I'm not a morning person. I am a huge grump. I just trudge my way through school, almost falling asleep instantly when I get home. Most of the time, when I don't have homework, I surf YouTube for episodes of my favorite show. Now, since I'm fourteen, you might think that I'm into shows that have a LOT of messed up stuff. Well, do you think pastel and rainbow ponies are messed up? I thought not. I mostly just draw, post the fan art I draw on Deviantart, and browse on sites like FIMfiction.net and Equestria Daily. It's the nighttime that makes me the happiest. The black sky, the silver stars that shine. I remind myself of princess Luna... Well, anyways. Like every other pegasister, I dream of going to Equestria. Who doesn't? I mean, exploring magic, flying, the Wonderbolts for Celestia's sake, and everything a brony could dream of. My favorite ponies are.... All of them. One does not simply choose a favorite pony. I was sleeping peacefully when a stinging, pulsing pain occurred on my forehead. I reached a drowsy hand up to feel what it was, and felt a lump forming. It didn't feel like much at the time, so I didn't mind it at all. I went back to sleep quietly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A sweet, chipper voice woke me up. "Hello there! Are you alright, miss Blue mare?" I opened my eyes, and found myself staring into a pair of pale yellow ones. "AHH!" "I'm sorry! I didnt mean to scare you! I was just on my way to a delivery, and I saw you out here. Are you ok?" I rubbed my head, I had a faint headache. "Yeah. I think I'm alright." Inheard the sound of flapping wings. "Good to hear that. My names Derpy Hooves!" "Nice to meet you Der- Wait, did you say Derpy Hooves?" "Um, yeah. I think you might have hit your head a little." "No, I didnt. It's nice to finally meet you Derpy." The gray mare scrunched up her face. "You're weird, you know that?" 'Youre not so normal yourself, DERPY.' I wasn't trying to be mean, but I was offended by her calling me weird. "What's YOUR name anyways?" I put a hand on my chin. It felt flat, and I couldn't feel my fingers. I looked down slowly, and almost fell over. I had hooves. Like, PONY hooves. Covered in soft, navy blue fur. "Um, Derpy... Could you tell me where I am?" I took a cautious look around. I was surrounded by dark trees. "I'm in the Everfree forest?!" Due to a horrible experience with past fan stories, I wanted to avoid the Everfree at all costs. I had no desire whatsoever to encounter zombie ponies. NO. THANK. YOU. "Derpy, could you help me? This is the first time I've ever been in here. Can you guide me to Ponyville?" Derpy cocked her head over to the side a little. "How did you know Ponyville was over here?" "I don't know, really." Derpy gave me a bright smile. "Ok, I guess the delivery can wait for a little longer. Come on, it's this way!" She flew up higher into the sky, guiding me around by occasionally shouting directions. She was so smart for such a wall-eyed pony. I was extremely grateful to her. As soon as I was out of the Everfree forest, I gave her a quick hug and waved as she flew off to complete her delivery. I caught sight of Fluttershy's cottage, and my heart longer to see what she was really like. I wondered what every animal would look like. I began walking to the path near her house. She was in her backyard, feeding her animals. I looked up at the sky, covering my eyes as the sun glared into them. Judging by the suns position, I guessed it was about lunchtime. I felt a pair of eyes trained on me. A small white bunny was looking up at me suspiciously. I bent down, petting his head gently with a hoof. I heard Fluttershy's soft voice calling out for her little Angel bunny. I called out to her, and her eyes turned to me. She fluttered over to where Angel and I were standing. "Oh, I'm so sorry miss. Angel bunny here is kind of protective towards me. I'm so sorry..." I put a hoof on her shoulder. "Fluttershy, it's ok." Her look brightened up, and she brought her face out from behind her long pink mane. "Oh, ok. What's your name? I don't think I've seen you around here before..." I thought of something quickly. I remembered the color of my fur, and thought of the night sky. He fur ended above my hoof, which was where it became a silvery turquoise color. I definitely had a horn. I must have been transformed into a unicorn pony... I looked into a puddle, and saw that my eyes were a fiery red, and my mane was white with gold and orange streaks. "I'm Star Fire." "That's a pretty name..." "Really? Thanks, Fluttershy. Ponyville is this way, right?" I pointed in the direction where I thought Ponyville was. She nodded. "Yes, that's right." My stomach grumbled loudly, and my headache persisted. I clenched my teeth, putting a hoof against my forehead. "Are you ok? You don't look so good... I mean..." I grimaced, slowly removing my hoof. "Yeah, I think I'm alright. Im going to go head into Ponyville now. Thank you for your concern anyways." She gave me a small smile and waved as I walked away. She is the element of kindness after all. I entered Ponyville, gasping at the tall buildings. They were much taller than in the show. Multicolored ponies walked all around. I could recognize a few of them. I saw Carrot Top, Berry Ounch, Big Macintosh, Lyra and Bon-Bon, and even more. I lay down on a nearby bench, flinching as another headache pulsed inside my head. Another bright, cheery voice resounded in my ears. It was unmistakably- "Helloooooo! I've never seen you before and that means you must be new so I've gotta go throw you a party now so you can feel welcomed into Ponyville-" The bright pink pony sped off before I could respond. I slowly got up and began walking. I began thinking to myself, drifting off into deep thought.
I found myself at the door of Twilight's library after what seemed like forever. Shrugging, I knocked on the door. I heard Spikes voice call out "I'll get it!" The tiny purple dragon opened the door, looking confused at the sight of me. "Umm, Twilight? Were you expecting somebody from Canterlot?" The lavender unicorns voice answered him. "The only thing I ordered from Canterlot was more paper and quills." Spike looked back over his shoulder. "Well, there's a strange unicorn outside our door..." "Twilight, I need help." Silence followed for a bit, then she responded. "Ok. Come in." I entered the door gratefully. She levitated a cushion under me as I sat down. "Who are you? I've never seen a unicorn with your coloring before. And how do you know my name?" "Twilight... I'm not for anywhere in Equestria. I woke up in the afternoon in the middle of the Everfree forest, Derpy found me and guided me to the outskirts of the forest so that I could find my way to Ponyville from here. I was a human before this. I dont know what happened,or why I'm suddenly a pony, but..." Twilight cut me off. "Slow down. You said you were a human?" I nodded. "This is strange indeed... Spike!!! Get me some books on the universe! I'm going to be up late tonight!" Twilight suddenly seemed determined to help me, which I found weird. She shooed me out the door, saying that I should probably find some place to stay, as well as something to eat. I remembers my rumbling stomach, and blushed slightly. I trotted through Ponyville, trying to find a decent café. I was lucky enought to find one just as the moon began to rise. I knocked on the door, and they let me in as the last customer of the day. A unicorn levitated a menu with his magic, and I looked it over as he left. "Daisy sandwich... Dandelion salad... Hay fries..." When the waiter came back, I ordered the Daisy sandwich with hay fries. To my surprise, it was delicious. I inhaled it like a vacuum cleaner. When the same micron came to collect my bits, I realized something. I had no bits whatsoever. "Umm, uh..." I heard an elegant voice come from behind my seat. The elegant white unicorn known as Rarity stood under an umbrella. "Don't worry, darling. I'll lay for you. She levitates some bits out of a pouch with her pale blue magic. The waiter seemed satisfied and trotted off, hanging a Closed sign as he left. "Oh dear, you're positively soaked! Please, allow me to bring you to my house to dry off." "Thanks...?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rarity opened the door to Carousel Boutique, taking off her wet umbrella. She took a fluffy towel and wiped me down, at least taking the water off. I was cold from being out in the rain for a while, and I sneezed. Rarity performed what I assumed was a Warmth spell, because I felt waves of hot energy pulsing through me. She brought me a cup of warm tea, and I took it gratefully. "Oh dear, are you alright? You look absolutely dreadful!" "I don't now, Rarity." "I never told you my name..." Oh, pony feathers. "I could tell who you are. You're quite the famous fashion pony, you know. The vain white unicorn tossed her mane. "Why, thank you darling. I try my best. Do you have any place to stay here in Ponyville?" I gave a nervous smile. "Heh-heh... No." She gasped. "Oh darling, why didn't you tell me? You can stay here until you find a place for yourself." "Really? Thank you so much Rarity!"She grinned. "It's alright, dear. Nopony should have to be forced to sleep in the rain." She told me to go to the spare room. I opened to door. It was quite fancy. I was glad to sink into the bed and fall asleep.

