Twilight's purple eyes slowly opened as she felt herself breath in the clean air inside the battlements
She sat up from sleeping on the floor and looked around; everyone was still in deep slumber. She took
note of how everything seemed so peacful today and happy, although this was an arena mission, one in
which death resulted into no return.
The purple unicorn looked at her leather watch, it read 0600 in big white digital numbers. The pony
let out a sigh, quietly walked to the wooden closet, grabbed her gear and walked out of the battlements. She
pulled out a plate and fork from her backpack (The Cozy Camper) and put some hay lying around
nearby on her plate. While holding her plate with her right hoof, she grabbed her backpack with
her left hoof and walked outside to the balcony where she layed her backpack against the makeshift
wall. She sat on the ledge of the balcony with her hind legs hanging as she began eating breakfast.
The mare slowly looked across the water and at the outside of the BLU fort. She scanned for
any place Trixie could fire from when the battle started while she continued her meal. She saw
a hole that was in the BLU Team's makeshift wall. It was big enough for Trixie to stick her rifle
through and easily kill without much of a risk.I'll just tell Zecora to put a sticky bomb trap there
she thought to herself. Or I could try and pull off a 'Saving Pony Ryan' and shoot her through her
scope... Nah, too risky. What if I get Spike to shoot at her with his rocket launcher then? Maybe
thats too much overkill. Then again, you can never be-
The unicorn's thoughts were interrupted by a soft familiar voice.
"Hey there Twilight" said Fluttershy as she walked twords the purple mare.
"Hi Fluttershy, whats up?" Replied Twilight.
"Oh nothing, just saying hi. Oh, but wait, here are those painkillers I was talking about. you should
take them you take them if you ever get hurt, if thats okay with you."
"Sure, why not?"
Fluttershy nodded as she tossed the blue bottle of pills to Twilight, who caught it and put it in her backpack.
"Thanks, anything else you need?"
"Nothing right now, but if you need something I will be downstairs in the Intelligence room
feeding Archemedes, you can visit me anytime, if you want."
Twilight nodded as while Fluttershy smiled sweetly and proceded to go about her buisness.
The purple unicorn held her gaze at where the set of vibrant cyan eyes used to be.
I haven't seen her ever smile like that to me before... Maybe because she never wakes up this early... she pondered before shaking it off shortly after.
The unicorn got up and stood over her backpack, taking a brush out of it and flattening any part of her mane that wasn't perfectly straight, placed the brush back and put on her hat, however she didn't put on the glasses just yet. She wiped any hay still on the plate off the balcony, in which she put the silverware and plate back in its place. She walked back into the fort without her backpack this time, and thought a bit on what Fluttershy said. She did have some questions to ask a few people, Fluttershy being a Medic was especially important. The mare walked down the long steps that lead into
the intelligence room when she spotted Fluttershy pulling out a small sack of birdseed to Archemedes who was sitting in his cage. They were by the huge glass window and infront of the desk that the Intelligence sat on.
"Come on Archemedes, it took me forever to get this birdseed, you will love it I promise!"
"Fluttershy?" Twilight quietly said trying not to scare the yellow pegasus for once in her life.
Of course, it would be in vein. Although fluttershy didn't squeak or squeal, she did turn around fast with a startled look on her face before she was relieved that Twilight had taken up on her offer.
"Oh, um, hi Twilight, what brings you here?" she questioned as she turned aroud to feed Archemedes.
"Well, I had some questions I wanted to ask the Team, but I feel like I should ask you first." Twilight
answered with a serious look.
"Uh, sure, whats going on?"
"Well, for one thing, don't you ever get tired of... Well... Killing other ponies, while at the same time seeing your own friends die infront of you?"
Fluttershy stopped feeding Archemedes, turned around and sat on the leather chair behind the desk. She looked blankly at the floor searching for a valid answer before she spoke.
"Uhm, really, we have done this for so long, even though I don't like it very much it's kind of like our job, Twilight. Atleast
thats how I feel. I mean, I get to save lives, I don't kill like the rest of you do, I simply make sure you don't die. And the worst thing that can happen is when I fail to do that." The yellow pony slowly but surely got the words out.
"I see..." Twilight quietly said.
The silence seemed like hours, but it was only half a minute before Twilight leaned on the desk.
"I don't even hate the ponies we kill...I don't even know why we are fighting, have we even seen whats inside of the Intelligence anyway?" Twilight atiquatley stated
"Isn't that Rarity's job?" Fluttershy reassured.
