Chapters Rainbow Dash and Applejack had gotten into a fight. Over the past week, it had become something much more serious...
Applejack was standing outside the town hall, threatening Rainbow Dash, who was flying higher above her.
"Get down here, you! I'll teach you to mess with me!" Yells Applejack.
The snow was piled up high so everyone was at home. There was no-one around to hear them.
"Oh yeah? Who's gonna make me?" Rainbow Dash yells back
"Ohhhh. I see how it is. You're just a big chicken!"
"Hey! I'm not a chicken!" Rainbow Dash screams back.
Applejack started to make chicken noises.
"I'm not a chi- Stop that! I'm not a chicken!"
"Oh yeah? Well why don't you come down here and prove it!" Yells Applejack.
Rainbow Dash couldn't resist. All of their anger for each other was being released. She flew down there and charged straight toward Applejack, head first. At the last second, Applejack stepped to the side and slipped out her back hoof, tripping Rainbow Dash. She fell face first into the snow. Applejack laughed so hard she nearly cried.
That was the last straw. Rainbow Dash had been laughed at too many times by that apple farmer. She quickly jumps back up and kicks Applejack in the chest.
Applejack flies backs and crashes into one of the wooden posts around town hall. Applejack gets back up and stares straight at Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash charges at Applejack again, but swings a punch at her at the last second. Applejack falls over in the snow, but gets back up, with blood dripping from her nose from the punch.
"Oh, it is on now!" Applejack says, full of rage.
Applejack runs at Rainbow Dash, then swings around and gives her a big kick with her back legs, right in her side. Rainbow Dash flies across town square and faceplants into a pole.
She screams with pain, but quickly gets over it, to continue her fight. She gets up and faces Applejack again, blood dripping down from her nose and pain in her side ribs.
"Is that all you got?" Applejack taunts.
"It's barely even begun!" Rainbow Dash replies back.
Rainbow Dash flies over to Applejack and picks her up by her tail. Applejack, unable to reach her enemy, is left dangling in the air. She tries as hard as she can, but she is powerless in this position. Rainbow Dash spits out her tail and Applejack falls onto the roof of town hall. She rolls of the roof and lands with a thud in the thick snow.
Rainbow Dash lands with an evil laugh and stares at Applejack.
Applejack rolls over to face the cold winter sky and then Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash flies up into the sky, watching Applejack lie there. She then darts down, straight toward AJ. Applejack sees Rainbow Dash getting closer. She then slides to the side a little and punches out her hoof and gets Rainbow Dash. Right in the wing.
Rainbow Dash lies opposite her, screaming in pain. Her wing was definitely broken.
"Hah! You can't fly now! That makes this fight a little more fair!" Gloats Applejack.
Applejack walks over to Rainbow Dash and steps on her tail, while she is still lying there in the snow with extreme agony.
"Aww. What's wrong? Did "Equestria's fastest pegasus" get beaten by an earth-pony?" Laughs Applejack
Rainbow Dash can't take it anymore. She jumps up and shoves Applejack against a pole. She then punches her in the stomach multiple times against the pole.
"Ha! How do YOU like it? HOW DO YOU LIKE IT?!?!" Screamed Rainbow Dash
Applejack was screaming with pain, which could just be heard over RD's screams of insanity. Rainbow Dash kept at it, until Applejack could take no more. She dropped to the ground, her blood soaking the fresh white snow.
Rainbow Dash jumped on Applejack and grabbed her throat, strangling her with her two front hooves.
"Rainbow... Stop... it..." Applejack manages to say.
"Never!!!" Screams Rainbow Dash, still fixed on winning the war.
Rainbow Dash laughed her evil laugh again, until she saw the look in AJ's eyes. Her eyes, filled with pain and torture and regret. Regret of ever starting that fight.
Rainbow Dash releases her hooves from Applejacks's throat and the earth pony lay there, blood coming out of the gashes on her torso and nose and staining the snow. Then, after that whole battle, Applejack finally passed out.
Rainbow Dash was left there alone, not sure what to do. All of her anger had vanished and was replaced by remorse. Suddenly, she realised what had happened. What was done. What SHE had done.
She stared down at her body. It was covered in gashes.
So many guilty questions filled her head at that moment.
What will happen to me?
Will Applejack be okay?
What will all of our friends say?
She didn't have time to think about it. She had to do something quickly. Applejack was losing blood! She would be dead soon!
Rainbow Dash runs over over to town hall and wipes the frost of the windows. She looks inside but no-one is there. She looks around the empty streets. Nopony was there. It was just those two.
Rainbow Dash takes another look at Applejack. Her body covered in gashes from her punches.
"I'm a monster!" She thinks to herself. "What have I done?!"
She then sees a public phone booth and runs over to it. She inserts two bits and dials the hospital.
"Hello, Ponyville Hospital. State your emergency." Said the voice on the other end.
"You have to come quickly! Somepony's really hurt!" Rainbow Dash was panicking.
"Calm down. It'll be alright. How are they hurt?"
