It's About Time

Uncontrolled Rage

Previous Chapter

Later that night, after the four friends had left to get their much-needed sleep, Twilight stayed up to do some late-night studying.   She had promised them that she would look into brainwashing spells, and find out who could’ve tricked them into killing Rainbow Dash.

While she was working, however, there was a knock on the door.

“Who could possibly be at my door at this hour?”

Twilight trudged over to the door, opened it to greet her visitor, and nearly jumped out of her skin.

“Twilight, can we talk?”   Rainbow Dash asked sternly.

“R…Rainbow Dash?!   How in Equestria are you alive?!   This is not scientifically possible!”   Twilight stammered.

Rainbow Dash gave her a suspicious glare.

“How do YOU know about my attempted murder?   Were you in on it?”

Rainbow’s glare along with the gravity of the situation was making Twilight sweat bullets.   Rainbow Dash was either a zombie, or……alive.   Actually alive.

       “Uh, no.   Of course not!”

Rainbow gave her an even tougher stare.

“Earlier in the night, Lightning Dust broke into my house and tried to suffocate me.   I could tell it was her because of the sound of her voice and the fact that she said I humiliated her at the Wonderbolt Academy.   How could you know about this?”

“Listen, I would never want to kill you, or any other pony in existence.   Our four friends came into my house, and told me that they were going to kill you because you annoyed them.   I tried to stop them, but they tied me up and put a magic bubble around me.   I think they were brainwashed or something!”

Rainbow Dash snarled.   She turned around, and stormed out the door.

       “Rainbow Dash, wait!”

It was too late.   By the time Twilight had followed her out the door, she had already flown away.

…………………………………………

Fluttershy was just climbing up the stairs to finally get some rest for the night.   Everything had been taken care of.   She had fed Angel, gotten all the other pets situated for the night, and cleaned the house.   She was more than ready for sleep.

Suddenly, her front door was kicked right off the hinges with a deafening crack.   Fluttershy squealed, and put her hooves over her head.

       “Fluttershy, where are you?”

Fluttershy was surprised.   She recognized that voice anywhere.

“Rainbow Dash, is that you?   I can’t believe you’re alive!”   She exclaimed.

“Save me the crap, Fluttershy.   Why’d you do it?”   Rainbow snapped.

Fluttershy flinched at Rainbow’s angry response.

“Do what?   What’d I do?   Oh, please don’t be mad at me!”

“It’s a little too late for that, Fluttershy.   Why did you pay Lightning Dust to kill me?   I thought you loved me!”

       Fluttershy blushed a little.

“Rainbow Dash, it’s not like that.   I don’t remember doing any of that!”

“Then how come Twilight told me that all of you were in on my attempted murder?”

“She suggested that we were all brainwashed or something.   She’s looking into it right now.   The only one of us that actually wanted you dead was Lightning Dust.”

“Lightning Dust?   Oh, when I get my hooves on her……”

“Please stop being angry!   Just be glad you’re still alive, because I know I am.”

“You know me, Fluttershy.   When someone like her threatens someone like me, it’s going to get ugly.”

Fluttershy sighed.   It wasn’t going to be easy to convince her that violence isn’t the answer.

“So you’re sure that you or any of the others besides Lightning Dust don’t remember trying to kill me?”   Rainbow asked.

       “Yes, I’m sure.”

       Rainbow sighed.

“Okay then, I believe you.   Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go dislocate Lightning Dusts’ skull.”

Before Fluttershy could stop her, Rainbow Dash swung around in one step, and walked out the door.

…………………………………………

Lightning Dust warily looked out all of the windows to make sure no one was watching her.   After she did this, she closed all the blinds and turned off all the lights.   She locked both the front door and the back door.

With Rainbow Dash dead now, the authorities would certainly be on her case.   She wasn’t sure how they would track her down over a pillow-suffocating incident, but she had to be as secure as possible.

“Now I just have to lay low until this whole thing blows over…”   She sighed to herself.

She trudged over to the kitchen to make herself a cup of coffee.   She planned on getting little sleep over the next couple weeks just to be sure nothing happens to her.

For a moment, she felt like she was being a little too paranoid about this whole thing.   She just shrugged it off, and tried to reassure herself.

She glanced over to the pouch of bits that rest on the dining room table, and smiled.   It must’ve been a big hassle for that group of friends to work up fifteen-hundred bits just so she could kill Rainbow Dash.   In her opinion, Rainbow Dash was worth way less than that.

There was a very loud knock at the door.   Lightning Dust froze.

A few seconds later, there was another knock, although this one was more like a pound.   Lightning Dust opened one of the kitchen drawers, and pulled out a very large steak knife.   It was a very rare belonging that she only kept in case of dangerous moments like this one, considering that ponies don’t eat meat.

Very slowly and carefully, Lightning Dust approached the front door.   She grabbed the knob, turned it ever so quietly, and opened the door.

Lightning’s jaw went slack, and she dropped the steak knife.

“Hey, Lightning Dust.   Did you miss me?”   Rainbow Dash exclaimed through gritted teeth.

       “R…R…Rainbow Dash?   H…how are you…”

“Oh, shut up.   Please save me the trouble of having to answer your petty question.”

“But this is impossible!   You should be dead!”

“Well, apparently I’m still standing, so that can’t possibly be true.”

“I watched you die with my own two eyes!”   Lightning Dust exclaimed.

“You listen to me, you pathetic incompetent little freak.   You DIDN’T get the job done.   I realized what was going on, and decided to fake my death.   That whole thing where my body suddenly went limp?   I did that on purpose.   Looks like you forgot to check my pulse!”

Lightning Dust was without words.   She stuttered, and nervously shuffled with her hooves.

“And now it’s time for some vice versa.”   Rainbow stated threateningly.   She slowly advanced toward Lightning Dust, who was backing away at the same pace.   Rainbow picked up the steak knife, laughing hysterically.
