“Guys, stop and think for a second!   This is a really bad idea!”   Twilight Sparkle exclaimed.

“It sounds like a pretty good idea to me!   We’re not the only ones who are annoyed by it!”   Applejack argued.

“I think we should too.   I don’t like it when she teases me for not being able to fly well.”   Fluttershy added.

“And the way she shows off in front of everypony with no remorse just angers me!   She reminds me of Trixie!”   Rarity chimed in.

“You have to think this through!   She’s our friend, and if we did that to her, the Elements of Harmony would be disbanded!”   Twilight raved.

Twilight, Fluttershy, Applejack, Rarity and Pinkie Pie were gathered in Twilight’s library in the middle of the night for discussion.   The four had entered to lodge some complaints.

“It doesn’t seem that being her friend makes a difference to her.   She treats us like acquaintances that she can brag to, and nothing more.”   Rarity explained.

“Well, being the Element of Loyalty doesn’t necessarily mean being the nicest pony in Equestria.”   Twilight mentioned.

“She can start by being decent!”   Rarity blurted.

“Just stop it!   You can’t do that to her!”   Twilight responded.

“That Lightning Dust pony she met at the Wonderbolt Academy wants to do it too.   She didn’t like it when she humiliated her.   Also, when me and Rarity go to the spa, we hear negative gossip about her coming from other ponies.”   Fluttershy added.

Twilight put a hoof to her face.

“There has to be at least one of you who still likes her enough to think this is a bad idea.”

All four of them shook their heads.

“What about you, Pinkie?   You haven’t said anything yet.”   Applejack asked.

       Pinkie shrugged.

“I don’t really know why.   I just want to kill Rainbow Dash like the rest of you do.”

       Rarity loudly shushed her.

“Not so loud, dear.   We don’t know if anyone is listening.”

“What has gotten into you guys?!   You can’t just mindlessly kill our friend because she’s arrogant and self-centered!”

“Well I think we’d all be better off without her.   And when I say that, I’m speaking for about half of Ponyville.”   Applejack stated.

       “What?”

Applejack held up a petition for Twilight to see.   The document was peppered with about a couple hundred signatures, all from ponies she knew around town.   Even Scootaloo had signed the petition.   At the bottom, in big bold lettering, was Lightning Dust’s name.

“How could all these ponies want Rainbow Dash dead?”   Twilight asked in awe.

“How should we know?   Why don’t you ask them?”   Applejack responded.

“I still remember the time when Trixie said she was better than everyone, and Rainbow said that was her job.   Then she just HAD to perform that water-droplet-rainbow trick that we’ve seen a million times.”   Rarity sighed.

“And that time when she showed off after cheating at the Iron Pony Competition.   She kept claiming that she was way better than me, but she would’ve lost without her wings!”   Applejack added.

“Oh, and her username on Mario Kart 7 is ImBetterThanU!”   Pinkie Pie exclaimed.

       Fluttershy smiled.

       “I like that game.”

“Don’t you remember all the times she called you an egghead?   And when she made fun of you for wanting to join the Running of the Leaves?”   Applejack asked.

Twilight had to admit that that was kind of annoying at times.   But it wasn’t worth killing her over!

       She sighed.

“I will not allow it.   As long as I stand on four hooves, you will not be killing Rainbow Dash.”

       The four exchanged glances.

…………………………………………

“Hey, what are you doing?!   Let me go!”

Twilight struggled at the ropes that had her tied to a chair in the middle of the room.   Rarity consulted one of Twilight’s books, and had managed to cast an anti-magic bubble around her so she couldn’t use magic.

“This is absurd!   Stop this!   It won’t benefit anyone!”

“Don’t worry.   We’ll let you go when we’re done.”   Fluttershy promised.

“Fluttershy!   Please tell them to stop!   Rainbow Dash couldn’t have done anything bad to you!”

“Rainbow Dash doesn’t like me because I can’t fly well.   She would make fun of me at times.   And she tried to force me into attending that scary dragon migration.”

“We’ll catch you later Twilight.”   Applejack said.

“No!   Please!   Don’t harm Rainbow Dash!”

Twilight struggled at her bonds as the four friends walked out the door into the cool night.

………………………………………

The streets of Ponyville were dark and quiet.   A cool, moist fog hung in the air, giving the landscape an eerie appearance.   The four ponies walked through the streets to a designated rendezvous point.

“Did you bring the bits, Rarity?”   Fluttershy asked.

“Yes.   I have them right here.”

Rarity used her magic to pull out a large pouch of bits out of her saddlebag.

The four turned off the street and into a hidden alley.   There, they met up with a turquoise pegasus sporting a golden mane.

“Hey guys, good to see you again.”   Lightning Dust greeted.

“Are you sure you want to do this?   I mean, we could…”

“Not a problem.   I’m going to enjoy giving that rainbow punk what’s coming to her.   Now let’s see those funds.”

Rarity used her magic to levitate the bag of bits over to Lightning Dust.

“Aw yeah!   Pleasure doing business with you!”

Without giving them a chance to respond, Lightning Dust flew off toward Rainbow Dash’s house.

…………………………………………

Approaching Rainbow Dash’s bedroom window, Lightning took out a glass cutter that she had bought for the occasion.   Looking inside, she saw Rainbow Dash peacefully sleeping on her bed.

Being very careful not to wake her, Lightning pressed the cutter to the window, and made a very large circular incision in the glass.   When she had finished, the circular remain fell inward, and hit the floor with a thud.

Lightning Dust gasped, and quickly ducked below the window.   Rainbow Dash snorted a little, and turned over on her side.

Once the coast was clear, Lightning Dust climbed into the hole she had made, and had entered Rainbow Dash’s bedroom.   Wonderbolts posters were hung all over the walls.

Lightning slowly tiptoed around to the other side of Rainbow Dash’s bed.   She grabbed one of the spare pillows, and walked back around to Rainbow Dash’s side.

“Goodbye Rainbow Dash.”   Lightning whispered to herself.

Lightning pressed the pillow to Rainbow Dash’s face, and pushed down with all her might.

It didn’t take long for Rainbow Dash to wake up and figure out what was going on.   She began to kick her hooves around, and make muffled noises into the pillow.   She frantically flapped her wings.

       “Mmm, mmm!   Mmm!   Mmm!”

Lightning Dust had a quick shimmer of doubt, but quickly discarded it.

“This is for humiliating me back at the Wonderbolt Academy!”   She exclaimed.

After a minute or two, Rainbow Dash suddenly stopped moving.   Her wings and hooves fell limp.

Lightning Dust slowly removed the pillow.   Rainbow Dash’s face was completely unchanging.

She brushed her hoof over Rainbow’s eyes, and they closed.   Rainbow Dash was dead.

Lightning sighed, knowing her dastardly deed was complete.   She just had one question that stuck in her mind.

“Why did Rainbow Dash’s friends pay me to kill her?”

…………

Meanwhile, off in the distance, Discord lied on a cloud in view of Rainbow’s house, laughing.

“Chaos is a wonderful, wonderful thing!”

He snapped his fingers, and vanished.

Author Notes:

I’m expecting this to receive a lot of dislikes.   And that’s perfectly okay.

For the record, although Rainbow Dash is my favorite pony, her arrogance sometimes annoys me.