"She's bleeding! Really badly!" Rainbow Dash was still panicking.
"Are they still conscious?"
"No."
"Alright. Where are you?"
"I'm outside town hall."
"Okay. An ambulance will be there soon."
Rainbow Dash sat there in the cold snow. Staring at Applejack. Regretting it all. She can hear the sirens approaching. The ambulance pulls up next to them and two stallions get out. They cringe at the sight of all the blood.
They load Applejack into the van and Rainbow Dash gets in too. After all, she did have a broken wing.
Author's Note
You know, I always wanted to make a fight scene for two of the mane ponies and those two just seemed right for the situation.
Rainbow Dash walked home in the snow, which was now a good ten inches deep. As she walked, she saw the spot where the fight had happened. The blood had been cleared away. Good thing, too. She wouldn't want anypony else to see the gore.
She keeps walking home until she realises that she can't get up there anyway, because of her broken wing.
"Hey, Rainbow Dash!" Yells a voice.
Rainbow Dash looks around for where the voice is coming from. She sees Twilight Sparkle standing in her doorway, waving at her. Rainbow Dash walks over to her.
"Hi." Said Twilight.
"Hey." Rainbow Dash says, unenthusiastically.
They both walk inside and Rainbow Dash feels the warmth of the fire, almost immediately. She hasn't seen Twilight since the fight, so she didn't know what had happened to Applejack.
"Have you solved your problem with AJ yet?" Twilight said.
"Sort of..." Rainbow Dash said back.
She then showed Twilight her broken wing.
"Oh my god! What happened?" Asked Twilight, in shock.
"Applejack punched it." Rainbow Dash answered.
"Really? Is that how bad the argument got? Is it broken?"
Rainbow Dash nodded.
"Our fight got a little it out of hoof." RD said.
"I'll say!" Twilight said, noticing the hoof marks in her side ribs.
Rainbow Dash walks over to the fireplace and sits down.
"Where's Applejack?" Twilight asked.
"In the hospital." Rainbow Dash said, guiltily
"The hospital?! What did you do to her?" Twilight asked, suspiciously.
"Look. I told you. We had a fight. Things got out of hoof. No big deal."
"No big deal? You hospitalised Applejack!" Yells Twilight.
Rainbow Dash left and Twilight went down to the hospital to see her friend. She sat in the waiting room until the doctor called her in.
"Hey. How are you doing?" Twilight asked Applejack, still staring at her bandages
"Fine." Applejack replied.
"Sooo.... Having a bit of trouble with Rainbow Dash?"
"I HATE her!" Yelled Applejack
"Hate is such a strong word. Maybe you... dislike her?" Suggested Twilight.
"How can I not hate her after what happened the other day?"
Applejack rolled over to face the wall and sighed.
"I'll let you get some rest." Twilight said as she walked out the door.
"Wait, Twilight. Can you please deliver a message to Rainbow Dash?" Applejack said.
"Umm... Sure, okay."
"Tell her that when I get out of this hospital, she's going to get what she deserves."
Twilight wasn't sure what Applejack was going to do to her, but she delivered the message anyway.
Rainbow Dash was lucky that day. She could of gotten brain damage. Or a fight could of started (again) and she kills Applejack. I guess we won't know what would of happened if Applejack punched her. Good thing it didn't happen.
Anyway, AJ and RD just ignored each other for a while. They didn't speak to each other or even stare at each other when they walked past. They just pretend they didn't exist anymore.
After a month or two, Rainbow Dash thought it had been long enough. She made the first move, by simply saying hi. By the way Applejack responded, it seemed like she was waiting for it to happen.
They soon became good friends again, which was a relief for both of them. They could now stop having to avoid each other, everywhere they went.
They hadn't felt like this in a long time. And it felt good. All of that mental stress was being pushed out and was being replaced by happiness and joy.
Because after all, Friendship is Magic!
Author's Note
Thank you for reading my story.
I would like to thank these commenters in particular: The Death Stalker, Munomana (i guess), Slate the Pegasus and especially these two: Doompie and EmiryLi.
Thanks for the great feedback! Like I said before, without your supportive and motivational comments, I would of scrapped the story a while ago!
Also, stop complaining that the chapters seem short and stuff. IT'S NOT A BLOODY NOVEL! It's just for fun!
Anyway, thanks to all of you
Rainbow Dash is in a hospital. She sits in a chair next to a bed with a bandage around her wing. Applejack lay in the bed, still unconscious. She had blood stained bandages wrapped around her body. The room was silent, except for the beeping of the heart monitor.
Rainbow Dash sighed, still not believing what she had done. She looked out the window. A boring view. Just buildings, lined with snow. So much snow.
Rainbow Dash couldn't stand sitting there. The suspense. Applejack could be dead in a few minutes. And it would of been all her fault. So, instead of waiting, she wrote a letter and lay it on the bedside table. As she left, she noticed the heart monitor decreasing in speed. She had to leave. She knew she wouldn't be able to stand the pain of seeing the heart monitor stop beeping.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next day, Rainbow Dash sat in the waiting room with anxiety, worried about what the doctor would say. She imagined sitting there when the doctor comes through the double doors and says: I'm sorry. She didn't make it.
