The Unexpected Saviour
Ch 11: My Mediocre Day with my Slowly Expanding Herd
Previous ChapterNext ChapterA/N: I told you my story would be different than Mavinator5’s story, Saving the Ponies. I told you, but some of you wouldn’t believe me. Here’s chapter eleven of my story.
Quotes inside these [] are a pony’s comment towards me on their opinion of my skills or something along the lines of what we are doing.
The ponies stared at Ket with confusion and disbelief.
“Really? You can cause fear in anypony? I don’t believe you. You look too egg-headed to do that.” Rainbow Dash says to Ket.
“Don’t tempt him. I saw with my own eyes that my flesh, hair, and fingernails turned jet black from him. I even had a feeling my bones were black-colored too.” I tell the ponies. As I spoke, Ket quickly changed his appearance multiple times. He suddenly stopped changing. The form he chose to show caused a collective gasp from all the ponies in the library.
Nightmare Moon was in the library. As suddenly as Ket stopped shifting, he started to shape-shift again. Back into his British form, I predicted. I was right.
“Do you believe Jackson and I now?” he asked the ponies, him now being in his preferred British appearance.
Us seeing the ponies’ jaws drop answered his question. He promptly returned to my mind to prevent more mental scarring for the ponies.
Rainbow Dash spoke up first. “He is so AWESOME. He could help me prank so many-”
Ket cut her off through me. “I do not prank any living thing, ponies included. Sorry to ruin your plans.” He said. I could tell he was smiling. Either from the request or the idea of pranking, I didn’t know.
‘Hey, Ket. I think you are a small part of the reason Rarity likes me’ I think to Ket.
It’s a possibility, Jackson. Yet I do not know how much she likes you because of me. He says to me from my mind.
I was getting bored so I felt like playing video games. I had always wanted to try a teleport-type thing. I just didn’t believe it would happen with magic.
“Twi, how do you do a teleport spell?” I ask Twilight.
“Well, Jackson. First, you focus on what you want to teleport, if you aren’t teleporting yourself. Second, you focus on where you want it to go. Third, you use your magic to pull-slash-drag whatever is to be teleported to the destination. Like this.” She explains.
Twilight’s horn glows and she disappears in a little flash and a ‘crack’ sound. She reappears next to me.
“Remember, Jackson. Focus there, focus here, and then pull.” She reminds me.
I focus on my stuff at RD’s house. It pops up in my mind almost like a projector image. I focus on the tile at my feet. I grab the object with magic and pull on it hard. I hear a ‘crack’ and look at my feet.
‘Oh man, I’d utilize this spell daily if I ever went back. Even though I’d trade this for very few things in the universe’ I think. My Xbox 360 is lying at my feet, as well as my backpack and TV. I smile with pride, being the first human to probably use magic, let alone the teleport spell.
I hear Luna groan. “Jackson, why dost thy have the sucky Pbox 360. Thy internet costs many bits and there is not much variety in the games. A PonyStation 3 is much better than the junk thy calls a console.” She complained.
“Firstly, Princess Luna, this is an Xbox 360, not a Pbox 360. Second, the Xbox 360 from Earth is the second most popular console in our world, second only to the PlayStation 3. Although the PS3 internet is free, it’s slower.” I shoot down her complaints with well-backed facts.
Luna sighs in frustration. “Well, thy’s Xbox, as thee calls it, is old and damaged. We are amazed thy’s Xbox still plays games. Could we take it to Flim and Flam to repair it? The expenses will be on us.” Luna says.
“I’m surprised that it still works too.” I reply with amusement.
“Here, let us attempt to repair it for thee.” Luna says. Her horn glows a dark blue. My Xbox is levitated into the air, surrounded by the same deep blue glow. Luna’s face scrunches up in focus. I am still bored, so I grab my backpack and pull out my DSi. Immediately, all the ponies that aren’t doing anything flock to my sides and watch me play my game with great interest.
