Pokey woke up early in the morning to find Pinkie waiting for him at the foot of his bed, party cannon just behind her. Thankfully, he managed to stop her from firing it, knowing that it would wake up the entire town if it did. She argued for a tiny bit, but then decided to go down to the kitchen so she could pout while stuffing her face with the treats she had brought over. When Pokey finally got downstairs there was nothing but a few crumbs left, a very content Pinkie sitting in front of the plate.
"Were those supposed to be for me?" Pokey asked, noticing that a card that read Happy Anniversary Pokey-Wokey was sitting behind the plate.
"Oh, uh, yeah, they were supposed to be for you..." Pinkie trailed off, trying to explain why she had eaten every single one of the special cupcakes she had made for him the night before. They were his favorite kind as well, red velvet, and she had spent the night making them instead of sleeping. Pokey sighed before he reached into his cabinet and pulled out a coffee mug using his magic.
"It's fine Pinkie, I wouldn't expect any less from you" Pokey said as he poured himself a cup of coffee, using his magic to heat it up before putting some creamer into it. He sat down across from Pinkie and drank his coffee while waiting for the morning newspaper, glancing at the clock to see that it was only half past five in the morning. Letting out a small sigh he headed upstairs, taking his coffee with him, so he could lay down for a while longer, not wanting to be up and about just yet. Pinkie followed him up the stairs without him knowing, and as soon as he put his coffee down and climbed onto the bed Pinkie jumped on him, squishing him with her weight.
"What are you doing?!" Pokey said angrily as he pushed her away, "You know you're not supposed to do that anymore!" He looked down at her stomach, seeing it just a tiny bit higher than his knee, meaning Pinkie was very close to hitting the unborn foal in the head when she jumped on him. She followed his gaze down and she immediately rolled off, landing flat on the bed next to him. Pokey couldn't understand how, in the three months he's been with Pinkie, how she could constantly forget that she's carrying a foal. It was like she didn't want to remember, that or she thought that if she forgot about it she wouldn't tell anypony else. For some reason unknown to Pokey, she was deathly afraid to tell her five closest friends that she was pregnant.
"Hey Pinkie, can I ask you a question?" Pokey asked as he turned his head to look at her, "Why are you afraid to tell anypony about the fact that you're pregnant?" He could see Pinkie squirming under his gaze, still not wanting to tell even him the reason why she didn't want to tell anypony. The Cakes knew, but that was about it, and apparently Pinkie had asked them to swear a vow silence to her that they wouldn't tell anypony until she did.
"I dunno..." Pinkie said slowly, hoping that Pokey would drop the subject before he forced her to answer the question. Of course, Pokey could tell that she was lying and did know why, so he kept staring at her, making her progressively more and more uncomfortable until she cracked.
"OK! FINE!" Pinkie said dramatically as she flailed her arms up, nearly whacking Pokey in the face as she did, "I don't want to tell them because I don't want them to hate me!" She looked at Pokey like a sad puppy for a short time before looking away again so she could pout.
"You do realize you'll have to tell them eventually right?" Pokey asked, looking at Pinkie with disinterest. He honestly didn't care, but he didn't want to face the fallout that would happen if her friends found out about it the day she was giving birth. Pokey knew that at least two of her friends, Rainbow Dash and Applejack, would probably beat him to a pulp if that happened, and he quite liked not being a disgusting pulp.
"I know, but I'm don't want them to get angry at me for it" Pinkie said, turning to face Pokey again, "What if they think I'm stupid for getting pregnant before I was married and then they stop being my friends?"
"They won't do that, trust me" Pokey said as he leaned forwards and gave Pinkie a light kiss on the nose, making her blush. She kissed him back and then cuddled up against him, purring lightly.
"I'll tell them tomorrow, okay?" Pinkie said as she moved so that her back was against Pokey's stomach, "I just want to spend today with you" Pinkie nuzzled her head against Pokey's chin, giggling happily when he wrapped his legs around her. It was times like this when Pokey could actually feel the love from Pinkie, and it made him feel like he was there because he loved her, not just because he got her pregnant somehow. If things would stay like this forever he would probably actually fall in love with her, but he couldn't be sure about that, one big accident and it would...
"PINKIE?!"
Pokey's eyes snapped open as he looked forwards, seeing a rainbow maned Pegasus floating just outside his window. She was looking between the two of them in disbelief, not able to make sense of why one of her best friends was lying in bed with some random stallion. Pokey wanted to explain it to her so badly, but no words were coming out of his mouth. Pinkie on the other hand, knew that this might be the best time to have a mare to mare talk with Rainbow.
"Rainbow, can we talk?"
