Friendship is Painfully Misleading.
Friendship is Painfully Misleading
"Good morning, Vinyl." Octavia greeted Vinyl at the check out desk of the music store. Octavia needed to pick up a new rosin for her bow, so she thought she'd at least see her friend at the time.
"Oh, hey Octy. What's up?" She returned.
"I need a new rosin for my cello bow. Can I get a...discount?" She asked secretively.
"Hello, sorry to interrupt." Said a young stallion. He had deep red fur, and long black mane. Octavia froze in awe as this stallion was blessed to her eyes.
"Oh, yeah what can I help you with?" Vinyl asked.
"Well, I was wondering if you guys have a certain model of Ibanez electric guitars."
"Oh, our guitar guy is over there. He should be able to help you out." Vinyl directed near the amplifier section.
"Oh, thank you." He returned.
Vinyl looked back at Octavia who sat still like a statue with red cheeks. Her vision was stuck, and she didn't seem to move. She had a look of complete, and utter "HOLY SHIT!" on her face.
"Uh...you okay?" Vinyl said with a look of slight concern.
"Who.....was that?" She asked with her expression still frozen like invisible ice.
"I don't know. A stallion that plays guitar I guess." She said, then walking back to the register.
"So about that rosin, I could help....you..." Vinyl soon realized that Octavia had walked away, to catch up with the stallion that had asked about the guitar. "oh, boy. Let me get the popcorn." She joked to herself.
Octavia caught up with him. "Um, excuse me?" She tried to get his attention.
"Oh, hey. How are you?" He asked.
Octavia thought to herself before saying any words. "Dear, lord. He's hot, a guitarist, AND well-mannered? This...is gonna be....awesome."
"Are you new around here?" She asked curiously.
"Oh, yes. How did you know?" He asked, showing somewhat of a smile.
"Well, I know all the musicians around here. I haven't seen you before, so I just thought I'd get to know you." SHe said politely. As if it weren't obvious from the start, Octavia is trying to score.
"Oh, well, I'm String Bearer." He said. "I'm a guitarist that plays metal music. I love it. How about you?"
"I'm Octavia." She said blushing. "I play the cello, and I'm a classical fan."
"Oh, wow." He said. "Maybe you and I could mix the genres...if you know what I mean." Octavia began to blush.
"Oh..." She said. Vinyl coughed loudly in the distance. Octavia also heard a few chuckles. "Meet me at my place later today. I live right across from the library, House number 26."
"Oh, alright. How's 3:30 sound?" He asked.
"That sounds great." Octavia confirmed. "But, do you think you could play some guitar for me?" She asked, glancing at the guitar amps. The cool thing about the Ponyville music store was that you had permission to use their equipment. String nodded, and went over to the guitar wall, grabbing an Ibanez guitar.
After setting up the amp to his liking, and tuning the guitar to Drop B tuning, String turned to the metal settings, and began to shred like a guitar god. He did speedy riffs, and sweep picking. His hooves could have been mistaken for fingers he was so good.
Octavia stared in awe as this stallion made the guitar sing like an angel with distortion settings. It was amazing. As he was still playing Octavia said to herself: "I'm...not...dry... at all..."
String stopped, and said he'd be at her place later. "See ya then." He waved as he walked out.
Octavia sat there frozen like a statue with her jaw dropped. Vinyl came over laughing. "Man.... I almost ran out of popcorn there." She joked. "Don't worry, I'll be working the later shift tonight as well. That way you'll have plenty of alone time." She laughed hysterically. Customers stared at her in puzzlement.
After walking away Octy STILL stood there frozen. I think it's safe to say her body wasn't ready.
3:25. Octavia was anticipating the coming minutes with pure anxiety. Every second seemed to drag on ten times slower with every minute he didn't knock on the door.
3:31, a knock on the door. It was immediately answered. "Why are you late!?" She almost shouted. "I mean, um...come in String Bearer." He walked in, and Octavia had a devious smile on her face as he walked passed her. As she checked out every detail of his figure.
"So...Are you ready to...make some amazing music?" She asked with a sexual implication.
"Oh....you bet!" He smiled back. "Let me just go grab my guitar from my cart, I forgot to bring it in." He walked out of the door again.
"He's joking right?" She asked herself.
"Alright, I got it." He said walking back in. He was greeted with the most random outfit she had quickly put on. A kinky shirt, and some matching socks.
"He's not even blushing" She thought to herself.
"What is...that...for?" He asked in confusion.
"Y-you're kidding right? I mean, what do you think this is for?" She asked with irritation in her voice.
"Oooooooooh!" He said suddenly realizing the sexual meaning behind all of this. "So, you just wanted...sex?" He asked raising an eye brow.
"Well....kinda." She said.
"Well, I'm sorry, I can't." He said, opening the door, and walking outside.
"Am I not pretty to you?" She said with a suddenly sad tone.
"No, it's not that at all....it's just..." He contemplated his next words. "I'm gay." The words struck Octavia like a brick to the head.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to lead you on." He said, now closing the door.
At that very moment, Octavia was now mentally rage-quitting. But that's not even the beginning of it. Not only did she imagine flipping a table, she was flipping a thousand lined up tables in a domino effect, leading to a skyscraper of wooden tables, which collapsed and exploded as an atomic bomb hit all of them. Then taking all the ashes and throwing them in a dumpster, which is then lit on fire by discord, then taking THOSE ashes, and blasting them to the moon.
Friendship definitely CAN be misleading
