//-------------------------------------------------------// Balloons and Needles -by Chocovich- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Pinkamena's Run //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Pinkamena's Run Chapter 1: Pinkamena's Run As Pinkie put her head down on her pillow she felt as if she was laying on a cloud. She didn't actually know what it was like to lay on a cloud, but she did know that Rainbow always said they were the most comfortable thing ever, so that's what she made a comparison to in her head. Once she was comfortable Pinkie closed her eyes, falling fast asleep almost immediately. Inside her head she was about to entire a dream sequence, the first of them being a world made entirely out of chocolate that she had dubbed "Coco Planet" last time the visited it. While Pinkie was draining the chocolate planet of it's chocolate milk oceans something else that was in her mind began to stir. "So, she's finally asleep?" Pinkamena asked out loud, quite enjoying the sound of her own voice, "Perfect" After double checking to make sure that Pinkie was actually asleep Pinkamena opened "her" eyes, seeing what Pinkie had seen just before she closed her eyes. Once Pinkamena had checked to make sure she was in control of everything she climbed out of the bed and headed for the window. Opening the window up she looked outside, attempting to spot a new store that was just opened nearby. "Pins and Needles?" Pinkamena read out loud as she spotted the shop, "Just where I want to go" Carefully climbing out the window Pinkamena made her way towards the shop, which happened to double as it's owner's, aka Pokey Pierce's, home. A few days ago he had come into the bakery to buy lunch, but when Pinkie got a good look at him he quickly became more than just a customer to her. She gave him special treatment, only a bit more than she would give to other ponies, but it was different. Even Pinkamena, who had been sleeping at the time knew that Pinkie felt differently about him, and tonight, Pinkamena wanted to find out if there was something between them. Looking around the outside of the building revealed an open window on the second floor, which she assumed to be his bedroom. Utilizing Pinkie's seemingly magic ability to go wherever she wanted Pinkamena suddenly appeared in the window, and in front of her was a sleeping stallion. "Well, well, what do we have here..." Pinkamena whispered as she walked up to the bed, noticing a small bit of a tent down between the stallion's hind legs, "Looks like he's got a pogo stick just waiting for me to take it for a ride..." A quiet giggle escaped Pinkie's lips as she threw the sheets off of Pokey, quickly positioning herself above him, and with one smooth drop... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Pinkamena slipped out of Pokey's window, the stallion still sleeping stallion despite the new wet spot on his bed. As she walked back towards the bakery she felt a warm feeling deep down inside her, almost allowing her to crack a smile. Now all she wanted to do was go back to her place in Pinkie's mind, and in the morning she would laugh hysterically as Pinkie finds that her doughnut had been given a cream filling. Once Pinkamena had managed to get back into the bed she receded back to her hole, waiting for Pinkie to return from her dreams. Right now she was swimming through a river of vanilla ice cream, which pretty much forced Pinkamena to laugh. "Oh Pinkie, I can't wait for you to wake up" Pinkamena said to herself, "It'll be the best surprise I've ever given anypony" Pinkamena continued to laugh as Pinkie happily drank up the entire river of ice cream, waking up just as her dream self was about to get a massive brain freeze. "So cold!" Pinkie shouted as she woke up, suddenly realizing that she was in her room at Sugar Cube Corner, and wasn't swimming in a river of ice cream while exploring the banana nut jungle. She giggled quietly to herself before getting out of bed and heading towards the door, but a sudden wet feeling from between her legs made her stop. Pinkie knew she wasn't peeing herself, the only times she would do that is if somepony gave her too much cider and then told a really funny joke, neither of which were happening right now. Standing up perfectly on her hind legs Pinkie looked down, just as a small drop of a mysterious white liquid ran down her leg, eventually ending up on the floor. "Huh?" Pinkie said as she moved back so she could get a closer look at the liquid. Smelling it didn't tell her what it was, and it looked like every other white liquid she had seen, so, using her own brand of logic, she decided to taste it. "Yuck!" Pinkie gagged as the taste bombarded her taste buds, "It's really salty and icky and EW!" Pinkie stuck her tongue out and rubbed all of the white liquid off, but the taste was still there. Running out of the room she headed for the kitchen, where she planned on eating a bunch of