"Thats a good point, but can we even trust Rarity? You and I both have had bad times with spies, for all we know she could be that Changeling that almost killed Spike yesterday."
"You have a good point, but if anything goes wrong I am pretty sure we can handle it."
"Okay. Seems fair enough...I guess. Anyway for the second question now." She paused looking for the right words.
"Do you ever have nightmares, nightmares where the entire team is dead, and your the only one alive? Big Mac told me about them yesterday, he said... He said you were no-where to be found in the dream."
Fluttershy really didn't know how to respond to that, in all honesty. She was horrified by the notion of her dying, let alone being captured and/or tortured.
"W-well, I can't say that I have. My dreams are similar, however only one person ever dies... The person I care about the most... And I know you hate feelings...But I do...I..." She stopped talking as Twilight looked at her with a very serious face while her arms were crossed. "T-...Twilight, I know today is a big and very risky day. But if anything happens, all I want you to know is that... Is that... You are the on-"
WHIP!
Fluttershy was cut off by a peculiar figure slapping her with a fancy sidearm. Fluttershy fell unconcious to the left of the chair.
"WHA-"
SHHK!
Twilight was cut off by feeling as if her stomach had exploded. She was in pure shock. A black glove holding a knife had stabbed her in her stomach. She fell over with both hooves on her wound, blood was quickly staining her shirt.
"Ladies. Sorry to... 'Pop in' unnanounced."
Twilight curled up into a fetal position holding her wound while the familiar figure walked past her.
Twilight looked up, and saw something that put her into even a more deeper state of shock.
It was the Changeling.
The Changeling adjusted her tie, and holstered her silver revolver (The Ambassador) into her suit while still holding the
bloody knife in the opposite hoof. She deeply resembled rarity, she even talked like her if it wasn't for her black skin and oddly blue-ish curled transparent mane and tail she wouldn't be any different. She inhaled her cigarette and exhailed before she spoke.
"How heartwarming. We have a quite educated, yet a foolish coward laying like a foal, while her girlfriend can't even
heal a papercut." The Changeling said with no emotion as she did a twirl with her butterfly knife and put it into her suit to use later.
"Y-...You...D-d-dir...Dirty...S-...Snake..." Twilight stuttered much in pain and shock. Her face was clear of all emotions, she had just a blank expression.
"Save it darling, you wouldn't have survived today anyway. You think, you really think you can walk inside our base and
take my hard worked Intelligence without retribution? Did you really think it was this hard to get into your base? Your
engineer is an illiterate fool with a wrench. Your scout is just a filly with a bat. And worst of all, your spy is a disgrace
with a cheap suit and a butter knife. I am merely finishing what your team started."
The changeling walked right over Twilight and grabbed the intelligence with her right hoof. She pulled out her fancy revolver with her left hoof, and walked to where she had been standing before. Setting down the intelligence, she loaded a single bullet into the chamber as she continued to mockingly speak.
"I hope you feel every sad human who thinks you are the best ponies cry as I put this bullet with your name on it to where
its supposed to have been all this time." The Changeling insulting Bronies around Earth as she closed the chamber and cocked
the hammer with the barrell pointing right at the unicorn's head. Twilight, defeated, closed her eyes and accepted her fate.
"Roses are red, violets are blue, the real spy strikes again,"
BAM!
The sound came so sudden, it made Twilights ears ring. She didn't feel any different, she assumed her death was quick and painless, and now she had joined her fallen teammates in pony heavan.
"...Right behind you." Came the same voice.
Twilight didn't bother to open her eyes or look up.
"Let this be a lesson for you, my hideous doppleganger."
This time however, Twilight opened her eyes and saw a body of the Changeling lying on the floor, and by the steps infront of them she saw the same figure with a purple mane and tail. While holstering her own fancy revolver, she quickly walked twords her fallen comerads. Her white face cringed up as she saw the blood on the purple mare's hooves.
"My apologies, I couldn't have came downstairs fast enough to prevent your injuries, friend. Where is Fluttershy?" Rarity
questioned with concern.
"S-She is...Is...B-behind the d-desk..." Twilight barely made out the words due to the pain.
"Okay... Relax darling, you will make it through this incident, I have been hunting that disfigured mess for weeks."
Soon after, Rainbow Dash came running downstairs with her Scattergun.
"Woah woah woah! What happened?!" She shouted as she spotted Twilight layed on the floor with the dead changeling next to her.
