Friendship and Good Deeds are Rewarded

Fluttershy slowly opened her eyes to see a white ceiling above her and the sound of something beeping. She gradually turned head to find source of the sound, finding a beeping heart monitor next to her bed, and then seeing a figure standing next to it. The nurse finish checking the vital stats on the screen of the monitor and look over to check on the yellow pegasus when she noticed pegasus staring bewildered at her. The shocked nurse ran to the door and called out down the hall urgently " Doctor, doctor, she's awake!"

A minute later the doctor hurried into the room and magicked out a small flashlight from the side pocket of his lab coat to check her eyes for any signs of additional trauma. The sudden brightness stung her eye as he examined iris reacting to the light. " Ms. Fluttershy do you know where you are?" he asked as switched to other eye for the same examination. Fluttershy answered with light head shake. " You are in Ponyville hospital. you were in an accident." the doctor continued while listening to her breathing with his stethoscope "  Ms. Fluttershy do have any numbness in your forelegs or hind legs?" the yellow pegasus again only gave a light shake of her head " Any double vision?"

" Umm...N-No..." She replied in a dry and raspy voice " M-May I..."

" Nurse, please bring her some water." the doctor said then resume his examination " Please use your hoof to touch my hoof and then back to touch your nose." he said holding his hoof out in front of her " Good I see no head trauma." and then looked to the nurse standing on the other side of her " Nurse please inform her friends in the lobby that she can have visitors in a few minutes."

The nurse gave the pegasus the glass of water she had got for her. " Yes, doctor." the nurse replied cheerfully before rushing out of the room.

The doctor looked back to the yellow pegasus and waited until she had drank down the water before taking the empty glass from her then set it on the small table at the side of her bed. " Fluttershy  your wings and left hind leg are injured." the doctor stated mildly worried about how she would react " your leg will be fine in a month or two but...." Fluttershy quickly looked down to her sides and saw the misshaped wings bandaged up on either side, her eyes widen.

" I am sorry they may never be capable of flight again." the doctor said with a somber tone.

In the hospital lobby, Spike was still worrying with Big Macintosh patting his back trying to comfort him. When a nurse burst through a set of doors up to Big Macintosh " The doctor said she would be able to have visitor soon!"

Spike and Big Mac's eyes lit up with joy. " We have to find Twilight and the other fast." Spike said bouncing up and down uncontrollably.

" Eeeyup!!" Big Macintosh exclaimed before they both rushed of the lobby.

As Big Macintosh and Spike ran into the center of town, Spike suddenly stopped " Um... Big Mac where do we look for them?"

Big Macintosh sliding to a stopped a few feet ahead of the little purple dragon " Ain't sure?" he answered.

" Let's split up and ask around Ponyville. Some pony may have seen them." Spike remarked.

" Eeyup." Big Mac said nodding his head.

They rushed from pony to pony asking about the girls. Finding that most of the ponies had not seen them today. Spike was about to start panicking when he saw a hot pink pony with yellow mane coming into town toward him. He quickly ran to pony " Cherry Berry have you seen Twilight, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, or Applejack today?" Spike asked her.

" Well yes I did they were heading toward Fluttershy cottage just about half an hour ago." Cherry Berry replied to the little dragon.

" Oh thank you, Cherry Berry. " Spike called back to her as he ran to find Big Macintosh.

Spike was running back to where he and Big Mac split up. He soon spots the red stallion talking a pony at a vegetable stand and called out to Big Macintosh " Hey Cherry Berry said she saw them heading towards Fluttershy's cottage!" Big Mac immediately rushed over picking up Spike and tossing him on his back in one swift motion, then running full gallop toward Fluttershy's house.

Spike and Big Mac soon spotted the cottage and the girls coming out the front door. " Twilight, It's Fluttershy!" Spike calling out from behind the stallion's head.

" Spike, Big Macintosh what's happened?" Twilight called back with fear creeping back in her voice.