muffins to try and drown out the taste. When she began to scarf down muffins, not even caring what kind, she was spotted by Mrs Cake, who had been just behind her when Pinkie ran into the kitchen. "Pinkie, dear, is everything alright?" Mrs Cake asked as she looked at Pinkie from the side, as she had turned to eat the muffins. "Ogh Yehah (Oh Yeah)" Pinkie mumbled as she continued to eat the muffins, "Ehverehthinghs fhine (Everythings fine)" Mrs Cake eyed Pinkie carefully, noticing a bit of the white liquid on her hind leg. Trotting up to Pinkie so she could get a better look Mrs Cake was hit with a strange smell, just as she saw the source of the liquid. "Pinkie, sweetheart, we need to talk" Mrs Cake said, giving Pinkie on last look, "Right now" //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: Talking With Cake (In Your Mouth) //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: Talking With Cake (In Your Mouth) Chapter 2: Talking With Cake (In Your Mouth) Mrs Cake led Pinkie out of the kitchen, giving Mr Cake as look as he walked past them, telling him to clean up the mess that Pinkie had made on the kitchen floor. A groan from Mr Cake could be heard when he saw the mess, thinking that it had only been some spilled icing or curdled milk that Pinkie spit out. Mrs Cake laughed in her head, a small smile creeping onto her face, but it was quickly gone as she remembered why her husband had to clean up, and what he was cleaning up. "Pinkie, what happened?" Mrs Cake asked seriously, dropping her usual way of speaking so that Pinkie knew it was something serious. Pinkie looked at Mrs Cake in confusion for a moment, before another drop of the liquid ran down her hind leg, accompanied by a sound that was similar to someone slapping their wet hooves together, which made Pinkie giggle. With one look Mrs Cake wanted to vomit, as the liquid had now begun to pool around her hooves again. "Pinkie, what is going on with you?" Mrs Cake asked, putting a hoof on Pinkie's shoulder to try and make her understand that this was a very serious issue. Pinkie's usually playful attitude seemed to disappear for a short while, but it quickly returned when Mr Cake carried a cart with a two day old chocolate fudge cake on it. "Can I have that?!" Pinkie asked happily, surprising Mr Cake because she popped up behind him without any warning. He reluctantly handed it over to her, and she shoved the entire cake into her mouth with one big bite. Pinkie trotted back over to Mrs Cake, giving Mr Cake a clear view of where the liquid was coming from, which made him look over at Mrs Cake worriedly. It was obvious what was going on, and it worried both Mr and Mrs Cake. For all they knew Pinkie could have been attacked by somepony at night, or she could be hiding a serious relationship from them, but no matter what it was, they wanted to know what happened. "Sho what did yhou whant to talk abhout? (So what did you want to talk about?)" Pinkie asked as she stopped in front of Mrs Cake, who was soon joined by her husband. "Pinkie, why are you..." Mr Cake tried to ask, but he was too nervous to finish his sentence. "Ehating a whole chake? (Eating a whole cake?)" Pinkie asked, completely oblivious to what Mr Cake was asking about. The two Cakes looked at each other as they tried to figure out how they were supposed to ask Pinkie about something to personal, meanwhile Pinkie attempted to swallow the cake, unable to get it all down smoothly because of how tough the cake had become since it was made two days ago. She began to make weird gagging noises as a large chunk of the cake started to slip down her throat, which was accompanied by some odd noises from the other end of Pinkie's body. "What dhid yhou whant to thalk abhout? (What did you want to talk about?)" Pinkie asked, looking between the two Cakes in confusion as she gave one more push to get the cake down, finally sending it down with a happy sigh. Now that she had managed to get the cake down she was able to completely focus on both of the Cakes, something that was quite rare for her. Of course, it didn't last long as another drop went down her leg so she turned around, looking to see what it was. Thinking back to when she had attempted to lick it up when she was in her room, so she really began to think long and hard about. "I wonder what happened last night" Pinkie said out loud, making the Cakes give her a strange look. They had been under the impression that she knew what was going on, and what had happened to put her in this situation, but now it was clear that she was as lost as they were. Just before they went to try and ask Pinkie if she had any idea whatsoever what had happened somepony opened the front door, running to the backroom where they were as fast as he could. "Which one of you broke into my house last night?!" Pokey Pierce asked loudly as he skipped around the corner, looking at the three of them angrily. The Cakes immediately looked between