
“Twilight Sparkle.”
