We Rise And Fall (Revised)

In the gardens of Canterlot Nyx and her kirin guard walked through the hedges, looking for the statue as she kept close to Trixie. Trixie hugged her side, not out of fear, but out of total comfort and excitement as the battle raged around them, stretching her wing around the dark mare and leaning her head against her, smiling as they walked. Nyx smiled as well, relishing the feeling of her mare’s new wings, and relishing the battle that was raging around them, their guards keeping their trek peaceful as they made their way through the gardens.

They finally reached the place, the statue of Discord standing in the middle of the maze as the guards spread out, Nyx turning toward Trixie and pulling her in for a kiss. They eventually broke it, Nyx smiling as she brushed her mares mane out of her face, “don’t worry, soon we shall be able to restore that which is yours.”

She kissed her again, and then turned towards Discord, her horn lighting up and breaking Discord out of his prison.

Discord slowly rose, shaking of the rubble as he looked up to see who had broken him free, growling when he saw who it was, “You!”

“Hello sugar-bear,” she said in a sickly sweet voice, forming her giant katana and pointing it directly at Discord as he formed twin battle axes in his hands, prepared to battle the evil witch that stood before him. But then he noticed the mare standing next to Nyx, and saw the floating shards that swirled around her, and his eyes widened in horror as he realized who and what she was. He made to throw an axe at her, and then jerked forward as the last shard ripped out of his chest, causing him to fall to the ground as it floated over and began swirling around Trixie.

Trixie focused her power, tapping into the other elements that were scattered around the two cities, the elements answering the call and lending their power. She rose into the air, the shards flying together and forming a bladed crown, and a tower of energy erupting from the ground below her and piercing into the sky.

Back at the Everfree the goddesses turned to see the pillar of energy erupt from Canterlot, Discordia smiling as she saw it, cackling madly as the sisters turned toward her. “Looks like the deed is done, so we shall end this game here and now!”

Discordia lifted her hooves up and slammed them down, cracks forming in the ground as dark smoke erupted and swirled around her form. After mere moments however the smoke cleared, and Discordia floated out from what remained, her new form looking like a more harmonious version of Discord’s mutated state, only three times his size.

She had a long slender body, her mane now stretching all the way across her back, ending in a large tuft of hair at the end of her tail. Her fore hooves had transformed into majestic claws, each one looking as sharp as a blade.

She didn’t waste any time when the smoke cleared, her long tail lashing out to slam against Ixen, smashing her into the ground as the others dodged out of the way.

The surprise didn’t last however, and soon Discordia was being hit with multiple attacks, which she was able to shrug off. She turned on Siren Gale next, but before she could lift her tail she roared, for Ixen had recovered and started tearing into her tail.

Discordia swung her tail to the side, flinging Ixen into Siren gale before unleashing a torrent of blue flame at Dreamstride, lighting the poor mare on fire.

The next pain Discordia was made to feel was a horn stabbing into her chest, Mercury having flown underneath her guard and ramming into her. She made to move in and bight the offending mare, only to roar in pain as Fantasia grabbed her by the back of her head, one of her claws digging into her eye as she yanked her head back, before delivering vicious blow to the side of Discordia’s head.

“They’ve improved,” thought Discordia with a grin, lashing out at Fantasia with her claws, while moving one of her hooves to kick Celestia as she made to trip the chaos goddess, only to get tripped anyway as Luna went for her other hoof.

“They’ve really improved,” she thought, “but let’s see how they work on the fly!”

She snapped her fingers, and suddenly the world turned upside-down. Anastasia, who had been flying up in order to get a better angle of attack, suddenly found herself crashing into the ground. The others were also having similar problems, for the world was not responding as it should have when they moved, and in the middle of it all stood Discordia, not affected by the change.

“Not so easy when the laws of your reality work against you is it,” said Discordia, her hands glowing as she crossed her arms in front of her, before slamming them down upon the ground, sending out a shockwave of energy as the ground cracked around her.

Parts of the ground began to float away as gravity ceased to be, though thankfully orientation returned to normal, though they still had a problem. With all the ruble flying around, Discordia had just given herself hundreds of disposable weapons to use against them.

But Celestia then got a wicked idea, using her magic to commune with Anastasia, who donned her own smile as she got to work. As the others distracted Discordia, Anastasia called all the ruble to her, the mass of boulders melding and fusing together till they formed into a giant snake, one that easily towered over Discordia as she looked behind her in surprise.

“Oh fu…!”

She never finished, the great serpent slamming its tail into her side and sending her flying, before it coiled and sprung after her, clamping its jaws around her and bighting down hard as the others followed suit.

“They have gotten too good,” she thought, “I have end this now!”

She grabbed both parts of the serpents jaw in her claws, growling as she ripped them away before firing a blast down its throat, causing it to explode as Anastasia was expelled from its corpse. Next to fall was Luna, getting hit by a spear from the regurgitated remains of Rarity’s horn.

She then grabbed both Fantasia and Ixen, electrifying them before throwing them into Siren Gale and Dreamstride, electrocuting them as well. Then with her tail she grabbed Mercury, crushing her till her bones broke before finally digging the claws of her right hand into Celestia’s shoulder, causing her to scream as her transformation was suddenly ended.

“Hm, now were have I seen this before?” asked Discordia mockingly, twisting her claws in Celestia’s shoulder and coaxing another cry of pain from the mare. “Oh yes now I remember, I had you in a similar position many years ago didn’t I, this is so sweetly…familiar.”

She leaned in then, and kissed her niece on the forehead.

Bile rose in Celestia’s throat as Discordia kissed her, trying to ignore the pain in her shoulder and kick the mare, but she could not. She knew why, the claws were having more of an effect on her than normal ones, for they were draining her of her strength as her aunt pulled away, that evil grin on her face like before, violating her very being with her red eyes.

Discordia pulled her claws out of her shoulder then, turning around and facing Canterlot with a hand over her chest.

“All I ever wanted was to bring my sister back from death, but every time I try you insist on standing in my way. I may not choose to kill you my niece, but I must show you the error of your ways.”

She lifted up her empty hand, and Celestia watched as the clouds above Canterlot parting as a ray of light came crashing down upon the city. She watched from afar as the city cracked and fell, its supports breaking and sending it crashing down the mountain side, like it was nothing more than hunks of trash.

Discordia turned back to Celestia, cupping her chin in her claws as she began to fade in the moonlight. “I am truly sorry,” she said, and then she faded completely, vanishing in the same moonlight.