Pinkie and Pokey, and idea starting to form in their heads. Pokey saw their heads turning as they did, which raised his confusion level until he finally noticed the odd pool that had formed around Pinkie. "Is that..." Pokey said slowly, his eyes squinting as he tried to confirm the type of liquid that it was. With a giggle Pinkie turned around, making Pokey's dark blue face turn completely red. He tried to talk but all that came out was an awkward stutter that made Pinkie giggle even more. "So what were you saying about someone breaking into your house?" Pinkie asked, still being completely ignorant of what was going on between her, the Cakes, and Pokey. Pokey stood in shock for about a minute, watching as Pinkie happily bounced around as the Cakes watched her in complete confusion, but once the shock wore off he ran out of the bakery. He immediately went into his house, and then tried to forget anything had ever happened. Meanwhile Pinkie continued to bounce around, making Mr and Mrs Cake let out a loud sigh and walked away, wanting to get to work on the baking they had to do for today. "Awww..." Pinkie moaned when she stopped bouncing around, "Where'd everypony go?" Pinkie looked around slowly before shrugging it off and heading towards the shower, wanting to get the weird liquid off of her hind legs because it had begun to feel really weird. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: Goocakes //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: Goocakes Chapter 3: Goocakes Mrs Cake was woken up early in the morning to the sound of somepony hurling loudly in the nearby bathroom. When she looked into the room she saw Pinkie praying to porciline throne with a flurry of gags. She tried to turn around and say good morning to Mrs Cake, but she had to keep her snout in the toilet bowl or else she would spew all over the bathroom, making a bigger mess than she had a week ago. "Pinkie, dear, are you feeling alright?" Mrs Cake asked, coming over to stand right next to Pinkie, pulling her mane back with one of her hooves. Pinkie just continued to hurl, so Mrs Cake decided that she was going to stay by her side and wait for her to finish. While she waited Mr Cake woke up, as well as the twins, who joined in the noisy morning by adding in their cries. He looked into the bathroom for a moment before heading towards the twins' bedroom, hoping to make them stop crying. A few minutes later they started to calm down, again making the only noise in the bakery to be Pinkie's hurling. "Is she going to live?" Mr Cake asked tiredly as he looked into the bathroom again. Mrs Cake gave Pinkie a close look before she stood up, letting her mane fall back around her face. "I think she's feeling sick because of, well..." Mrs Cake trailed off, looking back at Pinkie as she shook from hurling for so long. Mr Cake understood what she was talking about and nodded slowly, turning to head downstairs so that he could get started on the day's baking while Mrs Cake kept Pinkie company. When Mrs Cake returned to Pinkie's side she held up her mane again, just as Pinkie finished her hurl fest. "I never knew cupcakes would be so gooey when they came back up..." Pinkie moaned as she held her stomach, still feeling like she needed to barf, "Did you know that you can still see the icing?" "Pinkie, do you know why you're sick?" Mrs Cake asked, even though she already knew the answer. Pinkie thought about it for a moment, a look that said she was really thinking about it came over her face. When she finally came to a conclusion in her head she smiled, looking at Mrs Cake with a knowing look in her eyes. "It's because I ate a bunch of cupcakes last night!" Pinkie said happily, thinking that she was completely correct. When she finished smiling she felt a new wave of nausea take over her, forcing her to shove her face back into the toilet bowl. Mrs Cake sighed and rolled her eyes as she held Pinkie's mane back again, making her time easier. After giving her a few minutes to hurl Mrs Cake's leg began to feel tired so she switched, and accidentally punched Pinkie in the face because she had sat up really fast. "Oh, I'm so sorry dearie!" Mrs Cake said quickly as Pinkie's wet mane was blocking her face from view. Mrs Cake went to move the mane out of the way and instead found Pinkie's hoof, with the bottom of it turned towards Mrs Cake. She blinked a few times so she was sure that she was actually staring at Pinkie's hoof, which for some reason was under her mane... "Gotcha!" Pinkie said happily before she went back to vomiting. Apparently at some point she had lifted her tail up with a leg and placed it behind her head, and on top of a hoof. When Mrs Cake had gone to switch hooves she wasn't paying attention, and ended up hoof bumping with Pinkie. She had no idea which hoof she bumped, or how it got to where it was, but right now she didn't care to ask. "Pinkie, what are you trying to do?" Mrs Cake asked, sounding just