Friendship and Good Deeds are Rewarded

Applejack and Big Macintosh was resting under an apple tree from their predawn farm chores. They were enjoying the cool breeze blowing through the orchard as the first glimmer of red and orange light broke over the rolling hills in the distance. Both siblings watched the sun slowly ascend as its glow gradually faded the darkness of the night sky.

" Well reckon the sun is finally going to join us this mornin." the orange farm pony chuckled "I don't think any pony could keep up with the early rising Apple family." Applejack stated proudly with a confident grin across her face.

" Umm...A.J. I know you wanted a early start on apple bucking this morning but that cart..." the large red stallion raised a hoof pointing to it " was making an annoying creek and I didn't get a chance to oil it this morning." Big Macintosh said giving his sister an irritated stare.

Applejack glanced over to the cart in question then turned her gaze back to her brother. " We'll just oil the cart at lunch Big Mac. We've just finished placing all the apple catching buckets around the trees..." she raised a hoof and motioned toward the seemingly endless apple trees before them " besides that cart hauled all those buckets so let it go until lunch." she told him while inspecting their predawn work with a feeling of pride swelling inside her at their accomplishment.

Big Macintosh let out a hesitant sigh knowing that he was no match for his sister's stubborn streak which was as wide as Equestria mile and that combined with her since of pride. He knew it was a fight he couldn't win even on his best day and just decided to admit defeat because he had fights with her before this one would be another feather in her hat. " Okay...little sis we should get to work before..."

" You're right big brother. I want the whole south field done today and we'll be done faster than Rainbow Dash trying to save a falling mug of apple cider during the apple cider season." Applejack interrupted with her gungho attitude before rushing over to a nearby tree and gave it a buck from her hind legs.

" ...it gets hotter." Little sis you really need to slow down and take your time and not just rush through the day. Big Macintosh finished before noticing that Applejack was on her six tree already.

Soon the sun was brightly shining over Equestria and bath Ponyville in the warmth of its light. Every pony was going about their day with feeling of pleasant cheerfulness as they preformed all sorts of activities. Applejack and Big Macintosh were still hard at work bucking apples from the trees in the south field of the farm.

" Come on Big Mac!...Ah know you can buck faster than...that." the orange mare called out between her kicks against a very solid tree as its fruit held on in defiance.

The red stallion paused and replied " Eeyup." He took in a deep breath then continued on his task and bucked the next tree before quickly moving to another.

Pinkie Pie was making her way around town enjoying the sunny weather and going about her daily routine of greeting every pony she meets with a bright, cheerful smile.

" Hi Carrot Top!" the pink mare blurted out as she popped out from under a carrot in the garden Carrot Top was tending to before rushing off in blur. Carrot Top was left there clutching her chest with a hoof and frozen in shock at the surprise greeting.

" Hello Lyra! Hi Bon Bon!" Pinkie shouted as she appeared out of thin air from behind the park bench they were sitting on before disappearing back behind the bench again to continue her round of greetings.

" Bon Bon you said you don't understand my obsession with humans but my obsession is easier to understand compared to that pony. Come on that was just weird." Lyra said with a perplexed look.

" Okay...I will...give you that one Lyra." Bon Bon said blinking her eyes and trying to make since of the whole here and gone without a trace greeting.

Rarity was busily working on a dress which was a part of a large order she had received from the shop Hoity Toity owned in Canterlot.

" This dress could use something..." The white unicorn said out loud then tilted her head and stepped back examining it closely with a raised eye brow in thought. A few moments passed before her eyes widen with excitement and her face lit up with joy. " Idea! It needs more rubies." she exclaimed before floating several small rubies over to the dress.

" Hi Rarity!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed jumping out from rack of hanging dresses and bolting out the front door.

Rarity dropped the rubies on to the floor with a short scream from the sudden unwelcome interruption then yelled out " PINKIE PIE!" rattling the windows in the boutique.

Rainbow Dash was busy perfecting a new trick in the sky near her cloud home while thinking how it was going to impress her idles The Wonderbolts.

