Here we go guys! 1/8/13.
It wasn't easy being one of the best in the military. Such responsibilities that gives. Ever since the world leaders have come together, all the soldiers, no matter what Corps you were in, everyone is now just loafing around. To be honest, i actually LIKED the fighting. It let me release my stress. The leaders have made this alliance a while back, about 4 years ago. Before this, I was a Colonel in the United States Army. I was put on nearly every mission that involved high value targets. I was quickly known, and was not forgotten. I received a message in the Mail yesterday. All it said was to go to the Capital. I had no idea what this meant, but I followed orders. Orders are Orders. Gotta' follow them. We also had reserved fuel for the military. Since we had to go to space because we wanted to, that obviously puts a lot of our gas on the line.
The message that i received in the mail told me to get there by 5:00 Eastern Time. It was roughly 4:30 P.M. I got into my Humvee and drove off. The drive was not that far, considering i was hanging at Joint Base Anacostia -Bolling. An Air Force base about 3 miles from the Capital. It did not take more than a few minutes to get there. I dismounted the Humvee and walked up to the entrance. When there, I saluted the guard, showed him my ID, and walked in. The message said that I was to meet on the third floor, room 302. I walked along the hallways until I reached the elevators. I stepped inside and noticed a familiar face.
"Felix?" I asked. I was slightly relieved to see him. One familiar face in this colossal amount of people.
He looked over and noticed me. A smile quickly came to his face. "Hey Brandon! What are you doing here at the Capitol?" He asked.
"I don't exactly know. I received a message just telling me to come here at 5 o'clock. I'm going to room 302. You"
?That's strange, I am going to room 302 as well. This can't be good"
"Yeah. Hope it's not a demotion or something" I said cracking a smile.
The elevator slowed to a stop on the third floor, and we got out. Felix and I walked along the hallway, passing civilians who immediately saluted us. Felix was a First Lieutenant in the Army, about 6'2", 18, and has a record of his own. He saved the lives of his squadmates, thus earning him rank of First. His weapon choice would vary between pistols and sniper rifles. My choice was a standard M4A1, extended mag, armor-piercing rounds, holographic sight and black standard camo. My sidearm would definitively be an M9. As we neared room 302, we saw two guards blocking the door. We walked up to the door.
"ID Sirs." One of them said blankly. Felix and I looked at each other before we nodded, and got out our ID's. The one that told us to get them out looked them over before allowing us access into the room. They both saluted as we walked in. Inside the room were four other soldiers, along with a couple Generals, who we saluted instantly.
"At ease, men" One of the Gen. said. "Take a seat" We took our seats next to the others.
The lead General began,
"Now, you are all most likely wondering why you are here. Is that correct?" A series of nods came from us all, "We will get to that in a moment, but allow me to introduce my self. My name is General Smith. While in here, you have permission to speak freely. What we are about to ask of you is a high honor, and yet a great responsibility. Now, you all have expert experience on the field. That is the main reason why we called upon you all. Warrant Officer Green here was honored for his heroic acts in the fields of Iraq, many years ago. While in Iraq, Green suffered heavy wounds from a sniper round that lodged itself into his chest, breaking a few ribs. But, he did that at a great cost. Sacrificing himself for others, bravery. We choose you for this mission." He turned to another soldier, "Second Lieutenant Wagner. You have been selected for this mission for your expertise in not messing around. Wagner follows orders. That is what we need." He turned to yet another soldier in the group, "Major Mason. You have been selected for this mission for your ability to not back down in stressful situations. It's always good to have you on the front-line's." This time, he turned over to Felix. "First Lieutenant Fernandes, you show a great magnitude of bravery. Almost sacrificing yourself for your squad mates as well. Another Great perk to have. Always willing to put your life on the line for others." He then turned to another man, "Chief Warrant Officer 2 Victor. You do whatever is told, very agile, and great stamina. always great." Then lastly, he turned to me. "Ah, Colonel Duffy. One of the best men in the United Stated Army. You sir, are very determined to get the job done, under any circumstances possible. Unnerved by stress, calm during battle, and one of our most trusted men in the entire military." After the long speech, we all had questions. I was the first to speak.
