The time for Evil is approaching and insanity is on its way. There is no escape, No escape.
I awoke in the middle of the night and I couldn't get back to sleep. I decided to go for a walk so I left the house into the dark Village. Outside I could barely make out where everything was because it was pitch black. Soon I saw a set of stairs leading up to the lighthouse. The lighthouse was made so the Pegasi coming in during the night could see where they were going. We lived in a small village named Sky Town. Sky Town was probably one of the most beautiful places in Equestria; it was nice calm relaxing and a perfect spot for a quiet vacation.
Sky town, unlike Cloudsdale, was built on a large cliff. The town was made from cloud and behind it on the cliff was a spectacular waterfall; it was also a fun place where you can go for a dive down to the lake below. For those who can't fly there was a large tunnel carved into the stone; it was amazing how such a long Tunnel could have been calved in such a steep cliff in only one week without collapsing; they engineers were very talented. At the top next to the waterfall was where it came up to, the cave was perfectly carved with torches and all.
The cave also had other tunnels in it, but only limited tunnels were open for Public Access. One of the most significantly know tunnels was the Library of Sky Town; I could go lecturing on for hours about the different books in the Library, over half of the books in that library was about classical Sky Town, there was also a lot of history books, there were also books on what Sky Town was build for, by who, their techniques and pretty much everything about how it got here. It was a library of many books; even the original scrolls and blueprints were in this Library, but of course in a highly protected room in which only Extreeme Trustees could go into.
All residents over eighteen are trustees, but also many under eighteen. To be a trustee you are required to sign a document saying that you are trustworthy, and you must prove your trust. Residents over 18 must be trustees. Trustees must never do any harm to any delicate or important documents, artifacts or landmarks. Some of the largest Landmarks were the 12, 000 year old Shrines of the original king and queen of Skytown, the 1800 year old Tree, the cloud bridge across the lake and the lighthouse.
The lighthouse was made from mostly cloud; it was powered by gas and flame. There was always somepony in the lighthouse watching for incoming Pegasus to keep a log of who enters the town. I guess you could call them the sentry, they watched to make sure nopony evil or banned from the town came. If somepony not welcome came they would ring the bell alarming the town. The light was powered by kerosene; the stock normally lasted around 8 hours before it had to be replenished. That was good, because that was about how long the light stayed on for.
Only trustees could enter the Lighthouse. Inside there were three major rooms: the kerosene stockpile, completely off limits from the public for obvious reasons, the room was made from cement and wood so the kerosene wouldn't sink into the clouds in the case a barrel had a leakage. There was the Library, which contained most information about the lighthouse, all the logs of who enters the town, and who is on shift, and finally the light room where the ‘Kerosene-Powered Light’ (or the KPL) is.
The lighthouse was always lit during the night, but strangely tonight the lighthouse was not lit. I entered the light room noticing that the pony that was supposed to be watching making sure all the flame stayed lit was asleep. I lit a torch and noticed it was my older brother Kane Jump who was taking the shift. I walked over to him and shook him in attempt to wake him up. I whispered "Kane, Kane, wake up Kane." He didn't wake. I then went down the stairs to the Lighthouse Library in hope to find the instructions of how to light the lighthouse. Despite my Efforts it lacked the information i required. I then walked out and back up to the light room where Kane was still sleeping.
I only just realized the state of his sleep. He wasn't exactly dead, but he looked like a drowsing solution has been forced down his throat. It was so obvious; I still can't believe I missed it the first time. I then noticed that there was a metal leaver connected to the side of the light. With my hoof I pulled it down causing immediate light to shine revealing a light away from Sky Town.
The flame was lit and the lighthouse was working; now all I needed to do was to find a way to wake up my brother and figure out who put him to sleep and why. I knew this wasn't a good reason to ring the bell, because i didn't have enough evidence to prove my theory. I also knew that if somepony forced sleep potion down his throat without him ringing the bell and squirming intruder, it must have been someone he had trusted. Someone in which he would least expect.
In the corner of my eye I saw a red first-aid kit up on a shelf. I decided to see if I could wake him. I pulled myself up, and barely made it up to it, then I glided down, but since the kit was too heavy for my wings to support, I landed with a thud. My brother immediately awoke to the sound. He yawned.
“What hap…? Circuit, what are you doing here at this time of night?”
“I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep and I noticed the lighthouse unlit.”
“Then why didn't you tell anypony?”
“I didn't want to wake them.”
“Then why didn't you wake me?”
“I tried; you were put to sleep with a drowsing solution.”
“How did you come to that assumption?”
“Because you were sleeping and you never sleep while working. Also, when I entered the room I saw a flask.”
Kane then saw the flask. He picked it up. Smelt it, and then put it back down.
“That is defiantly a drowsing solution, and strong one at that.”
“I think somepony was trying to smuggle somepony in without any trouble.”
“Yea, I don’t think so lil bro, but I think somepony could be trying to steal something.”
“But what would they be trying to steal?”
“Maybe they might be looking for the map of secret tunnels?”
“Oh no… I’ll go check the Library.”
“Be quick, if they find them the town is doomed. The most powerful weapon is hidden in those tunnels. There are also many other secret scrolls in there.”
I ran as fast as I could to the library. It was locked, as it should be; since I am an honorary Library member; I have a key. So I opened the door and walked in. I noticed it was quiet, maybe a little too quiet. I closed the door behind me flicking the lock; I flicked the lights on reveling thousands of books of every kind. The Library was of wood; it was 650m tall 2km wide and 1km deep. There were a total of 54, the top being locked for only the trustees.
You could see all the floors from anywhere in the Library: providing you are not standing behind a bookshelf. The top floor was like every other floor but it had bullet-proof glass so pegisi couldn't just fly in, they needed to enter through the door. I was a trustee so I could enter it, as I did to see if the scrolls were still there. They were every one of them. The Library was untouched.
Meanwhile back at the lighthouse. Kane was talking with a two strange shadowy figures.
"Who are you, what do you want with me?"
"I need to kill you?"
“Why?!"
"To forfill the Prophecy"
"What Prophecy? and why me? Why do i have to die?"
"You death is the reason for the prophecy"
"Why cant i live? Why do you have to forfil the prophecy"
"Because i can"
Kane Ran over to the bell and rang it as loud as he could. DING! DONG! DING! DONG! DING! DONG! It was four o'clock in the morning and everypony awoke running towards the lighthouse with a weapon. I ran as fast as I could, i got there before anypony else and saw them take him away. Nopony knew where Kane was or what was going to happen to him, all we knew was that he was in serious danger.
"No... Kane... no... Why?! WHY!?" i yelled. The Mayor came over to me. "What is going on Circuit Link?" She asked. "They took him! THEY TOOK AWAY MY OLDER BROTHER! They are MONSTERS! THEY ARE MONSTERS!" I cried more then I have ever before. My mother then came and lifted me with her magic and put me on her back. She then walked home and put me in bed. She sat outside with Circuit Jump and they wept for their lost son.
