Everything used to be different. I used to have parties with my friends, adventures. Now, all that remains are war and death.
It all started four years ago, on a cold winter’s day, when the body of a dead Griffin Empire legionnaire was found near the western border of Equestria. The ruler of the Empire, Thadius Darkclaw III, saw this as a pretext to start a war. Over the next few weeks, the whole Equestrian army had been mobilized and soon, the conflict went into full throttle.
However, Princess Celestia needed iron for the weapons and armour for her warriors. Not long after the war started, she released an edict stating, that each inhabitant of Equestria who commited a crime shall be sentenced to a lifetime of mining iron in an area of land simply called, The Colony.
Me and my friends had been separated and sent to different parts of Equestria, so that we wouldn’t fall into Darkclaw’s hands. I had been sent to the Crystal Empire, to live with my aunt Cadence. All was well until that unfathomable day, when I did something I hoped I would never witness or do. Something, which everyone considered horrendous to even think of. I committed a murder. Now, I stood on a cliff and before me lay The Colony.
“Twilight Sparkle!” the Judge summoned me.
I was pushed forward by the guard.. I still couldn’t believe that this was happening, that from a life of love and friendship I was about to be sent into one full of violence, hate and chaos. I wanted to go back home, to my family, to my friends, to Cadence. The Judge’s voice brought me back to reality.
“You are charged with the murder of Princess Mi Amore Cadenza and will be sentenced to a lifetime of labor in The Colony.”
I swallowed.
“Do you have anything to say for your defense?” he asked.
I proudly raised my head and looked at him.
“All you need to do is tell us who gave the orders and you will be free.”
“Never.” I whispered.
“Throw her in.” he said simply.
The two men picked me up and approached the edge of the cliff. Below, was a small lake and three figures in red. I looked back at the judge, he shrugged.
“Good luck.” He said and walked away.
I felt the guards’ grip loosen and my stomach began to rise to my throat as I pummeled down towards the water. I had never screamed so hard in my life. Within seconds, I hit the surface of the lake making a loud splash. It was cold and unpleasant. I kicked the water with my feet and swam towards the bank.
Panting, I tried to get up but a force sent me onto the dirty ground. I gasped as the air left my lungs. I looked up, before me stood three men dressed in red tunics, grinning evilly. One of them began to approach me. I tried to back away but his friends had been already waiting behind. They caught me and pushed me down to my knees and then turned me around, my backside facing the first man.
“This is going to be fun!” he said with glee. His friends snickered.
I gasped as I felt his palm gently slide down my butt. Then he slapped it, then again and again, delicately moaning with each strike. The pain was immense.
“Nice arse you’ve got.” He commented.
Then, the man ripped off my silk trousers and velvet underwear, the others still keeping a firm grip on my head. Knowing, where this was heading, I tried to free myself. I twisted and turned, but the hold on me was too strong. I heard him slowly unzip his trousers when a powerful, commanding feminine voice interrupted everything.
“What do you think you are doing with MY property?”
The man released his grip on me, which allowed for me to take a look at the newcomer. She was a tall girl with powerful looking legs and arms. Her hair was of auburn colour and her eyes were scarlet. She was dressed in a sky blue tunic, opposed to the crimson ones, the men wore.
“Oh shit!” one of the men exclaimed.
The girl walked up to the one who tried to rape me and caught his neck, lifting him up as if he weighed nothing.
“Do you want to join the others, insect?” she asked.
The man’s eyes were filled with horror.
“I uh…I didn’t mean to…” he whimpered.
The girl smirked as she tightened her grip. The man began to choke and desperately began to try to pull her arm away from him. But he was too weak. Soon his movements became slower until they stopped completely. The others gasped. The girl let out a laugh and dropped the lifeless body onto the ground. Her eyes looked coldly at the others. In response, they nodded and ran away, not wanting to join their companion. Then, the girl turned to me, I gulped.
“Get up.” She said.
I quickly pulled up my pants and trousers.
“Thanks.” I simply said.
She turned around and punched me hard on the jaw. I screamed as I felt how powerful the attack had been. I was sure that she had broken some of my teeth. I sank to my knees, sobbing. The girl kneeled down to me and twisted my head to face her scarlet eyes.
“You don’t say thanks here. You don’t show kindness. There is no love or friendship here. There is only the power of sheer will.” She said simply. “If you’re going to be a good dog, I’ll be a good master.” She said. “If not…” she trailed off and looked at the dead body of the rapist, “Well…you know.”
I nodded once again.
“Welcome to The Colony.” She announced.