I turn it on and start playing Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky. I play for a few hours, and complete the main story in that time. I look up at Luna, wondering how she is doing on the repairs.
She is still focusing on my Xbox. ‘I hope it does work better when she’s done with it’ I think.
Yeah, man. Me too. I loved it when you let me help you kill terrorists in SOCOM 3: US Navy Seals, but that was on PlayStation 2. Rage said. I was surprised he would show his face at all after today. Or was it yesterday? I look at my phone. It is 2 am. Already a new day. Wow, I stayed up late.
‘First, Rage, I didn’t bring my PS2. Second, I am surprised you wanted to even talk to me today’ I think to him. I could tell he shrugged, so I let it go.
“Wow, do you all know what time it is?” I ask Chrysalis, Twilight, Rainbow, Pinkie, Spike, and Luna.
“It’s around 11:30 AM, isn’t it?” Rainbow said.
“No, its about 2 AM, RD.” I correct her.
“Two AM? I gotta go to bed; I’ll see you all later. I don’t want to wake up late for work.” Pinkie says. She trots out the door.
“oh man, I have a shift tomorrow. I guess I gotta go too. See ya later, J-man.” Rainbow says. She leaves right behind Pinkie and we hear her take off and the sound of her flapping wings slowly fades.
“I have studying to do tomorrow. Goodnight, Jackson. I hope you sleep well, if you do go to sleep, that is.” Twilight says. She trots up to her room and I hear her bedroom door close.
“What about you Spike? You gonna go to bed?” I ask him.
“Nah, I can stay up late like the rest-” he says, but he is cut off by snoring. I look at him. He’s out like a light, already deep in dreamland.
“Hmm, it’s just you, me, and Luna now, Chryssi, and it looks like Luna isn’t going to be done for a while. How about I take you up on that earlier offer? Hmm, whaddaya say?” I ask Chrysalis.
“welllll . . . why not? I’m going to enjoy this. Let’s hurry before Luna-” Chryssi is cut off by Luna.
“If Jackson is going to engage in intimacies with thee, Chrysalis, we should be before thee. And we cannot do that until we are finished with the repairs of this junk heap” Luna says while still focusing on my Xbox 360. “Although, we are nearly done with the repairs.”
“Good, I really wanted to play one of the other games I brought with me.” I say happily. “I don’t really have any other choices; I’m just going to take a nap. Wake me when the repairs are done.”
I lie down on the couch and close my eyes.
I wake up in a dreamscape that looks familiar to Ponyville. I walk into town and see all the mares that aren’t in a herd, relationship, or marriage in a line. I follow the line with my eyes and see a stage in the middle of Ponyville. The figure is too far away to recognize. I walk up the line, curious as to whom the figure is. The stage slowly gets bigger. I see the human on the stage a little clearer, but I don’t notice any physical traits at this distance.
Occasionally the line of mares moves forward. I walk alongside the mares, occasionally getting a sultry look from a mare or two as I pass by. I smile back when that happens. The mares I smile to look like they consider leaving the line to possibly rut me or something. I wasn’t sure. I quicken my pace after a few more contemplative looks from the mares. I stop smiling back shortly afterward. I jog slowly.
Eventually I see a few physical traits of this human on the stage. He/she looks to be wearing my clothing, even my hoodie. I can see the hood is up. I keep jogging. I am at the foot of the stage. The mares that talk to the clone of me, because that’s what the thing looks like to me, they run off the stage, crying or blushing after the clone and the mare are done talking.
I climb onto the stage and walk up next to the impostor. I look him/her square where her/his eyes would be and ask, “Who the hell are you? And why do you look like me?”
A dark, gravelly voice emanates from beneath the hood. “What did you say?”
“You heard me.” I say.
It pulls off its hood and turns towards me. I back up a few steps in fear. The face is something similar to an octopus; dark tendrils extend from the face and mouth. The eyes are a dark, evil green.