" I need to add one more loop da loop, three barrel rolls, and a buckneer blaze to my routine or it won't impress any pony." she said to herself while landing on the roof of her cloud home to rest from her practice.

" Hey Dashie!" Rainbow Dash looked over to Pinkie who was floating under a few dozen colorful party balloons that was tied to her chest.

" Hey Pinks!" the rainbow mane pegasus greeted her before laughing out loud at idea of her friend being a self made hot air balloon.

" Later Dashie!" the floating pink pony said as her tail became a propeller, spinning in circles, and sending her flying off toward Ponyville.

" Pinkie you are so random!" Dash Cried out while chuckling at how funny it was that she flew using her tail for propulsion.

Twilight was in the library focusing completely on an assignment she had received from her mentor Princess Celestia while Spike rushed from bookshelf to bookshelf gathering books that she asked him to collect.

" Spike hurry up with those books." the lavender unicorn said to her assistant who was carrying several books stacked in his arms while still focusing on the book in front of her.

" Okay...I'm...walking as fast...as I can." Spike grunted as he wobbled from side to side trying to balance the tower of books swaying with each step.

" Hi Spike!" Pinkie shouted as she burst out from behind some books on a nearby shelf sending them flying and causing the struggling purple dragon to jump into the air then fall to the floor with a thud followed by crashing of falling books. One the flying books hit the wall next to the lavender unicorn causing her to rub a hoof against her temple. " Hello Twilight! that was funny Spike." the pink mare exclaimed while bouncing around and giggling at the pile of books that covered the purple dragon.

" Pinkie I need to concentrate on my assignment from the princess!" Twilight yelled as she turned the lavender unicorn's eye twitch while glaring at the perky pink pony.

" Okie Dokie Lokie I still have two more ponies to greet today bye!" said the pink blur as she flew out the open window next to Twilight.

" How does she do that?" Spike groaned as he crawled out from under the mass of books rubbing his head with a claw.

" I gave up on that sometime ago and I am just going to say that she is the exception to every rule." said the unicorn while rolling her eyes at the unexplainable question her assistant asked before returning to her book.

Fluttershy was setting out food for all of her little animal friends inside her cottage. " There you go my little friends." the timid yellow pegasus said while she poured out some food from a brown sack in front of a few squirrels, a couple rabbits, and a several mice then she felt a rapid series of small thumps against her leg.

She looked down to see her favorite white rabbit gesturing a paw to his open mouth. " Oh Angel." sitting down the sack of food she quickly flew into the kitchen " I made you a large salad with apple slices...lettuce...and...cucumbers." Fluttershy said struggling to carry the large bowl in her forelegs while flying into the the living room with her hind hooves dragging across the floor. As the pink mane pegasus set the bowl on the floor, Angel quickly jumped into the salad began munching on the food.

Knock Knock Knock

Fluttershy trotted to the front door and slowly opened it " Hello...Pinkie." she quietly greeted the pink pony that was standing there calmly with a bright smile on her face.

" Hey Fluttershy just came by to say hello so Hello!" Pinkie Pie said cheerfully.

" Oh well...Hello Pinkie." Fluttershy replied while closing her eyes and giving the biggest smile she could muster on her face. " What brings you out here today Pinkie?" she asked opening her eyes to find the pink mare gone. Fluttershy looked around a moment then slowly closed the door with a confused expression on her face.

Before the yellow pegasus could walk away from the door there was a light knocking at the door " Pinkie?" she asked before opening the door again to find a small grey rabbit standing there. " Oh come inside Mr. Bunny, Angel told me you wanted to talk to me." she said motioned the rabbit inside and closing the door behind the rabbit as it hopped inside.

" So what did you want to talk about Mr. bunny?" the yellow pegasus asked. The grey rabbit squeaked happily at her for a few minutes after which Fluttershy's eyes widen with excitement and flew up into the air. " Oh yes! Mr. Bunny, I would love to watch your baby while you and Mrs. Bunny work on your den." Fluttershy said overwhelmed with joy. The pink maned pegasus turned and excitedly flew to the door to leave with the bunny. She opened the door hurried outside with the rabbit following her before quickly closing the door to her small cottage and followed the small grey rabbit off toward his home.