" The nurse said Fluttershy could have visitors soon." Spike announced overflowing with joy.

The girls gave a quick glance at each other before sprinting at full speed towards Ponyville, passing by Big Macintosh and Spike in their need to get back to the hospital as fast as possible. Rainbow Dash zoomed ahead of the others with just a rainbow trail for the others to follow.

When Twilight and the others finally rushed through the doors and into the hospital's lobby, a nurse was waiting motioning them through the next set of doors as she call out " Room Fourteen on the left."

When all the ponies enter the room they see Rainbow Dash sitting beside the bed holding Fluttershy's hoof with tears streaming down her face and Fluttershy speaking softly with her. " It's okay...I will be alright." The others break down in tears of joy at the site of their friend and rush to the sides Fluttershy's bed.

" I should have been there for you. It's my fault." Rainbow Dash cried out

The ponies wiping their watery eyes as Fluttershy softly speaks " Rainbow please don't blame yourself for this, it's okay don't cry." as she wipes the tears from Rainbow's cheek.

" No Rainbow it's not your fault. It's ours." Applejack answered followed up by Big Mac's " Eeyup."

Fluttershy reaches out for them, Applejack and Big Mac leaned in letting her hug them and Fluttershy softly tells them " Applejack, Big Mac, it's not your fault either it was just an accident, Don't blame yourselves, Please." as she looks at them with her kind and knowing eyes. Applejack broke down crying as they lay their heads on the her shoulders while Big Macintosh simply wiped a single tear from his eye and let out a deep sigh.

"Fluttershy , the princess is looking for anything that can heal your body and........... wings" Twilight and the others droop their heads as she finish the sentence.

" It's okay girls the doctor explained to me about my wings." as Fluttershy looked at her bandaged and contorted wings.

The ponies let out a gasp as they look back up to her and notice her injured wings for the first time, Applejack instantly starts crying harder than before followed by the others being stunned at the sight of her wings. " It's okay girls, I am glad to give up my wings to save that baby bunny. That is who I am so please don't feel bad." Fluttershy spoke softly as everypony stood there in shock.

The hours pass by like minutes to the ponies in the room as they continued to talk about the princess, the things the doctor discussed with them, and how they felt after the accident before they realized the time as a nurse enter the room with a tray on her back.

" Dinner time for Fluttershy." the nurse said motioning the others aside and placing the tray down on the bed with her mouth. " You ponies make sure she eats some of that food to help her regain some of her strength." she told them as she leaves the room and closing the door behind her.

" Go on, sugar cube you need eat some of that food." Applejack stated looking the tray and being followed up by " Eeyup." from Big Macintosh.

" Yes darling go ahead and eat don't mind us." Rarity added as she looked at her.

" Fluttershy you really need to eat so your body can regain it's strength." Twilight remark looking at her too.

Rainbow Dash leaned over and whispered in her ear " The food doesn't taste that good but that must mean it's good for you." Fluttershy giggled at Rainbow Dash's comment.

" Don't worry Fluttershy tomorrow I'll bring you some cupcakes to eat for breakfast." Pinkie Pie announced bouncing next to her bed.

Fluttershy took a bite of the steamed vegetables on plate in front of her. The bland flavor of the almost tasteless food made her wince and Rainbow leaned back to her whispered " See I told you." as she chuckled quietly beside her. Fluttershy swallowed the mouth full and started giggling again as Rainbow Dash laughed out loud with her. The others looked puzzled at the two ponies before Dash said " It's about the hospital food." while acting like she was gagging causing all the other ponies laugh along with them.

Suddenly Twilight and the others hear the sound of a carriage landing outside and Twilight rushed over to window straining to see through in the darkness, just barely noticing the outline of the royal carriage. " Princess Celestia must be here now! I could see the royal carriage out there." she shouted to the other ponies before catching herself and lowering her voice. She headed to door and as she prepared to open it the knob glowed with a golden aura. Twilight watched the door open and her eyes widen in excitement as the princess greeted her.