about as annoyed as she actually was. Pinkie managed to stop hurling just long enough to sit up and face Mrs Cake so she could answer her question. "I had a feeling that you might have accidentally hit me at some point, so I moved my hoof to where my head would be so you didn't do any damage!" Pinkie said oddly cheerfully considering she was talking about getting hit in the head. Her cheeriness was quickly ended by another urge to vomit, but this time she managed to fight it long enough to give Mrs Cake a very pained look, as if her stomach was trying to break itself out of her body. Just before she shoved her snout straight back into the toilet bowl Pinkie saw Mrs Cake getting up and heading downstairs, knowing that right now nothing she could do could help. When Mr Cake entered the kitchen she saw Mr Cake with at least half a dozen baking trays balanced on his back as he attempted to put them all in the ovens at once. "Would you like some help dearie?" Mrs Cake asked as she picked a few of the trays up off her husband's back, making his life a whole lot easier. After all of them were in the ovens he turned to her, a bead of sweat running down his face. "Not anymore thanks to you sugarplum" Mr Cake said as he leaned in to give her a kiss, "How is Pinkie doing?" "She's pregnant" Mrs Cake replied instantly, surprising Mr Cake so much that he did a double take. "How do you know?!" Mr Cake asked worriedly, afraid that having another small foal in the house would make things even harder on them, especially because it'd be Pinkie's. "She's having morning sickness right now" Mrs Cake said, being confirmed by the sound of Pinkie moaning in agony during a rest period between gags, "It's been a week since we found about, well..." Mr Cake nodded slowly, not only because he understood what she was saying, but also because he was worried about how Pinkie would react to the news. Either she would be overjoyed, or she would become extremely depressed, he couldn't tell. All they could do now was wait for her to feel better, and then, tell her. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4: Pokey Pierce, Investigator //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4: Pokey Pierce, Investigator Chapter 4: Pokey Pierce, Investigator Pokey had been cleaning up his shop after a small group of fillies had come in to try and see if they had a cutie mark in sewing, or in pointy things like he did. When they began to look around the shop it was nothing more than them innocently picking up needles and comparing them, but then they sent the orange Pegasus out to go and get some yarn from Ms Wooly's store down the road. She ended up returning with a cart full of yarns of every color, and the three of them quickly began to tear through the shop, trying to find out which needle was the best for sowing. Eventually they left after realizing that they weren't destined to be masters of sowing or the best needle makers, leaving him to clean up their gigantic mess. "Why didn't they at least stay to help me clean up..." Pokey groaned as he continued to clean up. It reminded him of the week before, when he had to quickly clean up a white mess that Pinkie had left after her late night "party" in his room. The morning after, when he woke up, he found his bed sheets in a crumpled mass on the floor, and a white trail leading to his window. He decided to poke the weird trail, thinking that it was part of some kind of joke, but when he leaned down he found where it had come from. "Who played with Pokey Jr?!" Pokey shouted when he saw the trail's origin, where some of it was still sitting. He sighed angrily before going into his bathroom to clean himself up. Once he was clean he went outside to find out where the trail led. If someone thought that they could get away with what they did without him finding out who they were, they had another thing coming. "Aha!" Pokey said as he found the trail leading out of his bedroom, across the street and into... "SUGAR CUBE CORNER?!" Pokey said in surprise, barely managing to keep his voice down to a normal level. He quickly double checked by running around to the front of the building, seeing the familiar Sugar Cube Corner sign right out front. Ever since he came to Ponyville it had been his favorite place to eat, they always have the best cupcakes and baked goods, but finding out that somepony that lived inside the bakery had gone into his house at night and rode him like the stallion he was... "Hiya!" Pinkie shouted as she burst into his store, making him drop a box of needles that he had been cleaning up. Because of all the needles he dropped he ended up dancing around the floor, trying his best to avoid getting a needle in the middle of his hoof, but it didn't work. As soon as he got to the edge of the circle the needles had created on the floor he managed to step right onto one of them, sending it all the way up into his hoof. "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!" Pokey