I was running, I was running from fear. Something was there but I didn't know what. Every turn I made was a dead end in this dark forest.Then I had no where else to go. So I closed my eyes and hoped for what was coming for me not to be painful. When I opened my eyes Fridzy was shaking me.
"Cass wake up! Your're having a nightmare!"
"Ahh! I'm up I'm up! You can stop shaking me."
"It's morning and we need to hurry to get back to the the HQ."
"Right." We started packing up and by the time we were done we heard yelling coming from the woods. It wasn't yelling of help, it was more of the kind of bandits coming for us.
Fridzy readied her machete and I readied her battle saddle. He couldn't run away because it would of been useless. These ponies as they came out of the woods looked like they haven't eaten anything for days. All they had for weapons was switch blades and knifes. They surrounded us. One came charging at me. Fridzy leaped in the air and charged down right at him using the machete to slice from one part of the neck to the other, clean slice.
Three more charged in and I opened fire. Their bodies dropped as I imagined a castle would. But there was way to many to handle. They wanted food I can tell, and they wanted it badly. I just opened fire and killed as many as I could while Fridzy was doing the same. They didn't retreat for how many numbers of them has fallen. They just kept coming. Fridzy and I were covered in blood and I could tell she was as tired as I was. I was out of ammo and I had a feeling this would be our last moment. We hugged each other and closed our eyes. I felt her shacking and her heart beating fast. We didn't have a chance.
Then they came. The Pegasus came with AK's and a tank rolled up with some jeeps with mounted 50 Cals. Somepony was sitting on the tank and ordered his soldiers to clear them out and to protect us. "Thought y'all could use a hand." he said with a cigar in his mouth and with a smirk across his face.
"Oh thank you commander! I thought we were goners for a minute." Fridzy seem to know him
He chuckled "Y'all would of been if I hadn't shown up. Figured you were in trouble or you actually found Cass so I thought you would want a escort or for your flank to be saved."
They laughed "Commander we were in need of saving and I did find Cass!"
He got serous. "You found him?"
"Yes sir. He's right here."
"Commander? Who are you?" I asked
"Cass he's Commander Jam. You gave him that rank for being your right hand man. Commander he lost his memory at the battle of Bunker 97. Wynter was there sir!"
"Wynter? Why would she be there? She had to of been looking for something important for her to be there. Even though Cass was there, she kept him alive."
"Jam she ordered one of her soldiers to kill me. She did not want me to live. Yet the soldier said sorry to be before hitting me over my head. That's all I remember from.. well anything."
"I see. You are in no condition for leading Faction 12."
One of the Pegasus flew up, Saluted, and said "Sir, all bandits are cleared out of the area.
"Fantastic Sargent Gemini. Now if you would please drive them back to the HQ?"
"Of course Commander. You two, follow me." He lead us to the armored jeep then we took off. He was driving. "So why are you so important?"
Fridzy got offended. "What do you mean 'Why is he so important?' He's the Head Leader of this faction. He created it. He is what I've been searching for when I head out for though's 2 months. And yet you ask Why is he so bucking important?!"
"Fridzy its okay. I barely know my own self. Besides he must be new." I told her trying to calm her down.
"Yeah you're right. He's only been with us for only a month." It got quiet fast. Then what broke the silence was a loud whistle. The glass shattered and Sargent Gemini's head was shot and his blood splattered all over whats left of the window. The jeep flipped about 5 times. Me and Fridzy crawled out from under the jeep.
Somepony yelled "Sniper!" Everyone ducked and covered. Same pony yelled "Tankmen 9 o' clock, ready your weapons!"
"Tankmen?" I asked. "who are they and why are they attacking us and where are they?"
Fridzy explained "They are a group of 5 highly trained snipers and assassins. You can tell where they are from the sound of the bullet. You always hated them." Another whistling shot and complete took of a pony's head.
"I can see why." they shot another one this time a miss. "They have to be nearly a mile away for the shot to take a second or 2 to get here."
"Like I said, highly trained snipers if they can hit one of us." A pony was hit hard in the leg. He dropped. Fridzy yelled "Trooper down!" She ran right at him trying to pull him to safety and there it was. A shot was fired and I knew where it was headed. Right, At, Her. Everything froze. I had 2 choices right now. Either sit here and watch her die or..
Time started speeding up again. I quickly started to run right at her and yelled "WATCH OUT!" and I shoved her and the wounded pony out of the way and I was hit in my chest. Everything went black. Ringing in my ears. I could see fuzzy and I saw I was getting patched up by by a medic. A sharp shooter of our own had a music note on his leather coat. He was excited for some reason. I tried reading his lips, I think he said were safe for now. I got dragged in to another armor jeep and Fridzy was by my side in tears holding my hoof. My hearing came back a little. I heard her say. "Please, please I don't want to loose you again.."