" Why hello my faithful student." Princess Celestia said looking down at her.

" Hello your highness." Twilight replied while bowing to her along with rest of the ponies in the room. When she finished her bow and looked back up she spots Princess Luna just behind Celestia. " Oh Princess Luna you came here too?" She asked the dark blue alicorn.

" Yes Twilight Sparkle I have accompanied my sister to help with this task." Luna answered as she stared at the lavender unicorn, then at the other standing in the room and then the yellow pegasus laying in the hospital bed.

Twilight couldn't hold back her anticipation any longer and blurted out " Princess Celestia, Princess Luna please tell me you found a something to heal Fluttershy, please! please!" Twilight's voice full of desperation.

The princess looked down at her with a smile and began to walk toward the bed Fluttershy is laying in " Twilight my dear student, we have found a spell in this book to mend her injuries but....."  Celestia pauses mid sentence looking back to her student with the book floating at her side and the smile disappearing from her face.

" It takes a lot of magic and some ponies to endure the pain of the mending process for the pony receiving the healing." Luna finished the sentence for her sister.

" Is that all?" Rainbow dash exclaimed flying up to the princess.

" We can handle that princess." Applejack remarked in confident manner.

Luna spoke in a angered tone at the ponies for being over zealous and careless with the power of the spell.  " This spell is dangerous, If you fail to complete it. The magic backlash could seriously injure the ponies preforming the spell."

Celestia looked scornfully at her little sister causing the dark blue alicorn to lower her head in a guilt about her outbrust. " Twilight, you and your friends are the ones that have to decide to use this spell or not. The spell does have the risk of which Luna spoke so please use caution and wisdom when deciding your answer." Celestia's voice having a somber tone. " Luna and I will wait outside for your decision." Luna walked out of the room followed by Celestia while closing the door behind them.

" Let's do it, I can take the pain." Rainbow Dash stated proudly puffing her chest out and returning to the side of the bed.

" Hold on Rainbow Dash, What if we fail? We could injure Fluttershy or worst!!!" Applejack replied with fear and anger in her voice.

Then Fluttershy softly spoke up " Oh girls, I can't let you do this. I would feel just terrible if you girls got hurt for me."

" But your wings, darling." Rarity said jumping into the discussion.

" It's Okay..." Fluttershy started to say before being cut off by Twilight

" Girls, We need to talk this through before we can even think about if we should or shouldn't use the spell. It could impact all of us and we could be risking Fluttershy's life on this so calm down and lets talk this through." as Twilight spoke a serious tone. All the friends looked at her and went silent. " Now everypony share your thoughts and opinions on whether or not we should use the spell. One at a time...." She said softly this time " Fluttershy, You may go first since it effects you the most."

The yellow pegasus lower her head began to quietly speak " I..I.. don't want you girls to get hurt for me. I would just feel terrible and..." trailing off into silence at the thought of her friends being hurt do the spell.

Rainbow Dash sat down on the bed next to her and pulled crying pegasus close. " It's okay Fluttershy, I can handle taking the pain for you and I don't want you to worry. I have been injured before so at least this time it would be helping a friend and not from being reckless while flying." Dash said while gently wiping away the tear rolling down the yellow pegasus cheek. Fluttershy raised head and gave Dash a pleased look.

" Now you wait right there Rainbow! You might be able to take it but what if the spell fails it could hurt Fluttershy even more than she now or even....you know." Applejack stated angrily while glaring at the rainbow maned pegasus for being so absent minded of Fluttershy's well being. " I know everypony feels like we must do this but I for one don't want to risk Fluttershy life on this." she finished.

" I certainly want to help Fluttershy too but Applejack is right. I do not want chance her life on this spell. Sorry Twilight I know you are great with magic but thought of losing her should be enough for us to decide not to use it." Rarity spoke with a heartbroken expression on her face and a tear sliding down her cheek.