cried as he started to hop around like he was on a pogo stick, managing to bump right into Pinkie because she had moved further into the store to try and help him clean up because it was her fault he dropped the box in the first place. For a moment they just laid on the ground in blind confusion, neither of them quite knowing what had just happened. Eventually Pokey's brain started working again and he freaked out, jumping off of Pinkie and inadvertently sending the needle further into his hoof. "OH CELESTIA WHY?!" Pokey cried out, sounding as if somepony was trying to rip his eyes from their sockets with a rusty spoon. "Are you feeling okay?" Pinkie asked slowly, looking at Pokey with her head slightly tilted to the side. Pokey shot her a look that could make ponies turn to stone and cause even the largest animals to be riddled with fear. "DOES IT LOOK LIKE I'M OKAY?!" Pokey shouted, putting his hoof up so that she could see how deep the needle was into it, but at this point she couldn't even see it. All she could see was a small red dot, with plenty of Pokey's dark red blood pouring out of it, leaving a small puddle on the floor. When Pokey looked down he felt extremely light headed and almost collapsed, but his current hate for Pinkie gave him the strength to stay standing. "GO GET SOMEONE FROM THE HOSPITAL!" Pokey shouted at Pinkie, making her jump into action quickly, somehow coming back within a minute with Nurse Redheart. Nurse Redheart looked around in confusion at first, but when she saw Pokey bleeding out on the floor she snapped into action, quickly looking for the source of the blood, and then quickly getting Pinkie to cover it with her hoof while she looked for something to bandage it with. When she got back, a small bit of medical tape and bandages that Pokey kept in his hall closet in her mouth, she saw his color starting to drain. "Pinkie, can you put your mane in his mouth?" Nurse Redheart asked, getting a confused look from both of them. Of course, Pinkie complied and literally shoved the end of her mane into his mouth, which he tried to spit out. Thankfully for him he didn't get it out, so when Nurse Redheart began to dig around in the wound for the needle he had something to bite down on so he didn't end up cursing loud enough to wake the dead from all across Equestria. In his head Pokey was thinking of a million ways to kill himself so he wouldn't feel the pain anymore, but it ended before he could follow up on the plan to stab himself in the face with the novelty needle that he kept nearby. "Ok, looks like everything's ok, now we just need to-" Nurse Redheart said as she stood up, cleaning the blood off of her hooves, "Oh, he passed out" As she asked Pinkie to help carry him to the hospital Pokey let out a small breath of fog, which Nurse Redheart swore looked like a skull and bones. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5: Surprise Hospital Visit //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5: Surprise Hospital Visit Chapter 5: Surprise Hospital Visit Pinkie sat in the corner of the hospital room with a depressed look on her face. It had been nearly two hours since Pokey was admitted for sending a needle so far into his hoof that the doctors were afraid he had caused severe nerve damage. Once they had cleared him and made sure there was no chance of him getting an infection or disease they put him in this room. This cold, unforgiving white room. Pinkie felt like she was slipping into a severe depression because Pokey wasn't waking up. When they got to the hospital she told the doctors that it was her fault he dropped the needles and ended up stepping on one. One of them scoffed at her and said she was a "hyperactive moron", and another said that she could have seriously hurt him because of it. She tried to tell them that it was an accident, but they didn't have time for it, except for one of them. Doctor Monitor came over and put a hoof around Pinkie's neck, making her look up. "Here, why don't you come with me and we can get this all figured out" he said as he lead Pinkie towards his office, where they would spend at least thirty minutes talking about what led up to Pokey impaling his hoof on the needle. Pinkie even told the doctor about what had happened the week before, and she was then quickly rushed into another room, where a strange Unicorn wrapped his magic around her. Doctor Monitor didn't tell her why he did what he did, and all she was told to do was wait inside Pokey's room, getting a nurse in case he started to wake up. "...uh...." Pokey groaned, his eyes making their best attempt to open up. To him it felt as if each eyelash was as heavy as everypony in Canterlot put together, plus the weight of the town itself. From the corner of the room he heard a hopeful sniffle, which made his ears perk up. He thought that he was just laying in his bed and the needle incident was all a dream. Of course, when he opened