The sweet smell of pancakes baking made me walk down the stairs after brushing my mane. Those mysterious headaches seemed to fade away because they didn't happen all that often anymore. I could barely remember being a... What was it called again? Well, whatever. What was important now was to eat some bucking pancakes!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\
I was deep in the syrupy goodness when I heard something that sounded like a tuba come from outside. Rarity was submersed in her dressmaking "Zone", as she would call it, so I answered it. The pink pony from before stood outside. Something that looked like a cannon shot confetti out of it. "Hello! Is Rarity there?" "No. She's making a dress right now. What is it?" Flags shot out of a wagon-like thing, and she began singing. "welcome, welcome welcome! To ponyville today! You better feel awesome cuz a party's come your way! So come to Sugarcube Cornerrrrrr!" I giggled. "A party? For me?" "Yepper-doodles! I make sure to get to know every new pony and make them my friends! So are you coming, huh? Are ya, are ya, are ya?" "Ok! I'll come! When is it?" The chipper party pony grinned widely. "Tonight!" "Alright!" The bright pony trotted away, pulling her party wagon with her. Rarity emerged from her work room, her hair looking slightly frazzled. "What was it, darling?" "A pink pony pulling a party wagon. She said she was throwing a party for me tonight. Do you know her?" Rarity laughed softly. "That's Pinkie Pie. She's made it her mission to get to know every single new pony that comes to Ponyville. She's the best party thrower in Ponyville!" I smiled excitedly. "Then, I'm very lucky!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rarity had to lead me to Sugarcube corner. I opened the door to the cupcake-shaped building, and more confetti burst out from it. Loud music came from inside. We walked inside, and saw many ponies inside, partying. I saw Fluttershy, Derpy hooves, Twilight, Spike, a pony with a rainbow mane, Pinkie Pie, a blonde maned pony, Carrot top, Berry Punch, and more. Pinkie bounced over to me, still smiling. "Welcome to your party!" "You threw this all for me?" "Of course!" Se threw her hooves around me, preparing to shout. "Introducing, the mare of the hour!" The partying ponies stomped their hooves against the floor, the pony alternative to clapping. A bowl of purple punch sat on a table, and I walked over to it, taking a drink from a cup. Cupcakes and other assorted sweets sat on the tables as well. They looked delicious, so I ate one. They tasted AMAZING! The rainbow and blonde maned pony trotted up to me. "Well, howdy there, young mare! Name's Applejack, nice to meet'cha!" She shook my hoof. The rainbow pony shoved her out of the way. "And I'M Rainbow Dash! Best flyer ever to come out of Cloudsdale!" She took my hoof roughly and shook it up and down really hard. I was left with my eyes spinning. "Rainbow, calm down! The poor girl just got here!" She gently pushed the sour-faced Rainbow Dash away. "Heh, sorry bout that. Rainbow can get a little, you know... full of herself at times. Other than that, she's a great pony to know." "It's ok. It's nice to meet you, Applejack." I noticed her hat. "So, I'm guessing you work on a farm?" Her entire face gleamed proudly. "Eeyup! I work on Sweet Apple Acres, one of the best apple sellers in Equestria!" "That sounds really cool! Can I come and see it?" "Well, sure!" I smiled almost as widely as Pinkie Pie was. Twilight approached us. "So I see you've met Applejack and Rainbow Dash." "Yes I have. They're awesome ponies!" "I'd kind of like to teach you some magic tomorrow before you go see the farm." I cocked my head to the side. "Like what?" "You don't seem to know much about magic. So, if you wouldn't mind, I'd like you to come to my library after the party so I can teach you some spells." "Ok... I'll come. It'll be good for me to learn some magic."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The party needed after a few hours. The ponies that attended began to leave one by one. I followed my memory trail to find my way to Twilight's library. She answered the door quickly. "Ah, Star Fire! There you are! Come on in."
~~~~~~~~~
By the end of my lesson, I could levitate, summon simple things, and teleport without a hitch. "Thank you so much, Twilight! Why aren't you a magic teacher? You'd be great at it!" She blushed a little and shied away. "No, I couldn't possibly flaunt my magic talent like that." "Oh, Twilight. No pony would feel like you were carelessly flaunting your magic." "Star, just because I'm a student of Princess Celestia doesn't mean I should show off my talent." "Celestia? Who's that?" Twilgiths jaw dropped down through the floor. "WHO'S PRINCESS CELESTIA?! She's only the most magical Alicorn ruler in Equestrian history! How could you not know her?" "I'm sorry... Like I said,I'm not from anywhere in Equestria... At least, no where that I know of." "It's understandable, since you're not from Equestria." I yawned. "Ok. Thank you for teaching me some magic, Twilight. I think I'll be headed back to Carousel Boutique now. Raritys letting me stay there until I get someplace else to stay." "Goodnight, Star Fire." "G'night, Twilgiths Sparkle. And seriously, consider becoming a magic teacher. The young fillies and foals would really enjoy learning from you." "I'll... I'll think about it." I waved and trotted back to Carousel Boutique.
~~~~~\~~~~~~
I felt strange. Why couldn't I remember who I am or where I came from? What am I? Am I a pony, or am I something else? I just don't know... I stumbled awake in the morning, feeling sort of sad. I slowly ate and departed from Carousel Boutique, followed by a concerned look on Rarity's face. I rem,entered that I was going to see Applejacks farm, and my face brightened as I began to trot towards the farm.