" Pinkie do you want to tell us what you think?" Twilight asked looking to the pink pony. Pinkie Pie was sitting on her haunches and tapping a hoof to her chin as she stared at the floor. " Pinkie?...Pinkie?...Pinkie!" the lavender unicorn called out as the others turned to see unusual scene. " Well... Big Macintosh you can go next then." she continued still puzzle by Pinkie's deep thinking.

The large stallion looked at his sister and nodded " I don't reckin we should try. I'm mighty sorry Fluttershy." said with a soul crushed look on his face and tears welling up in his eyes.

" I think Rainbow Dash is right! I know Twilight can perform any spell. Especially when it's for a Fluttershy!" Spike declared with confidence in his voice " I know you all won't fail that spell." he continued.

Twilight started to panic " Spike I know I am good with magic but I don't know if I can perform the spell. I haven't even seen the spell in the book Princess Celestia has with her. It could be too complex for me to perform safely or at all for that matter." Twilight told the little purple dragon as thoughts of letting her friends down and images of her failing the spell took hold of her mind.

Fluttershy opened her mouth to speak when Pinkie Pie suddenly interrupted her " That's silly!" they all turned and looked at the pink pony.

" What are you talking about Pinkie? " Rainbow Dash said trying to figure out what Twilight had said that was silly and the other ponies looked just as puzzled as Rainbow at the remark.

" Well if it's a spell to heal ponies. Why would anypony use it if the spell would hurt the pony it was suppose to be healing?" Pinkie announced with the same puzzled expression as her friends. Everypony was in shock as they looked at Pinkie and how what she had said made sense.

Twilight thought about what the two princesses said to them and recalled what Luna had said last  The magic backlash could seriously injure the ponies preforming the spell. Her eyes widen at the realization that Pinkie was right " Everypony Pinkie Pie is right. Luna said it would injure the ponies preforming the spell." She ran over and hugged the pink pony as she continued " Me and the assisting ponies would be the ones at risk not Fluttershy because she would not be performing any part of the spell just receiving the healing effect of it."

All the friends began to smile and hug one another after hearing Twilight. " Everypony I think we have made our decision." Twilight announced proudly before seeing Fluttershy's still worried expression while being hugged by Rainbow Dash. " Fluttershy please allow us to do this. You mean so much to us and we could never forgive ourselves if we didn't at least try." She pleaded to the worried friend. Fluttershy looked back at her and nodded her head knowing they would blame themselves if she didn't let them try.

As the ponies talked about their thoughts and opinions about using the spell, trying to come to a decision. Outside in the hall " Big sister why did you tell me not to mention that we are the only ponies that could perform the spell? and that we are the ones at risk of injury? Shouldn't they know about it?" Luna questioned.

" Luna these ponies have saved Equestria from some of worst enemies we have known and they even saved you. I think we should take the risk to help them in return and them knowing that we could be injured would just make them refuse to use the spell." Celestia quietly replied.

" Yes, you are right big sister. I think it's only right to return their kindness, and risk injury to repay them for bringing me back to you." Luna says hugging her big sister.

Right then the door opens and Twilight steps out. " We have made our decision."

Celestia and Luna follow the unicorn back into the room. " Twilight, what have you and friends decided?" Celestia asked looking at group of ponies.

" We have decide to use the spell. What do we need to do?" Twilight asked in an understanding tone.

Princess Celestia's horn glowed with a gold aura bring the book in front of unicorn and opening it to the spell that was to be used. Twilight began to look over the spell on the page in front of her and started to worry about how complex the spell really was on the page. " But princess I don't think I can perform this spell. It's a very complex and..." Twilight's voice breaking into panic. The others look on with fear in their eyes when they heard Twilight's panicked statement.