"Sir, what does any of this have to do with us?" I asked, folding my arms.
"Well, you six are the best in the US Military, that is why we chose you all"
Green spoke up, "What exactly is this mission, sir?"
"This is one of our most important missions of all time. Are you all familiar with Universal Domination? The plan to take over the universe?" He asked. We all shifted in our seats, but nodded our heads anyways.
"Well than. Your mission is very similar. Except you six will be in charge of conquering a single planet. All by yourselves. I know this sounds rough, but we have done some extensive research about this planet." As he said that, everyone's eyes in the room had gone wide, except for General Smith.
"What! How can you expect us, just six soldiers, to take out an entire planet!" Yelled Felix.
"I have already told you why we have chosen you for this operation. You all show great combat skills, leadership skills, and survival skills. Who would be any better for this?"
Felix didn't answer.
Smith looked at the clock on the wall. "Alright. I have to be somewhere soon. As of right now, there is no going back. You are all assigned to conquer this measly little planet. You all will be given ranks of WMD. Human Weapons of Mass Destruction. Your code names, for example, would be something similar to this: WMD-R. The 'R' stands for my first name, Richard. For your names, the first letter in your names will be hyphenated after WMD, giving you your code name. You all are now the highest rank in the whole military. Good luck" He said. He walked over to his desk and grabbed out a file that read: Classified. On the front.
He tossed it on the table, as we got up. He got to the door, turned around and saluted us. We saluted right back. As he started for the door, he turned to the six of us and said,
"WMD-B will be your CO for this operation." With that, he left the war room, leaving us to discuss briefing.
I sat back down and took the folder and opened it up. On the first page was the operation title. I read aloud so my team could hear.
"Operation Conquest" I said, smiling at the name.
"Alright guys. I am not one to mess around much, I am used to getting the job done. Now, it seems we each have specific roles in this planet we are going to attack." I said as the rest of the WMD's sat down. "It seems that there are inhabitants of this world...what? Guys, you may want to take a look at this." I said, throwing the open page in the middle of the table, allowing my men to observe what the actual inhabitants are. A look of surprise came upon the WMD's faces.
"Really? This operation might just be easy after all. " Green announced.
However, others were not taking this so well,
"Why should we kill a race of mere ponies? It just doesn't seem right." Wagner said.
I butted in. "Orders are orders, men. I don't make them. We follow them." I took back the envelope and began to read. After reading a few important details, it seems that this race isn't just innocent. They have had a war, but that was many many years in the past.
I read aloud, "Surveillance shows us that the inhabitants are ruled by a Dictatorship. Being ruled by two monarchs. Planet known as Equestria, has little army, mostly made up of ponies in golden armor. Presumably guards for the crown. Should not be too much of an opposition. Upon further surveillance, six ponies pose as 'Elements', and have many powers. When united, a powerful blast shoots at the foe, nearly killing it, forcing it to surrender. Be cautious of these six ponies. Avoid any extended contact with them."
"Why do we need to know about these ponies?" Questioned Victor.
"Because, there is more about them that we need to know. It says that we need to immediately befriend these ponies. They have powers that can wipe out almost anything, so it would probably be a good idea to. We don't want to see hostile. This doesn't make any sense: Befriend these six ponies, but stay away from them at all costs? Whatever"
"Great. Just let them know that we are there friends, not enemies, and just avoid them like we have things to do. Do we have to do any recon?" Spoke up Mason.
"Actually yes. We are to recon whenever we can to get information on what their weaknesses are." I kept reading until I found something important, "Says here that we need to make friends with the princess. Becoming friends with the princess will provide no suspicion towards us...so that our mission cannot be compromised. Any questions?"
"What exactly are we supposed to to there, other than spy on the six and befriend the princess?"
"Once becoming friends, we are to gain access to documents aboutthe secrets of Equestria, get to know how things work, so we take it down from the inside out."
"When do we launch?" Asked Carey (Victor)
"Tomorrow"
