Chapter 1
Introductions
June 12th, 4303 C.R. 5:58 AM
Foal Mountains, Equestria
Monastery of the Rising Sun
YinYan woke up did, in his monastery. YinYan was a young unicorn stallion, with a light brown coat, and short dark brown mane. His deep blue eyes stared at the ceiling. He laid in his wooden bed for a few minutes while he collected his thoughts from last night dream. He remembered he talked to someone, someone important, but he couldn’t quite remember who. He then decided it wasn’t important. He got up, put on his orange monk robe, his black belt, and took his prayer stick. He opened his monastery from the east door where he could see the faint glow of the sun as it was slowly creeping up through the horizon. From where he was standing one could see the entire south face of the mountain range, from the top of the snow covered peaks to the rolling forested green hills. He headed out to his routine morning hike.
After about half an hour he sat down under a cherry blossom tree. He started to recite the Song of Elders to meditate while the first light of the golden sun started to shine through the morning fog. This was arguably his favorite time of the day. He really enjoyed the peace and quiet before his rigorous day of fasting, mediating, and training. On the fifth line, something caught his attention. A wising sound traveling closer, then the sound of a piece of paper landing next to him. He looked to see what the sound and his eye enlarged with wonder. On the ground laid a rolled up letter with a red wax seal of a single C.

July 12th, 4303 C.R. 5:45 AM
Canterlot, Equestria
112th Zip Road, Apartment 4B
DarkKarma woke up from his sleep which lasted somewhere around one to two hours. He got up from his roach infested bed a stumbled toward the bathroom. He then looked at himself in the mirror. The small mirror was tinted brown from mold and the bottom right hand corner was smashed with a few pieces missing. His most notable face feature was his baggy bloodshot eyes. He then started to inspect the bruises and stitches that covered most of his body. Afterwards he reached for his journal and quickly jotted down his observations. After that he quickly wrapped his hooves in cloth and headed back to his room. In the other end of his small room stood a terribly damaged red punching bag. The faint light bulb that hanged from the ceiling moved back and forth ever so slightly as he kept punching the bag with a force that would knock out the toughest of ponies. Then from the opened window came a small ball of green fire and smoke. He quickly noticed it and thought it might be a summoning spell from one of his countless enemies. Right when he was about to punch it, it turned into a piece of parchment and fell on the ground.

June 12th, 4303 C.R. 6:00 AM
San Palomino Desert, Equestria
Camp Shines
“Rise and shine fillies!” yelled Ct. TankLot to his sleeping cadets, “We’re burning daylight! Let’s go!” The ponies then stumbled out of their tents, put on their combat horseshoes, and hurried outside. TankLot’s military helmet, that covered his red mane, was the same tint of green as his coat. He took another wisp of his cigar before a royal guard came towards him to hand him a rolled up piece of parchment with a red wax seal.
“This is to go to Commander Alexvior immediately” ordered the guard.
“Got it,” Tank replied. He then raced toward Alexvior’s tent. In his tent Alexvior was conversing with cartographer of his company while studying the terrain of the nearby mountains.
“Sir,” Tank called “a letter from Canterlot.” He handed the letter to Alexvior. Alexvior was a young well-built Pegasus stallion, a white coat and blond hair. Unlike most commanders in Equestria’s military, he wore a silver armor, like all of his colts, rather than a golden armor which is given to each commander.
“Thank you captain,” he answered. He opened and read the letter.
“Captain pack your bags,” he quickly ordered “we’re going to Canterlot.”

June 12th, 4303 C.R. 6:15 AM
Manehattan, Equestria
Spark Industries, Top Floor Lab
Dr. TeslaSpark PhD was enjoying his tea and newspaper like any other morning. The sun shined through the large windows of his laboratory. His lab was, of course, a huge mess as always with scrapes of metals and blueprints all over the place. While his staff and colleges at Spark Industries might be a bit distressed by the lack of organization, he in fact says its helps him think up of new ideas and solutions. He looks at his steampunk style watch.
“Another day,” he says to himself proudly with his British accent and quickly boots up his computer and starts reading all of the memos that were put up last night. After a few minutes he’s interrupted by a green fireball that came through the mail slot. The fireball quickly turned to a piece of rolled up parchment. He hastily grabbed opened up the parchment that read:
Dr. TeslaSpark PhD,
Your attendance is required at the Counsel of Cleaties for a matter of national security. Please be at Celestia’s Castle in Canterlot on June 13th at 8:00 in the evening. Please pack everything you are going to need for a week. If you are unable to attend please respond with a letter immediately. We await you there.

As soon as he finished reading he reached for his red bowtie and packed his bags excitedly.

