Ch.1 Passing On and Beginning Anew

My Name Is Vinyl Scratch. I was the DJ for my club in Ponyville. I had a good life; the money to keep me going comfortably, the satisfaction of doing something good with my life and making a mark for myself. Keywords ‘was’ and ‘had’; all of that doesn’t amount to a pile of shit now, because when you’re dying, nothing matters anymore except; am I living, or dying?
So yeah, here I am, lying on the floor of my house, blood dribbling out of my mouth and into a pool next to my face. I tried moving my hand to wipe the blood away, but I kept convulsing and found it hard to move effectively. So I just laid there and let time go by while I waited for the cold embrace of death to overtake me.
It’s funny. I never thought I would die in my own home, from some illness inside of me that just decided to show now. I always thought I would die from a show at a club, like getting shanked for playing a bad song or something like that, because this is so much less entertaining. But beggars can’t be choosers ya know?
I coughed and crimson liquid spat out of my mouth and onto my black shirt. I could feel pressure in my chest rising and I moved one of my hands over my chest and felt for my heartbeat, it was there, but it was beating funny and then I felt it stop as my hand rested over my breast. Huh, that’s weird, I must be pronounced dead now then.
I was soon losing feeling in my toes, then in my legs, and then soon my whole body was numb. I was really cold, like there was arctic wind blowing over me. Soon my thoughts were becoming heavy and I was finding it hard to stay with it. I closed my eyes and everything was silent, including me. You can take me now death, im ready! Don’t make me wait here forever!
I never knew what death was going to be like for me. Some of me thought that I would go somewhere new, other parts of me thought that there was a gold encrusted castle waiting for me in the heavens with everything my heart desires waiting just behind the gates, but I got none of that. I am just in an open field of blackness and I have no feeling in any part of my body except for my head. This is a crappy afterlife, I hope this isn’t it.
Just after I finished saying that my chest felt lighter, like a heavy weight that was holding me down was lifted off of me, and it felt really good. Soon I could move my fingers again, and my toes, then soon I could move my arms and legs. Now we’re making progress, how about something other than blackness hmm?
I was able to open my eyes again, but I had to hold them closed as a bright flash of golden light appeared above me. The flash went away and all that was left was a figure hovering above me in the air. He had a long white mane, but he did not look like any pony I ever saw or heard of before. He had no tail, muzzle, or anything like that. But other than that he looked just like us too.
I tried to start talking, but he smiled at me and moved his arm to me and put a finger over my mouth to stop me from talking. His finger smelled like ancient dirt and a hint of wine. So this guy is smiling, and he is floating, AND he is smells like a thousand year old tomb and wine…fantastic. I found the only other person here and hes a creepy old pedophile stallion….ugh!
“My child, allow me to explain myself so I do not come across you as a creepy pedophile stallion. I am the creator of all things, and I do get quite lonely, so I decided to meet you personally instead of having one of my… assistants do it. I don’t get out much you see, I am very busy watching everything that happens in the universe” the mysterious stallion said to her.
Vinyl looked curious, and she could tell he was going to talk for a while. “Go on” she said through his finger that was still over her mouth, as well as half up her snout as well.
“Pardon me, I am the creator, I created your world, as well as many others. I watch over everything and see that nothing comes along to completely ruin the universe as we know it. You, my child, are Vinyl Scratch, from Equestria right? I did not expect to see you here, and I am sorry for how this happened and the fact that you are even here in the first place. Now, I have a message to tell you, from me personally. You are getting another chance at life. I see no reason to not allow it. You have so much more to do, so I am going to let you do it” the creator said to Vinyl, his face bright and cheery, like this was his job to be happy about death or something.
“Answer me this, why don’t you look like me if you created my world?” I said through his finger again.
“I do not resemble you because I did not create your world first. I am a Homo Sapien, or Human. You are a Homo Equines. You are a sub species to that of the Homo Sapien. Now I must tell your fate before you can ask more questions, im running low on time away from the watchtower. Vinyl Scratch, you are going to be sent to Argisle, a realm of Ancient life, where medieval reigns supreme. Kings, Princes, Queens, Princesses, Lords of lands, huge estates and so on. I have chosen this place for you to start a new because you have great wisdom and power. You are smart and cunning. My child, this place holds many wonders for you, in the ways of magic, fighting, and living, as well as many secrets you must uncover. Use your second life wisely, I know you will” the creator said, moving his finger away from Vinyl’s mouth.
“So you’re sending me to a place called Argisle, where everything is ‘medieval’ and there is magic and fighting and blah blah blah. Fine. Now, are there going to be ponies like me? Or is there going to be something else to await me?” I said to The Creator, who smiled wider at me. Still a creepy Homo…whatever he is.
