Stable 57... Just like any other apocalyptic bomb shelter, harboring the pony survivors of the great war. But griffins too survived the end of the world, some in Stable 57. Ashes to Ashes is one such griffin, living in bondage to the ponies that rule him, like the rest of his kin.

Having fled from his Stable, Ashes sets off to find his mother who escaped years ago, and must uncover the secrets left behind by the war that were buried in the wastes. But some who wander the wasteland become something less than alive, but not wholly dead. They become Ghosts.