~~~~~~~~~~
The tall wooden entrance loomed over my head as I looked for Applejack. A large, muscular red pony strolled up to me, casually carrying a cart full of apples. I motioned for his attention, and he turned his head to me. He has the deepest green eyes I had ever seen. "Excuse me, sir, but do you know where Applejack is?" He nodded. "Eeyup." He pointed with a hoof towards the left side of the orchard. "Thank you very much!" He strode off, pulling the cart towards Ponyville. It didn't take me very long to find applejack. She stood under a couple of trees, with baskets strapped to her sides. "Hey there, Applejack!" "Oh, howdy! Thanks for coming t the farm today. Do ya like it?" "Its amazing." I saw her struggling with one tree, and I walked over to help her. I watched the movements required for bulking the trees, and set to work. I turned around so that my back end was facing the tree, raised my back hooves, and WHAM! Slammed them into the tree with all my might. The apples fell down with no trouble at all. Applejack rushed to catch them, wiping the sweat off of her brow. "Well, I've never seen a unicorn buck apples so well before in mah life. Hay, you might be even better than Big Macintosh!" "Who's that?" "Who, Big Mac? He's mah big brother. Big red stallion with a golden mane, and the same green eyes as me. He works here too." "So, he's who that was! I met him on my way over here. He was on a delivery, I think, and he pointed m over to you." "He's quite the quiet type, ain't he?" "Yeah. Hey, can I help you buck these apples?" "Im sure we could use another helping hoof around here. It goes kind of slow when it's just Big Mac and I. Sure ya can!" "Great!" "Hold on just a moment." Applejack gently set down her baskets of apples and rushed off. She returned a few minutes late with a dusty cowboy hat, and plunked it down on my head after dusting it off. "That's one of the hats we have. It used to belong to Big Mac, but he got too big for it. You can have it! It'll help keep the sun out of your eyes as you work." "Thanks, Applejack! I'll work hard!"
~~\~~~~~~~~~~\
We bucked almost all of the trees on the left side. When we were finished, we were both as tired as if we just ran a race. "Wow, great job bucking those apples, partner! This'll really help sales!" "It's no,problem, really! It was actually fun! And I am really the first Unicorn to actually do this?" "Eeyup. And you did great! Say, Star, if I can call ya that, how would ya like a job here at Sweet Apple Acres?" My eyes widened. "Whoa, really?!" "Yup! We could use your kind of strength during Applebuck season soon. We have a room here for ya. So, will ya do it?" I nodded numbly. "Of course I will! Thank you so much! I'll go tell Rarity! She was letting me stay at her place until I found somewhere else. Thank ou again!" I pushed the hat farther in my head so it didn't fall off, and teleported to Rarity's house. I knocked on her door excitedly. "What is it darling? You're absolutely filthy!" "I found some other place to stay! I'm going to be at Sweet Apple Acres, and I even got a job there!" "Oh, darling, I'm so happy for you!" Before I went out the door, Rarity stopped me. "Oh, wait! I wanted to give you something!" She pulled out an outfit. It was something like a light jacket made of white leather, and it came with boots. I tried it on. "Oh Rarity! You didn't have to do this!" "Oh. It's the least I could do. I enjoy being Generous!" I looked like a real cowpony, and I loved it! "I love the outfit, Rarity! Thank you so much!" "Its no problem, really. Now, go to Sweet Apple Acres. You have to get a god rest if you want to be good at your new job!" "K. Bye!" I teleported back to Sweet Apple Acres.
~~~~~~~~~~~~\
I could see the moon so clearly through the window in my new room. It was a pure white sphere in the black sky. The stars sparkled like specks of shattered diamonds. It was such a beautiful night in Equestria. I listened to the noises of the crickets as I fell asleep.
~~~~~~~~
I had the happiest dreams that I had ever had since I lived with Rarity. I sniffed the air, my eyes still closed against the bright morning sunlight. It smelled like cinnamon. I stepped out of my room, curious. I walked up of the room, the scent getting stronger the closer I got out. I entered the kitchen. Applejack, Big Mac, an old green pony, and a small yellow filly were sitting at a table. "G'morning, sugarcube! I guess you're a late sleeper!" I laughed nervously, putting a hoof behind my head. "Anyways, I want to introduce you to the rest of the apple family." Applejack pointed to the old pony. "This here is Granny Smith." The rocking chair Granny Smith was sitting in creaked as she sat up. "Huh, wazzat? Who?" "Granny Smith, this is Star Fire, our newest farm helper." The old green mare put on a pair of large glasses, smiling when she saw me. "Well, howdy door there! I've never seen a unicorn help out on the farm in mah whole years of livin!" "It's nice to meet you, Granny Smith. I'm Star Fire, like Applejack said." I was too late. The old pony was already snoring away. Next, Applejack pointed her hoof towards the small filly. "And this is Applebloom, Big Mac and my little sister." Applejack gave her a noogie. Imnoticed her red mane and pink bow. I gave her a sweet smile. "Hi there! I'm Star Fire. Nice to meet you!" We ate breakfast together peacefully. After we ate, two fillies burst in through the door, causing me to fall of my chair in surprise. One was an orange pegasus with a bright purple mane, and the other was a white unicorn with a curly pink and purple mane. "Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo! Howdy!" "What's up Applebloom? Who's the weird mare?" I stood up. "Hey!" "Scootaloo, that wasn't very nice of ya. This is my sisters friend, Star Fire. She's gonna work here at the barn with us!" "Um, hi there... Scootaloo, was it?" "Yep, that's my name!" The small white unicorn rolled her eyes. "I'm Sweetie Belle, raritys little sister." "oh your Rarity's little sister? Nice to meet you!" Scootaloo looked at my flank. "Hey, she doesn't have her cutie mark!" "My... What?" Everyoonyin the room gasped. "Ya don't know what a Dutie mark is?" I shrugged. "No, should I?" "Yeah! A cutie mark is a special symbol a pony gets when he or we discovers his or her special talent!" "Really? Sounds amazing!" The three fillies grinned. "We don't have ours yet, either. That's why we formed a club called the Cutie Mark Crusaders! We do all sorts of stuff to see if we get our cutie marks!" Applejack whispered in my ear, "Mostly dangerous stuff." I gave a weak smile. "Ok..." The three fillies galloped off. "Those three fillies will be the death of us. They literally do all sorts of stuff. They even did skydiving, scuba diving, rock climbing, etc.!" "Wow, that really is a lot of stuff!" "Yup. Well, it's time to work." I put a hoof in the air. "let's do this!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~
With the combined strength of Applejack, Big Macintosh, and I, we finished another side of the orchard in no time at all. Some trees were in a section all their own, with dark, almost purple, trunks and spiky branches. "Hey Applejack, what are these?" "Well, I'll be! Those are Zap Apple trees!" "Zap apples?" "Zap apples are the most delicious apples in all of Equestria! They have the colors of the rainbow, and make the best jam! You should see the amount of ponies that flock here just to buy it!" "Wow, that must be some jam!" "That it is."