As Fluttershy walked with the grey rabbit to his home, " Mr. Bunny I am so excited to look after your baby." Fluttershy was practically trembling with joy at the idea of holding a baby bunny in her hooves " You sure have pick a wonderful day for babysitting Mr. Bunny and I will have to tell Rainbow Dash thank you for clearing the skies on this warm sunny day." The yellow pegasus pony looked ahead of her small gray friend and realized they were heading toward Applejack's farm " Um... Mr. Bunny is your home near Sweet Apple Acres?" she asked politely. The small rabbit looked back her and quickly nodded its head then raised a paw to pointed in the direction of his home. She looked where the rabbit had pointed and saw a small opening at the bottom of a large hill, around the top of the hill were several large apple trees.

When they reached the small dirt entrance of the den, she glanced up the hill after hearing a voice yelled " Heellllooo Applejack!" follow closely by another angry voice.

" What the hay Pinkie! Why were you in that apple tree? Pinkie you come back here and clean up your mess!" seeing Applejack was waving a hoof in frustration at the top while Big Macintosh was loading buckets filled with bright red apples onto a cart half way up the hill from her.

"Oh... Mr. Bunny I'm going to go say hello to my friends... if that's.. okay?" Fluttershy asked with reluctance. I want to stay here and hold that cute little baby bunny but it would be impolite to ignore my friends and not greet them. I should go stay hello at least then hurry back for that precious baby bunny. she thought as the rabbit nodded to her and hopped inside the den.

She quickly trotted up the hill toward her friends and greeted Big Macintosh with a softly spoken " Hello " as she passed he lifted a heavy apple filled bucket onto the large wooden cart.

The large red stallion grunted as he place the full bucket in the back of cart then turned to return her greeting with deep, friendly " Howdy. " She gave a blushing smile back at him as she continued onward to her other friend on top of the hill.

When she finally made it up to crest of the hill she watched Applejack lift her hind legs and give a tree shaking buck causing the pegasus to cringe almost out of instinct from the sight of the violent kick . The apples fell from the tree with almost magical precision into the buckets scattered below then Fluttershy timidly spoke almost whispering " H..hello...Applejack."

The orange farm pony with a blonde mane turned to face her with an irritated look before noticing it was Fluttershy and not the previous " Pink Menace"  making her smile while wiping away the sweat dripping down her face with a hoof " Howdy Futtershy what brings you around these parts?"

The yellow pegasus looked up from behind her pink mane that partial covered her face with a quite and joy filled smile. " Oh... I am going to watch Mr. and Mrs. Bunny's new baby while they make their den larger." Fluttershy answered.

" Well that's mighty kind of you." Applejack went on as she removed her hat and finished clearing away the sweat that had built up under it.

Fluttershy's eyes widen with jubilation and her smile stretched almost from ear to ear. " I always like watching baby animals. They are so cute and tiny." She replied.

" Well why don't you take an apple or two with you to eat and share with your rabbit friends?" Applejack said before going over to a nearby bucket of apples and started looking them over.

" Thank you so much Applejack the bunnies will be hungry after they finish their work." she promptly answered while giving a longing glance back down the hill and remembering that the bunnies were waiting for her.

Applejack picked out two of the brightest and juiciest apples in the bucket then roll them toward her friend " Here you go sugar cube."

" Thank you again." Fluttershy answered then picked up the apples in her mouth and swiftly flew back down the hill to the rabbits home. Applejack thought to herself as she watched her normally timid friend That pony sure loves those baby bunnies. Angel might be the reason for her love for bunnies in general.

When Fluttershy returned to the den's opening the rabbits were standing there with their new baby. She placed the two apples that she had brought back with her on the ground " Oh... I am so sorry it took me so long... Applejack gave us some apples to eat after you are done with your den." she said in an almost apologetic tone.

The bunnies squeaked happily as they carefully hopped in front of her and placed a tiny grey bunny in her open hooves for her to watch over. Her eyes widen with excitement  at the tiny shifting bundle of fur in her hooves and she could feel a warmth deep in her heart that only a mother would feel for their foal. The two rabbits quickly hopped back inside their den to start work on improving their home leaving the pegasus outside with their new baby.