June 13th, 4303 C.R. 8:07 PM
Canterlot, Equestria
Celestia’s Castle
“Are you sure about this Princess?” asked Twilight nervously
“There’s nothing to worry about my dear twilight,” Celestia replied “you guys are going to get along well, you’ll see.”
The mane six, Celestia, and Luna were all waiting the hall for their guests.
“Well, here goes nothing.” Twilight said.
They opened the door to reveal a large round table with fourteen seats, only four were occupied.
“We seem to be missing somepony,” Celestia remarked.
“I’m here” replied a harsh voice from a corner. In the corner stood a stallion covered in cloth rolls like a mummy wearing a trench coat, a blank white mask, and a brown hat that was very similar to Mare Dowell’s hat. He then made his way to the table.
“Needed to make sure this wasn’t a trap,” he grunted.
“Ok, well then let’s start introductions.” Twilight said “I’m Twilight Sparkle; I’m Celestia’s student and the spirit of magic.” She then gave a nervous smile. Tesla quickly looked around before he got up. Tesla had a goofy smile and wild blue eyes which were the same tint of blue as his Einstein-like mane. His neon green coat and his prism cutie mark seemed to glow with the sunlight coming through the window.
“Hullo, I’m Dr. TeslaSpark PhD, my friends call me Doc or Tesla,” he declared “I’m owner of Spark Industries, located in Manehattan, and an accomplished inventor.” Without showing he got somewhat disappointed when only half of the room looked remotely impressed.
He quietly sat down as RainbowDash started to hover over the table.
“I’m the one and only RainbowDash, The best flyer in all of Equestria and soon to be Wonderbolt!” she exclaimed with pride. She looked down expecting everyone to look impressed. The only one clapping was Pinkie. RainbowDash slowly flew to her seat. The third pony to stand up was Alexvior.
“Good morning, my name is Commander Alexvior of Luna’s Special Forces,” he said. He then pointed to TankLot.
“This is my second in command, TankLot” Alexvior pointed out
“Hello” TankLot added.
“Everyone in this room can me call Alexvior, except Tank”
“Alright, Alexvior” Tank responded jokingly. All ponies except DarkKarma chuckled, as did Alexvior himself.
“Real funny, Tank” Alexvior sighed.
“Just lighting up the mood, commander” Tank explained with a smile on his face.
“Oh I wanna go! I wanna go!” shouted Pinkie.
“Go ahead Pinkie,” Applejack answered
“I’m PinkiePie and I’m from Ponyville and I have like a biggilion trillion friends there, well not really a biggilion trillion, but you get the idea, and I like to throw parties, and cupcakes and candy and placing the tai-“ She was quickly stopped when Applejack placed her hoof over her mouth.
“That very nice Pinkie, now let somepony else have a turn.” Applejack said. She quickly let go of Pinkie.
“Okey Dokey Loki!” Pinkie exclaimed and sat down. Twilight got up to introduce herself.
“Hello everypony, my name is TwilightSparkle; I’m Princess Celestia’s student and Ponyville’s librarian.”
“Ok now let’s hear from you,” said Twilight pointing to the colt wearing the hat and black mask.
DarkKarma took a deep breath before quickly saying, “I punish those who prey on the innocent, that’s all you need to know.” The room fell silent. In order to not make the silence to awkward, Applejack quickly got out of her seat.
“Well, awfully kind of ya to share Karma.” She said “I’m applejack and I come from good ol’ Sweet Apple Acres in Ponyville. I live with my family AppleBloom, Big Macintosh, and Granny Smith.” YinYan at this point got the courage to speak up. He wasn’t used to introducing himself since he spends most of his days alone in the mountains since he was a young foal.
“Um, Hi I’m uh Y-YinYan, I live in the uh mountains in m-my monastery.”
“Monastery for what?” asked RainbowDash
“Oh, um the Order of the G-Golden Sun,”
“Ok, cool now let’s see Fluttershy introduce herself.” As soon as RainbowDash said that, Fluttershy tensed back in self-protection.
“Oh, come on!” said RainbowDash “just say your name, no one is going to judge you,”
“Ok, my name is…” Fluttershy said before murmuring her name so no one can hear it.
Everyone but DarkKarma leaded forward to hear
“My name is…” Once again nopony heard her name.
“Oh, for crying out loud!” shouted RainbowDash “her name is Fluttershy, she takes care of animals, and as you probably noticed she is VERY shy.”
“Thanks Dash,” said Fluttershy.
“Well now that we got introductions out of the way,” Celestia said “Your probably wonder why I had you all come today,” Most of the ponies around the table nodded their heads. It was to form the second generation of Equestrian Knights. The First Equestrian knights protected Equestria before the Elements of Harmony were discovered in the years directly after the founding of Equestria between 159 B.C.R and 103 B.C.R.”
“Wait what does B.C.R. mean?” asked Rarity
“It means before Celestia’s reign, hence were currently in the year 4303 Celestia’s reign” said Twilight
“Oooooh, makes sense” said RainbowDash
“I do realize that we still have the Elements of Harmony, but the Elements can’t always win the day on their own. So in case of an emergency, if the Elements are not available for whatever reason or the Elements themselves can’t overcome a task, then the Knights will be called for action.”
“Well,” said Tesla “I’m in.”
“Me too” said Yin.
“If Princess Luna allows it,” said Alexvior “I’ll join.”
“I’ll follow as well!” Tank exclaimed.
“Fine.” DarkKarma uttered.
“It’s decided then,” Celestia stated “From now on, all five of you will be known as the Knights of Equestria, protectors of Harmony, and as Knights I already have your first task. I need you guys to get to know each other better; after all you guys are a team. Therefore I’m inviting all of you to stay at my castle for a week, each of you will have a partner that will be assigned by me based on what I learned each pony’s reports. The groups will be announced tomorrow. For now you’ll be shown to your rooms.”
While the all of the ponies were taken through the castle, Twilight ditched her group while the guards weren’t looking, and headed to Celestia’s room. Celestia’s room was painted light blue. In the middle lad a big Persian red King sized bed and on the left toward the entrance of the room was a median sized desk illuminated by a single wax candle. Celestia was doing some last minute royal document work before going to sleep.
“Princess,” Twilight interrupted.
Gasp! “Oh my Faust!” Celestia exclaimed. “You scared me there twilight, I sorry I’m not used to visitors at this time. What can I help you with, my faithful student? ”
“Why did you lie?” Twilight asked
“Sorry?”
“You said that this was the second generation of the Equestrian Knights, when it’s in fact this is the fourth generation. The second were destroyed by Discord forces in 97 B.C.R. and the third died in 310 C.R. securing the Crystal Empire so you and Luna could use the Elements of Harmony on King Sombra. I wanted to call it out during the meeting but I knew you had your reasons. So please tell me, why did you lie?”
Celestia sighed and responded, “Sometimes we have to lie,”
“What?”
“To give hope, I know this is a difficult concept for you to understand or for anybody, including myself, to understand. I can’t just tell them they can die from this, not yet. I know this might not seem like the best decision, I still not sure if it was, nor will I be sure until the day they die, but what is done is done, I hope to Faust that it was the right decision.”
At this point the room was silent. The only noise was the sound of the wind blowing through the open window on the right side of the room. Twilight could not believe what her teacher was telling her. But yet he didn’t stop her from keeping this conversion a secret. She was Celestia’s faithful student after all.