his eyes what he saw was the cold grey ceiling of the hospital room, the only source of color in the room being the sad pink pony that was sitting as far away from him as she could. "Pinkie...?" Pokey said slowly, "What are you doing in here?" He could feel himself becoming extremely light headed. Shaking himself so he was more aware, Pokey could now see that something was really bothering Pinkie, if the darker color of coat and mane was any indication. Having heard the rumors about what happened the last time Pinkie became depressed Pokey felt the urge to talk to her, even if it was her fault that he was there in the first place. "...You hate me don't you..." Pinkie said slowly, sniffling again as a stray tear ran down her snout, landing on the tiled floor with a quick drip. Soon after Pinkie looked up, her eyes were bloodshot, and her snout was coated with dried tears, matching the ones that had long since dried up on the floor. Without warning she ran at Pokey, jumping at him at a high speed, but somehow she managed to land on him like she was a soft feather, barely putting any pressure on him at all. "I'm so sorry for everything that I did to you. I don't even remember sneaking into your house at night and doing what I did to you, and I didn't mean to make you hurt yourself today!" Pinkie cried as she rubbed her head back and forth on Pokey's chest, her fluffy mane nearly suffocating him in the process, "I'm really super duper sorry for what I did, can you please, please, PLEASE, forgive me?!" Pokey let out a loud sigh, which made Pinkie gasp as she quickly jumped off of him, an even sadder look in her eyes. "I'm really sorry about everything, especially this, but, I have to tell you..." Pinkie said slowly, making Pokey worry. Did she have an STD? Was she actually in a relationship with some other pony and she used him to move things along with them somehow? Could she have a romantic interest in him? What if she actually managed to- "...I'm pregnant, with your foal... Pokey..." Pinkie said slowly, more tears welling up in her eyes. Pokey couldn't believe it, she was actually pregnant. Pinkie Pie, resident party animal and Element of Laughter, was pregnant with HIS foal. This was definitely not the kind of position he thought he would find himself in after moving to Ponyville, and he sure as the moon didn't plan for it. As an awkward silence filled the room Pokey felt something trying to say something from inside his own head, and so he listened. "Hey, me" Pokey's conscious said in a whisper, "Between you and me, Pinkie Pie isn't half bad looking, and here she is, in need of a stallion like yourself. Now I know you're thinking that she isn't the one for you, but hey, she does have your foal, being there for her right now is the least you could do, since you did help make the darn thing in the first place, whether you remember it or not" "Pinkie, come here" Pokey said sadly, the sad party pony walking up next to him as he asked without any objections. When she was this close he could hear her quiet sobbing, which were so filled with emotions that it actually made him want to cry along side her, just to help her let it all out. "I'll be here for you, okay?" Pokey said, feeling a strange emotion afterwards as Pinkie leaned her head into him, snuggling herself up tight against his body. They continued to sit like that until a nurse came by, forcing Pinkie to move out of the way. From that point and afterwards Pinkie hung around, slowly becoming happy like she usually was, but the entire time they did, all Pokey was thinking was that he was there because part of him is inside of her. Anytime he wanted to chicken out and tell Pinkie to go away, he remembered that the foal was partly his, and as such he felt the need to be there for her as much as he could... //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6: Anniversary //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6: Anniversary Chapter 6: Anniversary Pokey woke up early in the morning to find Pinkie waiting for him at the foot of his bed, party cannon just behind her. Thankfully, he managed to stop her from firing it, knowing that it would wake up the entire town if it did. She argued for a tiny bit, but then decided to go down to the kitchen so she could pout while stuffing her face with the treats she had brought over. When Pokey finally got downstairs there was nothing but a few crumbs left, a very content Pinkie sitting in front of the plate. "Were those supposed to be for me?" Pokey asked, noticing that a card that read Happy Anniversary Pokey-Wokey was sitting behind the plate. "Oh, uh, yeah, they were supposed to be for you..." Pinkie trailed off, trying to explain why she had eaten every single one of the special cupcakes she had made for him the night before. They were his favorite kind as well, red velvet, and she had spent the night making them instead of sleeping. Pokey sighed before he reached into his cabinet