Applejack looked down the hill at her big brother who was loading the last of the buckets onto the cart under a nearby apple tree. " Hurry up with that cart, We have to finish this half of the field before we can have lunch." she called out.

Big Macintosh look up answered with an agreeable " Eeyup." as he walked around in front of the cart and placed the harness around his chest. He slowly tugged the wooden cart up the hill with a load of apples already bucked earlier that morning while it continued creek.

As Big Mac reach the crest of the hill a sudden cracking and breaking of wood could be heard coming from behind him, he turned just in time to see the cart's two shafts break into splinters. The heavy apple filled cart began to rolled backwards down the hill as Applejack yelled at him " We gotta catch that cart!" Big Macintosh was already in pursuit of the runaway cart with his sister catching up fast.

The cart quickly built up speed and began to gradually pull away from the two ponies chasing behind it. Applejack looking ahead of the runaway cart suddenly notices that her pegasus friend is right in the path of the cart barreling down the hill. Her face turns from an expression of worry to one of complete terror as she screams out to her friend " Fluttershy! Watch out!" The pegasus looks up just in time to notice the out of control cart just a few feet away, but immediately realizes that she is still holding the baby bunny in her front hooves. Then without a second thought Fluttershy reacts instantly plunging the baby bunny in its soon to be home just as the cart crashes into her with loud and unnerving crunch.

Applejack and Big Macintosh's heart sank in horror when they saw the cart smash into the yellow pegasus with a bone shattering crunch. Applejack kept racing to the scene of the collision shrieking out " Fluttershy! Fluttershy!" as she approached the place where her friend had been, her eyes widen in horror as she looks at her friend laying there in the wake of the cart's path.

Applejack immediately wished this was all was just a terrible nightmare as she gazed her friend laying there motionless. The barely recognizable pegasus lay the crumbled up among scattered yellow feathers. Her friends pale yellow fur was slowly being covered by deep crimson blood seeping from  two gashes at the base of the now almost featherless, contorted, shattered, and bloody appendages. Applejack had to look away as her stomach tried to leap out of her throat at the horrific scene but her mind screamed at her to do something.

As she turn back to the bloody scene the screaming went silent in her head when she saw one of Fluttershy's hind legs pointed straight out to the side with flesh twisted like the strands of a rope. The orange mare's body was frozen in terror at sight and soon her stillness was replaced by shaking as icy feeling spread through out her.

Big Macintosh broke into a sprint without a saying word, straight for Ponyville to get help as fast as he could leaving Applejack with her former pegasus friend.

He was galloping as fast as his legs could carry him but soon his chest started burning from strain he was putting on his lungs but in his mind the bloody image of Fluttershy along with the screams his sister echoing out forced out all the signals his body was sending about the burning pain. The burning continued to spread throughout his body as he made it to the edge of the town and started yelling out " Help! Help! We need a doctor!" The ponies in town were watching him in disbelief at the sprinting and yelling of the normally calm red stallion passing by them.

Pinkie Pie saw Big Mac running toward her and quickly tried asking him "What was going on?" but he raced past her repeating his urgent message and not slowing down even in the slightest.

As the red stallion approached the library in town, Inside Twilight's focus was broken by the sound of some pony outside yelling for help. " Do you hear that Spike?" she asked turning to little purple dragon who was holding large stack of books " Some pony is crying out for help!" she continued before racing to the door and bursting out into the street to locate the pony crying out for help and looking just time to witness a large red sweat stained stallion raced by at full stride with a look of sheer terror on his face.

The lavender unicorn instantly recognized the stallion to be Big Macintosh and raced after him to get some answers for what she had just witnessed. What could have happened to make him that scared? she thought to herself as she fell farther and farther behind him. She followed as fast as she could but simply could not keep up with him and the unicorn had almost lost sight of him when she noticed the build he was entering in front of her was the towns hospital.