Celestia leaned in close to her student " Dear Twilight, Me and Luna will be performing the spell and you must perform this portion. Your friends will not be performing any part of the spell..." she whispered to Twilight while pointing to the page.

After several minutes of whispering between Celestia and Twilight, lavender unicorn turned to her friends " Okay girls, Rarity, Pinkie Pie place one hoof gently on Fluttershy's left wing. Applejack, Rainbow Dash, do the same on her right wing. Now when the spell starts every pony must close their eyes and focus their thoughts on Fluttershy. It's important that no pony opens their eyes or removes their hoof no matter what! Okay girls?" Twilight instructed with slight demanding tone " Big Macintosh, Spike you will have to close your eyes like the others until I say it okay to open them."

They all looked back at her and nodded their heads as girls moved the sides they had been instructed to be on and placed their hooves gently as possible on her bandaged wings while making sure that they were not causing pain to Fluttershy. Twilight turns to Princess Celestia " I am ready to begin princess." As Twilight's horn began to glow with a purple aura her friends closed their eyes. Celestia and Luna move to each side of Twilight, their horns also glowing with magic as they begin preforming their part of the spell. Twilight watches as Fluttershy's body begin to glow with a mixture of the princesses magic and her own magic. The reason for the princesses to perform the healing spell repeated in her mind as she watched the magic heal Fluttershy's wings.

" Twilight you must use your magic to channel the pain of healing process into us. Your friends would not be able to endure to stress of the spell's power and effects without suffering serious injuries, so Luna and I will endure it for them, but you must know we are doing this not only for Equestria, seeing as she is a Bearer of a Element of Harmony. We also do this to thank you and your friends for reuniting Luna with me." Twilight focused on her part of the spell when she looks at Princess Celestia's face to see it grimaced in pain and eyes welling up with tears. Before turning to see Princess Luna with the same painful look on her face tears steaming down the alicorn's cheeks.

After what felt like hours passing by, the princesses magic faded from Fluttershy's body. " Twilight we must...return to Canterlot now...to recover." Celestia whispered to Twilight breathing heavily.

Twilight hugged Celestia and whispered " Thank so much for helping Fluttershy princess." and then walked over to Luna hugged her while whispering " Thank you so much Princess Luna for helping Fluttershy and me."

Luna whispered back to her " No thank you for reuniting me with my big sister." Luna and Celestia gave a smile to the lavender unicorn and softly walked out of the room. Twilight tip hoofed to the window and watched the two princess get on their carriage.

" Okay everypony, you can open your eyes now. The spell is complete and look girls Fluttershy's wings are completely healed." Twilight announced joyfully.

They all opened their eyes and looked at Fluttershy's wings, which looked as if nothing had ever happened to them. They even noticed the cast on her broken leg was gone and the leg was completely healed from the spells magic. They all hugged Fluttershy and began to cry for joy having her back to her old self.

" WE SHOULD HAVE A FLUTTERSHY IS COMPLETELY HEALED HAPPY EVER AFTER PARTY." Pinkie Pie shouted before bouncing around full of happiness and joy filled energy as normal. " Let's Go!"

Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity, and Big Macintosh helped Fluttershy out of the hospital bed still being careful with her. Fluttershy slowly spread her wings " Thank you all for healing me." Slowly she began to flap her wings, as her friends looked on.

" Let's go!!!" Pinkie shouted still bouncing impatiently " Hurry!!"

As all her friends were leave the room, Twilight stood there with the last words whispered to her by Celestia before she told her friends what to do during the spell " Twilight please keep the reason and us performing the spell secret from your friends. They would only worry about what they had us go through and remember friendship and good deeds are always rewarded my dear student." Twilight looks to the door to see Fluttershy enter the door way.

" Are you okay Twilight?" The yellow pegasus ask with a concerned expression across her face.

" Yes, Fluttershy I'm alright." smiling back at her. " Let's go. Everypony will be waiting." she continued as they walked out of the room together.