~~~~~~~~~~~
During the next couple of days, I witnessed the "signs" that Applejack had explained to me. Apparently, each sign brought forth a different part of the tree. it wasn't long before the final sign appeared. All of us rushed over to the trees as fast as we could, even if it was early in the morning. The prismatic apples grew on the trees as fast as lightning! We got baskets as fast as we could, gathering the Zap Apples as fast as possible. We gathered so many! When Apple Bloom and Granny Smith finished making the jam, yo should have seen the amounts of ponies lined up to get some! There must have been hundreds! A light brown pony with a slick black mane came, and a small pink filly with a wavy lavender and white mane followed him, looking as bored as a student locked in a room with nothing in it. I instantly hated her. Applebloom was looking at her with a look of equal hatred. "Hello, there Apple family. I'm here for my annual hundred jars of Zap Apple jam." Big Mac nodded, taking out the jars. Applebloom growed to herself under the stand. The pink filly smirked at Applebloom and stuck out her tongue. After every pony stopped coming, we were tuckered out. I had adopted the Apple families country accent, and now spoke with it slightly in my own voice. In other words, I sounded a little like they did. I walked up and sat down at the table while we were getting ready to eat dinner. "Applebloom, who were those two ponies?" "Oh, them. The big one is Filthy Rich, one of our best business folk. He buys most of our sales. It helps the barn. The small one is Diamond Tiara, his daughter. She's a bully to Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle, and I because. She has her cutie mark and we don't." "What?! Nothing's wrong with not having a cutie mark! It's more the journey than the destination! She got hers earlier than ours, which means you three get to experience it all new! She cant ever relive it." "Ah suppose you're right. But she has a friend too. Silver Spoon and her are inseparable. They pick on us together." "They sound horrible." "Exactly! It's not our cult were the only ones in the class without our cutie marks!" "I don't have my cutie mark either, but I'm sure you three will discover yours soon enough! What does Sweetie belle like to do?" Applebloom put a hoof to her chin. "Well, she likes to sing, but she's too shy to do it in front of other ponies." "Well, if you ask me, I think she should get a tiny crowd made up of ponies she knows and trusts, and sing for them. If she has stage fright, she can stand behind something and sing. What about Scootaloo?" "Oh! Scootaloo's really good on her scooter! She's the fastest in Ponyville!" "Well, maybe you us can set up an obstacle course. And what about you, Applebloom?" "Hmm... I kinda like painting and such. I fixed up the old building in part of the orchard, and it became the Cutie Mark Crusader's club house. I also enjoy making Zap Applejam with granny Smith, but ah don't know of there is any Zap Apples left." "Ask! And if there isn't, try painting. Who knows?" The small filly looked up at me with adoration. "Thanks, Star Fire! I'll tell the other crusaders tomorrow!" I finished eating and levitated my plate over to the and, washing it off. "I can't wait to hear all about it!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I couldn't sleep that night. I kept looking out at the moon and night sky. It didn't last long though. I fell asleep quickly.
~~~~~~~\
When I woke up again, it was the afternoon. "Ahhh! I'm late! I'm late! Applejacks gonna kill me!" I rushed downstairs, almost falling over Big Macintosh as I ran out the door and into the orchards. "Applejack! Why didn't you wake me up!" "Relax! You worked really hard yesterday with the Zap Apple harvesting, so I decided to let you take the day off!" "But, what about the trees. And the apples?" "I can handle today's work on my own. Thanks. But there is something you can do. Can you help by watching the CMC to make sure they don't do anything crazy?" "ok! I'll be glad to do that! I gave Applebloom some tips to help her and her friends earn their Cutie Marks. I wonder if they took my advice!" I walked out the gate after putting my cowpony hat back on. No reason I shouldn't wear it outside of the farm, right? I decided to visit Scootaloo first. I concentrated on her location and teleported there. She was zipping around on her scooter, using what looked like a track. So they DID follow my advice! Scootaloo skidded to a stop in front of me. "Hey there! Applebloom told me to try using my skills on an obstacle course, and I've been practicing all day long!" She Ipped off again. I watched for an hour, then noticed a small flash come from Scootaloo's flank as she skidded to a halt again, panting. "Well, anything?" "Why don't you look for yourself?" The estatic young filly looked at her flank and let out a cheer. "YESYESYESYESYESYES! Finally!" A wheel with a lightning bolt going through it adorned the filly's flank. "I did it! I did it! Thank you, Star Fire! Thank you!" She threw herself around my neck and squeezed tightly. "Let... Go... Can't... Breathe!" She let go, blushing sheepishly. "Congratulations! I'm so happy for ya, Scootaloo!" "This is great! I gotta go practice more!" She was too excited to hear anything else I said, so I teleported to Sweetie Belle. She was hiding in a box and singing quietly while other ponies watched. Rarity was there. I guess she was too shy to sing in front of her friends. I understood that feeling completely. "We are the cutie mark crusaders, on a quest to find out who we are..." I listened to the song, keeping hidden as I did so. As the song ended, Rarity clapped. Sweetie belle came out of hiding with something on her flank, as well. It has a heart with a music note in it. "Sweetie Belle, look!" "Huh?" She looked at her flank, slightly nervous. "Oh My gosh! Rarity, I did it! I did it! I got my Cutie Mark!" The two sisters jumped excitedly. Rarity didn't really though, she was probably afraid of getting her hooves dirty. sweetie Belle hugged her sister tightly, crying tears of joy. I smiled to myself, signaling a silent "Congrats!" when she looked over behind her sister. She signaled back "Thanks!". It felt great to have watched two young fillies get something that made them special. I remembered that I still had to see Applebloom, and headed back to the orchard. Applejack directed me to the clearing where the clubhouse was. Applebloom was inside,painting a picture carefully. She had various paint stains on her coat, than ran out the door of the clubhouse with her finished project clutched in her mouth. She sighted me standing and showed me her picture. It was of her and Applejack. The details were pretty amazing, considering how young she was. "Applebloom, that looks great!" "Thanks!" "I meant that." I pointed my hoof towards her flank. The little fillies mouth stretched open so wide that it seemed like it would tear her cheeks apart. "YEE-HAW! I DID IT! Your advice worked, Star fire! You helped me get mah cutie mark! Oh my gosh, thank you so much! Come on, let's go show Applejack!" We ran up to the orange mare together. Upon Applebloom's flank was a paintbrush with a splotch if pink paint underneath the bristles. She HAD gotten her cutie mark for painting! "Applebloom, this is great!" The other two fillies burst through the trees and jumped up and down together. "You got your cutie marks? Me too!" they shouted in unison, still jumping up and down. They all tackled me to the ground with a sudden group hug. "Oh Star Fire! Applebloom told us what you said we could do to get our cutie marks by doing things we were good at, and it worked! Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I returned to the farm, tuckered out form the day of helping out the crusaders with their cutie marks. Teleporting form place to place takes a lot out of a unicorn. I was glad for the meal, and fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. However, in the morning I was up bright and early, ready to work more. I levitated my hat onto my head and set out before anypony else was awake. I had just about bucked a quarter of the trees of that days section when Inheard hoofsteps behind me. I turned around and saw Applejack running towards me. "Hey, Applejack. What's up?" "Everypony thought you'd gone missin! I'm glad you're only here." "I decided it was a good idea to get up early to make up for yesterday, and lesson the burden on your shoulders." "Well, thank ya kindly. That's real nice of ya." "No problem at all. Let's get started, shall we?" "We shall."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We finished early due to the extra helping hoof, me, bucking trees as well. I decided to head into Ponyville for a bite to eat. I opened the door to Sugarcube corner, drooling at the scen tof all the sweets sitting on the shelves and/or being baked. I licked my lips and walked up to the counter. A light blue mare with a fluffy pink swirly mane stood there. "Hello, and welcome to Sugarcube Corner! You must be new here. Is this your first time visiting?" "Yes it is! My name is Star Fire." "Hey there, Star Fire! I'm Mrs.Cake, and I'm one of the owners of this shop, along with my husband, Mr. Cake. Feel free to check out of goodies before deciding." With that, she walked into the kitchen. All,of the treats looked delectable, and I had a hard time choosing before settling on a vanilla cupcake with brown frosting and three strawberries on top. I ordered it and began walking through ponyville, levitating the cupcake as I walked. My magic aura with a bright green color. I was taking a bite of my cupcake when I bumped into somepony. The cupcake was smashed into my face, smearing strawberry juice and chocolate all over my face. "My cupcake..." I whined through the mess of frosting covering my mouth. I licked whatever I could reach off with my tongue, cleaning the rest off the ground. "I'm sorry! I could see where I was going." I looked up and saw a tall stallion looking down to me with lime green eyes. He was orange with a sand-colored mane. He held out a hoof and helped me up. "My name's Amber Sun. Nice to meet ya, and sorry about the cupcake." I shook his hoof after cleaning the rest of the cupcake mess off my face. "I'm Star Fire. Nice to meet you too, and it's no problem." He was a Pegasus pony. "You sure?" "Yeah." "Ok then, if youre sure. Bye! It was nice meeting you!" I waved to him as he flew off, glad he couldn't see me blushing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\