June 13th 9:23 PM
Manehattan, Equestria
First Magical Bank of Equestria
“Everyone put your hands up!” yelled one of the three masked burglars as they were entering the bank. All three of them had bronze double edged swords and big brown bags.
There were two pegasi and one unicorn
“This is a holdup, nopony move!” yelled the black pegasus. The other ponies quickly fell on the floor.
“The bits, in the bag, now!” ordered the orange pegasus. The attendant on the counter, terrified for her life, quickly obliged. One of the security guards was in the back heard all of the commotion. He immediately raced for his mace and headed out of his office. The guard charged for the black Pegasus. Unfortunately for him, he didn’t spot the unicorn behind him. Right when he was about to strike one of the robbers, the unicorn kicked him on the back of both his shin which caused him to collapse on the floor. The black Pegasus moved away his mace and proceeded to kick him in the stomach.
“Stop,” The unicorn ordered calmly in a shrill but somewhat fruity voice. Not the voice of a typical criminal. “Leave him to me, meanwhile load the chariot.” The pegasi did as they were ordered. The Unicorn then bends over to the face of the guard that’s on the guard.
“Well you were brave, I’ll give you that,” said the orange unicorn “Oh where are my manners, let me introduce myself.” He chuckled at his own joke and quickly took off his mask.
His mane was a flame red moved like one, and his eyes were orange as of fire. The most disturbing feature was the scars on both corners of his mouth which gave an appearance of him smiling from literally ear to ear. His teeth were crocked, cracked and oddly shaped which could have been confused for fangs.
“I’m Chaos, lord of anarchy!” He cried proudly. The guard’s eyes were huge with terror and he was paralyzed by fear.
“Now I don’t appreciate what you almost did to my friend there,” He said with a joking smile, while searching in bag for something “It was both stupid and not so nice.” He took out a time bomb.
“So now I’m gonna have to punish you,” Chaos quickly grabbed the guard’s head, forced the jaw open with his magic, and stuffed the bomb between the teeth.
“There’s nothing to worry about, you’ll die instantly, you won’t feel a thing” Chaos said. He then marched off. As soon he left the bank the bomb went off and collapsed the building.
Later he fled with his chariot.
