The Loss Of a Lifetimeby 456gotChaptersChapter 2Chapter 3Chapter 1Chapter 2I wake up and try to walk when I stumble, finding myself in a place not like my own, or so I think. I can’t really remember my own world, as if it is being erased from my head from being here. I try and recall the past but I can’t remember how I had gotten here. I quickly crawl to a piece of rock and began carving out all I can remember onto it. I try and get a grasp onto reality but as soon as I realize what has happened I lose consciousness. When I awake there are six ponies that are staring at me. “W-who are y…” Before I could finish a bright pink pony comes jolting out and interrupts me. “I’m Pinkie Pie, and this is Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Fluttershy, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash. Who are you?” she asked. “I don’t know.” I reply. “What do you mean you don’t know silly? How can you forget your own name?” That’s when it kicked in, I forgot who I am. I quickly came up with a name and said it. “I’m Feather Sketch.” I say. “Well hello Feather Sketch, you look terrible, we should go back to Ponyville and get you cleaned up.” Pinkie replied I didn’t want to disrespect them so I went. We went on the walk while Pinkie was asking about my life. I couldn't give answers as I did not know who i was, where I had come from or how I got here. I’m still trying to recall my past at this point with some difficulty. I remember that I had written on a stone back in the forest but I’m not sure what. We arrived at a house that was built into a tree. I had never seen such a sight before. We went in and the walls were covered in books. This must be a library. “Welcome to my house,” said the purple pony. “I’m Twilight Sparkle.” At this point I am wondering how they get their names. “You can go get cleaned up in there and we will be out here waiting” she said. I go down the hall and into some sort of bathroom. I go to wipe off the dirt on my face when I look into the mirror. I’m a pony? What kind of joke is this? Where am I? I start to regain some memory realizing that something wasn’t right. I find myself panicking and getting nervous at what possibly could have happened. “Is everything okay?” asked Twilight. “Yes, I’m fine, just got a little nervous.” I replied. “Well don’t be, just hurry up and come down the hall so we can all properly meet.” She said. I finish up cleaning myself off and proceed down the hall. When I arrive in the main area there are 6 ponies sitting down waiting to talk to me. “I’m Applejack” one of them said after a period of silence. “I-I’m Fluttershy” said another nervously. “I’m Rarity” one said in an accent. “I’m Rainbow Dash” another said with attitude. “You already know me and pinkie” said Twilight. “So what brings you here?” asked Pinkie. “I have no idea, I woke up in a forest and I could barely remember anything.” “Oh well make yourself comfortable you can stay here until we get you to talk to Princess Celestia. Maybe she can help you with your memory problem.” Author's Note The second chapter to this story. I now remember where I came from but I still do not know my real name or how I got here. 2 weeks have passed since my arrival in this world. I have become better friends with the ponies that had found me on the ground that one day. Fluttershy has become one of my really close friends. She has been there for me in times of hardship. I haven’t decided whether or not to tell the others about where I came from in fear that they would tell the princess and make me go back. I enjoy this world much better than my old one. Today is the day that they decided to take me to Princess Celestia to see if she can help with my memory. I make my way down the hall to clean up and look nice when I present myself to her. I look at the outfit that Rarity has so kindly made me for this occasion. I get dressed and wait for the ponies to get here before we head off to Canterlot. I hear a knock on the door and go to answer it hoping for it to be my friends, but it wasn’t. There in front of me was a white pony with multi colored hair which seemed to move like there was wind, which there wasn’t. “And who might you be?” I ask cracking a smile. “Hello, I am Princess Celestia; I have come to speak with you about what has happened. Twilight has told me that you have memory problems?” “Yes I am having trouble remembering who I am or where I came from.” She gives me a puzzling look as if I had said something that didn’t seem right. “May I come in?” she asked. I let her in and behind her followed all of my friends. I hadn’t seen them at first but they had this awkward sadness in them. “What’s wrong?” I ask. “Well you see, it isn’t really normal for someone to lose memory like that. I can try a spell to fix it but I’m not sure if it will work. If it doesn’t then you will have to come with us to Canterlot to see if we can get this figured out.” I now see why my friends have this sad look on their faces. They did not want me to go. They knew something bad would happen to me. I was afraid of what would happen to me if I went, but if the spell didn’t work I’d have no choice but to leave with her. Fluttershy of all looked the most down. I had trusted her with everything. I told her the truth about where I came from and everything else. She just supported me and promised never to tell anyone. She and I had something going for us. Truth be told, I was actually starting to really like her. “Are you ready to give this spell a try?” asked Celestia. “Yes” I replied She tapped her horn to my head and then there was a big flash of light. I tried to regain my vision as the light had impaired it. I try and think to see if it worked, trying to recall the past events. Nothing, I still can’t remember. I start to get nervous in fear of what she would do if she takes me with her. I didn’t want to leave my friends. “Did it work?” Celestia asked. “Yes, it worked. Thank you very much for helping me with this.” I answered. Author's Note Thank you for reading my story. I shivered as I walked to the store to buy food. The town seemed quiet, almost dead quiet, but it was a small town with a population of about 1500 people, so this quietness was not unusual. I headed down the slippery sidewalk, when I ran into the thing that changed my life forever. But before I explain what that thing is, I should probably explain about my life. I am Michael Goodwin. I am a writer, artist, and musician. I am 24 years old and live by myself. Where I live isn't really that important; it’s a rundown town where businesses close all the time. I work at a shop that sells used electronics. It’s not a great job, but it’s a job. Ever since I was younger I have been neglected and bullied. Life wasn't really good for me. When I was seven my entire known family died. My parents—who were killed at the store in which I work today—were my only friends, the only people I truly trusted. One of the reasons I don’t leave the store is because of them, and also because there are not many businesses open anymore. The only thing I have left of my parents is a cross, which was lost when I moved into my apartment. In my spare time all I seem to want to do is write about my life like I am now. I was walking to the store and had seen an old cross, much like the one that had become lost to me. I picked it up and looked at it. When I closely examined it, I realized that it was my father’s cross! I forgot about the groceries and rushed back to my apartment, washed it off and held it. I thought about my parents, how I missed them. How they were always there for me. I got angry and screamed. “WHY DID THEY HAVE TO LEAVE ME?” I said, throwing the cross across the room. It bounced and landed next to my couch. I lay down crying on my bed and whispered, “I just want to forget all of this” I fell asleep crying, wanting the same thing. I remember having a dream, but it was really more of a nightmare; I was reliving the day that my parents had died. It wasn’t the first time I had had this dream. My parents were walking into the store, when somebody had pulled a gun on the store clerk. He had asked for the money from the register. My dad told me to go and hide, so I did. I heard the guy yelling at the clerk when my dad took out his phone. Before he could dial 911 there was 4 shots, then I woke up…. Author's Note Thank you very much for reading my story.