I continued sight seeing around Ponyville for the rest of the day, jumping at the sudden BOOMing coming from above. "Ahh!" I looked up and saw it was just fireworks. I galloped to a nice hill to watch the colorful sparky display. I could clearly see the night sky. I pointed out the Big Dipper, Little Dipper, Orion, Scorpio, Taurus, and Capricorn in a matter of minutes. A particularly bright flash of colors momentarily blinded me. As I was rubbing my eyes, a small flash occurred from somewhere behind my head. I blinked multiple times, then continued watching the fireworks. By the time the fireworks were over, I was almost asleep on my hooves. I teleported back to the farmhouse to save myself the embarrassment of falling asleep in the middle of Ponyville. I slept like a rock the entire night.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
There were no more trees to buck in the morning, and Applejack said that we'd have to wait a few weeks before more could be harvested. It was nearing Applebuck season. But, I decided to go sightseeing again. My first stop was Sugarcube corner to get another cupcake to replace the ruined one from yesterday. I munched on it as I sat in the shade of an umbrella, flipping through a book that I had borrowed from Twilight. I was almost done with nth when I heard voices. "A paintbrush? What a STUPID cutie mark! What are you, good at painting circles?" I recognized the snobby voice. I gulped down the cupcake and closed the book, preparing a Bat-Ear spell to improve my hearing. "It's not stupid! I can paint real good! Ask mah sister!" Applebloom... "Why should I associate with a country hillbilly pony like your sister?" She was talking about Applejack. I reared and galloped in their direction. I snorted air in the stuck up filly's face. "Oh look who it is! It's the weirdo unicorn that works on a farm! What exactly are you going to do to us? Throw apples?" I turned around, ready to buck the filly in her face. Mentally, of course. I would never hurt a filly, no matter how incredibly satisfying it would feel. I saw another bright glow from behind my head somewhere. I must have really scared her, because she slowly backed away, then began running. The glow faded again. I turned to Applebloom. "Are you ok?" "Yeah, I'm alright. But what in Tarantino was that bright light just now?" I turned my head into the running filly's direction. "I don't know." Applebloom suddenly smiled. "Hey! You got your cutie mark!" "Huh? I did?" I turned my head. My cutie mark was a silver star that glowed with a yellow,orange, and red aura. It looked like a star surrounded by fire. "So that's what the flash was last night while I was watching the fireworks... I had gotten my Cutie Mark! Awesome!" "Do ya think the flash could have come from your Cutie Mark?" "Is that even possible? Can cutie marks glow like that?" "Ah dunno, maybe you should go ask Twilight. If anypony would know something about it, it's her." "Thanks Applebloom. And if she bullies you again, come get me our your sister, alright?" The little filly nodded. "K. Ah will." I teleported to Twilights library, and knocked on the door. "Coming! Oh it's you, Star Fire!" She invited me in. "Hey Twilight. I have a question for you." "Ok, spill." "Can Cutie Marks glow?" She stroked her chin with a hoof thoughtfully. "I think I've heard of this before. Spike, can you get me a book on the history of Cutie Marks?" "Okay!" The little purple dragon climbed a ladder, falling of and causing a tumble of books. He held up the book after pushing through the pile of books that Twilight cleaned up shortly after. She flipped through the pages for a while, until stopping at one with an "Ah-Hah!" She began to read the page out loud. "When a unicorn's Cutie Mark glows, it sometimes means that they have great magical potential. When said unicorn gets angry or experiences strong feelings, it may cause the Cutie Mark to glow different colors." She closed the book and out it away. "Well, that's neat. What made you want to know that?" "Well, I was sitting on a bench reading the book that you let me borrow while also eating a cupcake, and I heard Diamond Tiara bullying Applebloom about her Cutie Mark. I told her off, but while I was doing it, a really bright light flashed from behind me." "Wow..." She closed her eyes and looked very thoughtful. "This's really rare. I've never heard of a Unicorn coming from an unknown land with this sort of ability, and my special talent is Magic itself! Did you get your cutie mark yet?" "Yeah, I did." I showed her the flaming star that adorned my navy flanks. "Interesting... Interesting... I think the Princesses would like to hear about this. Spike! Take a letter, please!" the young dragon took out a quill and paper and began writing down the information twilight told him. After she finished, Spike blew green fire onto the parchment, and it disappeared in a spiral of smoke. "Twilight... Why did your assistan just light the letter on fire..." "That's how I send letters to the Princesses. Spikes fire sends the letters to her." "Oh, ok." "Just wait, she should reply shortly. Just as she said that, another scroll popped into Spikes mouth, making him burp it out in another green flame. He grabbed it from the air and began reading it. "Dear Twilight, my most faithful student, I am surprised to learn this fact. Since when has this pony you mentioned been in Ponyville?" Twilight wrote another letter, and received another response, still read by Spike. "If what you say s true, I'd
Ike to meet this pony straightaway. Please bring her to Canterlot Castle. Here are two train tickets." Two golden slips of paper fell onto the floor, and Twilight grabbed them with her magic. She looked at me with her dark purple eyes. "Looks like we're going to Canterlot."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Before I start, I just want to get something out of the way. I apologize for all the typos in the last couple of chapters. Sometimes the IPad keyboard sticks, and it makes me miss a lot of letters or punctuation, making everything autocorrect into something weird. You should've seen my face when I tried to type rainboom and it came out ranboob! I was literally sitting in bed trying to hold my face on so it didn't fall off from me laughing so hard. So anyways, excuse all the typos.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We departed for the nearest train station immediately after telling Spike where and what we were going and doing. We reached it quickly, teleporting short distances to speed up the trip. We flashed the train conductor or whatever it's called our tickets, and he ushered us in without a thought. Twilight Sparkle and I sat on separate seats in the Royal class section of the train. I was looking out the window in deep thought when Twilights voice interrupted me thinking. "So, what do you thikof meeting Celestia? I mean, Princess Celestia." "I'm actually kind of nervous, since you seen to hold her in such high esteem. She must be really important!" "She is. She's the pony responsible for raising the sun every morning, and her younger sister, Princess Luna, is the pony responsible for bringing the moon up so that the nighttime can begin. They rule Equestria together." "Wow..." I must've fallen asleep on the train ride, because Twiligth shook me awake. We jumped off the train, thanking the drivers. We went through a gate that led to Canterlot castle. Hundred of hoity-toity looking ponies hustled about the city streets in ridiculous outfits. We entered the castle after Twilight told the guards what we were there for. The guards were four large, muscular white or gray Pegasus ponies with golden armor that had blue crests. Twilight told me to hold her shoulder, and her horn lit up. We reappeared inside a large room with two giant chairs at one end. Two very regal-looking ponies sat in them, surrounded by guards. One was white with a gorgeously multicolored mane, and the other was navy blue like me, with a sparkling lighter blue mane. We approached, and Twilight bowed, motioning for me to do the same. I was still bowing when the white pony's voice finally came to my ears. It was a deep, yet feminine voice,one that was filled with years and years of wisdom. "Ah, Twilight Sparkle, my most faithful student. I see you've brought the unicorn as I requested." "Yes I have, Princess." "Good. Now, my sister and I would like to speak with her in private." Twilight bowed and exited the room. The Princess turned her rosy eyes towards me, as if searching my mind. "Come, young unicorn, sit down." She summoned a chair, and I sat in it. "Twilight has told me about your strange ability. Are you absolutely sure this is what you saw today?" "Yes, Celestia. I mean, Your Majesty." I was so nervous about speaking to a monarch that I stumbled over my words like a newborn foal. "If so, it is a very rare condition. I have only seen it in Twilight, and her talent is magic itself. I have researched the subject extensively, and learned that it can be controlled with the proper training. So... I have decided to enroll you in my school for gifted unicorns so that you may learn to harness your magical abilities." My eyes widened, and my jaw dropped to the floor. "What?! Are you serious?" "Yes, I am very serious. You can become my own personal protege here at the academy. Twilight is no longer my personal protege because she exceeds the amount of magic I could ever have taught her, and is no longer in need of teaching. However, you are a different case. I hereby make you my own personal student at the Academy for Gifted Unicorns." I almost fainted. I exited the room after being dismissed. Twilight wandered up to me. "So, how'd it go?" "Personal student... Study magic abilities... Here..." "Are you trying to tell me that Celestia made you her personal student?" I saw a flicker of jealousy and anger in her eyes, but she masked it quickly. I put a hoof on her shoulder. "Twilight, I could never replace you. You are Celestias first personal student, and I respect that. Your magical abilities far exceed mine. Celestia just wants me to learn how to control them so when they do emerge fully, I'm not dangerous." "Ok..." "And Twilight?" "Yeah?" "Thank you for teaching me those spells. Can you tell every pony that I won't be seeing the, for a long time? I'll miss them very much." "I'll do that for you. And good luck!" She began to walk away, a little sadly. I felt really bad for her, she must feel like she's being replaced.