I wake up suddenly, gasping in fear, leaning up to a sitting position. Chrysalis is looking at me with fear and worry.
“What, you haven’t seen anypony have a nightmare before?” I ask roughly.
“I have, it’s just you were flailing around for the last few minutes.” She replies.
I look to the window. It is still dark out, but I can see it is a little lighter than earlier. I feel refreshed after my nap, but I my heart was still pounding from the fear caused by that . . . creature. I shudder slightly at the memory.
I look to where Luna was standing last night. She isn’t there. I look around the library. Luna is nowhere to be seen. The Xbox is lying right about where Luna had been standing.
“Where is Luna?” I ask Chrysalis.
“She was summoned to the castle by her sister, Celestia.” Chrysalis replied. I sighed.
“How many hours did I sleep?” I ask.
“Around three hours.” She replied.
I hear a thump in the direction of the door. After a few seconds, a familiar, silly, carefree feminine voice says, “Mail call.”
“I got it.” I say excitedly.
I open the door to see another one of my 13-plus favorite ponies; Derpy Hooves, the wall-eyed mailmare.
“Mail for Jackson Tyler.” Derpy says.
“That’s me. You’re Derpy Hooves, aren’t you? Have time to hang out for a bit?” I ask as I take my letter.
“Yup that’s me. I gotta go deliver more mail though. I get off at five. Meet me at Sugarcube Corner then, kay? It’s Jackson, right?” she asks, her golden-yellow eyes shining brightly, albeit in different directions.
“Yep. See you then, Derpy.” I say. She flies off, and I close the door. I am grinning from ear to ear.
“What’s that smile about?” Chrysalis asks with suspicion.
“I have a friend to hang out with later today.” I grin.
“Who with and why?” she asks with a little bit of malice in her voice.
“Do my ears deceive me, or is the great Chrysalis jealous?” I say naively. I grin with delight and let a small giggle escape my lips. Chrysalis rolls her eyes in annoyance.
The day passed really slowly.
I practiced magic with Twilight. Not very eventful, and quite easy.
I flew a little bit with Rainbow. I took it easy to not strain my wings too much [“c’mon, Jackson, I know you can keep up with me better than that.”].
I learned how to care for animals better with Fluttershy. I didn’t mind being corrected by the shy, beautiful Fluttershy, however stressed I was.
I went to Sweet Apple Acres to help Applejack with the apple bucking [“Nuthin like a good apple buckin’, ‘eh, Jackson?”]. I passed out from exhaustion about halfway through the orchard.
I headed back to Ponyville to get some clothes from Rarity [“You need a new wardrobe, young man”]. I was shy. . .
I took some minor baking lessons from Pinkie [“you have potential. You just need to practice more.”]. Not what I was best at, but I was holding back on my skills.
I talked with Chrysalis, at the library, too [“it was fun being the queen of the changelings. All the love to seek out and steal. Good times.”]. We were quite interesting to each other.
All the events I did with the ponies took an hour each, other than the time with Rarity, which took quite a few hours.
After talking with Chrysalis for about a half hour, I check the time with my phone. It is about four-thirty. I put my phone back into the pocket of my new jeans, and say, “Chryssi, I gotta get ready. I’ll be back about six or seven.” I head upstairs to the bathroom. I close the door and prepare a shower for myself.
After a quick five-minute shower, I hop out and walk nude to the room where my new clothes were. I didn’t mind getting seen nude by Chryssi because she was going to see it eventually anyway. I change into my special enchanted insulated jeans.
These jeans were especially enchanted to release heat on a hot day, but hold heat in on a cold day. It was the soft comfort of insulated jeans, without the problem of summer killing you with heat stroke.
I put on a good shirt, grab a can of Axe from my backpack, spray it on my chest in an “X”, and walk out of the bedroom. I head downstairs and leave the library.
“See ya later Chryssi. I’ll be back later tonight.” I say as I open the door.
