Repeating a Thousand Years
The Banishment of Princess Luna
"Luna! Stop! Thy doesn't have to do this!" I pleaded to my dear sister.
"Why should we?! The thought of someone ever caring about us is truly false! No one cares about our night!!! If thy loyal subjects really loved us, they would care that we have never been truly loved in the first place! Thou has angered me for the last time!" Luna screamed.
I watched in horror as Luna transformed from a lonely little alicorn filly to a wicked mare. I watched her grow into a tall, black figure with hair just like the night sky. The last thing that showed even a tiny bit of struggle in Luna's mind was the look of despair and fear in her eyes, seconds before her pupils become that of a snake.
"Luna! LUNA!! Please stop! Thou can not do this!" I screamed and cried to Luna's new form.
"SILENCE, sister! Thou no longer EARNS our respect. Thou no longer rules the throne! WE DO! Prepare, sister, for the DARKEST CRIME OF THE CENTURY!" Luna yelled for all of Equestria to hear, while she held the moon up high, refusing to bring it down.
"Luna! What are thou doing?! Why are thou doing this?!" I cried to what used to be my precious sister.
"Silence, Celestia! From this day forth, thou shall address us as Nightmare Moon!"
A bright light glowed in Nightmare Moon's eye, and without being able to react, a bright light blinded me for a few seconds, with a loud "BOOM" that made me deaf the second I heard it. I felt something snap on my back, and an extremely hot pain spreading throughout my body. A burning sensation no one can explain. I felt my hole body get fried from a single lightning bolt. The world around me went grey, then colorful, then red, then back to grey. My muscles tensed up, and my skin felt hot. I couldn't think, I couldn't breathe, I couldn't speak. I was immobile, yet I felt like I was moving. I felt liquid running down my nose and cheeks, I saw a single drop of blood fall to the ground. I tried to stand, but I could only fall. I remember falling onto the red tulips and seeing just blades of grass. Then all went black.
When I woke up, a loud ringing completely took up my ability to hear. Everything was blurry, but I could still walk. I couldn't find my sister anywhere. I retreated to the castle, and searched everywhere for a miracle. Something that could save me from this nightmare. Something that could save my people. Something that could restore balance. I searched, but I couldn't find anything. I fell onto the granite castle floor, crying. I felt hopeless, and that night really would last forever. To my surprise, I felt a tug coming from my horn. My magic was being active, but I wasn't controlling it. I was scared, unknowing what was happening. All I know was that I was being dragged by my own magic.
Room by room, hall by hall, I was driven by my magic, unable to stop it. I was like a little puppet against it.
After a while, I began to get lost. Everything seemed new. I was never in these of the castle before. Though, it felt so familiar...but why? Why would a place I was never in felt so right to me? After I took a right, I noticed a giant golden door. My horn got brighter and brighter, and I couldn't stop it. I felt all my power, all my magic, be put into this one area of my body. I felt the power grew within me, and right until I was about to scream, a bright beam of light shot right out of my horn, breaking open the giant golden doors. Dust, ashes, and even broken pieces of door flew everywhere. When the air began to clear out, though, something so amazing caught my eye.
Six gems, each one a different color, shined on top of a structure. Each gem was different, with different ways to mesmerize you with it's beauty. I couldn't help but get a closer look. I walked quietly up to the gems, closely observing them. In curiosity, I tried to touch one, and the second I touched it, my horn went off again. All six gems were lifted off the structure, and swirled around me. I began to feel stronger, faster, wiser. The six gems began to accelerate around me, until it looked like it was only a single stream of a rainbow. The circle of rainbow enclosed on me, but I wasn't worried. I felt like this was meant to happen.
When the rainbow collapsed on me, all colors broke free and strands of bright colors flew around the room. It was like watching a magic show. It was so amazing so watch. A bright light, almost like a miniature sun, formed in the middle of the room. It only took me a few seconds to realize I was floating in air, when I wasn't even using my wings. Despite it's brightness, I could still see the strands of rainbow flying everywhere. In the order of the rainbow, each strand flew into the light one at a time. Once the last color darted into the ball of light, it disappeared. Then, I collapsed onto the ground.
When I stood back up, I felt wiser about those colors. I felt like I studied the gems for a long time. I had physical changes, too. My hair became the colors of the elements, and my magic was twice as powerful. Under my breath, I said "Elements of Harmony..." I gasped at the fact that I suddenly knew what they were. Knowing what they were, I knew what they did, also. I knew why I was brought there from that moment forth, to be able to save my sister and Equestria from Nightmare Moon.
I used the elements to try to eradicate Nightmare Moon, and bring forth my once beloved sister. Though, it did not work as I expected. Instead of freeing Luna from her envy, I sent Nightmare Moon to the moon, with Luna also. When this happened, I just stared at the moon in shock. How could this happen? I wanted to save Luna! Not banish her! No! Come back! Come back!
"COME BAAAAAAAAAAACK!" I cried to the lifeless face on the moon.
