The day of reckoning

In the far depths of space lies a solar system and its star, the inhabitants of a planet in the system believe their princess controls it, but in truth it controls the planets orbit.

As then sun still and bright gives light to all its orbiting planets, another planet passes by it, however this planet does not orbit this star, it moves freely as it pleases and for two reasons

One: This planet is not from this solar system.

Two: This is no planet

Its body is orange, two horns are in front of its equator with a hole in the middle a glowing hole to be exact, the metal body makes its way to a planet in the system on with life and creatures who carry out their day without a care in the world.

However this planet is not interested in the lifeforms that inhabit the peaceful world, its target no its meal will be its moon, a moon that imprisons a powerful being that is about to be released.

Only it will never get the chance.

The monster planet slowly makes its way to the moon its stomach grumbling for its next meal.

Twilight began to think on this if all this book it said was true then she had to take immediate action, packing her thing she made her way to her room and requested Spike to write a letter.

Space.

The monster planets inner screens displayed every major thing that happened in the universe, while it could she many things it could not see everything at once, it now observed a purple pony write a letter to her ruler about an impending doom that was about to be unleashed from the moon and an solution to try and prevent said disaster.

Little did the unicorn know that its watcher was the solution.

Equestria.

Twilight's day had not gone as she planned, she wanted to take action to try and stop Nightmare Moon but instead she was busy setting up the summer sun celebration and to make things even more harder every pony she bumped into seemed crazy to her.

She was not here to make friends like Celestia insisted she had to do her duty.

"Twilight come on its time for the summer sun Celebration" Spike said

Twilight got up from her bed and followed Spike out the door her mind was so focused on Nightmare m=Moon that she didn't even see where she was going and bumped into a pony.

"Hey whats going on?  Twilight then saw all the other ponies standing still and looking at the sky, Twilight and Spike looked up to see what had their attention.

Then they too where shocked beyond belief.

All the ponies watched as a giant orange planet neared the moon.

Nightmare Moon formally Luna stood on the surface of her Moon. She had waited a thousand years for this finally she would be released from her prison and exact revenge on her sister.

Yet despite this fact she could help but fell a presence, a large presence looming over her. After hearing a faint rumble in space she turned.

And couldn't believe her eyes.

Right in from of her was a giant metal planet with a large gaping hole in its center.

And whats worse is that the hole began to such her and the moon into itself

"NNNOOOOOO!" Nightmare screamed as she was puled into he planets body, once in their she felt as she was torn apart at the seems her body begin draining of her life force until she succumb to her injuries.

And then Nightmare Moon Formally Princess Luna was dead.

Canterlot

Celestia watch as this thing, this monster planet bar its ring of teeth its horns dug themselves into the moon and without hesitation the planet began to feast upon the lunar rock.

The second the thing crunched the moon Celestia felt a sharp pain as if someone had just died, fear she knew who tears began to form in her eyes.

In her room the sound of a crack was heard and a picture of princess Luna fell to the floor and shattered.

And for the first time in a thousand years Celestia cried.

The ponies of Equestria watched as the monster planet devoured their moon before their very eyes, normally Pinkie would make a joke but this was nothing to joke about, Rarity had fainted from the event Rainbow didn't fly she sat their with her mouth open Fluttehrshy was hiding in a tree waiting until it all blew over, Applejacks hat blew of as she stood their like a statue and Twilight she was just taken for words, she asked for a solution like the Elements of Harmony to stop Nightmare Moon but nothing in the book said anything about a giant monster planet devouring the moon.

All the ponies watched as the thing continued to eat the moon the lunar light fading with each bite.

finally the planet finished devouring the moon, its internal systems converting the waste into energy and power, the ring on its body began to glow as it began to leave the planets orbit.

Twilight watched as the planet began to float away into space to the point when it was only a spec them it was out of sight.

It was a full minute before anypony said something.

"Twilight what was that thing?" Spike asked

And for the first time in her life, Twilight didn't know the answer.

Twilight went back to Canterlot and at the castle she and Celestia discussed what had just happened

Later Celestia told Twilight that she meant for her to find the Elements in hope of restoring Nightmare Moon back to the sister she knew but after what had just happened she knew in her heart that her sister was dead and the she would never see her again.

Celestia dismissed Twilight saying she wanted to be alone.

Twilight went back to her room and just sat their, stunt buy the fact that she could have more than just a life in Canertlot, she could have had friends, friends she never knew.

But all that was taken away from her when a planet ate the moon.
