To the story!
A/N end
“I’ll go get a world map,” Twilight says, slightly annoyed. She walks over to a big-ass telescope I haven’t noticed before. She grabs a gigantic map off of a table next to the monster I could call a telescope, and brings it to the area we all stood or sat.
She places it in the middle of the room and I look at it closely.
“Okay there are many similarities to between Equis and my world, Earth. The shape of Equestria is similar to the shape of a continent on my planet. The country I lived in was called the United States of America, on the continent of North America.” I say with minor amazement.
I summon a translucent world map of Earth and place it over the world map of Equis. The similarities are astounding.
Saddle Arabia is nearly the same shape and size as Earth’s Saudi Arabia. Equis is actually about 90% the same as the United States.
Manehatten, Fillydelphia, and a few other cities are in the same spot, off by maybe a mile at maximum. Canterlot is in the same area as Washington DC. Ponyville would be in the perfect middle of the United States. All land is seemingly linked by natural land bridges.
I glance at the map scale out of boredom. I do a double-take. The size of Equis is not even a quarter of Earth’s size. No wonder it seemed off by a way I couldn’t place.
“Equis is about a fourth of Earth’s size. That is a big difference in sizes. No wonder Canterlot seemed so close. It would have been over 400 miles away on Earth. No way could I have spotted that from the middle of the US.” I think aloud in a mumble. “And all the countries of Equis are roughly proportionate to Earth’s countries, with very minor differences.”
“Well, sugarcube. Looks like yer ‘Earth’ might have a bit of a problem too. I overheard Celestia awhile back, while you were in yer coma, considerin’ ‘bout trackin’ yer DNA or sumthin’ the find yer planet, whatever DNA is.” Applejack said.
“Oh great. That means she’s gonna expect an attack on her person- er, pony, then. We’re gonna need some- no a lot of assistance. I have the perfect idea to help” I say. “Luna, can you hold something open for me? I don’t know if I could re-open it from where I’m going. And don’t worry, babes, these people are professionals. I just need them to stop feuding.” I say as I open a wormhole to the lands of Team Fortress 2.
I step in and feel a ripple go through my body as I pass through the portal. I believe my magic was unaffected. The portal seemed to be wavering slightly, but I have great faith in the Princess of the Night and the rest of my herd as well to keep it open long enough for my objective to be fulfilled.
I listen intently with magic-aided hearing. I hear nothing but a few shufflings and wind whistling through the dead trees.
I leap off the ledge. I fall for a second, and then I levitated myself to the ground. I look around curiously.
Nobody in sight. Good. I use my magic to track the location of the blue briefcase. I start walking to the location my magic compass leads me to. I begin wondering where everyone is.
Suddenly I hear a buzzing pass right by my ear, and then an explosion similar to a high-caliber rifle.
“Oh SHIT! FUCK! SHITSHITSHIT!” I say as I dive to cover, three more rounds firing right near my head and chest, barely missing me by inches.
I magic myself to bend light around me. I look at myself through a broken mirror shard nearby. All I see is a slight distortion where I am sitting. I smile and walk out of the cover I had dived to. I survey my surroundings slowly and carefully. After a good thirty seconds of searching, I spot a white light flashing every second or so.
“Hello, Sniper” I mumble evilly. I focus my energies to my hand and snap my fingers. I teleported to the room just outside of where the sniper sat. I perked my ears and listened to any sounds from inside the room.
“Where th’ hell did th’ little bugger go? I had ‘im in my sights perfec’ly an’ I missed ‘im. But he looked odd for any red mate of mine, or a blue, even. Wonder who or what he was. . .” An Australian voice said behind the closed door.
‘Yup, sniper’ I think to myself. I put a silence spell on my feet and the door. I grasp the handle and open the door slowly.
Once the door is wide enough to see into the room, my eyes widen. The form looking out the window on the other side of the room was an anthropomorph, and he had a big sniper in his arms.
He was an anthropomorph(see picture above). His clothes showed he was a red sniper, as I had gathered from his comment on my appearance.
I magic myself to look like a similar Anthro with red clothing and make myself visible. I use my best aussie accent and ask, “‘ey mate, got any good headshots yet?”
His reply surprised me. He said, “I know you are different, but you’re not a spy. Show me your true form. And before you ask, I could smell ya.” He said.
I cross my arms and magic back to human, speaking in my normal tone. “There, you happy? Nevermind, I need to speak with your employer. The one who makes you all fight all the time. You know where she is?”
“Nobody knows where she is. But we aren’t allowed to search for her either. Since you’re an outsider, you can look for her, but be warned. If she spots you on her cameras-” he is cut off by an intercom.
“Red team, blue team, there is an outsider in our midst. If you spot him, eliminate him. Whoever kills him gets a million dollar bonus to their salary for their next paycheck.” A female voice booms from an unseen intercom.
“I’ll pay you, your red buddies, and the blues, too, all trillions of dollars if you do this one thing for the world I came from. If red and blue work together, they are deadlier than just red or just blue. You all will be the scale-tipper of the battle.” I explain to the sniper in front of me before he does anything. “Plus, you won’t have to fight your brothers and shit like that. I don’t need to explain more, do I?”