~~~~~~~~*a few days later*~~~~~~~~~
"Now, our first lesson will be mental summoning." "What's that?" "It's when you imagine something you really want to be with you, and your magic will try to bring it to your side. Concentrate hard, and try not to let your magic control you. You control it." I closed my eyes and concentrated really hard. Green electricity began to spark from the tip of my horn, and my eyes turned a bright white. I began to get scared. "Celestia, help me!" She touched her horn to the tip of mine, and the magic immediately fading, leaving the alicorn princess rubbing her still sparking horn. "Are you ok? Did that hurt you?" "No, I'm alright. I did that with Twilight when her magic got a little out-of-hoof." "Did I do it right?" Celestia looked behind me. "I don't know, maybe you should see for yourself." I did as she said and looked behind me. A small, silver fox-like creature lay on the floor. I slowly crept over to it, waking it up ever so gently. It yawned and opened its eyelids, revealing the biggest, sweetest green eyes I had ever seen. "Celestia, what is it?" "I believe it's something from the human world." "What's a... Human?" "A human is a creature very different from us. They walk on two legs, and only have from top of their heads. They have no wings, horns, or snouts, and they know absolutely nothing about magic. Humans are very violent creatures." I cringed. "They sound horrible." "indeed they are. And if my research is correct, that creature there is called a Pokémon. Eevee is its species to be precise." The little "Eevee" began rubbing up against my leg. It's fur was so soft, and it made little mewing noises. "It's so cuuuute! Can I keep it?" "I certainly don't see why not!" I began ouncing up and down, while holding the Eevee with my magic. It began to look nauseous, so I set it down. "I'll call you... Angel!" The little creature looked satisfied with the name and proceeded to bounce around happily. It yawned, curling up into a ball of fluff once again. "I think that's enough training for one day. You can go back to your quarters now. I have put some food that is suitable for Angel in a storage unit." I was too busy hugging my new friend. Celestia smiled. "I can see that you two will be the best of friends."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\
*a few years later*
"I hereby congratulate this young unicorn on graduating from my Academy for Gifted Unicorns!" My face was beaming, and Angel sat just as proudly next to me. We had grown very close over the past few years, and now we could return to Ponyville together. I decided to take the train back, because I don't think Angel could handle flying yet, she was still quite young. I held her comfortingly on the way back, stroking her fur gently with a hoof, humming quietly to her to calm her down. I hopped off the train eagerly. As I stepped onto the station all of my friends were there. Rarity, Derpy, Pinkie Pie, Twilight, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Sweetie Belle, Applebloom, Scootaloo, and even Amber Sun were there! I smiled brightly. Angel cowered inside my saddle bag, because she was still small enough to fit. She was shy in front of all the new ponies that she has never seen before, and hid her face inside of the bag. "Welcome back, Star Fire!" Pinkie immediately began planning a welcome-back party for me, and age didn't stop talking about it until we got to Ponyville. A new house had already been prepared for me when I returned. I gaped at it. it was a two story building with everything inside fitted to match my tastes. It had simple black furniture, purple walls, a reading lamp by my bedside, and a fully stocked kitchen. All ready for me to use! I thanked everypony. At that moment, Angel decided to make a noise. "Um, what was that? If you don't mind me asking..." I took Angel out of my bag it's my green magic. "This is Angel! She's an Eevee, a creature from the world of humans! She's my pet and my best animal friend." Her silvery fur shined in the lighting of the new living room. Fluttershy's eyes lit up. "Awww, she's so cute!" She picked Angel up and rubbed her against her cheeks. Angel seemed to get used to her pretty fast. After all, I've seen Fluttershy's skill with animals in person. She must be good with interdimensional creatures, too! Fluttershy set my friend down. "Hey, everypony! We still have Pinkie's party to go to! C'mon everypony, let's go!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We partied all night long, and in the morning, I was plum tuckered. Angel slept deeply in a custom bed that I made for her, with me sleeping in my own bed beside her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
*a month later*
I woke up in the morning, freezing. I sluggishly got up, rubbing the sleep from my eyes so I could lookout of the window. Little white flakes fell from the sky, blanketing the ground. They covered everything in what looked like frozen clouds. Angel had no problem with the cold because she had all of her fluffy fur. I grinned and rubbed her behind the ears, levitating her into my saddlebag. I headed over to Applejack's place first to meet the girls for some hot cocoa. We had a grand time together, laughing and sharing ghost stories as the wind howled outside the warm indoors. Pinkie Pie told such a funny story about a ghostly clown who thought everypony was acting "funny", and it made laugh so hard that hot chocolate spurted out of my nose. Everypony was rolling on the floor and laughing. I took out a tissue and wiped it from my nose. "Not funny guys!" "Yes it is! I told my story and you squirted hot chocolate from your nose and- AHAHAHAH!!!!" Pinkie couldn't continue because she was laughing so hard. We continued sharing funny ghost stories until we decided to go to Sugarcube corner for a sweet warm treat to eat.