The thought of this made her feel sick. Every moment she waited, made her feel more worried. Then, right when she felt she couldn't take any more, the doctor walked in.
"Rainbow Dash, you can see her now." The doctor said.
This made Rainbow Dash a lot more calm. She was glad Applejack wasn't dead.
Rainbow Dash walked in and saw Applejack lying there with no expression on her face.
"Hi" said Rainbow Dash, not sure how to tackle this situation. I mean, she just hospitalised one of her closest friends. Could they even go back to being friends?
"Hi" said Applejack, still with no expression on her face.
"How's the pain doing?"
"It's fine."
Rainbow Dash was expecting a more lively response from Applejack. Like anger or apologies, but she was just getting very plain answers.
"About the other day..." Rainbow Dash began, but was cut off by Applejack.
"Look. It's fine. Just leave it." Applejack said
"Okay, but if you need anything..." Rainbow Dash was once again cut off.
"Just go!" Insisted Applejack.
This upset Rainbow Dash but she left anyway.
Hunting Down Rainbow Dash
Applejack was finally released from the hospital. Her wounds had healed and the snow had finally melted. She took a deep sniff of the cheery Springtime air and breathed it out again. It smelt like flowers. It also smelt a bit like baking, since she was standing right outside Sugarcube Corner.
She went for a walk around town, keeping an eye out for Rainbow Dash. She couldn't see her anywhere, but she couldn't be in the clouds. Her wing wouldn't of healed that fast. She asked everypony she walked past, but none of them had seen Rainbow Dash for a few hours. So, she went and asked Twilight.
She knocked on Twilight's door and when she answered, she was glad to see Applejack again, out of the hospital. However, she then remembered what Applejack said about Rainbow Dash last time and got a bit worried for Rainbow Dash.
"Hey, Twilight. Have you seen Rainbow Dash?" Applejack asked
"Umm... No. No I haven't. Why?" Said Twilight.
"I have to find her." Applejack said.
"Well, she got pretty worried when I told her what you said."
Twilight had lied. She knew exactly where Rainbow Dash was, but she wasn't telling Applejack that. There was no telling what AJ was going to do to her, but if she wanted to pick another fight, surely Rainbow Dash wouldn't fight back. No-one could be that ignorant. Right?
"Well, I'm not getting any closer to finding her by just sitting here." Applejack said, as she turned around to leave.
Before she left, Twilight spoke up. "Applejack, just promise me you won't do anything stupid."
Applejack nodded and shut the door behind her as she walked off.
She looked everywhere. Around town, in the park, everywhere! She even checked a few of the clouds, just to be sure, but Rainbow Dash was nowhere to be found.
Then, in the corner of her eye, she sees a blue figure in the distance. She turns and looks at it, but it was gone. Instead, there was a tree there.
She starts to walk toward where it had appeared. As she got closer, she noticed shadow, laying on the ground beside the tree's own shadow. She then picks up her pace a bit, approaching the tree a little faster. Soon, she is a mere 10 meters away from the tree. She takes another step, but steps on a small branch. The snapping of the branch made the shadow jump a bit. And then it ran off. Applejack saw the figure. A sky-blue pegasus with a rainbow mane. It was Rainbow Dash.
Applejack chased after her, slowly getting closer and closer. Rainbow Dash looked back and saw Applejack chasing after her. She turned back, but didn't have enough time to get out of the way of a large branch, inconveniently stretching out across the path at head height.
Rainbow Dash whacked her face across it and fell onto the ground, lying towards the sky. She watched as Applejack inevitably caught her.
Rainbow Dash lay there, worried about what was going to happen next. She was kind of scared, but not as scared as when she was in the waiting room a couple of weeks ago, not knowing if Applejack was dead or not.
However, Rainbow Dash didn't try to run away. She didn't even try to move. She couldn't keep running forever.
Applejack was still catching her breath, but she stood next to Rainbow Dash. The look on her face was making RD even more nervous.
Then, Applejack finally did something. She lifted up her right foreleg and pulled back her elbow, ready to punch Rainbow Dash in the face. The look on her face intensified and her breathing got heavier.
Rainbow Dash knew this would happen. She used her forelegs to protect part of her face and tightly closed her eyes, ready for it.
Then, something unexpected happened. Rainbow Dash didn't feel Applejack's hoof in her face. She opened one of of her eyes and saw her just sitting there.
"Wait, what? What happened?" She said, confused.
Applejack turned her head and looked at her. Rainbow Dash noticed a few tears running down her cheeks. Applejack didn't say anything, but instead, got up and started walked away. She didn't say anything else. She didn't even look back. She just walked away.
Rainbow Dash was pretty relieved. She hoped that this meant the war was over. It was about time too!
But she was still worried. What would happen to their friendship? Could it ever go back to what it was? She was just going to have to wait.