Big Macintosh almost broke the doors from their hinges as he plowed through them and into the lobby at the Ponyville hospital. Still trying to catch his breath, he cried out between gasps " Help...Emergency...Fluttershy...Hurt...Badly..." the nurse at the front desk urgently called out for a doctor as the red stallion collapsed to the floor from the burning in his lungs and sharp pains radiating throughout his muscles from his long run from Sweet Apple Acres.

The nurse rushed out from behind her desk started to check on him as a tan unicorn doctor and other two nurses ran up to stallion. " Hurt...Badly...Help...Farm..." he fought to cried out between gasps and the doctor promptly realized the emergency was at Sweet Apple Acres from his former experience with this stallion.

The doctor immediately told the nurses that had followed him into the lobby " Go get the medical cart and quickly follow me!" as he raced toward the front doors of the lobby. The two nurses quickly harnessed themselves to the medical cart outside entrance of the lobby rushed after the doctor as nurse from behind the desk stayed with the collapsed stallion.

As Twilight got closer to the hospital she could see a doctor and his two nurses running toward her with a cart. Twilight moved to side as they rushed passed her, causing unicorn to race even faster toward building in front of her and raising even more questions as her mind was flooded with disturbing scenes of possible problems. This is bad. she thought quickly as she ran through the hospital's front doors and saw the red stallion still recovering on the floor from his exhausting run with a nurse by his side.

Big Macintosh's coat was completely soaked with sweat and his face was drenched as the tears continued to flow down his cheeks. The site of the large stallion in this state caused the unicorn to stop in her tracks out of fear " What as happen? Macintosh Please tell me what as happened? she said almost screaming at him.

Big Macintosh raised his head toward the trembling unicorn and could only say " Flutter...Shy...Farm" with the same horrified look on his face that she had witnessed before.

Twilight instantly began imagine the worst scenarios play out in her head and ran out of the hospital as fast as she could toward Sweet Apple Acres panicking about what could have happened there. All of this can't be happening. This just some big misunderstanding or misinterpretation of what I saw and heard back there. Everything will be fine maybe Fluttershy sprang a hoof and Big Mac over reacted. Yes that's it. It must be. Twilight thought fighting against the mental images popping up in her mind.

While running through town she saw Pinkie Pie standing there with a confused and puzzling look on her face in the front of Sugar Cube Corner. Umm...Big Mac could be galloping through to town like that because he lost a bet maybe like the time I saw him with a girdle on walking down Mane Street that one time or It could be the apple trees finally talked to him and told him that they wanted to be oranges...The apple trees told me that and I told them that they would have to move to Manehatten but they decide not to go because they had really heavy *trunks*... Pinkie Pie stood trying to think of a reason for Big Mac behavior.

" Go get Rarity and Rainbow Dash then bring them to Sweet Apple Acres now!" Pinkie quickly looked up to focus on the pony yelling at her and sees Twilight running toward her panicking and the wearing a fearful look. Yup that was it the apple trees! They finally told Big Mac they wanted to be oranges and now Twilight will be wanting them answer all her questions...Umm maybe she will just turn them into orange trees like she did that day when she wanted to turn me into a orange... She thought before hearing the lavender unicorn again " Pinkie Pie please hurry! Something is not right at Sweet Apple Acres!"

The pink mare looked at Twilight and nodded " Yup, Definitely the trees." before racing off to find Rarity and Rainbow Dash.

It takes Pinkie Pie only a minute or two to reach the shop of her friend, Rarity. She slams open the door to the boutique breaking Rarity's concentration and causing the unicorn let out complaint about the unwelcoming interruption " Pinkie Pie you shouldn't..."

Pinkie quickly interrupts the unicorns complaining by shouting out " The trees are talking and Twilight is panicking that they want to be oranges. Twilight wants you to go to Sweet Apple Acres now." with a smile.

Then Rarity immediately grimaced at the confusing words the pink mare had said " What?" as she rushes to the now empty doorway. She pauses for a split second in confusion at the missing Pinkie Pie " Twilight panicking...trees talking...oranges...well I better go check on Twilight. I remember the last time she got overly panicked and she almost got sent back to Magic Kindergarten." before galloping onwards to Applejack's farm. I have seen Pinkie Pie like this but It could be nothing. She does have a tendency to over react about little things like that whole surprise party and us not liking her. She thought trying remind herself about the randomness of the pink mare.