When the time came to get rid of the snow, wake up the hibernating animals, and make new birds nests, I had no idea what team I'd be on. Twilight Sparkle was the head of organization because of.... Something that happened last time. I wasn't really informed on that whole subject. The teams were Animals, who made sure to wake the animals and create new nests, Weather, who brought sunlight to melt the snow, and Planting, who planted the new sproutlings so they could grow in Springtime. A mare the color of aged parchment with a short and wavy gray mane casually strolled up to me, looking slightly frazzled. "Ah, welcome to your first Winter Wrap-Up. I know you're wondering what team you're on. I have placed you in the Animals team, since you're so good with your pet.... Eevee, was it?" "Yes. Her names Angel. So, I'm on the Animals team. Which means I have to create new birds nests and wake up hibernating animals, am I right?" "Very perceptive! Now, you're supposed to go help Rarity with making the nests." Se handed me a tan vest, and I slipped it on easily. I saluted her with my hoof and headed to Carousel Boutique.
~~~~~~~~~~~
I found Rarity outside, with piles of straw and ribbon around her. "Hey, Rarity!" She looked up from her pile, smiling at the sight of me. "Ah, Star Fire! So you're on the Animals team, too! Thank Celestia you are, because I was just beginning to think that I'd never finish these in time!" She pulled me over to the table and shared half of her work with me. I concentrated, lifting up my pile with magic and separating it into multiple smaller ones. I used the straw to make cup shapes, winding the ribbons into them carefully. I ended up finishing much sooner than Rarity, who sat gaping at my finished works. In front of me were at least twenty perfectly finished nests. "Wha... How?" "You mean to tell me that you've never done this before? Here!" I helped her with hers, showing her the spell. Her pile was half done, and she insisted one doing the rest herself. I trotted off to find the rest of the Animal team. I spotted Fluttershy with some other ponies sticking their faces into burrows. "Hello, Fluttershy! I just finished helping Rarity with making the new nests. Is there anything I can do here?" The shy yellow Pegasus jumped. "Sorry, Fluttershy! I didn't mean to scare you!" "Oh, it's just you, Star Fire. Yes, you can help with something. You see, there is one particularly difficult family of foxes who won't come out no matter what our best members do. Can you go over and see what you can do? I mean, if you would like to..." "Of course, Fluttershy." She pointed me to a large group of ponies that were crowded around a hole. I parted them, saying that Fluttershy sent me to help. I received a few disapproving looks, which made my Cutie Mark flash again, making them back off. I used my magic to make the defrosted grass play a march-like melody, makings the sleepy foxes open their eyes reluctantly. I sent Angel in front of the den to show off her silvery fur. The foxes eyes popped open, and they scampered out after her. They jumped around her in a circle as she continued to show off her fur. I pet her gratefully behind her ears, giving the disapproving ponies a smug look before walking off. Fluttershy told me that they could handle everything else themselves. I went to go see Twilight to see if she had any more tasks for me. I approached the lavender unicorn slowly, because she seemed a bit stressed out. "What am I going to do? This is my first time managing the Winter Wrap-Up!" "Um, Twilight?" "WHAT?!" "Ahh!" Twilight pushed her slightly frazzled mane out f her eyes. "Oh, it's just you. Sorry, Star. What do you need?" "I finished with the Animals team. Do you have anymore things for me to do?" Her mouth dropped open. "How could you be done already?!" I noticed that she had some spare pieces of nest materials next to her, so I showed her exactly how. I lifted and separated the straw from the ribbons, making cup shapes with the straw. I carefully winded the ribbons through their proper places in the nests, setting them onto the wooden floor of the Town Hall. She had the same reaction as Rarity. "Wow, is it really that amazing?" "Kind of, yeah!" "Well, ok then... I was just wondering if there is anything you want me to do." Her horn began to glow,surrounding me with an icy-blue swirl of magic. When it cleared, I had a pair of large blue monarch butterfly wings. "Uh, Twilight? What did you do?" "Relax. I want you to help the Pegasi with the weather. it's not something ordinary Unicorns can do. But you, Star Fire, I think you can." "Aye aye, captain Twilight!" She looked at me quizzically, then shooed me off. I slowly fluttered up into the sky. I burst through the cloud layer, my mouth moving without words coming out. I was floating inside an unimaginably large city in the sky. Rainbows poured down in waterfalls in certain locations. I was busy taking it all in when I noticed a familiar orange form flying towards me. It crashed into me, sending me tumbling a few feet backwards. "Heh, sorry!" Those lime green eyes grew full of laughter as he realized who he had just knocked into. "Oh it's you! We have got to stop meeting like this!" I shook my head to cancel out the spinning. "Hey there, Amber Sun." "What's up with the wings?" "You never told me you were a secret Alicorn!" I laughed quietly. "I'm not. These wings are only temporary. Twilight gave them to me so I could help with the weather." "A unicorn helping with the weather? That's a first! Well it looks like I have to how you the ropes. C'mon follow me!" He led me over to some bright white, fluffy clouds. "What ya gotta do is take these clouds and put them over snowy areas. Then you just open a small hole, like SO!" Using his hooves, he tore a hole n the middle of the cloud. Warm sunlight shone through onto the ground below. We took one each and dragged them to a very snowy area in Ponyville. I tore a hole just like he showed me to, and slowly melted the snow off of the ground. We repeated this process for a while, flying up, getting clouds, then melting the snow off of certain areas. We had just gotten the last area in Ponyville when a particularly bright and hot ray of sunlight went in my eyes. I felt my new wings disintegrating. I began to fall from the high altitude. "AHHHHHHHHHH!!! OH CELESTIA SOMEPONY HELP MEEEEE!!!!" I covered my eyes with my hooves, preparing to go SPLAT. It turns out, I didn't need to. I felt myself land on something. "Hey! Are you alright?!" "Amber Sun! I.. I think so!" "Oh Celestia, I feel so bad! It was the me who set off the sun cloud! I disintegrated your wings! I almost killed you! Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" He landed and set me on the ground. "It's ok. You didn't know." "But I feel so bad! What can I do?" "Nothing, really. It's ok!" "There must be something I can do!" "Stop it." "I'm going to follow you for the rest of the day to make sure nothing happens!" I began to hide the profuse blush on my whole face. "You don't have to do that, really..." It began to be obvious that he was being completely honest, and wouldn't have it any other way. I rolled my eyes, and he smiled cheekily. "Oh, fine. Come on." I walked back to Twilight, followed closely by Amber Sun. "Welcome back, Star! Who's your friend, and where's your wings?" "The wings are gone, and ths guy right here disintegrated them with a prank gone wrong. His name is Amber Sun."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A look of recognition flared on Twilights face. "Ah, Amber Sun! Aren't you the Pegasus who came to borrow a book from me that one time?" "Um, yeah..." Her smiling face turned serious. "Speaking of the book, did you return it?" "Um... Hehe.... No." The look in her eyes was enough to send Amber Sun off with an "Eep!". She turned back to me. "Ok. I can't believe it. You've finished two teams worth of work, and it's barely in the afternoon!" "Am I really that good?" "Yeah... Listen, Star, I don't think you should help with the Winter Wrap-up anymore." I was taken aback. "What? Why?" "Your magic is simply too strong. You threw the entire schedule off track!" She turned away, dismissing me with her tail as she began shuffling through papers. Not really knowing what to do, I decided to go find Angel.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
