The Day The Apple Fell
Previous ChapterNext ChapterTwilight woke up to the morning sun rising through her window. She turned her head over to see Applejack holding her in her forelegs. Twilight was surprised that the farmer pony was showing this sign of affection, but she wasn't in a hurry to give it up. Twilight turned her head around, heading back to sleep, happy.

"Twilight," Applejack moaned, pain filling her body. She collapsed into a heap on the ground. Her body wouldn't allow her to get up to continue. She had to get up, for the sake of Twilight. The pain increased more as she got back on her legs. "Twi...AHAAAA," she screamed, the pain slowly becoming too much for her to handle.
As she limped ever so slowly toward a direction that she could not discern, she came across her worst nightmare. There, in front of her, was Twilight laying on the ground. Applejack immediately forgot all her pain and ran towards the still unicorn, closing the remaining distance. "Twi," she began, tears beginning to fall down her face.
Applejack's legs suddenly gave out, her tears now flowing freely. "How could something like this happen to you," she said. "Twilight," she said, again and again.

Twilight woke up to see that time had passed to noon. She suddenly heard her name called out from the pony behind her. 'She must be dreaming about me. How cute,' she thought, a smile creeping onto her face. Her thoughts began to wonder what Applejack was dreaming about. That's when she got a surprise she never expected.
The farmer screamed Twilight's name, then released her bladder. The yellow fluid flowing out onto the bed below.
Twilight enjoyed the feeling that came out of Applejack. Her bed had suddenly become warm, in contrast to the cold, dark day the Pegasi of Cloudsdale made in remembrance of the 1 week anniversary of Rainbow Dash's death.
Applejack began to stir, and Twilight didn't want this moment to be awkward for the both of them, so she got up and ran to the bathroom to wash the pee off of her. As she finished, she quickly ran downstairs to prepare breakfast.
Applejack woke up to an empty bed and a warm feeling all around her. She looked down and saw that the bed was wet. Her face brightened up with a blush, hoping that Twilight hadn't been in the bed when it happened.
'That dream was so real' was all that Applejack could think while she was thinking of a plan to hide her mess.
Applejack had gotten up and started pulling the sheets off the bed when she heard Twilight knocking on the closed bedroom door. Applejack's blush came back when Twilight poked her head inside the room.
"Hey there, sleepy head. Breakfast is ready," Twilight said. "Also, just put those in the laundry room. It's by the bathroom," she said with a wink as she brought her head back out, leaving Applejack in a feeling of shock.
Applejack took the walk of shame down the stairs when she finished her business upstairs. She raised her head to see Twilight sitting on her haunches in front of the table with a smile upon her face.
"Hi Applejack," Twilight said, her smile getting larger. "Hi Twi..." Applejack mumbled quietly, her blush coming back brighter with each passing second. Twilight noticed this and began to giggle. "Embarrassed about you 'accident'," she asked. Applejack, at a loss of words, only nodded in response. "We'll talk later. Let's just eat for now," Twilight said, sitting in her chair. Applejack only nodded and sat in her chair.
No words were exchanged during the awkward breakfast, which consisted of fried hay in between toasted bread with a cup of dandelion purée. Applejack eat in silence, a deep blush on her face, while Twilight eat with a grin, making Applejack all the more embarrassed.
Applejack was the first to speak up. "Ah'm sorry, Twi," she said timidly, much like Fluttershy would. "It's ok Apple...," was all that Applejack heard before her mind trailed off back the dream she had that night. It worried her that something like that could happen to Twilight. She just had to make sure that nothing bad happens to her. 'But how,' she asked herself.
"So it's a natural thing," Applejack heard Twilight say when her mind brought her back into reality. "If you say so, Twi," she said, sadness filling her heart. Twilight noticed this, and began to feel the same feeling. "Something else is bothering you. What is it," she asked Applejack, not expecting an answer, but received one. "It's a dream I had," she said. She continued "I was in pain..."
After Applejack told Twilight her dream, she looked down at the floor, feeling ashamed of her thoughts. Twilight pondered the dream that was mentioned for a minute. She knew what it meant, and she never expected one of her best friends to like her in that way, least Applejack. 'I would have thought that Rainbow Dash would be the one to be like that,' Twilight thought.
They both remained silent, Applejack out of shame and Twilight out of surprise. "Well, ah better go. Before the farm work builds up," Applejack said, heading for the door. "Applejack," Twilight tried to say, but it was strained through her feelings. As Applejack shut the door, Twilight wondered if she did the right thing to let her just walk away.
Applejack was sweating by the time she got done with all her chores for the day. She walked over to the old gray tub that was filled with water. She took a sip and enjoyed the cool night air that promised to rain anytime. 'Its going to rain anyways' she thought. It was then that she decided to jump into the tub. "Sure is a beautiful night" she said to no one in particular. "It is, isn't it," she heard a familiar voice behind her. She couldn't say that it was surprising. She turned around and looked at the pony that said it. "I figured you wouldn't die that easily," she said sternly to the figure.
"Why don't you take off that cloak Rainbow. You look ridiculous in it," Applejack said, looking with a strange eye at the other pony. "I know," Rainbow said. She continued, "but it matches with the sky." "Well, unless ya really want to die, best tell me why your here," Applejack said.
"We may be rivals, but can't we civilized about this," Rainbow asked, sad eyes lighting up her face. "No," Applejack said sternly. "Well, in any case, I'm here to make a deal," Rainbow said, pacing around Applejack. Applejack looked angrily at Rainbow Dash. "Why would ah make a deal with the likes of you, pretending to be dead and all," she said, getting out of the tub. "Well, if you never want to see Twilight alive again," Rainbow said, a smile creeping onto her face. Applejack's expression softened quickly and she became pale from the pegasus's words. "W-well, perhaps w-we can t-talk about this i-inside," Applejack said, worriedly.
