after a metorite crashes in sweet apple acers the CMC go out to investigate. The CMC don't return for several days and the mane six starts to worry about them and investigate the impact too, after waking up looking very diffrent than before.
the last of a certain alien race aravies in equestria and decides to keep his species going by injecting its dna into a lucky host, who just happened to be the CMC and the mane6. however the mutations cause them to be regarded as out casts by most. and the only one even wanting to listen to there story is lyra.
