Overwhelming Rage
1
Load Full StoryShe dropped the bloody knife onto the hay-ridden barn floor, creating a muffled thump. She breathed heavily, her eyes bloodshot and dialated, showing pure rage and agitation. Her teeth were clenched to the point of her gums bleeding, her face splattered with blood. The orange cowpony lay motionless before her in a crumpled heap against the barn wall, bleeding heavily from many stab wounds and blows to the face from the brute force of the pink pony's hooves.
How did this all happen?
Let's start from the beginning.

A slight breeze swept across the small town of Ponyville. All of the ponies were bustling around the town, tending to their everyday buisness. The pegasi up above were busy gathering gray clouds, preparing for the light rainfall that was planned for late afternoon. Everything was as normal as any other Tuesday morning.
Pinkie Pie was in the kitchen of Sugarcube Corner, humming a cheery tune while finishing up frosting some chocolate pink-frosted cupcakes. Mr. and Mrs. Cake walked into the bakery, triggering the bell above the door. The pink pony raced over to the counter to greet them.
"Mr. and Mrs. Cake! You're home early from your trip to Manehatten!" She smiled at the two as they brought in the leftover baked goods from their party.
"Yes, Pinkie. How's the shop going? Has buisness been good?" Mr. Cake asked, warily looking at the earth pony.
She raised her eyebrows at the two. "It's been just fine and dandy! A little slow, actually." She turned her head to look into the kitchen. "I just got finished making some chocolate pink-frosted cupcakes! Would you like to try some?"
Mrs. Cake looked over to her husband with tired eyes. "No thank you, Pinkie. Since we're home now, I suppose you can take the rest of the day off."
Pinkie Pie looked at the cakes and grinned. "Okie dokie lokie! Have a good rest of the day!" She cheerfully hopped out the door and looked around. She hadn't realized how tired she was after baking in the kitchen all day since seven. She looked for the nearest tree, laid against it, and shut her eyes.
Pinkie awoke from the clang of the mailbox shutting closed by the mailpony. She yawned, stretched, and rubbed the sleep from her eyes. She sleepily staggered over to the mailbox to check through the mail. Most of the things were for Mr. and Mrs. Cake, but one letter on the bottom had her name neatly scribbled across it. She opened her eyes wide and smiled. She loved it when she got mail, and she couldn't wait to read it.
She entered into the shop and placed the mail for the married store owners on the counter, and sat on the table to read hers. It was from her cousin Inkie Pie.
"Inkie? I haven't talked to her in a while! I wonder what she has to say," Pinkie carefully opened up the envelope to find a long, neatly written letter inside. She started down the page. At about the middle paragraph, her eyes shot open. Her heart stopped, and she nearly couldn't breathe. Her hair fell slumpily from its usual fluffy way to laying flat and dead against her cheeks. A million emotions punched her in the face, rammed her like a bull.
Her parents had been brutally murdered and robbed.

"Daddy! Daddy! Where are you?!"
She ran as fast as she could through the pelting hail and rain. The wind was so powerful, the rain and the hail scratched against her face as she ran into the lightning storm. She was sobbing, lost, tired, and cold.
"Daddy!!"
Suddenly, she tripped, landing face first into the cold, hard ground and skidding. An excruciating dark pain pierced from her ankle, and her sides heaved. She had clearly broken it.
Daddy!!! Help me!!!