This flight routine is going to the best one that I have come up with yet. the rainbow maned pegasus thought as she walked over to the edge of her cloud home and prepared to take flight. She licked her lips in anticipation, flared out her wings and placed her front hooves on the edge lowering her her into a position like a predator about to pounce on its prey.

I will be ready this time when I get to see The Wonderbolts. I will show them my awesome, amazing, and radical routine and they will ask me to join their team. I can see it now...Spitfire flying up to me with her mouth hanging open after my spectacular flight routine and asking me...

" Rainbow Dash...Rainbow Dash...Dashie!"

Spitfire must be so amazed that she can't find the words to invite to The Wonderbolts...Wait did Spitfire just call me Dashie? A pink blush rose on her cheeks.

" Oh Dashie! Hey Dashie! Down here! Hello..."

The cyan pegasus shook her head to focus back on reality and scan below for the destroyer of her perfect dream. Soon locking her eyes on the pink dream demolisher. " Hey...Pinkie Pie...perfect timing." she muttered then gave a snort releasing some of her frustration.

" Dashie we have to head over to Applejack' s farm. Twilight is going to talk to the apple trees and explain why they can't be oranges. Twilight wanted us there to watch...or maybe she is finally going to turn me into a orange like I wanted!" The excited pink mare explained before bouncing toward Sweet Apple Acres.

Rainbow Dash slowly flew off behind her pink and confusing friend. "Uh...Umm..." the cyan pegasus was lost for words on just what ask about the reason for going to Applejack's farm. Pinkie Pie is really not making any sense but I guess seeing Twilight talking to a tree about why they be oranges would be pretty funny. she giggle to herself at the image coming to her mind.

Applejack was sitting on her haunches next to Fluttershy's body and began to panic as her tears flowed down her cheeks " Fluttershy, Fluttershy, Please say something sugar cube." she said while quickly placing her hoof next to pegasus's muzzle and felt a faint breathing coming out, this eased her fear about her friend being dead but did not stop the thought of it still happening. " Fluttershy, Fluttershy, Stay with me, Don't you go dying on me." she pleaded while continuing to cry. She placed her two front hooves over the worst bleeding injuries in attempt to stop the blood flowing from them. I can't stop all bleeding! What can I do?...Come on Applejack wake up...wake up...WAKE UP! This has to be a nightmare!

To Applejack it seemed like time had slowed to crawl minutes felt like hours " Why is Big Mac taking so long!" she shouted out loud. Ten minutes had past since Big Macintosh sprinted off before finally she heard voices coming toward her " Over here! Over here! Hurry!" she cried out. Her eyes widening in relief when she saw a doctor and his nurses with a cart rushing toward her. " Please hurry! She's barely breathing!" Applejack spoke as the doctor rushed to side the injured pegasus.

Soon one of the nurses pulled Applejack back away from her friend while the other nurse gather the bags of medical equipment from the cart. " Applejack, you are going to have to give the doctor some room." Nurse said in her most calming voice while still slowly pulling the orange pony away from the area.

Applejack asked at the nurse pulling on her " But is she going...to be okay?" with tears still flowing down her cheek and her body trembling.

" We will do all we can to help her." Nurse replied trying to reassure her but when Applejack saw the other nurse walking over to Fluttershy's body and turn her head away as she placed the equipment down beside the doctor. The doctor grabbed the nurse's foreleg pulling her near to him and looked upset.

Applejack could see the doctor whispering to the nurse assisting him as they started applying the bandages and a neck brace to her friend's body. Suddenly the tan unicorn looks to the nurse beside Applejack " Nurse her injuries are very extensive, we need to rush her back to the hospital." he said with a sense of urgency. The nurse standing by Applejack quickly rushed to the cart and began preparing it for the patient.

The farm pony watched as the doctor's horn began to glow with a blue aura as he carefully lifted her friend into the air. The nurse pulled the cart directly under the floating patient and the doctor gently laid her in the back of the cart. The two nurses began to ready themselves at the front of the cart while the doctor climbed in the back of the cart with his patient. " Okay the patient is ready for transport." he call out to the nurses as they started to pulling away.

