Aboard the UNSC Infinity Captain Thomas Lasky was on the bridge staring out into the nothingness of slip space it had been  7 years since he was made Captain of this beautiful ship. He had never hopped of commanding a ship of this size, the thousands of people on board and his own savoir the master chief.
But it was also a Burden. Being trusted with this ship he had to do his job damn well or face the wrath of Admiral Parangosky, and no one wanted to face her. In those 7 years the Spartans did their work on Requiem until there was no more Covenant or Promethean's to deal with.
The Infinity had left that planet 3 years ago and kept searching for more of the halo rings and searching for the last remains of the old Covenant. After the Arbiter found about Requiem and what the old Covenant were doing there he went into a rage and took all his remaining ships and set out to find the remaining Covenant and glassing any planets that held them.
He had no more mercy to give he was fed up with how his once fellow brothers returning to old beliefs, even if they had a different objective in mind. Now there were barley any that remained as the arbiter had scared many away from joining and showing his people that humans were not the enemy and never should have been.
As Thomas was on the bridge he thought to take a walk he had been on the bridge far too long “Roland could you look after the bridge for me I’m going to take a walk." he said to the joyful A.I
   “No problem sir actually I was about to suggest that myself actually you don’t look very lively maybe you should go to bed for a few hours as well everything's all good here and we are not expecting any trouble anytime soon and ill wake you if  anything… interesting happens”.
The Captain mused for a second 'Roland is very capable of handling the infinity and I haven’t gotten very much sleep lately.' “actually that sounds like a good idea thanks Roland."
“The infinity isn't the only thing I’m supposed to look out for." he replied with a smile.
Thomas returned the smile then turned out the door to his quarters and thought
'ever since the end of the war a smart A.I’s life span was about 15 years the new tech helped a lot he didn't know what he would do if he didn't have Roland there to handle tasks and make suggestions but Roland was more than an A.I he had become a good friend with the Captain and many of the bridge crew.'
“Roland what would I do without you?” he whispered to himself. Once Thomas had finally walked through the corridors and halls he finally got to his quarters he took his uniform off and sat on his bed staring at the wall for a second in thought “just going to take a nap what could possibly go wrong?”
He shook his head and then lay down and after a few minutes he drifted off to sleep.
He awoke with a jolt as Roland yelled over his room’s com's “Captain we are experiencing an EMP from an unknown source from inside the ship what do me to do?”
“Are we still inside slip space?” Thomas replied
“yes” Roland said, “do you want me to exit I think that would be the best choice.”
“Yes just make sure that we don't end up inside a planet ”.
“on it sir” Roland replied and Thomas could feel his stomach get queasy from the slip space to real space transition
“Roland after were stable find out what the hell happened and get it fixed please.”
“Yes sir” the A.I replied. Unknown to anyone on board the ship this was going to be one hell of a day.
Twilight sparkle was getting ready to meet with her friends for a day filled with… well eating, it had been a while since she last pigged out with her friends at Apple jacks farm and just have a darn good time altogether she had been cooped up in her library far too long and she needed to get out and have some fun.
But before all that fun she had to go get Fluttershy she grabbed her things and calmly walked along the cobblestone road through town greeting a few ponies as they walked by.
She finally got to the dirt road that lead to the cottage that the mare named Fluttershy and crossed the bridge she hoped that Fluttershy wouldn't put up a fuss even though she agreed to come two days ago things pop up animals get hurt or sick or something silly like angle doesn't have his cherry on top of his meal. As she walked up to the door she heard Fluttershy speaking to one of her animals something about letting it stay a night at her place. Twilight knocked on the door earning a small squeak from inside which made twilight grin.
Fluttershy opened up the door a crack peeking her eye out as she saw twilight and remembered about meeting AJ at the farm before she rushed upstairs  she let twilight in and told her that she would be right back she ran and grabbed her things and rushed back downstairs.
As Twilight waited she saw a few animals around the house and heard Fluttershy rummaging through her things and when she came back she greeted Fluttershy properly “Hi Fluttershy did you forget about the picnic were having at AJ’s place?”
“I’m so sorry I really didn't mean to its just that Mr. Rabbit couldn't find a place to stay for the night because his house got uprooted when a tree fell down in the forest please forgive me.”
“Fluttershy it’s perfectly fine. I don’t think we're late, also that’s why I left early I thought you might be caught up in something. Anyway we should hurry just in case."
“Ok” was all Fluttershy had to say as they walked off to Apple Acres.
When they got to the farm they met up with Apple jack, Rainbow dash, Rarity, and of course Pinkie pie. Rarity was the first to trot up and ask “where’s Spike?”
“He’s just at the library doing chores and reading he said he just ate so he wasn't hungry.”
“Oh that’s odd.” she replied
“usually yes but he’s been helping me with my late night studies and it has taken a toll on the little guy.”
“Ohh that makes more sense I thought he’d given up on me.” Rarity said with a laugh “And how are you doing Fluttershy?"
“oh just wonderful.” she said happily.
   Apple jack and Rainbow dash trotted over to them and greeted them before Apple jack told them that Pinkie was acting a little strange lately “well isn't Pinkie pie always acting strange?”  Twilight asked.
   “Ya Pinkies always weird," Rainbow chimed in “but this is really really weird she’s just been mumbling to herself since she got here its kinda creep…” she was cut off as a scream came from Pinkie pie followed by uncontrollable spasms that put her into very unnatural positions then she just stopped and got up as if nothing had happened and said
“there’s going to be a rip in space!”
They all just stared at her dumbfounded at what just happened. Then Twilight said
“Pinkie I know your pinkie sense can tell some things but a rip in space? I don’t think that is even possible. Even if it is, how something could do such a thing I mean all the magic you would need to do that? It's pretty much imposs….."
She was cut off as a black darker than anything she had seen before tore into existence it was huge!
She thought that was all but then something a lot bigger and possibly even more dangerous came out, something that would change Equestria forever for better or for worse...
