King Stargazer rules the land of Atlantica, a seafaring town beyond Equestria. When a mysterious young filly appears in the wake of a thunderstorm, Stargazer decides to raise her as his own. But when the newcomer starts displaying dangerous powers beyond those of any previous pegasus pony, suspicions are raised as to her true nature. Dark secrets about her King's past begin to come to light as the mare realizes that her destiny is tied to that of all Atlantica and the vast ocean on which it lies. With the help of a dashing colt who seems to know more than he reveals, Starstruck must ignore the nightmares surfacing from her foalhood and face the return of her father's oldest and most powerful foe. Is she to become a hero of pony folklore, or will she give in to forces beyond her control as her world is turned upside down?