and pulled out a coffee mug using his magic. "It's fine Pinkie, I wouldn't expect any less from you" Pokey said as he poured himself a cup of coffee, using his magic to heat it up before putting some creamer into it. He sat down across from Pinkie and drank his coffee while waiting for the morning newspaper, glancing at the clock to see that it was only half past five in the morning. Letting out a small sigh he headed upstairs, taking his coffee with him, so he could lay down for a while longer, not wanting to be up and about just yet. Pinkie followed him up the stairs without him knowing, and as soon as he put his coffee down and climbed onto the bed Pinkie jumped on him, squishing him with her weight. "What are you doing?!" Pokey said angrily as he pushed her away, "You know you're not supposed to do that anymore!" He looked down at her stomach, seeing it just a tiny bit higher than his knee, meaning Pinkie was very close to hitting the unborn foal in the head when she jumped on him. She followed his gaze down and she immediately rolled off, landing flat on the bed next to him. Pokey couldn't understand how, in the three months he's been with Pinkie, how she could constantly forget that she's carrying a foal. It was like she didn't want to remember, that or she thought that if she forgot about it she wouldn't tell anypony else. For some reason unknown to Pokey, she was deathly afraid to tell her five closest friends that she was pregnant. "Hey Pinkie, can I ask you a question?" Pokey asked as he turned his head to look at her, "Why are you afraid to tell anypony about the fact that you're pregnant?" He could see Pinkie squirming under his gaze, still not wanting to tell even him the reason why she didn't want to tell anypony. The Cakes knew, but that was about it, and apparently Pinkie had asked them to swear a vow silence to her that they wouldn't tell anypony until she did. "I dunno..." Pinkie said slowly, hoping that Pokey would drop the subject before he forced her to answer the question. Of course, Pokey could tell that she was lying and did know why, so he kept staring at her, making her progressively more and more uncomfortable until she cracked. "OK! FINE!" Pinkie said dramatically as she flailed her arms up, nearly whacking Pokey in the face as she did, "I don't want to tell them because I don't want them to hate me!" She looked at Pokey like a sad puppy for a short time before looking away again so she could pout. "You do realize you'll have to tell them eventually right?" Pokey asked, looking at Pinkie with disinterest. He honestly didn't care, but he didn't want to face the fallout that would happen if her friends found out about it the day she was giving birth. Pokey knew that at least two of her friends, Rainbow Dash and Applejack, would probably beat him to a pulp if that happened, and he quite liked not being a disgusting pulp. "I know, but I'm don't want them to get angry at me for it" Pinkie said, turning to face Pokey again, "What if they think I'm stupid for getting pregnant before I was married and then they stop being my friends?" "They won't do that, trust me" Pokey said as he leaned forwards and gave Pinkie a light kiss on the nose, making her blush. She kissed him back and then cuddled up against him, purring lightly. "I'll tell them tomorrow, okay?" Pinkie said as she moved so that her back was against Pokey's stomach, "I just want to spend today with you" Pinkie nuzzled her head against Pokey's chin, giggling happily when he wrapped his legs around her. It was times like this when Pokey could actually feel the love from Pinkie, and it made him feel like he was there because he loved her, not just because he got her pregnant somehow. If things would stay like this forever he would probably actually fall in love with her, but he couldn't be sure about that, one big accident and it would... "PINKIE?!" Pokey's eyes snapped open as he looked forwards, seeing a rainbow maned Pegasus floating just outside his window. She was looking between the two of them in disbelief, not able to make sense of why one of her best friends was lying in bed with some random stallion. Pokey wanted to explain it to her so badly, but no words were coming out of his mouth. Pinkie on the other hand, knew that this might be the best time to have a mare to mare talk with Rainbow. "Rainbow, can we talk?" //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 7: Talking to Yourself //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 7: Talking to Yourself Chapter 7: Talking to Yourself After Rainbow Dash left Pinkie sighed sadly, having the feeling that one of her friends may think down of her now. Pokey tried to cheer her up, but she wouldn't listen to anything he said, so he gave up and left her alone in his room. He had just come up to check up on her to find her still moping around on the bed. "Why are you still so down Pinkie?" Pokey asked as he trotted over to the side of the