"This imposter stabbed Twilight and knocked Fluttershy unconcious in an attempt to take the Intelligence." Rarity explained as she pointed to the dead Changeling.
"We gotta get these two back in the battlements,come help me get them there Rarity!"
Rainbow Dash carried Fluttershy who was still unconcious while Rarity helped Twilight on her hooves and began walking with her upstairs to the Barracks.
When they got there, Applejack, Big Mac, Pinkie Pie, Spike and Zecora took to battle stations while Rarity and Rainbow Dash watched over the recovery of the two, as they bandaged both the stab wound and the broken nose as best they could.

Fluttershy barely felt Rainbow Dash poking her face in an attempt to waker her up.
"Darling, stop that, it's not going to make much of a difference." Rarity stated as she took off her mask.
"Fine... But shes gotta wake up soon to fix herself and the egghead, its almost start-up time." The rainbow-maned pegasus replied.
"Why don't you check up on Applejack for me dear? She said she needed help with a few things."
"Okay." Rainbow Dash walked outside the Resupply Room.
Rarity thought for a second, and her normal face dropped to a frown.
Ugh, I hate that...Disgusting...But I suppose its a last resort for now...She thought to herself.
Rarity walked to the wooden closet and picked up a spare jar of Jarate. She shuttered from even touching the jar, and returned to stand infront of Fluttershy who was laying on a bench.
Here goes nothing...
Rarity opened the jar of Jarate, and tossed the liquid onto Fluttershy who woke up with a suprisingly normal sounding gasp.
"Rarity!? WHY!?" Fluttershy questioned in horror as she arose quickly with her hands out disgusted.
"Your awake now...Right?" The white unicorn responded as she herself felt ashamed by the take action.
"But... But... Ewww!"
"Oh stop pouting, I have been doused with that a regretful amount of times... Anyway, Twilight is outside sitting on the balcony, she got stabbed while you were unconcious so it might be wise to heal her before this day starts."
"Oh, that poor pony...I'll get on it right away."
"Oh, and here, you might want to heal that broken nose of yours." Rarity suggested as she tossed Fluttershy a small mirror.
Fluttershy suprised by the sudden toss barely caught the mirror, and looked at her face. She had tape on her nose and it had some dry blood surrounding it. No matter, her Medigun could make quick work of this small injury. The pegasus got up and grabbed her medigun from the wooden closet, and healed herself. She took a look again in the mirror, her face was back to its pretty self. She smiled softly and put the mirror on the bench and walked outside the Resupply Area leaving Rarity to modify her Sappers.
She took a left turn to the balcony, and there sitting in the spot just like she had this morning was Twilight, holding her stomach.
Bzzzz
Twilight felt her wound slowly decreasing in pain until she couldn't feel it anymore. Without turning to look at her, Twilight spoke.
"Hi again, Fluttershy." The unicorn didn't show much emotion with those words.
"Hi Twilight...Something wrond?" The pegasus responded cautiously.
"Yea...I can't believed that happened...How did we not see it coming?"
"Don't blame yourself. She could have killed us without a single word, and we wouldn't be speaking to eachother now."
"I guess...I mean, I...I was just so scared to die for good this time..."
Twilight really knew what was wrong. She remembered the exact words of the changeling.
Fool. Coward.
Your girlfriend can't even heal a papercut.
Your girlfriend.
"Twilight, I have a message from Celestia, finally am I right?" Spike came walking to the balcony. Fluttershy gladly overhealed him as he nodded in respect.
"Oh, yes, yes let me see it then." The purple mare finally speaking after her long train of thought.
"Here." He handed Twilight a scroll similar to those she used to write to Princess Celestia back when they were still in Equestria.
The unicorn opened the scroll and began reading aloud into her radio so everyone could hear her.
My dearest student Twilight Sparkle, I have extremely important news for you regarding the past months.
I know you and your friends were sent to strange lands, and you are all confused. I also know you have been put to the test in fighting the 'BLU team.' However, there is more. Discord has been freed once again, and this time he has corrupted my sister. Nightmare Moon is back, and she assembled a squad to strike key locations. These are the ponies you have and still are fighting. It is vital you do two things to stop the advance in this so called BLU team, or equestria will fall under the dark rule of Discord.
You MUST do the following in this match.
1. Eliminate everyone on the BLU team. Death here means death forever unless you win the match. If either team wins the match, their casualties will be brought back to life and they will be returned to Equestria.