I wasn't really surprised to see her still playing with the other foxes. The little fox pups played with her, rolling around in the new grass and play-fighting. It melted my heart to see her so happy. Her ears perked up when she heard my hoof steps approach. She jumped to me, rubbing against my right foreleg. "Come on, Angel. Time to go." Her smile faded as she looked over her shoulder at the saddened fox pups. The little orange fuzz balls whined for Angel to come back. It broke my heart when she responded with an equally sad whine. She looked up at me, giving me puppy dog eyes. I gave in almost immediately. Well, what would you do if you were confronted by a crying Eevee? My horn began to shine, sparking at the tip. In a brief burst of pure green magic, another Eevee was laying on the ground. It had normal brown and cream fur, with big black eyes. It was obviously a male, and how I knew that I will not explain. I named it Coal. The two Eevees were instant friends. They bounced and played, and soon, the fox pups were taken someplace else by their mothers. I levitated them both into my saddlebags, Angel on the right and Coal on the left. They playfully batted their paws at each other over my shoulders as I made my way back to my house.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The two fluffy foxes tackled each other and rolled around on the floor rug while I made lunch for myself out of some bread and daisies. The sweet, herb-like taste of daisies had really grown on me. Of course, I got two dishes of the special Pokemon food out for Angel and Coal. I watched the sun set slowly on the horizon, it's fiery glow illuminating the far mountaintops where Canterlot castle was nestled. I gazed at it for hours, watching the blazing orb sink into the horizon. The moon began to rise, giving everything a silver glimmer. To my surprise, tears began to fall onto my windowsill, catching the attention of my two Eevee friends. Angel jumped up next to me and nuzzled my face, trying to comfort me. Coal sat next to me, tickling my nose with his tail in a slightly successful attempt to get me to smile. My cutie mark shone a faint blue. The two Eevees decided to leave me alone and went to sleep in their beds. I turned away from the windowsill, shutting down my tears. I kissed each of them on the forehead before settling into my own bed to sleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was extremely reluctant to get upon the morning, despite the warm sunlight enticing me through the windowpanes. Unfortunately for me, the two balls of fluff jumping on my side wouldn't have it another way. I dragged myself out of bed, using magic to brush my mane. I fed Angel and Coal. Making myself breakfast, I decided to visit Twilight. I ate on the go, carrying the two Pokémon with me, as usual. I opened the door, wondering where Twilight was. She usually answered when I visited. I called Spike's name, hoping that he would know. "Spike!!!" His head popped out from behind a corner, his eyes red and puffy. "Oh, it's you." "Spike, what's wrong?" "Nothing... It's nothing." The little dragons eyes began to well up with tears. I rushed over to the young dragon, holding him in a tight hug as he cried into my shoulders. "Shh... Shhh.... Is ok, Spike... Tell me whats wrong..." Spike sniffled and wiped his eyes. "It's Twilight, Star Fire! She didn't come down this morning, so I went to get her.... I think it's better if you see for yourself." He led me up the stairs and to a door. He opened it quietly, signaling for me to be silent. I crept into the room with Spike close behind. He motioned to the bed, so I glanced in that direction. Twilight lay under the covers, and I heard heavy breathing. I rushed to her side. "Twilight? Are you alright?" I put a hoof on her forehead, then recoiled. She was burning up! "Twilight! You have a fever!" She laughed, but it ended in a fit of coughing. "No I don't... I just stayed up too late studying last night..." She was sweating like crazy, and her mane was plastered to her head and neck. "Spike, can you get me a book on illnesses? Like, now?" "Of course! Coming right up!" He found it in no time at all. I flipped through the pages urgently. I found what I was looking for. I gasped in horror. "What is it, Star Fire?" "Oh god, Spike, you shouldn't look..." I put the book on the highest shelf I could and broke the ladder. "Spike, I have to go see everypony quick. Stay with Twilight, and make sure she doesn't get any worse. Report any changes to me when I get back." "Got it! But I really wish you'd tell me what was going on!" I galloped out the door, slamming it behind me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I stood panting in front of Sweet Apple Acres. Having teleported there, much of my energy was consumed. I gathered air and galloped to the front porch of the farmhouse. I rapped on the door hurriedly. Applebloom answered it. "Oh howdy, Star! What're ya here for?" "Applebloom... Is... Applejack.... Here?" The young filly looked at me quizzically, wondering why I was breathing so heavily. "No... She's out in the east field." I waved my thanks and sped off towards the East field.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
It didn't take me long to find Applejack. I followed the trail of barren trees. I shouted her name, startling the orange farm pony. "Oh, it's just you, Star! What can I do ya for?" "Applejack... Twilight... Sick.... Come.... NOW!" "I didn't understand any of hat whatsoever, it I'ma comin'!" She got Big Mac to take over the rest of her work for the day, and followed me as we ran to Sugarcube Corner to get Pinkie.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\
"Pinkie! Pinkiiieeee!" The pink party pony was nowhere to be found. Suddenly, she popped right up in front of my face, making me fall over. "Hellooooooooo Star! Hellooooo Applejack! Did you two come for treats? Or perhaps you're here for a.... PARTY!" "Pinkie, Twilight needs our help! Come on!" "Ooh, is TWILIGHT throwing a party? But why would she throw a party she's a librarian which means this is her first party so I'll have to help her plan and get the supplies and the games-" I facehoofed. "Pinkie. Nopony is throwing a party. Just follow us, ok?" "Okie-Dokie-Lokie!" Pinkie skipped behind us as we raced for Carousel Boutique.

The bell on top of the entrance to Carousel Boutique rang noisily as the two ponies following me and I pushed through the door. "Welcome to the Carousel Boutique, darlings! Why would you be here?" I was breathing too heavily from running so much for so long that Applejack had to speak for me. "We don't know, but Star told us that there's something wrong with Twilight!" Rarity was in her Zone again. "But darling, I'm in the middle of address for a very important client, and... WA-HAH-HAAH!!!" I grabbed her tail and yanked the now very cross Rarity along with us.

Fluttershys cottage was our next destination. The yellow Pegasus came without complaint when we mentioned Twilight. We had her fly up to Rainbow Dash's cloud home to wake her up. The cyan Pegasus looked down at us, cranky about being woken from her nap. "Rainbow, Twilight needs our help! COME ON!" A pair of magenta eyes rolled as the lazy mare glided down to the waiting group of ponies below her.

I mass-teleported the group to Twilight's library, almost fainting because of the huge consumption of energy.
I had to lean on Applejack as Spike gratefully showed us up the stairs. Once they saw the decrepit state of their friend, Applejack hid her face under her hat, Fluttershy and Pinkie burst into tears, Rainbow refused to let anypony see her cry, and Rarity was crying as well. "What the hay happened?!" Rainbow was the first one to speak after what seemed like an eternity. I answered, recovering some of my energy. "I don't know, but when I went to visit Twilight this morning, Spike was crying, and he showed me Twilight, so I came to get you guys. Here, look." I levitated the book down in front of their faces so that they could read the description of the illness that was afflicting our poor unicorn friend. Their reaction was one of pure horror. "Spiiiiiiike!! We need you to take a letter to Princess Celestia!!!" The little dragon appeared, quill ready to write. "Dear Princess Celestia,
I regret to inform you that your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle has fallen deathly ill. We are aware of what the illness is called, and we will do whatever it takes to save her. Please respond as soon as your Highness is able to.
Your other student, Star Fire."
Spike sent the letter with a burst of his special fire, almost immediatlely getting a response.
"Dear Star Fire,
I am very saddened by this information. It is unknown if there if a cure for Twilight's sickness, but maybe the wise zebra Zecora can help you. I also regret to inform you that you just might need the Elements of Harmony for this mission.
Sincerely, Princess Celestia."
A poof of smoke materialized a sparkling box that contained five golden necklaces and a large crown.