Then Applejack heard a familiar voice calling out to her. " APPLEJACK, APPLEJACK!" she turned her head in the direction the voice was coming from and saw Twilight running toward her. She started running to meet her unicorn friend but her tears blurred her vision as she approached the lavender unicorn, when Twilight got close she could see the blood covering Applejack's hooves and her lips began to tremble as tears well up in her eyes " What happened? Where is Fluttershy? Is she...?" She pleaded while took hold of her friends shoulders. Applejack quickly shook her head no to the unicorns relief but not stopping her crying eyes.

" She...She..." sobbed Applejack as she points to the cart leaving in the distance. Twilight grabs onto Applejack shoulders pulling her into hug. " Twilight I need to get to the hospital. We both do." she said trying to pull away from the unicorn's tight embrace.

" Applejack...I...I told the girls...to meet me here. " Twilight said sniffling " I think...we should...wait for them...then go together." she continued pulling Applejack closer and rubbing her back with a hoof. Applejack places her forelegs around the unicorn and cried onto her shoulder.  A few minutes pass as Applejack cried on Twilight's shoulder when another voice is heard making them look up and focus on another one of their friends running to them.

" Darlings Pinkie said something...about talking...trees?...Twilight?...Applejack?" Rarity asked with growing concern at the sight of her friends embracing each other then her eyes caught sight of the crimson red blood on Applejack' s forelegs as they turned to meet her. Her body quickly went numb causing her to stop in her tracks.

" Fluttershy is hurt really bad...they rushed her to the hospital..." Twilight cried before place her head back on Applejack shoulder.

" Is she going to be alright? What happened to her? Why are you two just standing here crying? Why?" Rarity cried out in distress then growing into frustration at her friends. Applejack and Twilight rushed over to her and embraced her. " Get off me! We need to... go..." she struggled against the other two ponies grip on her before her tears began welling up in her eyes and she lost the will to fight. Then came more familiar voices from nearby causing the three ponies raise their heads to look toward the new voices.

" Hey Twilight what's the problem? The trees insult you..." Rainbow Dash asked before stopping mid sentence puzzled by all the hugging and sadden faces " What's...going on?" growing concerned and confused now by the sight below her.

Twilight looks up at Rainbow Dash trying to halt her crying and repeated " Fluttershy... has been hurt really bad...they rushed her to the hospital..."

Applejack tried to apologize " I..I'm...s..sorry... Dash" she said through her sobs.

Rainbow Dash looks down at the three friends, their faces covered in tears, blood on Applejack's hooves, and suddenly her own eyes began to fill up with tears " No way! I don't believe you! " she shouted rushing off towards Ponyville at full speed. The group watches as the rainbow mane pegasus disappear into the distance and soon they hear Pinkie approaching them.

" Hey Twilight, Applejack, Rarity,...where is Rainbow Dash going? I thought you wanted us here?" Pinkie asked while tilting her head with a confused look on her face.

Twilight turned to the pink pony " Fluttershy...got hurt really..." she couldn't finish the sentence and broke down crying again on Applejack's shoulder. Pinkie's poofy hair deflated falling flat against her head and as her eyes welled up with tears Rarity ran over to her friend and hugged her before she could collapse to the ground. The four friends gathered together and cried at the thought of losing their Fluttershy for a minute before Pinkie spoke up.

" Is Fluttershy going to...? " Pinkie asked while shivering at the thought of the unsaid last word.

" I don't know the doctor said she had some really bad injuries and the nurse looked away from Fluttershy when she saw her." Applejack stated with guilty look on her face " I don't know if she will survive but I think you girls should know..."

Twilight placed a hoof over the farm pony's mouth " Applejack I think we should hope for the best and calm ourselves before saying anything about that." She stated with a furrow brow and a shut up look on her face.

" No way...No way...not Fluttershy...No..No..NO!" chanted Rainbow as she landed outside the hospital and raced inside.

