//-------------------------------------------------------// Goodbye -by PnFink- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Goodbye //-------------------------------------------------------// Goodbye Filly Twilight Sparkle, who was sitting in her mother’s car, which was heading off to the arts and crafts store gazed out the window, enveloped with pure thought. Her deep amethyst irises drifted off to the horizon line, where she perceived the shape of a truck. Her eyes dilated in concentration, trying to make out what the truck looked like. It was a white commerce truck that had traces of red and black on it. On the side it read, “Mike’s Art Supplies.”  Twilight smiled, for that was the place her mom and her were heading at the prevailing second. She anticipated what convivial craft her mother was going to make with her that day. They had been doing such every Saturday since Twilight’s father died, for Twilight didn’t want to lose her as well. Twilight’s mother, Twilight Velvet, had promised her that they would spend every single day together, so that if one of them ever died, they wouldn’t have wasted a second of their time together. Twilight, enraptured in the thought of this, watched as the truck grew big and commodious like a balloon in front of her. She thought nothing of this, for she wasn’t paying attention. And then, she saw it, and everything clicked in her head. Her eyes augmented in terror. The truck wasn’t getting bigger. No, no. It was getting closer. “Watch out!” cried Twilight. But it was too late. The commerce truck whizzed through the front of the car. Wires ruptured and the car groaned, and the whole front part of the car dislocated itself from the rest of the car. Glass remnants of the front window clattered to the floor as the other truck gyrated across the pavement. The whole car flipped over as Twilight was thrusted forth against her seatbelt. The world spun around her and the roof disrupted under the sheer, merciless pressure of the pavement. Twilight’s head immoderately buffeted the back of her seat and everything around her became indistinguishable. Twilight heard a bloodcurdling shriek from her mom and snapped her eyes shut in horror when she heard the sound of windows breaking and was plunged out the window. She heard wind whizzing across her face and then landed on something hard. When she opened her eyes, she found herself recumbent with her head on the pavement and her body in the car. Shards of glass were dispersed around her. A throbbing ringing sound reverberated through her eardrums. She lifted her head up and looked around. The first thing she noticed was that she was still in her seatbelt. She slid out, crawled across the floor and looked over in the front seat in search of her mom. She found nothing. Twilight looked out the window, and her heart caught in her throat. Twilight Velvet was lying restrained under one of the tires. “Mommy!” Twilight Velvet writhed in pain, but to no avail. Confounded, Twilight Sparkle crawled over to her blemished mother. “Mommy, are you okay?” “I’m afraid not this time.” “What does that mean?” “Mommy is hurt.” “How Bad?” Twilight Velvet cringed. Tears commenced her eyes as her eyes grew red. Apprehending what this meant, Twilight Sparkle began to cry. “Does this mean......” “I’m afraid so, Twily.” Tears of disquietude and fear streamed perpetually down Twilight Sparkle’s purple cheeks as she stared in her dying mother’s eyes. Twilight Velvet grasped her hoof as Twilight continued to lament. “Aww, don’t cry, Twilight. Mommy will be in a better place.” Twilight continued to bawl as she glanced up into Twilight Velvet’s magenta eyes, which were prevailingly ridden with red tendrils and tears that fell down her cheeks. “Twily, can you do me a favor?” “...Yes...” “Could you find me your mommy?” “....You’re my Mommy...” “I’m sorry Twilight, but I won’t be able to be your mommy anymore.” “But....” “Mommy’s dying, Twily....” “Please don’t go, Mommy! I’m scared.” “Now, now. I’ll always be with you.” “Where, Mommy, where?” Twilight Velvet put a hoof to Twilight Sparkle’s chest. “Your heart, Twilight, your heart....” “Mommy?” Twilight Velvet’s lips remained congested. Not a tear escaped her eyes. “Mommy!? MOMMY!” Twilight Sparkle’s voice deteriorated to a feeble gasp. Twilight brandished her mother and cried, “Wake up, Mommy, wake up!!” Twilight, who was bawling her heart out in solitariness and pure anguish, pressed her ear against her mother’s chest. Silence. She glared up at the sky and cried, “MOMMY!!!!” The truck was suddenly lifted off of the two. Twilight Velvet, who remained mortified in Twilight Sparkle’s tear-stained hooves, lay glaring at the sky, her eyes unimpassioned and expressionless. Twilight’s eyes were stained with tears, and her moist cheeks gleamed in the sunlight. Twilight’s cries dissipated into gasps and desperate chuckles, for she knew that her mother was dead.