At first, the poor pink pony didn't know what to feel. Depression, sadness, darkness... But something inside of her was stronger than the rest. Something that filled her heart and soul at that moment, something that compelled and controlled her to every extent, something that she couldn't drown out even if she tried with all of her might.
Pure rage.
From somewhere deep inside her throat, Pinkie let out a blood-curdling screech. She ripped the letter in half and slammed her hoof onto the table, creating a crack down the middle. She picked up the edge of the table and flung it over, crashing it into the wall. Mr. Cake heard the loud noises and rushed down the stairs.
"Pinkie Pie! What in the name of Equestria are you doing?!" He cried, starting towards the pony in an attempt to console her. Pinkie grabbed one of the chairs and threw it at him, grunting loudly. He shouted as the leg of the chair hit him in the head and he toppled backwards, hitting his head against the bottom stair. Blood trickled out of a large gash above his eye.
At the sight of the unconcious stallion, Pinkie felt a great satisfaction. Now HE knows how my Daddy feels! She thought.
She let out a cry of sadness, quickly dashed into the kitchen and grabbed the butcher's knife, and stormed out of the shop. By now, the predicted downcast of light rain had begun to fall out of the sky. She ran as fast as she could through the rain, not caring where she was going. She wasn't crying. In fact, she wasn't even that sad. But she was more angry then she ever felt before.
After about five minutes of running, Pinkie Pie spotted Sweet Apple Acres. Her eyes blurry from rage, she ran up the hill and bashed right through the sturdy white fence around the acres. Her right shoulder was bleeding from the impact, but she didn't care. She didn't even feel it. All she wanted to do was to let this fury out somehow. It didn't matter how, or who she let it out on. She just wanted it out.
Applejack was coming up to the barn from the fields, bringing in a metal wheelbarrow so it wouldn't rust in the rain. She didn't notice Pinkie Pie running over to her until she was inside of the barn. Her hoofsteps came into hearing range and she looked outside the barn door, squinting. The pink pony was racing faster than Rainbow Dash towards her. "Now what in tarnation is that crazy pony doin' now?" She mumbled as she trotted over to the barn door.
Just as Applejack was about to greet Pinkie, she realized that she wasn't stopping. She just kept going. Opening her eyes in shock, Applejack turned to close the barn door but was stopped short as Pinkie rammed into her with the force of three grown stallions. She flew and skidded on the barn floor, letting out a grunt of surprise. Before she had time to retaliate, the pink earth pony flung herself on top of AJ, pinning her down to the ground. Her eyes, bloodshot and furious like those of a serial killer out for blood, pierced into Applejack's eyes like daggers.
"P-Pinki-" Applejack managed to stutter before Pinkie Pie's hoof bashed against her cheek. Pinkie raised her knife to stab AJ, but she punched her eye with her free hand and kicked her off.
"Pinkie Pie, what the fuck are ya doin'?!" Applejack spat at her, rubbing her bruised cheek. Pinkie let out a throaty screech again and lunged at the cowpony. AJ, being physically stronger than the pink pony and now fully aware of what she was trying to do, dodged her attack and pinned her to the ground. But something inside of Pinkie gave her the strength to overcome the orange pony and kick her off, sending her bashing against the wall. Taking this opprotunity at the upper hand, she rushed over and punched her twice in the head. AJ tried to fend for herself, but was just kicked back against the wall, overwhelmed by Pinkie's rage. She raised her knife and began stabbing her old friend in the chest, her teeth shown in a large grin. Applejack screamed and tried with all of her might to stop the pink pony, but it was no use. She had already lost so much blood.
After stabbing her a few more times, Pinkie got up and backed away. She dropped the bloody knife onto the hay-ridden barn floor, creating a muffled thump. She breathed heavily, her eyes bloodshot and dialated, bearing pure rage and agitation. Her teeth were clenched to the point of her gums bleeding, her face splattered with blood. The orange cowpony lay motionless before her in a crumpled heap against the barn wall, bleeding heavily from many stab wounds and blows to the face from the brute force of the pink pony's hooves.
Then, as quick as it started, she snapped out. Her eyes became regular sized, her breathing rate lessened, her jaw loosened. She fell back and sat down on the barn floor, looking at what she had done. Everything had gotten to her; the realization of the issue, that her parents had just died, that she had threw a chair at her boss and crashed their shop, that she had just crashed through the Apple family's fence, that she had just killed her once good, understanding, hard-working honest friend, who was also the Element of Honesty.
Looking down upon the mess that she created, she just didn't care anymore. She didn't care what was about to happen, that the police were going to take her away and lock her in jail. She just didn't want to live on the planet anymore She just wanted to disappear forever. Pinkie Pie fell down and lay on the floor, sobbing and howling.
She just didn't care anymore.
