Beep
The columbia blue pegasus grunted and shifted in her bed, burying herself deeper in the covers in an attempt to get away from the noise that had been going on for the past 5 minutes.
Beep
Her eyes tightened as she attempted to salvage some sleep from the deep corners of her mind. He placed her pillow over her ears in an attempt to block it out.
Beep
She rolled over and a lancing pain shot through her side. She flung her pillow to the side and it connected solidly with the heart monitor, knocking it over but not quite breaking it.
Beep
"BUCK!" She swore and looked at her side, magenta eyes widening in shock when she saw what was there. Her wing as bandaged to her side, held shut by the white cloth bandages. She groaned and flopped back onto the bed, cursing heart monitors and whatever had gotten her in here. She could faintly remember a Sonic Rainboom and the clouds approaching very fast. There was a brown blur she couldn't get a grasp on before her memories went blank.
She turned her head when she heard a door opening and looked at the Doctor with an annoyed look.
"Good to see you again Miss Rainbow Dash, though I suppose it could've been a happier occasion." He chuckled, walking over and tucking his wings at his sides. He was rather on the scrawny side with a pale red coat. His mane was silver, almost white and went down just below his ears and spiked up at the front. His cutie mark was a stethoscope with two medical needles crossed in an X shape behind it.
Rainbow's mood wasn't improved. "Give it to me straight Doctor Monitor. How'd I crash and how bad is it?" She asked curtly, sitting up and looking at him with an expectant look on her face.
The Doctor walked over and sat down beside her bed. "You were trying to do a spinning Sonic Rainboom, long story short you lost control and smashed right through the clouds. Lucky for you there was a stallion who'd been flying by and he managed to catch you before you hit the ground," He paused and his expression lightened a bit as he went on, "The good news is that it's only a sprain and you should be out and about in a few days. Bad news is until then, no flying. At all." He emphasized, pointing at the bandages.
Rainbow nodded before she turned back to him. "Who saved me?" She inquired, curiosity piqued. She decided she would have to go thank the mysterious pegasus stallion for saving her flank.
"I believe his name was... Dumb Bell."
If it was possible, the multi hued maned pegasus's jaw would've smacked to the floor. She knew Dumb Bell all too well. He was a dark brown pegasus stallion with a sand-colored mane. He also had a habit of picking on her. A LOT. Her surprise faded and she looked at him in confusion. "But Dumb Bell hates me. Why would he save me?" She asked.
Doctor Monitor chuckled. "Just because he dislikes you doesn't mean he wants you to die." He chuckled. "You can go now though, a sprain isn't something to keep you in a hospital for." He informed her, giving the pegasus a warm smile. "Just stay off that wing for a few days and come back after that so we can check on it." He added.