“A trillion dollars? For all me mates? If you get rid of our employer, I’ll be your personal guard fer the rest o’ m’life, after the payment that is. My buddies will probably say that as well, but I’m not as sure about that.” He says to me. “now, let’s go meet the heavy” he jokes.
I catch on, but I didn’t let it show. “Lead the way,” I say.
We leave his tower and walk down to where the compass showed was directly away from the blue briefcase. I reprogram the mental compass to point to the red briefcase.
We are now headed to the red briefcase through the shadows of the arena. We finally reach the opposite end of the map and enter the base.
After a second, I hear a whirring little motor, and I raise a phase field to stop the bullets directed at me. I smirk. I release the stasis field and the bullets all drop to the ground. I use magic to pull the heavy in my direction and am face to face with his ugly mug.
“You shot at me.” I stated calmly. “Why?”
“Boss lady tell us to kill you on sight. I have no choice.” He said then sighed, knowing that his precious chain-gun was lying on the floor.
“No worries, I can help you all with your boss problems and pay you in the process. Here’s your gun.” I said.
I growled at him, “don’t shoot at me, or I will kill you with a pinch.”
“Okay, no bullets. What you want me to do?” he asked.
“For now, nothing. Sorry, but I need to meet the rest of your team.” I say. I look at the sniper, who seems to be in shock. I pat his cheek lightly, saying, “Hey, buddy, wake up. We still have work to do.”
He starts and frowns. “Where did you learn to do that? And what did you do to the bullets?”
“Magic, man. Magic. Wanna see more?” I ask.
Without getting an answer, I wave my hands in front of his face, saying, “There’s nothing in my hands, am I right?” showing the sniper nothing is in my hands. I move my arms straight out from my body in a ‘T’. I move my hands to point forward slowly.
As my hands stop at my direct front, in the rifle ready position, I summon the highest caliber pistol I am able to imagine: a 0.95 caliber weapon, just for the hell of it.
But it is no longer a gun, it’s a cannon!
I slowly tighten the trigger, holding the barrel (which is over one-and-a-half feet long and the steel around the exit of the barrel is two inches thick) tightly, pointing at a target over a quarter of a mile away.
The gun nearly disintegrates in my hands(as in, I see the steel billow and stretch after the shot leaves the barrel) as the bullet is propelled forward at over twice the speed of sound, and my arms are pulled backwards hard from the extreme kick of the gunpowder’s huge explosion.
After the bullet is shot, a gigantic poof of white smoke and a few yellow sparks follow the bullet at a quarter of the speed of sound. The explosion is unbearable for even the heavy’s ears, as he is seen clutching them.
I only withstand the loud explosion from the shields I raised around my ears at the last second before pulling the trigger.
The heavy and sniper are writhing on the ground in obvious pain, blood slipping past their hands, which are around their ears.
I bend down, open my palm, and use a heal spell on their ears quickly. Their faces go from pained contortion to contented relief.
The heavy speaks up after standing back up. “That is a good. . . ‘Spell’, would you call it?” He asks.
“Yep, it’s a spell, and I have many in my repertoire. Don’t ask too much about anything, it may leave you as a blabbering idiot.” I joke.
“Let’s have you meet the soldier.” Heavy states.
“Lead on, Heavy” I say, happy to finally meet the soldier.
After a few minutes wandering through the base, we come across the soldier.
“Hey guys watch this. Act like nothing is going on.” I say.
I transform to the same exact appearance as the soldier. My clothes match his perfectly, from the thread count to the sweat and grime built up in it. I cast a spell on my voice to make it exactly like his.
I walk up behind him and say, “At-ten-HUT!”
He spins around frantically and salutes me with the perfect salute.
“At ease soldier. You understand that there is an outsider in the arena?” I ask, my voice spell working perfectly.
“YES, SIR!” he shouts in reply.
“I have new orders for you from a higher position.” I say. I magically transform to my regular appearance, making it look as different as a spy’s transformation as I can. His eyes widen. I continue in the soldier’s voice.
“I command you to work under me! If you defy these orders, you are to be used as sandvitch meat for the next battle. Do you understand that?!” I yell at him.
“Huh, you’re the outsider? Seems more like a spy to me. . .” he trails off, unknowingly making it obvious he didn’t trust me and was going to kill me. I cast a spell to slow down time to quarter speed.
I prepared the stasis field spell, and cast it as soon as I heard the click of a hammer being released by a trigger being pulled. A slowed-down resounding boom of a shotgun went throughout the immediate vicinity. The shotgun pellets stopped perfectly between us, an inch from my gut, an inch out of the barrel of his shotgun. I let time resume to normal speed.
“Want to try that again, maggot?” I ask as I release the stasis field, letting the shotgun pellets fall to the floor with multiple light tapping sounds.
“How did you do that? I shot at you from point blank range.” He complained.
“Magic. You follow and help me and I pay you a trillion dollars, each” I reply, bored already. “Come on, soldier, heavy, sniper. We gotta speak with the other six on your team. Let’s get this over with.”