bed. Pinkie didn't answer him back, instead she just groaned and looked at him sadly, which made him start to worry. It was highly unlike her to sit around and mope all day, even if something bad had happened. "Pinkie, what's bothering you so much?" Pokey asked as he climbed onto the bed so he could be right next to Pinkie. "Now that Rainbow knows I don't think she wants to be my friend anymore" Pinkie said sadly, her hair visibly deflating as she did. She was obviously very depressed because of Rainbow's less than stellar reaction to the news. Rainbow had just sat there and listened, showing little to no emotion, and when Pinkie was done explaining she flew off, not saying a word. Pokey didn't know Rainbow, and she didn't know him, so he could understand why things would be awkward after Pinkie told her that Pokey got her pregnant somehow, but of course, Pinkie took the awkward situation the wrong way, so now she's spiralling into a pit of depression. "Pinkie, you know that won't happen" Pokey said as he hugged Pinkie, "From what you've told me you've been friends through thick and thin, this wouldn't break up your friendships" "But what if they do?" Pinkie asked sadly, which made Pokey feel the need to protect her. He knew that this whole thing was making her feel absolutely horrible, and as his love for her grew, so did the need to protect her from anything that would make her feel bad. Pinkie didn't resist as Pokey pulled her into a cuddle, so that he could attempt to comfort her. In his hooves Pinkie actually felt safe and secure, and in no time at all she was sound asleep, the worries she had when she was awake slowly disappearing... "Nice to finally meet you" "What?" Pinkie asked as she opened her eyes, expecting to find herself in Pokey's hooves, but instead she found herself standing on a hill overlooking a small farm, "Who said that, where am I?" Pinkie looked around quickly try and see if she had been to this place before, and when she saw the large windmill just a small ways away she knew where. "That's right, we're at the farm" somepony said from behind Pinkie, making her turn around. When she saw the pony that was behind her she nearly jumped down the hill. It was her, but something was different, something was off about her... "Don't remember who I am?" the pony asked, making Pinkie nod slowly, "I'm Pinkamena. I'm you" "But if you're me then how do I know that I'm me too?!" Pinkie asked quickly, memories of the mirror pool incident coming flooding back as she tried to figure out how there was another Pinkie Pie in front of her. Pinkamena sighed and brought her hoof up to her face, knowing that it was going to be difficult to explain how she existed inside her brain. "Do you want the long or short version?" Pinkamena asked, causing Pinkie to think for a few moments. "Short version please" Pinkie asked, her short attention span really shining when she was given the option to learn less. "Well, basically I'm a split personality, and I live in your brain" Pinkamena explained, "If you go into a really deep sleep I can break out and take over your body for a short amount of time" For a moment it seemed as if Pinkie understoof what she was being told, but her face quickly scrunched up into confusion. "I don't get it" Pinkie said honestly, making Pinkamena facehoof again. "I'm all in your head" Pinkamena, her patience wearing thin, "We're inside one of your dreams right now!" "Oh, really?!" Pinkie asked excitedly, quickly looking around for, something. When her eyes finally settled on a rock she made a face that said she was concentrating really hard, and then the rock turned into a small truffle. She ran over and ate it happily, humming to herself as it went down smoothly. "This really is one of my dreams!" Pinkie cheered happily as the world quickly turned into candy land, with everything except for her and Pinkamena becoming delicious and edible. "Okay..." Pinkamena said while giving Pinkie a disgusted look, "Now, how are things going with Pokey, did anything happen after I did the dirty dance with him?" "The dirty dance..." Pinkie echoed, thinking about what it meant, "Oh, yeah! Well, I'm pregnant and now I'm in a relationship with Pokey. It's so much fun!" "So you you two got together?" Pinkamena asked, "That's good news, I guess. Do I get a thank you for doing that for you?" Pinkie thought for a short time about it, and then decided to hug Pinkamena, making her gasp. She didn't actually think Pinkie was going to hug her, but then again, it was Pinkie, and she was friends with everypony. "Thank you so much other me!" Pinkie said as a white light began to appear at the highest point in the sky. Pinkamena knew what this meant, so she enjoyed the hug even more, actually managing to crack a small smile until Pinkie disappeared. The dream was over, somepony had woken her up, and now Pinkamena would return to the dark part of Pinkie's mind, waiting for her next chance to escape.
