Twilight (pov).

What seemed like hours was only a few minutes as she continued her way into a main clearing of what looked like a lightning field.

“Well, I don't know much about this place, but it is safe to say that I am walking into a death trap. The manakins are getting stronger,” she said out loud as she slammed her hooves into one as it disappeared. “Well, I hate this and being separated from Sweetie Belle is killing me here.”

“What have we here?” said the all too familiar voice of Lightning Dust. “Another opponent for me to beat down, it seems.” He watched Twilight come into view. “Oh, this is too perfect.”

“Lightning dust, why are you here and why do you look so different?” Twilight asked, looking at her armor.

“Hmm, seems like the mare is clueless. Let me make it simple; I was given power by someone who said I would get a chance at Rainbow Dash for making me look like a fool at the Wonderbolt Academy.”

“So it's revenge you want, huh? Well not on my watch! Lightning Dust, prepare yourself!”

Lightning Dust started to fly around the lightning field as twilight gave chase, shooting off rounds of fire and water, trying to hit her rival.

“Twilight, seems your aim sucks and believe me, I know, 'cause your attacks aren't hitting their marks at all,” Lightning laughed.

“She is going to be hard to hit, 'cause she can fly,” Twilight told herself as she leaped at Lightning and planted a hoof across her skull, sending her opponent downward.

“So Twilight has some fight in her it seems. Well I am going to end this quick!” Lightning exclaimed as she shot a lightning blast at the now falling Twilight. Before it made contact Applejack bucked the lightning back at the now shocked Lightning Dust as Applejack let out a good ol' “yeehaw!”

“Well buck, this didn't end well now, did it Lightning Dust?” Gamebug stated, appearing next to the fallen mare.

“Buck off Gamebug, this is my fight not yours.”

“Quite the contrary, my dear. This isn't your fight, nor is it mine so we best be going or the boss is going to skin us like yesterdays chicken and believe me, she is one mare I don't want to cross.”

Lightning only nodded as she and Gamebug left the battlefield.

“Thanks Applejack,” Twilight said gratefully. “I don't know how much longer I would have lasted.”

“Aww shucks Twi, I had to help a friend in need and besides, your opponent is going to be a pain to beat, I reckon.”

“True and how did you find me?” twilight asked, sighing.

“Oh, I was following the wind and it lead me here. I got separated from Scootaloo as I entered a volcano area of sorts and been fighting those buckin' manakins.

Making their way to shelter, Twilight was skittish. A lot had happened the last few days, so she explained what had happened and she was separated from Sweetie Belle the same way that AJ got separated from Scootaloo.

“Hmm, seems we gotta do the cutie mark thing alone or something like that, or is it me that Gamebug appears to confuse us even further?” AJ said grumpily but kept her calm.

“I agree, obtaining our cutie marks we got to do alone, but we need support from friends, otherwise we are doomed.”

“I know Twi, but we don't know how to get 'em and I'm still confused over the crystals we have. I don't know how much more I can take.”

“For now, lets sleep and talk in the morning,” twilight said as she laid her head down, falling asleep nearly instantly. Both mares slept the entire night away.

Meanwhile across the plane.

“Stupid fool, you let Twilight escape again! Must I do everything myself?” Trixie huffed.

“You said you wanted to beat her to a bloody pulp, so I decided to step in before things got any worse, before lightning killed her,” Gamebug retorted.

“Well, you did well and seems like the lightning fields will be the battleground for me and Twilight's battle to come. Make sure you get Applejack away from her long enough for me to finish what I started.”

“Yes miss Trixie,” Gamebug said to her as he put applejack in a cage, saying “Trixie, it is your time to shine so have at it.”

Meanwhile back in the shelter.

Morning broke as Twilight, who seemed to not want to wake up, noticed her counterpart was missing.

“AJ, where are you?” she called out. “Seriously, where are you?”

She stopped for a few minutes and nothing, so she decided to storm the plains in search of her friend. “Princess, what do I do?” Twilight said aloud.

A bright flash and the princess appeared.

“My dearest Twilight Sparkle, do not fret; you will be okay.”

“But princess, I am alone and lost, how do I find what is lost?” Twilight asked, sobbing.

“Follow your heart and find the strength inside you, for there you will find your answer,” Celestia said to her student.

“So follow my heart, and it will lead the way. I got it and I know what to do,” she said as she ran to a mountain.

“So you finally make it here,” Trixie said, “I was starting to wonder if it was to much.” Trixie's evil laugh was visible.

“Trixie! You were behind this from the beginning, weren't you?”

“Indeed I was Twilight, and you fell for my traps more times than i could count! But that matters not now, 'cause I plan on making you pay for kicking me out of Ponyville!” Trixie roared.

So it's a fight you want? Well you shall get it Trixie, now bring it on!”