Big Macintosh reacted instantly tackling Rainbow to the floor before she could make to the emergency room doors. " Rainbow Dash You can't go in there." he announced with fear in his voice.

Rainbow struggled against his grip " Let Me GO!... SHE CAN'T BE!...IT'S NOT...TRUE!" The cyan pegasus wildly struggled face down on the floor against his grip before he turned her over to face him.

" Rainbow Da..." He felt her kick him in stomach with her freed hind legs. The pain was intense but he was determined to hold her until she could calm down. " R-R-Rainbow...D-Dash stop your going...to hurt yourself...Please...calm down." the kick was stronger than he believed and had knocked most of the air from his lungs as he found himself starting struggle to talk.

" I said let me go! Big Mac!" she gave another kick this time it had connected with one of the stallion hind legs. Big Macintosh slumped a little from the jolting blow to his leg but held his grip on her forelegs. The cyan pegasus screamed at the red stallion before a nurse from the nearby front desk quickly trotted over and gave the screaming pegasus a sharp slap across the face.

Rainbow stopped screaming at the shock of being struck " Miss you disturb the patients again and I will have you escorted out of this building! Understood? " the nurse said with a commanding tone. Rainbow Dash look up at the pony who just slapped her in silence to see the nurse standing there with bewilder at what she had just done.

After a few silent moments Big Macintosh spoke up " Rainbow just calm down and keep it down so you can stay here for Fluttershy." The cyan pegasus began to lightly struggle against him but more controlled this time. Her strength quickly left her as fearful thought took over her mind that she would not be allow to stay or come back to visit Fluttershy in the hospital and this notion impaired her anger from continuing.

" L-L-Let m-me...go..." Rainbow Dash pleaded in a whisper.

The nurse walked back to her desk giving the two ponies an apologetic glance before sitting down in the lingering silent at followed the unexpected action and verb warning. After a few more weakly strains against Big Mac, Rainbow gave up the struggle and let her body go limp. Big Mac slowly released his grip on her forelegs and helped her up off the floor as she started weeping. He wrapped his forelegs around her neck in a hug trying to reassure her that everything would to be alright even as his own mind struggled to accept that idea. Big Mac stood there hugging her and try his best to keep from showing his doubt while holding blue pegasus pony as they waited for their friends to arrive.

Twilight finally spoke up " Girls we need to get go to the hospital..." the tears on her cheeks drying up.The others slowly nodded their heads and galloped toward town as they all fought back their fears. In town several ponies approached the group of friends and tried to ask what had happened but the friends continued galloping on only stating to the other ponies " There was an accident..." after a long fearful filled journey they arrived at the hospital, upon entering the building they see Big Macintosh hugging a crying Rainbow Dash. The group of ponies rush over to them and huddle together as Applejack and Big Macintosh calm down enough to explain to the others what had happened at Sweet Apple Acres.

" We were just finishing up apple bucking and Big Macintosh was coming back up the hill with the cart when we heard the shafts of the cart break. We tried to catch the cart but it was picking up speed and we couldn't reach it in time. I saw Fluttershy in the carts path and yell at her to move but she didn't have time..." Applejack paused fighting back tears again.

Anger started to overwhelm Rainbow Dash when she heard her friend explaining what had happened and when A.J. paused Rainbow grabbed her slamming the orange mare to the floor. " You could have stop that cart. I know you're fast enough. So why didn't you...stop...the...cart...?" Rainbow trailed off as her mind formed possible images of the accident and it's aftermath.

The lavender unicorn reached down and place a hoof on Rainbow's shoulder " Rainbow they will help her don't worry, they are the best doctors in Pon..." Twilight was suddenly cut off when she's knocked down by a shove from Rainbow Dash.

" Twilight I don't want to hear it!" as Rainbow stood up " You could have..." she stated looking down at A.J. " I should have..." she finish before flying out through the lobby doors.

Twilight got back up and started chase after Dash when a foreleg grabbed her from behind. She looked and saw Applejack holding her back " Twi, she just need some time...to sort things out." Applejack says hold on to the lavender unicorn.

" But...SHE NEEDS US!" Twilight screamed out.