“My child, you are going to a place where Homo Sapiens rule. You will have to face change if you want to overcome the hardships of this place, it is for the strong, and that’s why I chose you to go there. You will bring great change to Argisle; you just won’t know when it happens. Any other questions my dear child?” The Creator said to me. He is so nice and friendly, even though he is a little creepy, I like him.
“Yes, so if I go to this place. And say that I fall in love and want to mother children; will I be able to do such a thing when I am a subspecies? This is if I ever fall in love. What say you to that Mr. Creator? Will I be able to create mini-me’s?” I said to him with a grin. He was funny to me, so I am going to give it back to him now; I want to hear him laugh.
He bent over and put one of his hands on his knees for support before he started laughing. It was funny really; he had a baby’s laugh. “My child, if you try playing games with me, I will play right back. You are fond of me, I like that. And you have a good sense of humor too, something you’ll need when you go to Argisle. Yes Vinyl, you will be able to produce offspring. You are only a subspecies because of your horn, mane, and tail, same with pegasi from Equestria with their wings, mane, and tail. If you didn’t have them you would be a Homo Sapien. And. When you do decide to mother if you choose to, you will still pass along your genes, so if the gods willing, you might bring into the world another unicorn” The Creator said as he stood up again, wiping a tear from his eye from laughing.
“Im ready to go now Creator, but one more question. Will I see you again? And how did you laugh like a baby?” I said to the old man with curiosity.
“My child, I am everywhere, you will find that out eventually. And you will see me again in the future, I promise that. As for my laugh, some things are just better left unsaid, it ruins the joke” he said to her before holding out his hand to her. “Take my hand my child, time to take you home.”
I stood up onto my feet and took his old, wrinkly hand. There was a bright flash of golden light again and I closed my eyes because it was so bright. When I opened them I was in a field of rolling grass. There was a huge walled city with a castle in the distance, and there was a small town in the other direction with stone walls protecting it.
“My child, you needed a new outfit for your new life, so I had one prepared for you. It’s not too overbearing, but it will allow you to move around this new place without fear” The Creator said to me before handing me a bundle wrapped in cloth and tied with a rope. I undid the knot and moved the cloth and saw a two piece outfit. He was right, it wasn’t overbearing. There was a fine laced white shirt, along with a white skirt that had matching lace. Then there was a light blue overcoat to bring everything together.
I took off my other clothes, which still had the blood on them, and put the new clothes on. While I was stripping I caught a glimpse of The Creator looking at my boobs, so I stood up and smiled. “You say I need to be brave, you like what you see you pervy old man?” I said to him with a smile. I wiggled my chest a little to give him a show while I was at it. I can be pervy too ya know.
“*cough cough* Well, hmm. *cough* I do believe it is time for me to take my leave of you. Thank you for showing me your melons, but I do not require them, I have my own melons to do with as I please back where I come from. So thanks for the offer, but I must decline my lady” The Creator said as his face turned bright pink. He didn’t make eye contact again.
Tehe, I got him good that time. “You never did tell me where you came from” I said to him as he began walking away.
“There are still so many things you don’t know about me. I will tell and show you more as time goes on, but I’ll leave you with this. I am from the heavens, I see and hear all. We will meet again soon Vinyl, I look forward to keeping in touch with you” he said to me before he faded away in thin air. I was left looking at a patch of grass where he was standing in front of me.
I looked away and resumed getting on my new attire. Once I was finished I looked at which direction I wanted to go. “Should I go to the castle? Or the walled town?” I decided to go to the town, so I began walking down the dirt path that led to the gate of the town. As I got closer the gate opened slowly and a group of humans walked out of the gate and towards me. I stopped when I saw them holding onto things that were attached to their waists. Ok, maybe I should have gone to the city instead of here!
They made it to me and formed a loose circle around me. The leader of the group stepped out until he was a foot or so away from me and then looked me over, no doubt getting his eyes caught on my horn, tail, mane colors, fur color and so on. “My Lady, from where did you come from that you wear such nice garments as well as accessories to match? Are you from Khaz in the deserts to the east?” the man said to me, curiosity filling his brown eyes.
I just stood there frozen. Do I want to say yes? What happens if I say no? “Yes my good sir I am. I have left my home in search of prosperity, and I was going to inquire if there was a place in your town for me to sleep.”
“What’s your name fair maiden? So that I may address you properly” the man said to me, his face half hidden by light brown flowing hair. He was very handsome looking, and he didn't look a day over 20. If I wasn't trying to save my ass, I would try to flirt with him.
“Vinyl my good sir, and you? Surely I must know your name if we wish to address each other proper” I said to him, a smile on my face.
“Alex my lady, Alex Greywater. My father is the lord of our fine town, and he will see to meeting you soon. Come with me and we will get you fed and housed till he is ready to see you” Alex said to me before walking away back towards the town walls. I followed behind him and smiled at how well built he was. I think I can live with this place; Alex is going to help me get to know it too. Tehehe.