2. Take the BLU intelligence. In case you don't know, the BLU intelligence are hundreds of spells which all are small fragments that lead to the restoration of my sister's mind. Even if you win today without taking the intelligence, you will not have completely defeated Discord, therefore leaving a key opportunity.
I know that you are all heroes deep down inside. I am counting on you to stop Discord once and for all here, and I know you can do it. Remember what you learned in Ponyville.

Twilight sparkle chuckled at that P.S. She remembered what a sense of humor Princess Celestia had when it came to saving the world.
With everyone responding as a sign they heard, Twilight turned her radio off for the time being.
"Well thats nothing new, right?" Spike exclaimed as Twilight stood up and gave the scroll to the dragon.
"I suppose not. However, this isn't going to be easy for any of us. We have to be ready for anything." Twilight reassured as she grabbed her backpack from where it had been sitting this whole time.
"I agree. We should check on everyone now, if you want." Fluttershy suggested.
"Yes, good idea. C'mon spike, lets check on Applejack first."
The trio walked to the right of the Resupply Area and walked downstairs.
Right across from the doorway, Applejack was working on her Level 2 Sentry while she had Rainbow Dash carry a Teleporter upstairs.
"Howdy y'all, can I do something for ya?" Applejack said as she fixed some wires that were out of place on her Sentry.
"Hi Applejack, we were just doing a checkup before set-up time starts, is everything alright?" The purple unicorn questioned.
"Hmm... Come to think of it, I do reckon I could use Pinkie Pie here to make sure none of them snakes mess with my here machienery."
"Good thinking. Were is Pinkie by the way?"
"I believe she was messin' around with Zecora down in the Intelligence room, y'all."
"Okay, thanks."
"My pleasure."
The trio walked downstairs to the Intelligence room where they saw Pinkie Pie talking while Zecora was sitting on the steps to the Resupply Room.
"And so I said 'I HATE THE COLOR PINK!' " Pinkie Pie nearly shouted as they began to laugh histericaly. Twilight even cracked a smile at the thought of Pinkie Pie hating the color Pink.
"Pinkie Pie?" Fluttershy said as they approached the two.
"Yes?"
"Applejack said she needs you to make sure no spies get close to her stuff."
"Jawhol mein fuhrer!" Zecora and Pinkie laughed even harder as Pinkie walked past the three and up the stairs to where Applejack was setting up.
"You too, Zecora, we will need everyone to be ready, set-up time begins in about five minutes" Spike reminded as he tried not to laugh at how Pinkie responded to Fluttershy.
"Okay, I shall be ready for the fray." Zecora promised as she stood up.
"By the way, have you seen Big Macintosh?" Twilight pondered.
"He's in the Resupply Room above, cleaning his Iron Curtain. However, with Rarity in there, I think he is flirting." Zecora said as she gave a wink and walked up the stairs.
"Well, times wasting, lets move." Spike said as they began to go back to the Resupply Room when they were cut off at the wooden steps by Rarity.
"Oh, hello you three. Spike, Rainbow Dash said she needs your help with something, she's downstairs with Pinkie and Applejack." Rarity told Spike as she herself walked downstairs.
"Oh okay, see ya around guys" Spike exclaimed to the other two while he followed Rarity.
The two said their goodbyes and walked into the Resupply Room were Big Mac was spinning his barell with one hoof while he sat on a bench.
"Hey Big Mac, ready for today?" Twilight asked as they stood infront of him.
"Eeyup" Big Mac replied with great repitition.
"Is there anything you need, anything at all?" Asked Fluttershy.
Big Mac pulled out his sandvitch with the hoof he had been spinning the barell with and said:
"Nope."
"Alrighty then, everyone is down stairs, set-up time in one minute." Twilight reminded Big Mac as they walked out of the Resupply Room and walked down the wooden stairs to chat with the others before the announcer began speaking.
Mission begins in sixty seconds.
"Alright everyone, lets go kick some tail!" Rainbow Dash shouted as everyone took their positions. Zecora set some sticky bombs around the left doorway while Rainbow Dash leaned against the second doorway. Rarity was with Twilight who walked to the balcony, Rarity being the first to leave the fort when the siren ran. Big Mac ran downstairs to guard the sewer entrance. Pinkie Pie stayed with Applejack who had a sentry in the room behind Zecora. Spike stayed downstairs to guard the Intelligence.
"Everypony ready?" Shouted Applejack in the radio.
Mission begins in ten seconds.
Everyone let out their own unique yeah's and yep's in the radio.
Five. Four. Three. Two. One.
WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWW
