They were enjoying the cool breeze blowing through the orchard as the first glimmer of red and orange light broke over the rolling hills in the distance. Both siblings watched the sun slowly ascend as its glow gradually faded the darkness of the night sky. " Well reckon the sun is finally going to join us this mornin." the orange farm pony chuckled "I don't think any pony could keep up with the early rising Apple family." Applejack stated proudly with a confident grin across her face. " Umm...A.J. I know you wanted a early start on apple bucking this morning but that cart..." the large red stallion raised a hoof pointing to it " was making an annoying creek and I didn't get a chance to oil it this morning." Big Macintosh said giving his sister an irritated stare. Applejack glanced over to the cart in question then turned her gaze back to her brother. " We'll just oil the cart at lunch Big Mac. We've just finished placing all the apple catching buckets around the trees..." she raised a hoof and motioned toward the seemingly endless apple trees before them " besides that cart hauled all those buckets so let it go until lunch." she told him while inspecting their predawn work with a feeling of pride swelling inside her at their accomplishment. Big Macintosh let out a hesitant sigh knowing that he was no match for his sister's stubborn streak which was as wide as Equestria mile and that combined with her since of pride. He knew it was a fight he couldn't win even on his best day and just decided to admit defeat because he had fights with her before this one would be another feather in her hat. " Okay...little sis we should get to work before..." " You're right big brother. I want the whole south field done today and we'll be done faster than Rainbow Dash trying to save a falling mug of apple cider during the apple cider season." Applejack interrupted with her gungho attitude before rushing over to a nearby tree and gave it a buck from her hind legs. " ...it gets hotter." Little sis you really need to slow down and take your time and not just rush through the day. Big Macintosh finished before noticing that Applejack was on her six tree already. Soon the sun was brightly shining over Equestria and bath Ponyville in the warmth of its light. Every pony was going about their day with feeling of pleasant cheerfulness as they preformed all sorts of activities. Applejack and Big Macintosh were still hard at work bucking apples from the trees in the south field of the farm. " Come on Big Mac!...Ah know you can buck faster than...that." the orange mare called out between her kicks against a very solid tree as its fruit held on in defiance. The red stallion paused and replied " Eeyup." He took in a deep breath then continued on his task and bucked the next tree before quickly moving to another. Pinkie Pie was making her way around town enjoying the sunny weather and going about her daily routine of greeting every pony she meets with a bright, cheerful smile. " Hi Carrot Top!" the pink mare blurted out as she popped out from under a carrot in the garden Carrot Top was tending to before rushing off in blur. Carrot Top was left there clutching her chest with a hoof and frozen in shock at the surprise greeting. " Hello Lyra! Hi Bon Bon!" Pinkie shouted as she appeared out of thin air from behind the park bench they were sitting on before disappearing back behind the bench again to continue her round of greetings. " Bon Bon you said you don't understand my obsession with humans but my obsession is easier to understand compared to that pony. Come on that was just weird." Lyra said with a perplexed look. " Okay...I will...give you that one Lyra." Bon Bon said blinking her eyes and trying to make since of the whole here and gone without a trace greeting. Rarity was busily working on a dress which was a part of a large order she had received from the shop Hoity Toity owned in Canterlot. " This dress could use something..." The white unicorn said out loud then tilted her head and stepped back examining it closely with a raised eye brow in thought. A few moments passed before her eyes widen with excitement and her face lit up with joy. " Idea! It needs more rubies." she exclaimed before floating several small rubies over to the dress. " Hi Rarity!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed jumping out from rack of hanging dresses and bolting out the front door. Rarity dropped the rubies on to the floor with a short scream from the sudden unwelcome interruption then yelled out " PINKIE PIE!" rattling the windows in the boutique. Rainbow Dash was busy perfecting a new trick in the sky near her cloud home while thinking how it was going to impress her idles The Wonderbolts. " I need to add one more loop da loop, three barrel rolls, and a buckneer blaze to my routine or it won't impress any pony." she said to herself while landing on the roof of her cloud home to rest from her practice. " Hey Dashie!" Rainbow Dash looked over to Pinkie who was floating under a few dozen colorful party balloons that was tied to her chest. " Hey Pinks!" the rainbow mane pegasus greeted her before laughing out loud at idea of her friend being a self made hot air balloon. " Later Dashie!" the floating pink pony said as her tail became a propeller, spinning in circles, and sending her flying off toward Ponyville. " Pinkie you are so random!" Dash Cried out while chuckling at how funny it was that she flew using her tail for propulsion. Twilight was in the library focusing completely on an assignment she had received from her mentor Princess Celestia while Spike rushed from bookshelf to bookshelf gathering books that she asked him to collect. " Spike hurry up with those books." the lavender unicorn said to her assistant who was carrying several books stacked in his arms while still focusing on the book in front of her. " Okay...I'm...walking as fast...as I can." Spike grunted as he wobbled from side to side trying to balance the tower of books swaying with each step. " Hi Spike!" Pinkie shouted as she burst out from behind some books on a nearby shelf sending them flying and causing the struggling purple dragon to jump into the air then fall to the floor with a thud followed by crashing of falling books. One the flying books hit the wall next to the lavender unicorn causing her to rub a hoof against her temple. " Hello Twilight! that was funny Spike." the pink mare exclaimed while bouncing around and giggling at the pile of books that covered the purple dragon. " Pinkie I need to concentrate on my assignment from the princess!" Twilight yelled as she turned the lavender unicorn's eye twitch while glaring at the perky pink pony. " Okie Dokie Lokie I still have two more ponies to greet today bye!" said the pink blur as she flew out the open window next to Twilight. " How does she do that?" Spike groaned as he crawled out from under the mass of books rubbing his head with a claw. " I gave up on that sometime ago and I am just going to say that she is the exception to every rule." said the unicorn while rolling her eyes at the unexplainable question her assistant asked before returning to her book. Fluttershy was setting out food for all of her little animal friends inside her cottage. " There you go my little friends." the timid yellow pegasus said while she poured out some food from a brown sack in front of a few squirrels, a couple rabbits, and a several mice then she felt a rapid series of small thumps against her leg. She looked down to see her favorite white rabbit gesturing a paw to his open mouth. " Oh Angel." sitting down the sack of food she quickly flew into the kitchen " I made you a large salad with apple slices...lettuce...and...cucumbers." Fluttershy said struggling to carry the large bowl in her forelegs while flying into the the living room with her hind hooves dragging across the floor. As the pink mane pegasus set the bowl on the floor, Angel quickly jumped into the salad began munching on the food. Knock Knock Knock Fluttershy trotted to the front door and slowly opened it " Hello...Pinkie." she quietly greeted the pink pony that was standing there calmly with a bright smile on her face. " Hey Fluttershy just came by to say hello so Hello!" Pinkie Pie said cheerfully. " Oh well...Hello Pinkie." Fluttershy replied while closing her eyes and giving the biggest smile she could muster on her face. " What brings you out here today Pinkie?" she asked opening her eyes to find the pink mare gone. Fluttershy looked around a moment then slowly closed the door with a confused expression on her face. Before the yellow pegasus could walk away from the door there was a light knocking at the door " Pinkie?" she asked before opening the door again to find a small grey rabbit standing there. " Oh come inside Mr. Bunny, Angel told me you wanted to talk to me." she said motioned the rabbit inside and closing the door behind the rabbit as it hopped inside. " So what did you want to talk about Mr. bunny?" the yellow pegasus asked. The grey rabbit squeaked happily at her for a few minutes after which Fluttershy's eyes widen with excitement and flew up into the air. " Oh yes! Mr. Bunny, I would love to watch your baby while you and Mrs. Bunny work on your den." Fluttershy said overwhelmed with joy. The pink maned pegasus turned and excitedly flew to the door to leave with the bunny. She opened the door hurried outside with the rabbit following her before quickly closing the door to her small cottage and followed the small grey rabbit off toward his home. As Fluttershy walked with the grey rabbit to his home, " Mr. Bunny I am so excited to look after your baby." Fluttershy was practically trembling with joy at the idea of holding a baby bunny in her hooves " You sure have pick a wonderful day for babysitting Mr. Bunny and I will have to tell Rainbow Dash thank you for clearing the skies on this warm sunny day." The yellow pegasus pony looked ahead of her small gray friend and realized they were heading toward Applejack's farm " Um... Mr. Bunny is your home near Sweet Apple Acres?" she asked politely. The small rabbit looked back her and quickly nodded its head then raised a paw to pointed in the direction of his home. She looked where the rabbit had pointed and saw a small opening at the bottom of a large hill, around the top of the hill were several large apple trees. When they reached the small dirt entrance of the den, she glanced up the hill after hearing a voice yelled " Heellllooo Applejack!" follow closely by another angry voice. " What the hay Pinkie! Why were you in that apple tree? Pinkie you come back here and clean up your mess!" seeing Applejack was waving a hoof in frustration at the top while Big Macintosh was loading buckets filled with bright red apples onto a cart half way up the hill from her. "Oh... Mr. Bunny I'm going to go say hello to my friends... if that's.. okay?" Fluttershy asked with reluctance. I want to stay here and hold that cute little baby bunny but it would be impolite to ignore my friends and not greet them. I should go stay hello at least then hurry back for that precious baby bunny. she thought as the rabbit nodded to her and hopped inside the den. She quickly trotted up the hill toward her friends and greeted Big Macintosh with a softly spoken " Hello " as she passed he lifted a heavy apple filled bucket onto the large wooden cart. The large red stallion grunted as he place the full bucket in the back of cart then turned to return her greeting with deep, friendly " Howdy. " She gave a blushing smile back at him as she continued onward to her other friend on top of the hill. When she finally made it up to crest of the hill she watched Applejack lift her hind legs and give a tree shaking buck causing the pegasus to cringe almost out of instinct from the sight of the violent kick . The apples fell from the tree with almost magical precision into the buckets scattered below then Fluttershy timidly spoke almost whispering " H..hello...Applejack." The orange farm pony with a blonde mane turned to face her with an irritated look before noticing it was Fluttershy and not the previous " Pink Menace"  making her smile while wiping away the sweat dripping down her face with a hoof " Howdy Futtershy what brings you around these parts?" The yellow pegasus looked up from behind her pink mane that partial covered her face with a quite and joy filled smile. " Oh... I am going to watch Mr. and Mrs. Bunny's new baby while they make their den larger." Fluttershy answered. " Well that's mighty kind of you." Applejack went on as she removed her hat and finished clearing away the sweat that had built up under it. Fluttershy's eyes widen with jubilation and her smile stretched almost from ear to ear. " I always like watching baby animals. They are so cute and tiny." She replied. " Well why don't you take an apple or two with you to eat and share with your rabbit friends?" Applejack said before going over to a nearby bucket of apples and started looking them over. " Thank you so much Applejack the bunnies will be hungry after they finish their work." she promptly answered while giving a longing glance back down the hill and remembering that the bunnies were waiting for her. Applejack picked out two of the brightest and juiciest apples in the bucket then roll them toward her friend " Here you go sugar cube." " Thank you again." Fluttershy answered then picked up the apples in her mouth and swiftly flew back down the hill to the rabbits home. Applejack thought to herself as she watched her normally timid friend That pony sure loves those baby bunnies. Angel might be the reason for her love for bunnies in general. When Fluttershy returned to the den's opening the rabbits were standing there with their new baby. She placed the two apples that she had brought back with her on the ground " Oh... I am so sorry it took me so long... Applejack gave us some apples to eat after you are done with your den." she said in an almost apologetic tone. The bunnies squeaked happily as they carefully hopped in front of her and placed a tiny grey bunny in her open hooves for her to watch over. Her eyes widen with excitement  at the tiny shifting bundle of fur in her hooves and she could feel a warmth deep in her heart that only a mother would feel for their foal. The two rabbits quickly hopped back inside their den to start work on improving their home leaving the pegasus outside with their new baby. Applejack looked down the hill at her big brother who was loading the last of the buckets onto the cart under a nearby apple tree. " Hurry up with that cart, We have to finish this half of the field before we can have lunch." she called out. Big Macintosh look up answered with an agreeable " Eeyup." as he walked around in front of the cart and placed the harness around his chest. He slowly tugged the wooden cart up the hill with a load of apples already bucked earlier that morning while it continued creek. As Big Mac reach the crest of the hill a sudden cracking and breaking of wood could be heard coming from behind him, he turned just in time to see the cart's two shafts break into splinters. The heavy apple filled cart began to rolled backwards down the hill as Applejack yelled at him " We gotta catch that cart!" Big Macintosh was already in pursuit of the runaway cart with his sister catching up fast. The cart quickly built up speed and began to gradually pull away from the two ponies chasing behind it. Applejack looking ahead of the runaway cart suddenly notices that her pegasus friend is right in the path of the cart barreling down the hill. Her face turns from an expression of worry to one of complete terror as she screams out to her friend " Fluttershy! Watch out!" The pegasus looks up just in time to notice the out of control cart just a few feet away, but immediately realizes that she is still holding the baby bunny in her front hooves. Then without a second thought Fluttershy reacts instantly plunging the baby bunny in its soon to be home just as the cart crashes into her with loud and unnerving crunch. Applejack and Big Macintosh's heart sank in horror when they saw the cart smash into the yellow pegasus with a bone shattering crunch. Applejack kept racing to the scene of the collision shrieking out " Fluttershy! Fluttershy!" as she approached the place where her friend had been, her eyes widen in horror as she looks at her friend laying there in the wake of the cart's path. Applejack immediately wished this was all was just a terrible nightmare as she gazed her friend laying there motionless. The barely recognizable pegasus lay the crumbled up among scattered yellow feathers. Her friends pale yellow fur was slowly being covered by deep crimson blood seeping from  two gashes at the base of the now almost featherless, contorted, shattered, and bloody appendages. Applejack had to look away as her stomach tried to leap out of her throat at the horrific scene but her mind screamed at her to do something. As she turn back to the bloody scene the screaming went silent in her head when she saw one of Fluttershy's hind legs pointed straight out to the side with flesh twisted like the strands of a rope. The orange mare's body was frozen in terror at sight and soon her stillness was replaced by shaking as icy feeling spread through out her. Big Macintosh broke into a sprint without a saying word, straight for Ponyville to get help as fast as he could leaving Applejack with her former pegasus friend. He was galloping as fast as his legs could carry him but soon his chest started burning from strain he was putting on his lungs but in his mind the bloody image of Fluttershy along with the screams his sister echoing out forced out all the signals his body was sending about the burning pain. The burning continued to spread throughout his body as he made it to the edge of the town and started yelling out " Help! Help! We need a doctor!" The ponies in town were watching him in disbelief at the sprinting and yelling of the normally calm red stallion passing by them. Pinkie Pie saw Big Mac running toward her and quickly tried asking him "What was going on?" but he raced past her repeating his urgent message and not slowing down even in the slightest. As the red stallion approached the library in town, Inside Twilight's focus was broken by the sound of some pony outside yelling for help. " Do you hear that Spike?" she asked turning to little purple dragon who was holding large stack of books " Some pony is crying out for help!" she continued before racing to the door and bursting out into the street to locate the pony crying out for help and looking just time to witness a large red sweat stained stallion raced by at full stride with a look of sheer terror on his face. The lavender unicorn instantly recognized the stallion to be Big Macintosh and raced after him to get some answers for what she had just witnessed. What could have happened to make him that scared? she thought to herself as she fell farther and farther behind him. She followed as fast as she could but simply could not keep up with him and the unicorn had almost lost sight of him when she noticed the build he was entering in front of her was the towns hospital. Big Macintosh almost broke the doors from their hinges as he plowed through them and into the lobby at the Ponyville hospital. Still trying to catch his breath, he cried out between gasps " Help...Emergency...Fluttershy...Hurt...Badly..." the nurse at the front desk urgently called out for a doctor as the red stallion collapsed to the floor from the burning in his lungs and sharp pains radiating throughout his muscles from his long run from Sweet Apple Acres. The nurse rushed out from behind her desk started to check on him as a tan unicorn doctor and other two nurses ran up to stallion. " Hurt...Badly...Help...Farm..." he fought to cried out between gasps and the doctor promptly realized the emergency was at Sweet Apple Acres from his former experience with this stallion. The doctor immediately told the nurses that had followed him into the lobby " Go get the medical cart and quickly follow me!" as he raced toward the front doors of the lobby. The two nurses quickly harnessed themselves to the medical cart outside entrance of the lobby rushed after the doctor as nurse from behind the desk stayed with the collapsed stallion. As Twilight got closer to the hospital she could see a doctor and his two nurses running toward her with a cart. Twilight moved to side as they rushed passed her, causing unicorn to race even faster toward building in front of her and raising even more questions as her mind was flooded with disturbing scenes of possible problems. This is bad. she thought quickly as she ran through the hospital's front doors and saw the red stallion still recovering on the floor from his exhausting run with a nurse by his side. Big Macintosh's coat was completely soaked with sweat and his face was drenched as the tears continued to flow down his cheeks. The site of the large stallion in this state caused the unicorn to stop in her tracks out of fear " What as happen? Macintosh Please tell me what as happened? she said almost screaming at him. Big Macintosh raised his head toward the trembling unicorn and could only say " Flutter...Shy...Farm" with the same horrified look on his face that she had witnessed before. Twilight instantly began imagine the worst scenarios play out in her head and ran out of the hospital as fast as she could toward Sweet Apple Acres panicking about what could have happened there. All of this can't be happening. This just some big misunderstanding or misinterpretation of what I saw and heard back there. Everything will be fine maybe Fluttershy sprang a hoof and Big Mac over reacted. Yes that's it. It must be. Twilight thought fighting against the mental images popping up in her mind. While running through town she saw Pinkie Pie standing there with a confused and puzzling look on her face in the front of Sugar Cube Corner. Umm...Big Mac could be galloping through to town like that because he lost a bet maybe like the time I saw him with a girdle on walking down Mane Street that one time or It could be the apple trees finally talked to him and told him that they wanted to be oranges...The apple trees told me that and I told them that they would have to move to Manehatten but they decide not to go because they had really heavy *trunks*... Pinkie Pie stood trying to think of a reason for Big Mac behavior. " Go get Rarity and Rainbow Dash then bring them to Sweet Apple Acres now!" Pinkie quickly looked up to focus on the pony yelling at her and sees Twilight running toward her panicking and the wearing a fearful look. Yup that was it the apple trees! They finally told Big Mac they wanted to be oranges and now Twilight will be wanting them answer all her questions...Umm maybe she will just turn them into orange trees like she did that day when she wanted to turn me into a orange... She thought before hearing the lavender unicorn again " Pinkie Pie please hurry! Something is not right at Sweet Apple Acres!" The pink mare looked at Twilight and nodded " Yup, Definitely the trees." before racing off to find Rarity and Rainbow Dash. It takes Pinkie Pie only a minute or two to reach the shop of her friend, Rarity. She slams open the door to the boutique breaking Rarity's concentration and causing the unicorn let out complaint about the unwelcoming interruption " Pinkie Pie you shouldn't..." Pinkie quickly interrupts the unicorns complaining by shouting out " The trees are talking and Twilight is panicking that they want to be oranges. Twilight wants you to go to Sweet Apple Acres now." with a smile. Then Rarity immediately grimaced at the confusing words the pink mare had said " What?" as she rushes to the now empty doorway. She pauses for a split second in confusion at the missing Pinkie Pie " Twilight panicking...trees talking...oranges...well I better go check on Twilight. I remember the last time she got overly panicked and she almost got sent back to Magic Kindergarten." before galloping onwards to Applejack's farm. I have seen Pinkie Pie like this but It could be nothing. She does have a tendency to over react about little things like that whole surprise party and us not liking her. She thought trying remind herself about the randomness of the pink mare. This flight routine is going to the best one that I have come up with yet. the rainbow maned pegasus thought as she walked over to the edge of her cloud home and prepared to take flight. She licked her lips in anticipation, flared out her wings and placed her front hooves on the edge lowering her her into a position like a predator about to pounce on its prey. I will be ready this time when I get to see The Wonderbolts. I will show them my awesome, amazing, and radical routine and they will ask me to join their team. I can see it now...Spitfire flying up to me with her mouth hanging open after my spectacular flight routine and asking me... " Rainbow Dash...Rainbow Dash...Dashie!" Spitfire must be so amazed that she can't find the words to invite to The Wonderbolts...Wait did Spitfire just call me Dashie? A pink blush rose on her cheeks. " Oh Dashie! Hey Dashie! Down here! Hello..." The cyan pegasus shook her head to focus back on reality and scan below for the destroyer of her perfect dream. Soon locking her eyes on the pink dream demolisher. " Hey...Pinkie Pie...perfect timing." she muttered then gave a snort releasing some of her frustration. " Dashie we have to head over to Applejack' s farm. Twilight is going to talk to the apple trees and explain why they can't be oranges. Twilight wanted us there to watch...or maybe she is finally going to turn me into a orange like I wanted!" The excited pink mare explained before bouncing toward Sweet Apple Acres. Rainbow Dash slowly flew off behind her pink and confusing friend. "Uh...Umm..." the cyan pegasus was lost for words on just what ask about the reason for going to Applejack's farm. Pinkie Pie is really not making any sense but I guess seeing Twilight talking to a tree about why they be oranges would be pretty funny. she giggle to herself at the image coming to her mind. Applejack was sitting on her haunches next to Fluttershy's body and began to panic as her tears flowed down her cheeks " Fluttershy, Fluttershy, Please say something sugar cube." she said while quickly placing her hoof next to pegasus's muzzle and felt a faint breathing coming out, this eased her fear about her friend being dead but did not stop the thought of it still happening. " Fluttershy, Fluttershy, Stay with me, Don't you go dying on me." she pleaded while continuing to cry. She placed her two front hooves over the worst bleeding injuries in attempt to stop the blood flowing from them. I can't stop all bleeding! What can I do?...Come on Applejack wake up...wake up...WAKE UP! This has to be a nightmare! To Applejack it seemed like time had slowed to crawl minutes felt like hours " Why is Big Mac taking so long!" she shouted out loud. Ten minutes had past since Big Macintosh sprinted off before finally she heard voices coming toward her " Over here! Over here! Hurry!" she cried out. Her eyes widening in relief when she saw a doctor and his nurses with a cart rushing toward her. " Please hurry! She's barely breathing!" Applejack spoke as the doctor rushed to side the injured pegasus. Soon one of the nurses pulled Applejack back away from her friend while the other nurse gather the bags of medical equipment from the cart. " Applejack, you are going to have to give the doctor some room." Nurse said in her most calming voice while still slowly pulling the orange pony away from the area. Applejack asked at the nurse pulling on her " But is she going...to be okay?" with tears still flowing down her cheek and her body trembling. " We will do all we can to help her." Nurse replied trying to reassure her but when Applejack saw the other nurse walking over to Fluttershy's body and turn her head away as she placed the equipment down beside the doctor. The doctor grabbed the nurse's foreleg pulling her near to him and looked upset. Applejack could see the doctor whispering to the nurse assisting him as they started applying the bandages and a neck brace to her friend's body. Suddenly the tan unicorn looks to the nurse beside Applejack " Nurse her injuries are very extensive, we need to rush her back to the hospital." he said with a sense of urgency. The nurse standing by Applejack quickly rushed to the cart and began preparing it for the patient. The farm pony watched as the doctor's horn began to glow with a blue aura as he carefully lifted her friend into the air. The nurse pulled the cart directly under the floating patient and the doctor gently laid her in the back of the cart. The two nurses began to ready themselves at the front of the cart while the doctor climbed in the back of the cart with his patient. " Okay the patient is ready for transport." he call out to the nurses as they started to pulling away. Then Applejack heard a familiar voice calling out to her. " APPLEJACK, APPLEJACK!" she turned her head in the direction the voice was coming from and saw Twilight running toward her. She started running to meet her unicorn friend but her tears blurred her vision as she approached the lavender unicorn, when Twilight got close she could see the blood covering Applejack's hooves and her lips began to tremble as tears well up in her eyes " What happened? Where is Fluttershy? Is she...?" She pleaded while took hold of her friends shoulders. Applejack quickly shook her head no to the unicorns relief but not stopping her crying eyes. " She...She..." sobbed Applejack as she points to the cart leaving in the distance. Twilight grabs onto Applejack shoulders pulling her into hug. " Twilight I need to get to the hospital. We both do." she said trying to pull away from the unicorn's tight embrace. " Applejack...I...I told the girls...to meet me here. " Twilight said sniffling " I think...we should...wait for them...then go together." she continued pulling Applejack closer and rubbing her back with a hoof. Applejack places her forelegs around the unicorn and cried onto her shoulder.  A few minutes pass as Applejack cried on Twilight's shoulder when another voice is heard making them look up and focus on another one of their friends running to them. " Darlings Pinkie said something...about talking...trees?...Twilight?...Applejack?" Rarity asked with growing concern at the sight of her friends embracing each other then her eyes caught sight of the crimson red blood on Applejack' s forelegs as they turned to meet her. Her body quickly went numb causing her to stop in her tracks. " Fluttershy is hurt really bad...they rushed her to the hospital..." Twilight cried before place her head back on Applejack shoulder. " Is she going to be alright? What happened to her? Why are you two just standing here crying? Why?" Rarity cried out in distress then growing into frustration at her friends. Applejack and Twilight rushed over to her and embraced her. " Get off me! We need to... go..." she struggled against the other two ponies grip on her before her tears began welling up in her eyes and she lost the will to fight. Then came more familiar voices from nearby causing the three ponies raise their heads to look toward the new voices. " Hey Twilight what's the problem? The trees insult you..." Rainbow Dash asked before stopping mid sentence puzzled by all the hugging and sadden faces " What's...going on?" growing concerned and confused now by the sight below her. Twilight looks up at Rainbow Dash trying to halt her crying and repeated " Fluttershy... has been hurt really bad...they rushed her to the hospital..." Applejack tried to apologize " I..I'm...s..sorry... Dash" she said through her sobs. Rainbow Dash looks down at the three friends, their faces covered in tears, blood on Applejack's hooves, and suddenly her own eyes began to fill up with tears " No way! I don't believe you! " she shouted rushing off towards Ponyville at full speed. The group watches as the rainbow mane pegasus disappear into the distance and soon they hear Pinkie approaching them. " Hey Twilight, Applejack, Rarity,...where is Rainbow Dash going? I thought you wanted us here?" Pinkie asked while tilting her head with a confused look on her face. Twilight turned to the pink pony " Fluttershy...got hurt really..." she couldn't finish the sentence and broke down crying again on Applejack's shoulder. Pinkie's poofy hair deflated falling flat against her head and as her eyes welled up with tears Rarity ran over to her friend and hugged her before she could collapse to the ground. The four friends gathered together and cried at the thought of losing their Fluttershy for a minute before Pinkie spoke up. " Is Fluttershy going to...? " Pinkie asked while shivering at the thought of the unsaid last word. " I don't know the doctor said she had some really bad injuries and the nurse looked away from Fluttershy when she saw her." Applejack stated with guilty look on her face " I don't know if she will survive but I think you girls should know..." Twilight placed a hoof over the farm pony's mouth " Applejack I think we should hope for the best and calm ourselves before saying anything about that." She stated with a furrow brow and a shut up look on her face. " No way...No way...not Fluttershy...No..No..NO!" chanted Rainbow as she landed outside the hospital and raced inside. Big Macintosh reacted instantly tackling Rainbow to the floor before she could make to the emergency room doors. " Rainbow Dash You can't go in there." he announced with fear in his voice. Rainbow struggled against his grip " Let Me GO!... SHE CAN'T BE!...IT'S NOT...TRUE!" The cyan pegasus wildly struggled face down on the floor against his grip before he turned her over to face him. " Rainbow Da..." He felt her kick him in stomach with her freed hind legs. The pain was intense but he was determined to hold her until she could calm down. " R-R-Rainbow...D-Dash stop your going...to hurt yourself...Please...calm down." the kick was stronger than he believed and had knocked most of the air from his lungs as he found himself starting struggle to talk. " I said let me go! Big Mac!" she gave another kick this time it had connected with one of the stallion hind legs. Big Macintosh slumped a little from the jolting blow to his leg but held his grip on her forelegs. The cyan pegasus screamed at the red stallion before a nurse from the nearby front desk quickly trotted over and gave the screaming pegasus a sharp slap across the face. Rainbow stopped screaming at the shock of being struck " Miss you disturb the patients again and I will have you escorted out of this building! Understood? " the nurse said with a commanding tone. Rainbow Dash look up at the pony who just slapped her in silence to see the nurse standing there with bewilder at what she had just done. After a few silent moments Big Macintosh spoke up " Rainbow just calm down and keep it down so you can stay here for Fluttershy." The cyan pegasus began to lightly struggle against him but more controlled this time. Her strength quickly left her as fearful thought took over her mind that she would not be allow to stay or come back to visit Fluttershy in the hospital and this notion impaired her anger from continuing. " L-L-Let m-me...go..." Rainbow Dash pleaded in a whisper. The nurse walked back to her desk giving the two ponies an apologetic glance before sitting down in the lingering silent at followed the unexpected action and verb warning. After a few more weakly strains against Big Mac, Rainbow gave up the struggle and let her body go limp. Big Mac slowly released his grip on her forelegs and helped her up off the floor as she started weeping. He wrapped his forelegs around her neck in a hug trying to reassure her that everything would to be alright even as his own mind struggled to accept that idea. Big Mac stood there hugging her and try his best to keep from showing his doubt while holding blue pegasus pony as they waited for their friends to arrive. Twilight finally spoke up " Girls we need to get go to the hospital..." the tears on her cheeks drying up.The others slowly nodded their heads and galloped toward town as they all fought back their fears. In town several ponies approached the group of friends and tried to ask what had happened but the friends continued galloping on only stating to the other ponies " There was an accident..." after a long fearful filled journey they arrived at the hospital, upon entering the building they see Big Macintosh hugging a crying Rainbow Dash. The group of ponies rush over to them and huddle together as Applejack and Big Macintosh calm down enough to explain to the others what had happened at Sweet Apple Acres. " We were just finishing up apple bucking and Big Macintosh was coming back up the hill with the cart when we heard the shafts of the cart break. We tried to catch the cart but it was picking up speed and we couldn't reach it in time. I saw Fluttershy in the carts path and yell at her to move but she didn't have time..." Applejack paused fighting back tears again. Anger started to overwhelm Rainbow Dash when she heard her friend explaining what had happened and when A.J. paused Rainbow grabbed her slamming the orange mare to the floor. " You could have stop that cart. I know you're fast enough. So why didn't you...stop...the...cart...?" Rainbow trailed off as her mind formed possible images of the accident and it's aftermath. The lavender unicorn reached down and place a hoof on Rainbow's shoulder " Rainbow they will help her don't worry, they are the best doctors in Pon..." Twilight was suddenly cut off when she's knocked down by a shove from Rainbow Dash. " Twilight I don't want to hear it!" as Rainbow stood up " You could have..." she stated looking down at A.J. " I should have..." she finish before flying out through the lobby doors. Twilight got back up and started chase after Dash when a foreleg grabbed her from behind. She looked and saw Applejack holding her back " Twi, she just need some time...to sort things out." Applejack says hold on to the lavender unicorn. " But...SHE NEEDS US!" Twilight screamed out. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 The hours slowly passed before the doctor walked out to the group of huddling ponies " Everypony, Fluttershy has suffered some major injuries to her wings and to her left hind leg." as doctor spoke the tension thicken in the air " She is in stable condition and recovering from the surgeries. Your friend is recovering in the intensive care ward. She did not suffer any internal injuries, or any major spinal injuries but she may never be capable of flight again. Some of the bones in her wings were broken but thankfully we were able to repair some torn blood vessels and muscles, so we did not have to amputate them." All the friends let out small sighs of relief from hearing that her wings were saved from being amputated. " We did the best we could to repaired the damaged muscle tissue and skin but she will feel a constant pain from her wings even after they all completely heal. Pegasus wings are sensitive to touch and other stimuli which helps them with their jobs concerning the weather but the nerves will be overly sensitive within the scar tissue." The groups relief was suddenly crush with this news of how Fluttershy would suffer pain even after surviving this terrible accident, possibly for rest of her life. " We will give her pain medication for that along with a ointment that will help numb her wings after she recovers. Her back leg was broken in three places but that leg should be healed in a month or two. From the injuries I saw on her it looked as if she was trying to fly away when she was injured, I think that action saved her life when the wings took most of the impact but she would have not made it if you ponies had not reacted so fast after the accident. She is lucky to have friends like you all." " When can we see her doctor?" Twilight asked with a feeling of relief and concern washing over her. " It will be at least over night of observing her in the intensive care ward, before we will move her to a private room. Even then she still maybe too weak from the blood lost and her injuries to have visitors. We will let you know when she can have visitors." the doctor said before turning to walk back into the emergency room. " Thank you doctor, Girls I think we should go on home and prepare to visit her tomorrow. We need be strong for her and be ready to comfort her when the time comes." Twilight said trying to be strong for the rest of the group. All of the friends looked at her and nodded their heads. Applejack began to speak with her best attempt to be calm " Well me and Big Mac are gonna head home now. I am so sorry girls...." as her face show the guilt feeling that had been building up inside her. "E..e..yup" Big Macintosh added before hanging his head and looking away from the others. Applejack and Big Mac slowly turned from the others and walked out the door of the hospital lobby in silence. Rarity turned to Twilight " Darling I am going to return home too. I need to finish that order..." before losing herself in thought about all that had happened and what the future held for Fluttershy. Twilight watched for a few moments before speaking to her " Rarity? Are you going to be alright?..." The white unicorn shook her head the replied with a somber tone " I am not sure." before turning for the door and walking out of the lobby with distracted expression. Twilight looks over at the pink pony left standing beside her " Pinkie are you going to be okay?" she asked concerned over her friends despaired look. " I...I...am...not..." Pinkie mumbles with a disconcerted look and dashes out through the lobby doors. As Twilight heads out of the hospital and towards the library, she looks back at the hospital one last time with single tear rolling her cheek. " Be strong, Twilight. For Fluttershy and our friends." she whispers before taking a deep breath and suppressing sorrow so she concentrate on her task of finding a way to help friend. Rainbow Dash lands at the door to Fluttershy's cottage and  pauses for a moment before she opens the door. She looks inside hoping this was all a bad dream and that her friend would greet her any minute with a soft hello. The greeting she had hoped for never comes and just an eerie silence is heard as she just stands there in the doorway for a few minutes. Finally she walks in just a few steps and begins to mumble to herself " I am suppose to be...Ponyvilles ...HERO!!!! I wasn't there... some HERO...I am." The cyan pegasus slowly trotted through the living room and then up stairs to Fluttershy's bed room door. " This should NEVER have happened..." opening the door she walked into the room " I have been her closest friend since flight school..." looking at the picture on the wall nearby she walks over and takes it down holding it against her chest. Rainbow Dash gazes down at the picture of her and Fluttershy sitting on a cloud with her foreleg wrapped around neck in a playful manner and ruffling Fluttershy's mane with a hoof. " I saved ponies before and never knew most of them and my closest fillyhood friend....I couldn't even be there to help her." the pegasus walked over to her friend's bed and set the picture gently down on the bed. " I...I...I...FAILED HER!" the cyan pegasus scream as smash her hoof against the floor cracking a board in the floor before running over and grabbing a photo off a shelf of just herself. " I...HATE...YOU!" she roared she threw it to the wooden floor watching the glass over the picture shatter then pounding her hoof upon the picture over and over until the picture began to turn red from her blood. She froze when the picture could not be seen for the blood covering it and the pain cuts on the bottom of her hoof was numbed by the pain she felt as the cold paralyzing thought of her friend might be dead gripped her heart and mind. She silently walked back to the bed and climb on it taking hold of the picture laying there with her unbloodied hoof bring it next to her face. " Fl-Flutter...s-shy...I-I'm...SORRY!" Rainbow dash collapsed onto the bed with the picture and began crying uncontrollably. Soon her crying grew loud enough to scare the small creatures in the room that were hiding from unexpected visitor. After a few hours Rainbow Dash's crying gradually soften until finally there was silence as she fell asleep. Angel had watched the distressed pegasus with an uneasy feeling listening to her talk to herself and when the she went up stairs out of sight. He walked over to the open front door and quietly closed it before hearing the shattering of glass coming from up stairs. The nervous rabbit cautiously approach the stairs and began walking up to the room with the crying cyan pegasus slowly hopping up to the side of the bed. The white rabbit look around and notices the shattered glass, blood, and knew crying pony had been injured then the rabbit quickly hopped out the room and back downstairs. Angel races over to a end table next to the couch and pulls a the drawer then grabs some gauze, tape, before rushing back up to Fluttershy's room. The rabbit rushed and jump onto the bed then carefully began bandaging the hoof of the pegasus after finishing his task he notices the picture the pony was clutching on to for dear life. He slow lifted a paw to it edge of it and gently pulled at it until seeing it was of Fluttershy and this pony laying before him. He lays down beside the sleeping pony and closes his eyes to fall asleep but soon feels something wrap around him and pulling on him. He opened his eyes to find the bandaged hoof and leg of the cyan pegasus around him while being right next to pegasus laying there. Angel began to weeping almost knowingly something bad had happened to Fluttershy. The long walk back to the farm was almost unbearable for Applejack and Big Macintosh. They walked together in silence after leaving the hospital and just as they got to the outer part of the farm they both looked back to where the terrible event happened earlier that day and stopped walking for a moment. It was almost as if they were both thinking what could have they done different to save their friend. As they began walking together again their thoughts were in disarray when Big Mac finally broke the silence saying "Umm...AJ..." Applejack interrupts him by quickly saying " It's alright...we'll talk about....it tomorrow..." as she tried to be calm but inside her head she screaming. They continued walking in silence, when they finally got home both of them walked to their rooms with their heads hung low. As Applejack shut the door to her room, Big Macintosh could hear his sister start crying. Big Mac's eyes begin to well up with tears again as he entered his room and closed the door behind him. Applejack ran over and laid down on her bed burying her head in the pillow there. She screamed into the pillow letting out all the pain she had kept locked inside from the days event. After releasing all of her pent up emotions into her pillow she thought to herself  Rainbow was right!...I was fast enough to catch that cart!...It's my fault!...I could have stopped it!...It's my fault...my fault... reaching up she grabbed her hat and threw it across the room. She pounded the bed with a hoof as her eyes began to sting from the flow of tears, soon her body felt heavy as the crushing guilty feeling  washed over her. Applejack closed her blood shot, tear stained eyes as part of her disheveled mane fell in front of her face How can any of her friends forgive me for causing this? she cried out in her mind. She laid her head down on the pillow and pulled her blood stained hooves in front of her face her suddenly she realized that Fluttershy's blood on her hooves was no longer crimson it had turned into a deep dark brown color from the dirt that had clung to the blood. The sight made Applejack sick, She leaned over the edge of the bed and vomited a few times before getting to her hooves then going to the bathroom. Applejack turned on the hot water to the shower in her tub and stepped inside then began to furiously scrub her hooves to remove that nauseating reminder of today. After half an hour scrubbing and crying, she could still see the light brownish tint on her fur and hooves " It...won't...come...off..." she muttered as the hot water flowed over her body and down her face mixing with her tears. The orange mare laid down in the tub and grabbed her hind legs pulling them against her chest in the fetal position shaking like a little filly. Big Macintosh listened to his sister crying in the next room as he walked over to his bed and laid down. His eyes still watering up from the images burning in his mind. I should've check that cart this morning. I am responsible for the equipment here on the farm I should've..... he suddenly realized that he could have prevented this accident.  It's my fault...my fault... ringing out in his head as lay there. He laid there on his bed as his vision blurred, muscles ached, and his mind went numb from the guilt he was feeling. Everything else he forgot like the sweat that had dried on his coat from his run to find help, his yolk that he normally removed from his neck still on causing him discomfort but going unnoticed by his mind, his mane was ruffled and a tangled mess from everything that happened today. He stared at ceiling of his room lost in his mind and dead to rest of the world as mentality beat himself into unconscious. As Rarity finally reached her boutique she starts trying to remember the dress design she had been working on before today's horrible event had occurred. She opens the door to her shop Come on Rarity, you have to finish that order she thought to herself. Closing the door behind her as she entered. " Okay I think this fabric is just perfect for this dress." as she looked at the floating roll of material coming from shelf in front of her. She takes the fabric to her sewing machine and gets started sewing on the partial dress she had left there. Her vision starts becoming blurred as she worked on the dress " My hoof keeps shaking..." she said trying to place the needle into perfect position to start sewing on the delicate lining of the dress. She didn't even notice that she tried to sew without magic as her mind race between her work and Fluttershy. She sets the needle down on the desk next to the sewing machine then wipes her eyes. " That's...okay...I will just finish placing the gems on that dress over there." she said to herself with false confidence. Rarity tried to levitate the gems over to the dress but she couldn't concentrate clear enough to place them into the proper spots " Oh...Rarity...You can do better." she tried again but after seeing the terrible placement of the gems " How can I be working on this when my best friend is laying in the hospital in such a terrible condition!" she scream at herself as she flung the gems at the wall with enough force to buried them into the plaster. " I am a horrible, terrible friend for trying to work...I-I can't do this right now." Rarity could not hold it in anymore as ran over,  laid down on her bed, and levitated a picture from night stand next to her bed over to her. She took in her hooves and stare at the image of Fluttershy and her in room wearing their gala dresses then gently place beside her head, she pulled a pillow against her chest and held it close wishing she could be holding her friend now as she gazed at the photo with a tear falling from her eye. Soon Pinkie Pie made it back to Sugar Cube Corner and as she slowly trudged through door causing the bell about the door to ring out and a mature blue mare with pink mane stepped out from the kitchen." Pinkie are you alright?" Mrs. Cake called out to the pink mare she saw moving toward the stairs. Pinkie stops and looks at her " I-I-I'm...O-Okay...M-Mrs.Cake" she said with the smallest of fake smile that Mrs.Cake had ever seen. Mrs. Cake rushed over to the distressed pink pony and wrapped her hooves around her in a hug. Pinkie's body started shaking against her as she held on tight to her little baking helper. " Pinkie its alright to let out your emotions from today, please don't bottle them up inside or hide them from me. I won't let you go until I know that you are letting out these feelings you are hold back." she said with a comforting motherly tone and giving a squeeze. Pinkie Pie looked up at the motherly blue mare with tears streaming down her cheeks before laying her head against Mrs. Cake's shoulder and crying into blue fur. Mrs. Cake sit down on her haunches and patted the crying mares back causing the pink pony sit down with her. Mrs.Cake just kept rubbing Pinkie back and say " Shhh...It will be alright my little pie." After a hour Pinkie Pie lifted her head from the blue mare's shoulder and sniffled " T-Thank...Y-Y-You...Mrs.Cake." she stammered  while giving her weak but truthful smile. " I am sure she will be alright, Pinkie Pie." Mrs. Cake said as she held Pinkie close and trying to comfort the shaking pink pony looking back at her " Let me help you upstairs to your room." Pinkie could only nod her head and struggle to her hooves then they slowly made their way up the stairs and into the pink pony's room. " Pinkie I saw the cart carrying Fluttershy and doctor pass by earlier today. Believe me your friend will be okay." Mrs.Cake said in her soothing tone as Pinkie look up at her " I promise okay." Pinkie asked Mrs. Cake as they reached her bed " You pinkie promise?" wiping away the lingering tears from her eyes and climbing into bed. " Cross my heart, Hope to fly, Stick a cupcake in my eye." Mrs. Cake said while placing a hoof over one eye. " Now you get some rest and you'll see everything will better tomorrow." she continued while tucking the pink pony into bed and kissing her forehead. She then walked over to door " Good night Pinkie." She said turning off the light. Pinkie laid there with small smile on her face knowing no one can break a Pinkie promise. That evening as Twilight approached the door to the library, her mind was racing with thoughts Should I tell Spike now or wait? Then she had idea I could look for a spell or some kind of healing treatment for her. She opened the door hoping that Spike was already asleep so she didn't have to tell him the terrible news and have his crying or constant questioning interrupt her search for a solution. She look around the room and let out a sigh when she found the room to be empty  I will be sure to tell him tomorrow. she thought to herself as she door closed behind her. Her horn continued to glow with magic as she pulled book after book looking at their titles for any sign at it could be the book to help her friend. It seemed like hours had passed since she had started her search and as she looked at the last book cover she lowered her head. " None of these books had what I was looking for." she whispered to herself. Then in a moment of pure clarity she thought Canterlot Library! She had forgotten that she could use the books and scrolls from there. I will write a message to Princess Celestia... She caught herself forgetting another important option  Maybe the princess could use her magic or maybe she will  know some healing magic I could use to help Fluttershy. She quickly found a empty scroll, quill, and her ink well, then started writing the letter to the princess. Dear Princess Celestia, A terrible accident has happened today to my friend Fluttershy. Please princess I need your help in finding a way to heal her injuries or maybe you could help her. I am so worried about her, the doctor said that wings would never be capable of flight again and that she might suffer long term pain in their present state and in the future. I just feel so helpless right now that I can't find away to help her from the books here in the library. So please princess find me a way to help her. The lavender unicorn started up stairs looking for little dragon when it hit her  I will have to wake up Spike! He will surely ask about the letter. What will I tell him? You have to do this Twilight. Maybe he won't ask. He will be sleepy and I will just have him send it then tell him to go back to bed. she thought to herself as reached the top of the stairs and found the little dragon asleep in his bed. She could hear him lightly snoring under his blanket and gave him a slight nudge to wake him. He continued to sleep and she kept nudging him harder until he began stir. " Uh...Twilight" yawning as he wiped the sleep for his eyes. " Spike please send this letter for me." Twilight said as she wore fake smile. " Can't this wait until morning? Spike asked with small bit anger in this voice. " Sorry but I forgot to send this letter to the princess about my assignment." She said with a urgent tone. Spike remembered how she reacted when she was late on her assignments and gave in " Okay..." as he open his mouth and a green flame burst forth burning scroll " There its on the way to the princess..." laying back onto his small bed and covering up his head with his blanket " She tells me that I'm a baby dragon need my sleep but wakes me up in the middle of the night." he mutters in a low whisper still irritated by the interruption of his sleep. " Thank you Spike you can go back sleep now." she said with more cheerful tone. Twilight went over to her bed laid down waiting for the reply from the princess. A few minutes passed by when green flames came out of the mouth of the sleeping dragon which only caused him to roll over in his bed. Twilight's horn glow as she lifted the scroll in front of her and began to read My most faithful student, This is terrible news, but you need to get some rest. I will personally look in the library here for some way to help Fluttershy. Also please keep me informed of her condition and soon as I find a way for you to help her, I will personally come to Ponyville with the information. Until I arrive there please be sure to help your other friends through this troubling time. Your Mentor, Princess Celestia As Twilight finishes the letter she starts feeling some sense of relief knowing that the princess was personally handling this problem. " I should get some sleep, maybe the doctor will let me visit Fluttershy tomorrow." she whispered to herself then laid back on her bed and slowly fell asleep with the comforting thought The Princess will able to find the magic needed to heal Fluttershy. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 The morning sun shined through the windows of the library, the light hitting Spike in the face causing him roll over in bed and peek out at the small clock beside him. His eyes shot open " 10:30 I over slept. I am sorry Twilight!" he said jumping from the bed looking around to find the lavender unicorn still asleep in bed. " I better wake her up and maybe I can lecture her for this." he chuckled to himself. " Wake up, Twilight, Wake up you over slept." said Spike while nudging her. She rolled over and wiped the sleep from her eyes " Spike... what time is it?" Spike giggles " It's 10:32 Twilight, I thought you never liked sleeping in late. Since you have that assignment from the princess....." " Spike is Princess Celestia here ALREADY!!!!" Twilight exclaimed as she jumped from her bed and falling on her face with thud. " Ouch...that hurt." she said looking at the covers still clinging to legs. " But Twilight the princess isn't here." Spike said with a confused look on his face. The covers glowed with her magic as she remove them from her legs " Spike I thought you said..." pausing only to remember that she didn't tell Spike about Fluttershy or the letter, " Oh, never mind..." Twilight let out sigh, stood up, and readied her self " Spike we need to talk." " W..what do you want to talk about? If it's about letting you over sleep, I am sorry but I woke up only a few minutes before you and I...." Spike said nervously before being interrupted with the unicorn placing a hoof over his mouth. " No Spike...it's something else..." Twilight said with somber tone " Please come down stairs with me." The little dragon follow at her side down the stairs with fear building up in inside him. He thought to himself Did I do something wrong? Was she mad about me not clean the library last night? more questions raced through his mind as they walked down the stairs. Upon reaching the main floor of the library she turned and wrapped her forelegs around the little dragon beside her. " Twilight?" he asked with confusion in voice and concern in his eyes. The lavender unicorn looked down at her assistant with guilty look " It's about...." suddenly knocking at the front door interrupts her. She and Spike look to the front door as Rarity and Pinkie walk inside. " Rarity, Pinkie Pie....." Spike said before noticing the dejected faces of the two ponies " What's wrong?" he asked them before looking back up at Twilight and asking her " What's going on with every pony today?" Rarity and Pinkie rushed to Twilight side while she continued hugging Spike " Some pony please tell what's happening?" Spike asked with fear rising in his voice. " Spike...." Twilight started as she stepped back from the group. " Fluttershy was in an accident...she was injured badly..." she said while fighting back her urge to hide her face out of guilt for not telling him last night. Spike face was in shock as his eyes went wide " Is she alright? Where is Fluttershy? Why are we here and not with her? When did this happen? WHY DIDN'T SOME PONY TELL ME?" Spike demanded with confusion at why the others were not with her and that he was just being told now. Rarity and Pinkie hugged Spike closer " Spike...she is at Ponyville hospital and the doctor says she is still too weak... to have visitors." Rarity said and both ponies squeezed the little purple dragon tighter between them. " Rarity, Pinkie...I wrote to the princess and she said that she would personally look for a way to help heal Fluttershy..." the lavender unicorn gave the others a reassuring smile " And the princess said she would bring the information herself." Twilight said while thinking back to the princess' letter. Rarity and Pinkie Pie look at her with a feeling of relief while smiling back at Twilight. Pinkie bounced from the hug " The princess will find away to help Fluttershy...then we can throw a big party...for Fluttershy." the pink pony said giving a wide smile noting that Mrs.Cake was right about her promise and her hair returned to its puffy, bouncy style. Twilight's eyes widen when she finally caught onto Rarity saying that she was still too weak for visitors. " Rarity did you already try to visit Fluttershy today?" " Yes darling, but the doctor said she was still too weak to have visitors." Rarity spoke while lowering her head. Twilight thought about her other friends and asked " Have you two seen Applejack or Rainbow Dash yet?" Rarity and Pinkie Pie just shook their heads. " We need to find them. They might be hurting more than us and we need to help each other though this and be strong for Fluttershy." Twilight stated as some of her confidence returned. Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and Spike nod with a small smile they fought to display for Twilight. " Girls, Let's go find Applejack and Rainbow Dash. So we can give them all the support we can." Twilight announced as she stood at the front door. Rarity and Pinkie walk out the door past Twilight but the little dragon just stood there looking at her. " Spike you coming with us?" Twilight asked. " Is alright if I go the the hospital instead?" Spike asked with an eager look. " Yes Spike.... please let us know if the doctor says we can visit her." Twilight replied being almost knocked down by Spike as he ran out the door. Twilight finished closing the door and look at two ponies waiting there " Let go girls, We will head over to Sweet Apple Acres first and check on Applejack and Big Macintosh." Rarity and Pinkie just nodded in agreement with Twilight as they trotted off toward farm. As the girls approached Applejack's barn, they hear Applejack and Big Macintosh yelling at each other. They opened the barn door just in time to hear " If you'd check the apple carts for damage. This would have never happened." Applejack standing there with her face only inches away from her brother glaring at him. " Well if you weren't always in a hurry to buck all the apples in the orchard, then it wouldn't have happen." Big Macintosh insisted as he pushed his chest against Applejack. " APPLEJACK, BIG MACINTOSH!!!!" Twilight yelled as she separated them with her magic. " What would Fluttershy think if she saw you two right now?" Applejack and Big Macintosh hung their heads in disappointment at the thought of Fluttershy seeing them like that. " You two should be ashamed, Fluttershy would ... never blame you two for...." Twilight starts seething in anger at her friends behavior and stomped a hoof on the ground while glaring at them like a mother would at two foals fighting each other. " Sorry Twi, we just felt so bad that we caused the accident." Applejack finished then lowered her head in shame. Big Macintosh responded " E...eyup" mirroring his sister's actions. Applejack goes over to Big Macintosh and hugs him " Sorry big brother, I didn't mean to....." before being cut off by her brother. " I know little sis...." Big Macintosh returning the hug. Twilight, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie join in hugging them both trying to reassure them that it was not there fault. Applejack looking at friends suddenly took notice that Rainbow Dash was missing. " Where's Rainbow Dash?" Applejack asked regaining some of her composure. " We haven't seen her today." Twilight answered as the girls look to Applejack. " We have to find her, She'll need our help her get through this so let's go find her." Applejack said with concerned look. " You coming with us big brother?" she looked back to him for his answer. " N..nope. I think I'm gonna head to the hospital." Big Macintosh managed to say while fighting the urge to run right away. The girls look at him knowing he cared about Fluttershy a lot and maybe more than them. Twilight smiled at the stallion and thought it would be a good idea for him to go there not only for himself but Spike could use a brotherly figure there for support. " Spike is there too. Big Macintosh please keep an eye on him. We told him about Fluttershy this morning and he was really upset." Twilight said with a lot of concern in her voice. Big Mac nodded his head " Sure thing, Twilight." and ran out of the barn and off towards Ponyville. " Let's get moving girls." Twilight urged looking back to her friends. The others nodded in agreement as they start off toward Rainbow's cloud home. Soon the friends arrived below the cloud home of Rainbow Dash. The girls looked up at cloud then Twilight shouted " RAINBOW DASH ARE YOU THERE? WE NEED TO TALK TO YOU." but they heard no reply from above. The lavender unicorn shouted again " DASH PLEASE TALK TO US." still no answer from the home. " What if she's ain't home?" Applejack asked with slight desperation in her voice. " What if Rainbow Dash is in her house but she doesn't want to answer us?" Rarity promptly argued back. Applejack and Rarity looked to Pinkie to see if she a thought on the problem but the pink earth pony was just staring up to the cloud above them with a focus never seen from the pony before. Then they turned to Twilight who was thinking out loud " We could find a pegasus in town to help. No no that could take to long and... maybe put that pony in danger if Dash is angry. Maybe we could..." as talking trailed of to silence again while continually rubbing her head with a hoof.  The ponies stood there thinking about ways they could check cloud for their blue pegasus friend. Minutes past by before Pinkie's face lit up as idea popped into her head like a party cannon had gone off in her mind and she jumped over to the lavender unicorn tackling her to the ground with an desperate look in her eyes. " Twilight use your magic to lift me up there to look in the windows." Pinkie remarked with an wanting look on her face. Applejack and Rarity stared at the each other with a shocked look on their faces. Their pink friends idea was just so simple unlike most of her normal ideas which consisted of complicated plans to complete simple tasks. Rarity regained her composure and look at the pink pony on top of Twilight and spoke up " It's are only option, darling." trying to be confident that the plan would work. " I have to agree with Rarity on this one, sugar cube." Applejack said looking at the Twilight in agreement. " But I don't think I can lift Pinkie that high. What if my magic gives out? Pinkie could seriously get hurt." Twilight replied in fear while looking up to pink pony still standing above her. " Please Twilight, we have to try..." Pinkie urged as she move face to face with the lavender unicorn " You levitated a Ursa Minor so lifting me should be easy peasy." Twilight finally gave in to all of the girls hopeful looks " Applejack, Rarity get under Pinkie when I lift her so you will be able to catch her if my magic gives out." Pinkie Pie quickly scooped up the the lavender unicorn hugging her with all her strength and making her instantly exhale all the air in her lungs from the crushing embrace. " I know you can do Twilight. You are the best in all of Ponyville with magic." she said before noticing her hug had made Twilight a deeper shade of purple from lack of oxygen " Oops...Sorry." she finished as she released the dark purple unicorn. Twilight gasped as her lungs refill with the precious air her lungs were craving and then between secondary gasps said " It's...Okay...Pinkie..." It took her a minute to full recover from the pink pony's chest crushing hug. Pinkie was standing in between  Applejack and Rarity when the lavender unicorn looked to her friends. " Ready! and waiting Twi." Applejack stated with confidence then followed by Rarity " Yes, We are prepared now." " Okay.... Pinkie... here we go." Twilight fearfully choked out as her horn began to glow. Pinkie began to glow with Twilight's magic and slowly started rising off the ground. As the pink pony raised higher into the sky with desperate and determined face looking up at the cloud above, Twilight began to sweat and dig her hooves into the ground  for better support. Applejack and Rarity kept glancing between the sweating lavender unicorn and pink pony float up above them. As higher and higher Pinkie rose until she was at the opening for the first floor window of the cloud home. Pinkie Pie looked through the window into the room eagerly scanning for any sign for Rainbow Dash but she could not find her friend anywhere inside. She yelled back down to the others " She's not in this room. Higher...Twilight, I need to look in her bedroom." Back on the ground Applejack and Rarity look at Twilight " Come on Twilight, just a little bit more." they cheered. Twilight strained with all her strength to raise Pinkie higher. Pinkie slowly began to get closer to the second floor window. Her head finally made just above the window ledge " I can see in the window now." she yelled down to the others. She quickly scanned the room before yelling again " She not here either." Pinkie cried out " Ahhhh..." as she suddenly fell a few feet in the air before being slowed down by Twilight's magic. As Pinkie descended she noticed that the ground was coming up to her faster than she was comfortable with " Applejack! Rarity! catch me!" Just a few feet above Applejack and Rarity, Twilight's magic gives out finally causing Pinkie to fall with a thud on top of the other two ponies. " Sorry....girls...." Twilight said straining to stand and covered in sweat from the demanding amount of magic she had used but quickly collapsing to the ground from exhaustion. The girls got up from the ground and rushed to the side of exhausted unicorn. " You okay Twilight?" Applejack asked trying to help Twilight up. " What do we do now?" Rarity asked as she also helped Twilight to her hooves. " She's not there. We have to find her." Pinkie quickly demanded as she stomped her front hooves. " Calm down Pinkie Pie" Applejack replied in a firm tone " I'm sure we'll find her." Twilight began to stammer out " Well...if she isn't...home or...at our houses...then where...could she...have gone to?" The three ponies started to get concern about Rainbow Dash and started thinking where else she might have went after leaving the hospital yesterday. " I do not think she would fly all the way back to Cloudsdale and leave Fluttershy here." Rarity stated with confidence. " Well maybe she went back to the hospital this morning." Applejack said knowing the bond between the two pegasi. " Nope... Me and Rarity have already been there this morning when we checked to see if we could visit Fluttershy." Pinkie replied with sullen tone and her hair losing some of its poofyness at her own answer. They thought about other places Dash might have went but ignored them for various reason in their heads. The silence went on for several minutes before Applejack said " There a good chance she might be at Fluttershy's home. Those two have been close ever since they came to town." " Put Twilight on my back..." Applejack commanded as Twilight looked like the she was going to pass out any minute. Rarity and Pinkie Pie lifted the drained lavender unicorn onto Applejack's back making her looking like an over sized lavender saddle bag on the orange pony. " Let's get moving! We need to hurry to Fluttershy's house." The ponies gave each other a quick glance before they rushed off towards the little cottage of their friend with the knowledge that they might find Rainbow Dash there. Rainbow Dash cracked open one eye to find the sun shining through the window and something brushing against her side making her irritated that something brought her back to this world. She opened her sore eyes and laid there looking at the picture beside her head on the pillow momentarily forgetting the reason for her being awake . I always looked out for her ever since the day we met in flight school. I did my best to watch out for her and protect her from harm. I failed her. I was a hero that couldn't even save her best friend from an stupid accident. she mentality punished herself before she felt a soft warm fur rubbing against her side. If one of those stupid animals woke me up I am going... Dash thought with her anger boiling up and about to explode. She snapped her head and looked at the source of the warmth I am going to pound whatever animal... and spotted the little white rabbit being held against the side of chest by her hoof that was now expertly wrapped in a white bandage. She suddenly felt horrible I-I-It's Angel...He must have...bandaged my hoof... her vision was becoming a blur A-Angel is so much like...Fluttershy. she thought wiping her eyes with wing so she wouldn't disturb the sleeping rabbit. Rainbow Dash gently remove her covered hoof from around the rabbit and slowly slid off the bed trying not to wake him then stepped back from the bed when she felt something crunch under hind leg. Her focus turn the sound of breaking glass under her hoof when she notices the broke picture frame, shattered glass, and blood soaked picture then events of last night flood back causing her to sit down against the side of the bed. She wished that she would have just kept sleeping forever and forget all about this life without out Fluttershy but It was true she was gone now. The pegasus covered her face with her hooves as tears trickled down her cheeks. After a hour silent weeping and trying to block out the painful images of the dead friend in her head before voices coming from outside the cottage grabbed her attention. She quickly recognized the familiar voice as her friends and rushed over to the bedroom door shut and lock it then set against the door for good measure. I don't want to talk to them and I defiantly don't want to be seen like this. She thought while listening to the voices outside and cursing the peaceful silent of the out way home. Outside the little cottage's front door, Twilight climbed off Applejack's back " Thank you for carrying me while I recovered from earlier." " Not a problem at all, Twi." Applejack replied as Pinkie Pie open the door to the cottage and hearing hoof steps then a door closing from up stairs. " Rainbow Dash must be here! I just heard hoof steps and a door close." announced Pinkie before galloping into the and rushing up stairs. Rarity, Applejack, and Twilight trotted inside looking for their Pinkie and Rainbow Dash but both were not in the living room of the home. " Pinkie... where did you go?...Rainbow Dash are you here? " asked the white unicorn with concern. " Come on Dash. Talk to us. We want to help ya." Applejack called out in a very concerned voice. Pinkie suddenly appear at the top of the stairs to the second floor " I think she is up here. Fluttershy's bedroom door is locked and I hear Dashie crying on the other side." she exclaimed as she kept glancing back to the door just behind her. The ponies galloped up the stair with their hearts racing  when they came to the door they could hear soft weeping just on the other side. Twilight lightly tapped on the door with her hoof. " Rainbow Dash...let us in please...we are here to help you through this." said the lavender unicorn giving a glance to Applejack, Rarity, and Pinkie. " Rainbow just open the door so we make sure you are alright. Then we can go check on Fluttershy." Rarity pleaded. " Fluttershy is dead! I don't deserve to..." cried the cyan pegasus before being cut off by Applejack. " Rainbow Dash! Fluttershy is alive and is recovering at the hospital. Ya would've known this if ya wouldn't just stormed out of the lobby like..." Applejack yelled as she heard a click from the door just before it flew open and she tackled down the stairs by a furious pegasus. The two ponies tumbled down the stairs until the pair landed at the bottom with Rainbow Dash standing over the orange pony. Dash glared down at the farm pony with a burning rage in her eyes. " You call yourself the element of honesty! When you just lied to one of your friends about Fluttershy..." the rage in her eyes disappearing while being replaced with mix of happiness and guilt " being...alive..." her words trailed off as she saw Applejack laying there with a loving smile across her muzzle and a single tear in the corner of her eyes as she gave a slow nod of her head. " I-I'm...s-sorry...A.J...I..." Dash sobbed as she collapsed on top of the orange mare. " It's okay Dash, let it all out." Applejack spoke softly causing Rainbow Dash's emotional dam to burst. She's alive...She' alive... Rainbow Dash cheered in her mind with a sense of relief washing over her. The pegasus started to cry uncontrollably as Applejack gently rubbed the back of her crying friend with a hoof. " It's alright Fluttershy is alive and at the hospital. So why don't we go see if she can have a visit from her friends." Applejack said soothingly as she stopped rubbing the pegasus' back and lightly raised dash's chin with her hoof while wiping away the tears running down the pegasus cheeks with her other hoof. Rainbow Dash sniffled and nodded her head as Rarity, Twilight, Pinkie came trotting down stairs. Rarity and Twilight helped the pegasus to her hooves then Pinkie hugged her while Applejack got to her hooves. " Rainbow Dash, let's all go to check on Fluttershy." Twilight said with a warm smile at her friends. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4 Fluttershy slowly opened her eyes to see a white ceiling above her and the sound of something beeping. She gradually turned head to find source of the sound, finding a beeping heart monitor next to her bed, and then seeing a figure standing next to it. The nurse finish checking the vital stats on the screen of the monitor and look over to check on the yellow pegasus when she noticed pegasus staring bewildered at her. The shocked nurse ran to the door and called out down the hall urgently " Doctor, doctor, she's awake!" A minute later the doctor hurried into the room and magicked out a small flashlight from the side pocket of his lab coat to check her eyes for any signs of additional trauma. The sudden brightness stung her eye as he examined iris reacting to the light. " Ms. Fluttershy do you know where you are?" he asked as switched to other eye for the same examination. Fluttershy answered with light head shake. " You are in Ponyville hospital. you were in an accident." the doctor continued while listening to her breathing with his stethoscope "  Ms. Fluttershy do have any numbness in your forelegs or hind legs?" the yellow pegasus again only gave a light shake of her head " Any double vision?" " Umm...N-No..." She replied in a dry and raspy voice " M-May I..." " Nurse, please bring her some water." the doctor said then resume his examination " Please use your hoof to touch my hoof and then back to touch your nose." he said holding his hoof out in front of her " Good I see no head trauma." and then looked to the nurse standing on the other side of her " Nurse please inform her friends in the lobby that she can have visitors in a few minutes." The nurse gave the pegasus the glass of water she had got for her. " Yes, doctor." the nurse replied cheerfully before rushing out of the room. The doctor looked back to the yellow pegasus and waited until she had drank down the water before taking the empty glass from her then set it on the small table at the side of her bed. " Fluttershy  your wings and left hind leg are injured." the doctor stated mildly worried about how she would react " your leg will be fine in a month or two but...." Fluttershy quickly looked down to her sides and saw the misshaped wings bandaged up on either side, her eyes widen. " I am sorry they may never be capable of flight again." the doctor said with a somber tone. In the hospital lobby, Spike was still worrying with Big Macintosh patting his back trying to comfort him. When a nurse burst through a set of doors up to Big Macintosh " The doctor said she would be able to have visitor soon!" Spike and Big Mac's eyes lit up with joy. " We have to find Twilight and the other fast." Spike said bouncing up and down uncontrollably. " Eeeyup!!" Big Macintosh exclaimed before they both rushed of the lobby. As Big Macintosh and Spike ran into the center of town, Spike suddenly stopped " Um... Big Mac where do we look for them?" Big Macintosh sliding to a stopped a few feet ahead of the little purple dragon " Ain't sure?" he answered. " Let's split up and ask around Ponyville. Some pony may have seen them." Spike remarked. " Eeyup." Big Mac said nodding his head. They rushed from pony to pony asking about the girls. Finding that most of the ponies had not seen them today. Spike was about to start panicking when he saw a hot pink pony with yellow mane coming into town toward him. He quickly ran to pony " Cherry Berry have you seen Twilight, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, or Applejack today?" Spike asked her. " Well yes I did they were heading toward Fluttershy cottage just about half an hour ago." Cherry Berry replied to the little dragon. " Oh thank you, Cherry Berry. " Spike called back to her as he ran to find Big Macintosh. Spike was running back to where he and Big Mac split up. He soon spots the red stallion talking a pony at a vegetable stand and called out to Big Macintosh " Hey Cherry Berry said she saw them heading towards Fluttershy's cottage!" Big Mac immediately rushed over picking up Spike and tossing him on his back in one swift motion, then running full gallop toward Fluttershy's house. Spike and Big Mac soon spotted the cottage and the girls coming out the front door. " Twilight, It's Fluttershy!" Spike calling out from behind the stallion's head. " Spike, Big Macintosh what's happened?" Twilight called back with fear creeping back in her voice. " The nurse said Fluttershy could have visitors soon." Spike announced overflowing with joy. The girls gave a quick glance at each other before sprinting at full speed towards Ponyville, passing by Big Macintosh and Spike in their need to get back to the hospital as fast as possible. Rainbow Dash zoomed ahead of the others with just a rainbow trail for the others to follow. When Twilight and the others finally rushed through the doors and into the hospital's lobby, a nurse was waiting motioning them through the next set of doors as she call out " Room Fourteen on the left." When all the ponies enter the room they see Rainbow Dash sitting beside the bed holding Fluttershy's hoof with tears streaming down her face and Fluttershy speaking softly with her. " It's okay...I will be alright." The others break down in tears of joy at the site of their friend and rush to the sides Fluttershy's bed. " I should have been there for you. It's my fault." Rainbow Dash cried out The ponies wiping their watery eyes as Fluttershy softly speaks " Rainbow please don't blame yourself for this, it's okay don't cry." as she wipes the tears from Rainbow's cheek. " No Rainbow it's not your fault. It's ours." Applejack answered followed up by Big Mac's " Eeyup." Fluttershy reaches out for them, Applejack and Big Mac leaned in letting her hug them and Fluttershy softly tells them " Applejack, Big Mac, it's not your fault either it was just an accident, Don't blame yourselves, Please." as she looks at them with her kind and knowing eyes. Applejack broke down crying as they lay their heads on the her shoulders while Big Macintosh simply wiped a single tear from his eye and let out a deep sigh. "Fluttershy , the princess is looking for anything that can heal your body and........... wings" Twilight and the others droop their heads as she finish the sentence. " It's okay girls the doctor explained to me about my wings." as Fluttershy looked at her bandaged and contorted wings. The ponies let out a gasp as they look back up to her and notice her injured wings for the first time, Applejack instantly starts crying harder than before followed by the others being stunned at the sight of her wings. " It's okay girls, I am glad to give up my wings to save that baby bunny. That is who I am so please don't feel bad." Fluttershy spoke softly as everypony stood there in shock. The hours pass by like minutes to the ponies in the room as they continued to talk about the princess, the things the doctor discussed with them, and how they felt after the accident before they realized the time as a nurse enter the room with a tray on her back. " Dinner time for Fluttershy." the nurse said motioning the others aside and placing the tray down on the bed with her mouth. " You ponies make sure she eats some of that food to help her regain some of her strength." she told them as she leaves the room and closing the door behind her. " Go on, sugar cube you need eat some of that food." Applejack stated looking the tray and being followed up by " Eeyup." from Big Macintosh. " Yes darling go ahead and eat don't mind us." Rarity added as she looked at her. " Fluttershy you really need to eat so your body can regain it's strength." Twilight remark looking at her too. Rainbow Dash leaned over and whispered in her ear " The food doesn't taste that good but that must mean it's good for you." Fluttershy giggled at Rainbow Dash's comment. " Don't worry Fluttershy tomorrow I'll bring you some cupcakes to eat for breakfast." Pinkie Pie announced bouncing next to her bed. Fluttershy took a bite of the steamed vegetables on plate in front of her. The bland flavor of the almost tasteless food made her wince and Rainbow leaned back to her whispered " See I told you." as she chuckled quietly beside her. Fluttershy swallowed the mouth full and started giggling again as Rainbow Dash laughed out loud with her. The others looked puzzled at the two ponies before Dash said " It's about the hospital food." while acting like she was gagging causing all the other ponies laugh along with them. Suddenly Twilight and the others hear the sound of a carriage landing outside and Twilight rushed over to window straining to see through in the darkness, just barely noticing the outline of the royal carriage. " Princess Celestia must be here now! I could see the royal carriage out there." she shouted to the other ponies before catching herself and lowering her voice. She headed to door and as she prepared to open it the knob glowed with a golden aura. Twilight watched the door open and her eyes widen in excitement as the princess greeted her. " Why hello my faithful student." Princess Celestia said looking down at her. " Hello your highness." Twilight replied while bowing to her along with rest of the ponies in the room. When she finished her bow and looked back up she spots Princess Luna just behind Celestia. " Oh Princess Luna you came here too?" She asked the dark blue alicorn. " Yes Twilight Sparkle I have accompanied my sister to help with this task." Luna answered as she stared at the lavender unicorn, then at the other standing in the room and then the yellow pegasus laying in the hospital bed. Twilight couldn't hold back her anticipation any longer and blurted out " Princess Celestia, Princess Luna please tell me you found a something to heal Fluttershy, please! please!" Twilight's voice full of desperation. The princess looked down at her with a smile and began to walk toward the bed Fluttershy is laying in " Twilight my dear student, we have found a spell in this book to mend her injuries but....."  Celestia pauses mid sentence looking back to her student with the book floating at her side and the smile disappearing from her face. " It takes a lot of magic and some ponies to endure the pain of the mending process for the pony receiving the healing." Luna finished the sentence for her sister. " Is that all?" Rainbow dash exclaimed flying up to the princess. " We can handle that princess." Applejack remarked in confident manner. Luna spoke in a angered tone at the ponies for being over zealous and careless with the power of the spell.  " This spell is dangerous, If you fail to complete it. The magic backlash could seriously injure the ponies preforming the spell." Celestia looked scornfully at her little sister causing the dark blue alicorn to lower her head in a guilt about her outbrust. " Twilight, you and your friends are the ones that have to decide to use this spell or not. The spell does have the risk of which Luna spoke so please use caution and wisdom when deciding your answer." Celestia's voice having a somber tone. " Luna and I will wait outside for your decision." Luna walked out of the room followed by Celestia while closing the door behind them. " Let's do it, I can take the pain." Rainbow Dash stated proudly puffing her chest out and returning to the side of the bed. " Hold on Rainbow Dash, What if we fail? We could injure Fluttershy or worst!!!" Applejack replied with fear and anger in her voice. Then Fluttershy softly spoke up " Oh girls, I can't let you do this. I would feel just terrible if you girls got hurt for me." " But your wings, darling." Rarity said jumping into the discussion. " It's Okay..." Fluttershy started to say before being cut off by Twilight " Girls, We need to talk this through before we can even think about if we should or shouldn't use the spell. It could impact all of us and we could be risking Fluttershy's life on this so calm down and lets talk this through." as Twilight spoke a serious tone. All the friends looked at her and went silent. " Now everypony share your thoughts and opinions on whether or not we should use the spell. One at a time...." She said softly this time " Fluttershy, You may go first since it effects you the most." The yellow pegasus lower her head began to quietly speak " I..I.. don't want you girls to get hurt for me. I would just feel terrible and..." trailing off into silence at the thought of her friends being hurt do the spell. Rainbow Dash sat down on the bed next to her and pulled crying pegasus close. " It's okay Fluttershy, I can handle taking the pain for you and I don't want you to worry. I have been injured before so at least this time it would be helping a friend and not from being reckless while flying." Dash said while gently wiping away the tear rolling down the yellow pegasus cheek. Fluttershy raised head and gave Dash a pleased look. " Now you wait right there Rainbow! You might be able to take it but what if the spell fails it could hurt Fluttershy even more than she now or even....you know." Applejack stated angrily while glaring at the rainbow maned pegasus for being so absent minded of Fluttershy's well being. " I know everypony feels like we must do this but I for one don't want to risk Fluttershy life on this." she finished. " I certainly want to help Fluttershy too but Applejack is right. I do not want chance her life on this spell. Sorry Twilight I know you are great with magic but thought of losing her should be enough for us to decide not to use it." Rarity spoke with a heartbroken expression on her face and a tear sliding down her cheek. " Pinkie do you want to tell us what you think?" Twilight asked looking to the pink pony. Pinkie Pie was sitting on her haunches and tapping a hoof to her chin as she stared at the floor. " Pinkie?...Pinkie?...Pinkie!" the lavender unicorn called out as the others turned to see unusual scene. " Well... Big Macintosh you can go next then." she continued still puzzle by Pinkie's deep thinking. The large stallion looked at his sister and nodded " I don't reckin we should try. I'm mighty sorry Fluttershy." said with a soul crushed look on his face and tears welling up in his eyes. " I think Rainbow Dash is right! I know Twilight can perform any spell. Especially when it's for a Fluttershy!" Spike declared with confidence in his voice " I know you all won't fail that spell." he continued. Twilight started to panic " Spike I know I am good with magic but I don't know if I can perform the spell. I haven't even seen the spell in the book Princess Celestia has with her. It could be too complex for me to perform safely or at all for that matter." Twilight told the little purple dragon as thoughts of letting her friends down and images of her failing the spell took hold of her mind. Fluttershy opened her mouth to speak when Pinkie Pie suddenly interrupted her " That's silly!" they all turned and looked at the pink pony. " What are you talking about Pinkie? " Rainbow Dash said trying to figure out what Twilight had said that was silly and the other ponies looked just as puzzled as Rainbow at the remark. " Well if it's a spell to heal ponies. Why would anypony use it if the spell would hurt the pony it was suppose to be healing?" Pinkie announced with the same puzzled expression as her friends. Everypony was in shock as they looked at Pinkie and how what she had said made sense. Twilight thought about what the two princesses said to them and recalled what Luna had said last  The magic backlash could seriously injure the ponies preforming the spell. Her eyes widen at the realization that Pinkie was right " Everypony Pinkie Pie is right. Luna said it would injure the ponies preforming the spell." She ran over and hugged the pink pony as she continued " Me and the assisting ponies would be the ones at risk not Fluttershy because she would not be performing any part of the spell just receiving the healing effect of it." All the friends began to smile and hug one another after hearing Twilight. " Everypony I think we have made our decision." Twilight announced proudly before seeing Fluttershy's still worried expression while being hugged by Rainbow Dash. " Fluttershy please allow us to do this. You mean so much to us and we could never forgive ourselves if we didn't at least try." She pleaded to the worried friend. Fluttershy looked back at her and nodded her head knowing they would blame themselves if she didn't let them try. As the ponies talked about their thoughts and opinions about using the spell, trying to come to a decision. Outside in the hall " Big sister why did you tell me not to mention that we are the only ponies that could perform the spell? and that we are the ones at risk of injury? Shouldn't they know about it?" Luna questioned. " Luna these ponies have saved Equestria from some of worst enemies we have known and they even saved you. I think we should take the risk to help them in return and them knowing that we could be injured would just make them refuse to use the spell." Celestia quietly replied. " Yes, you are right big sister. I think it's only right to return their kindness, and risk injury to repay them for bringing me back to you." Luna says hugging her big sister. Right then the door opens and Twilight steps out. " We have made our decision." Celestia and Luna follow the unicorn back into the room. " Twilight, what have you and friends decided?" Celestia asked looking at group of ponies. " We have decide to use the spell. What do we need to do?" Twilight asked in an understanding tone. Princess Celestia's horn glowed with a gold aura bring the book in front of unicorn and opening it to the spell that was to be used. Twilight began to look over the spell on the page in front of her and started to worry about how complex the spell really was on the page. " But princess I don't think I can perform this spell. It's a very complex and..." Twilight's voice breaking into panic. The others look on with fear in their eyes when they heard Twilight's panicked statement. Celestia leaned in close to her student " Dear Twilight, Me and Luna will be performing the spell and you must perform this portion. Your friends will not be performing any part of the spell..." she whispered to Twilight while pointing to the page. After several minutes of whispering between Celestia and Twilight, lavender unicorn turned to her friends " Okay girls, Rarity, Pinkie Pie place one hoof gently on Fluttershy's left wing. Applejack, Rainbow Dash, do the same on her right wing. Now when the spell starts every pony must close their eyes and focus their thoughts on Fluttershy. It's important that no pony opens their eyes or removes their hoof no matter what! Okay girls?" Twilight instructed with slight demanding tone " Big Macintosh, Spike you will have to close your eyes like the others until I say it okay to open them." They all looked back at her and nodded their heads as girls moved the sides they had been instructed to be on and placed their hooves gently as possible on her bandaged wings while making sure that they were not causing pain to Fluttershy. Twilight turns to Princess Celestia " I am ready to begin princess." As Twilight's horn began to glow with a purple aura her friends closed their eyes. Celestia and Luna move to each side of Twilight, their horns also glowing with magic as they begin preforming their part of the spell. Twilight watches as Fluttershy's body begin to glow with a mixture of the princesses magic and her own magic. The reason for the princesses to perform the healing spell repeated in her mind as she watched the magic heal Fluttershy's wings. " Twilight you must use your magic to channel the pain of healing process into us. Your friends would not be able to endure to stress of the spell's power and effects without suffering serious injuries, so Luna and I will endure it for them, but you must know we are doing this not only for Equestria, seeing as she is a Bearer of a Element of Harmony. We also do this to thank you and your friends for reuniting Luna with me." Twilight focused on her part of the spell when she looks at Princess Celestia's face to see it grimaced in pain and eyes welling up with tears. Before turning to see Princess Luna with the same painful look on her face tears steaming down the alicorn's cheeks. After what felt like hours passing by, the princesses magic faded from Fluttershy's body. " Twilight we must...return to Canterlot now...to recover." Celestia whispered to Twilight breathing heavily. Twilight hugged Celestia and whispered " Thank so much for helping Fluttershy princess." and then walked over to Luna hugged her while whispering " Thank you so much Princess Luna for helping Fluttershy and me." Luna whispered back to her " No thank you for reuniting me with my big sister." Luna and Celestia gave a smile to the lavender unicorn and softly walked out of the room. Twilight tip hoofed to the window and watched the two princess get on their carriage. " Okay everypony, you can open your eyes now. The spell is complete and look girls Fluttershy's wings are completely healed." Twilight announced joyfully. They all opened their eyes and looked at Fluttershy's wings, which looked as if nothing had ever happened to them. They even noticed the cast on her broken leg was gone and the leg was completely healed from the spells magic. They all hugged Fluttershy and began to cry for joy having her back to her old self. " WE SHOULD HAVE A FLUTTERSHY IS COMPLETELY HEALED HAPPY EVER AFTER PARTY." Pinkie Pie shouted before bouncing around full of happiness and joy filled energy as normal. " Let's Go!" Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity, and Big Macintosh helped Fluttershy out of the hospital bed still being careful with her. Fluttershy slowly spread her wings " Thank you all for healing me." Slowly she began to flap her wings, as her friends looked on. " Let's go!!!" Pinkie shouted still bouncing impatiently " Hurry!!" As all her friends were leave the room, Twilight stood there with the last words whispered to her by Celestia before she told her friends what to do during the spell " Twilight please keep the reason and us performing the spell secret from your friends. They would only worry about what they had us go through and remember friendship and good deeds are always rewarded my dear student." Twilight looks to the door to see Fluttershy enter the door way. " Are you okay Twilight?" The yellow pegasus ask with a concerned expression across her face. " Yes, Fluttershy I'm alright." smiling back at her. " Let's go. Everypony will be waiting." she continued as they walked out of the room together.
